Constantinople Cafe & Bistro in Brighton and Hove

We've eaten in Turkish restaurants a few times but never before have we had some friendly suggestions as to nice combinations. The food was excellent, service friendly and helpful. It is also very reasonably priced

Delicious food, great service, good atmosphere. Stuffed aubergine was fantastic as well as all the mezze. We tried the Lebanese wine which was good. No added service charge on the bill which is always a bonus so we tipped well.

Very good food and atmosphere. Restaurant decor and friendly staff made this a night we will remember from our short trip to Brighton. Menu had lots of choice with regards to allergies all in all I would happily return

Went as a couple for dinner and we each went with the 3 course deal (2 mezze/tapas, 1 entree, 1 main + bread) was loads of food. Nice variety of flavours. My favourite dishes were the mackerel mezze (sauce was very umami) and the salmon kebabs (cooked perfectly with crisp skin and moist flesh on the skewer). Had boxes for takeaway leftovers and couldn't resist trying desserts anyway!

Excellent, delicious food prepared beautifully. I have never had calamari like it before absolutely superb and chicken so tender, perfect! My sister commented that the vegetarian meal she had was the best she has ever tasted in a restaurant - Praise indeed!. Every morsel beautifully prepared and little touches that helped make a birthday meal special.

We found the restaurant on trip advisor. After an afternoon at the theatre in Brighton we wanted to have a short walk before sitting down for dinner. We were greeted with a warm welcome, we asked for some advice on some of the menu items and it was explained perfectly. The food was delicious and plentiful and all very good value. It’s an absolute gem and we will definitely return back!

This place is great for a light lunch with colleagues and also a proper dinner with family and friends, fantastic food and excellent service from friendly staff, namely Tubi, and I highly recommend visiting Constantinople restaurant in Brighton!

Wow, wow, wow. Chose the restaurant based on its high rated Tripadvisor reviews & boy it did not disappoint!. We tried 4 of their Tapas starters & to avoid mis-spellings of the names, celeriac, mackerel, aubergine & pumpkin. Although the fish & celeriac were exceptional, the pumpkin was an absolute winner, great flavour combo & with the waiters recommendation, improved with a grind of whole black pepper. Our mains were the lamb meatballs & the aubergine covered by baked, spiced lamb (both daily specials). Portion size was just right, flavour combinations excellent. We had their Lebanese white wine (only £29 a bottle), which was a recommended & pleasurable accompaniment. Desserts?, well I had to try the baclava & the wife the pumpkin, tahini & sesame seed. All wonderful, if filling. All told, we’d absolutely recommend & return.

Amazing Meze. We have visited Turkey many times and this is authentic and fantastic quality, as good, if not better than food from there. I particularly recommend the Baba Ganoush and Carrot Tarator. Complimentary extra Meze and Dessert too!

Have been meaning to visit for quite some time and it really didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent and the food was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 we both chose the 3 course menu which was amazing value for money. The amount of food we had was perfect and allowed us to try a range of traditional foods. We were also given a taster of their traditional semolina milk cake which was so delicious! Sharing mezze option is a nice way to start your meal which we did first when we were there the other night. Then we each had a main course. Overall, the ambience is amazing and the food comes out really quick and amazing staff too. Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. A must try in Brighton.

Delicious Food and better atmosphere We had an amazing evening for my birthday last Saturday. The staff were truly wonderful in helping me celebrate with my family. The owner was very accommodating and provided a great service. An absolute delight from start to finish. Great food too. It is definitely worth a visit. Will definitely be coming back.

Tasty food but dreadful service! My husband and I booked a table for 7:45pm on a Saturday night, we were promptly seated, we thought ‘good start!’, 20 mins later we hadn’t so much as been offered a glass of wine or a breadstick… The waiter who had shown us to our table appeared to ignore us since he seated us at our table. We then managed to gain the attention of the older gentleman, who as it transpired was much friendlier and keen to take our order. The food arrived quicker than we thought given it had taken them 20 mins to even take a drinks order but anyway, I have to say the food was very tasty. The lamb and the mezze was all very good! After we’d eaten, nobody offered us more drinks and after another 20+ mins and no dessert options being offered, we decided to get the bill, we asked the guy who’d initially seated us for the bill, but as he’d been all night, he decided to start doing something else! Finally we asked the young girl for the bill, very friendly and it was finally sorted. Good food but let down by one incredibly rude and surly waiter.

Can’t say enough about this stunning little restaurant. Visited with friends and enjoyed the most lovely tasting food. Service was impeccable atmosphere perfect decor everything was just perfect. Really great advice when ordering freshly cooked crisp salad real gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend visiting.

Great buzzing atmosphere in this little bistro on Western Road. The waiting staff are a joy. It has all the hallmarks of a privately owned eatery of passion for great food, service which leaves the customer feeling that they ‘care’ that it is a great experience. In particular the tapas and meze platter delivered a crescendo of Mediterranean taste. No wonder it’s one of the highest ranked places in B@H.

We chose from the daily specials deal with two meze and a main course per person. There was plenty of food and it was all very tasty. Nice wine, baklava and coffee too.

We booked Constantinople after hearing such good things for the night before our wedding. People were obviously excited and busy. Constantinople were friendly, organised and provided such delicious tasty food without any mistakes. We look forward to going back as a married couple

Went for a weekday lunch here with the family. The interior is clean, homely and comfortable. The lunch menu allowed for quite a bit of flexibility, being able to chose 1 main and 2 meze/starter dishes per person. As we like to share dishes, this was ideal and we got to sample quite a range between the four of us. The dishes are authentically Turkish and varied, if you're looking for a glorified kebab house this isn't it. Everything was very good, some dishes we'd not tried before were a nice surprise. The fresh bread was excellent and if you're avoiding alcohol I can highly recommend the homemade lemonade. The service was friendly and attentive enough that we weren't wondering if we'd been forgotten about. It was also very reasonably priced, so much so that I felt compelled to leave a larger tip than usual. Will definitely return and would definitely recommend.

Booked for Saturday night and were lucky to get in as the restaurant was fully booked from 20:00hrs onwards. The staff were very friendly and helpful explaining the menu and recommending if we were not sure. We chose the special deal of Two Mezze & Tapas, One Entrée and A Main Dish of your choice £24.95. This was perfect as there were three of us and we could all share. The food was fresh, tasteful and the amount of dishes meant we could try all different things. We were all full by the end of the evening. I would recommend a visit, but book to ensure your no disappointed. Thank-you for a lovely evening.

I love Turkish cuisine, where ever I travel i always search for Turkish restaurants. Tonight what i eat is fine but not authentic Turkish for sure. The meza is not so good, but the main course is ok.

I am giving this restaurant a top mark score because I can not fault it.We returned after the covid two year break and it was still as good as we remembered.The food is so tasty and plentiful.We chose the option of a main, two mezes and a starter all for under £20 a head. Complimentary pitta bread was added and topped up when needed.I find it difficult to deviate from the chicken slovaki, which comes on two skewers with plenty of chicken.The staff are always really friendly and welcoming.I will be returning soon!
