Great cafe. Its a hidden gem in London Road.

Incredible food, served by lovely people - thank you to everyone! We regularly have a mezebox to take away and are always so impressed with the variety of salads and pastries, plus how tasty and nutritious it all is!

Vegetarian Mezze was deliscious, varied and reasonably priced. Fab lunch.

Best place to eat in Brighton! Can't compare it to anywhere else. In particular the mezze offers a delicious and healthy array of different veggie based foods. Nice eating area upstairs, nice central location. The price is very reasonable for what you get (has only gone up a small amount over the years understandably). No complaints whatsoever!

Second time I’ve eaten here and both times absolutely delicious! A range of Middle Eastern food all super fresh, healthy and tasty! Staff are lovely too!

This is my favourite place to have lunch in Brighton. The food is healthy and delicious. Even my fussy children love it “to the moon and back” they say. Highly recommended!

Always delicious mezes and wraps

Always delicious, the best food in town served by lovely people who know how to make a lovely lunch time meal. I recommend this place to everyone

After a long waited without anyone’s attention I asked for the freshly made falafel to have cheddar not haloumi, but such maverick decisions are frowned upon here, and the change was blocked, meaning I went to the really lovely Tiger Eats Carrot just up by the viaduct, lovely friendly people- so welcoming.

I'm not an avid reviewer, so to feel the need to write up feedback on this wonderful cafe is a very telling sign on just how special this place is. I came here with my partner for a quick lunch. We each ordered a meze plate, served by a very friendly and smiling gentleman, and was told to wait upstairs for it to be brought up to us. The service was speedy, the waitress offered us water, to which she brought over a big glass bottle full. This food we were told is all made fresh daily, and you can tell. Every single part of this meal was delicious and left us feeling like we'd had a health kick, which was a lovely way to end a very wholesome weekend. We will most certainly be back, to try more of what they have to offer, and I will be throwing out recommendations left right and centre. Thank you Sunbirds. ❤️

When she asked for a receipt- which for me should always be a standard thing you give customers- the lady serving her told her that she should have asked for it earlier in the payment process! Definitely worth it for the food, hope the staff are normally more welcoming.

My favourite cafe on London Rd and even in Brighton! Seriously delicious middle eastern meals and lovely staff.

My favourite lunch spot in Brighton. Amazing meze boxes with options for veg, vegan etc. AMAZING Bakalava too. :) Great to dine in or take out.

Highly recommend. Tasty food and friendly service. Great choice of veggie and vegan dishes too. Had the veggie mezze, coffee and fresh fruit juice of the day. Was impressed with the selection of food and drinks and the cakes looked lovely but I'll have to save those for another time.

Had the veggie meze and my boyfriend had the chicken wrap - we loved them! I’m gluten free and they gave such a great selection, loved it all!

There's a good reason this deli cafe consistently gets 5 stars: I've been eating here for years and the food is always freshly made, healthy, varied and delicious. Staff are welcoming and efficient, and eating in the food is piping hot, while their wonderful takeaway mezes are our Friday staple meal, and we can't resist their baklava. Dogs are also welcomed, and mine enjoys the smells and the snacks. The cafe is unpretentious and no-one hurries you out, so I've often met up with friends. Sunbirds is so good that I've nominated them for this year's BBC Food and Farming Awards in the Best Streetfood, Takeaway and Small Eateries category - everyone who loves them should do the same, as it doesn't take long!

I ordered a chicken meze and had a pistachio cake for dessert. It was all so tasty, shame I forgot to take pictures. The table and chairs outside are also in a sun trap area so great to sit out there too 😊

Love this place. The pistachio dream cake is just that - a dream. Dog friendly too.

Sunbirds truly are the kings and queens of mezze and wraps!! I'm a local and I eat here at least twice a month. It is consistently delicious with great options and lovely staff. If you come to Brighton you have to eat here!! (Also their dessert options are INCREDIBLE!!)

This cafe is amazing! It’s so beautifully decorated and the workers are lovely. There’s a selection of foods for every dietary requirement. I definitely recommend this place if you’re vegan. They also have various cakes and pastries, all homemade. And their fresh juices are so good!

Sunbirds is one of my favourite cafes in Brighton. The range of food, from snacks to meals is very good. The location is good. The decor is cheerful. The staff are always friendly and remembered me after the pandemic break. Highly recommended!

Good home-made food and cakes at very reasonable prices. A very popular cafe so you may have to queue at peak times but not for long as the staff are very efficient.

Service was okay, nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either.

The food here is quite simply delicious. It is so full of colour and flavour and very good value for money. My vegetarian meze platter today was out of this world! If you like mediterranean, arabic style food it’s a great choice There are plenty of plant based dishes. They do do meat options too. They cater really well for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free people with no compromise on choice and taste. Such lovely people who run it too. It’s my favourite place to eat in the world!

Update. Thanks for looking after me and my friends for many years! :) Healthy filling vegan food, good prices, friendly staff, nice coffee though! longtime customer. Any food left after 5pm goes cheap! So no waste and has really helped in these tough times.

Absolutely wonderful visit for lunch after recommendations from Google. We had the lentil soup, it came served with toasted ciabatta which had a spice mix on. How do they make soup taste like that?! So well seasoned, vegan but so creamy. Really good size not too much but filling, good for a light lunch. The mezze looked amazing, was sad we couldn’t come back the next day to try it. Lovely friendly staff also.

Honestly my favourite place on earth

The staff are lovely and the food is so yummy! This was my 3rd time visiting this place & my 2nd time ordering the vegetarian meze! I have also tried the vegetarian halloumi wrap which is also delicious!!! I would recommend this place to anyone, especially to vegetarians & vegans !

I’ve just had the best wrap of my entire life here. Chicken wrap, comes how it comes, plenty of fillings, sauce and flavour. Toasted to perfection and boshed out in about 2 mins from fresh.

Amazing quality soup. So much flavour and the bread that comes with it is super fluffy. Very filling and good value !

Wow! What a find! We had the most delicious vegan mezze for lunch. All the food is so fresh and incredibly tasty! Excellent service and superb value for money. What I love is that this place is not pretentious, they just offer incredible food 😊

he is winning the "underground baklava war" by taste & sweetness overall 99% satisfaction and i have to measure crispness on the bottom layer too, which is always forgotten by the other competitors. he knows what his doing Turkish but not Turkish 😂 nice guy!

I love everything about this Deli, it's my #1 spot. Everything is healthy, fresh, tastes great and full of energy. Staff are warm and friendly. As long as I live in Brighton I'll be a regular.
