Connolly's Irish Bar in Glasgow City

Was in on a Saturday night bought drinks then had a dance to live music… drinks thrown out by bar staff! Checked cctv and agreed they had disposed of our full drinks but apparently hadn’t let them know we were dancing?! So declined to replace them.. I’ve ran pubs myself and this seems like very poor customer service. Even the door man was embarrassed by their actions! Won’t be back … bad craic

Brilliant atmosphere!! Love it when there is live music. Staff are spot on too. Down to the wee dude in the toilet, he’s brand new as well. Never had problem. Always enjoyed myself 💚🍀🇮🇪

Nice relaxed, casual atmosphere. My husband says they serve a good pint of Guinness

Went to the quiz tonight, Tam the host was absolutely tremendous, some man. Great patter, decent chat, some buzz, really good guy all round. Made all the boays welcome, we’ll be back

A nice pub to grab a drink, they have a few beers on tap including a few brewed in the UK. You can also get a half pint which we like since we are not big beer drinkers. They also encourage the use of cash, so I was able to use the pounds I had purchased for this trip, since so many places seem to be cashless in the UK now, while also saving them some fees in the process. We enjoyed drinking outside until someone started to smoke, it's unfortunate that you can still smoke in the patio areas in the UK so we often have to stay inside or just skip that mid afternoon drink, but only once in our 3 visits here was someone smoking. All the bartenders we met were also very friendly.

0 STAR: said it is dog friendly when it is clearly not. The guy “Tam” who does the quiz seems to chat the woman he recognises up most of the night. My dog had been in since 7.40pm all night and at 10pm he was told by “Tam” the quiz presenter who has been chatting all woman all night up and people smoking vapes within the pub our dog should be moved from the entrance. Even tho he was sat all night with us with wheelchair access since 8pm. A man who had been feeding him treats since 8pm. Knowing him previous in pub. Tam clearly wasn’t getting enough attention off the ladies due to our dog which annoyed him he decided to be aggressive towards my mum. CLEARLY NOT A DOG FRIENDLY PUB WITH TAM : our dog being 12 years old and so placid and friendly.

Just a great place and a great Guinness. Spend cash if you can as it gives you 10% off

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent place to watch sport, good value pints and spirits. Fast and professional service even when it was busy.

Love connellys but sometimes it too busy so takes a while to be served but means it’s a good bar! Be back soon for caffertys!!

Was okay not great. Lacked atmosphere. Guinness was poor. Service slow. Door staff rude. I wouldn’t be rushing back in a hurry

Not a great sign when an Irish pub doesn’t serve a half decent pint of Guinness. The bouncers are also happy to let beggars in to bother customers trying to sell them cheap flowers. Wouldn’t return

What a great night we had on St Patrick's day. We had to wait in a queue to get in . The bouncer was friendly I think his name was Joe. The singers were brilliant. One of the best pubs of the day and we were in a few 🍻😊. Everyone was friendly will definitely be back.

Popped in for one after Home and it’s seems a decent enough bar. Just too crowded and squashed together for our liking. Would like to revisit when Celtic are playing.

It’s a decent night out and we normally come in before we go to football. Always great singers on. Sometimes the young team are a bit much.

Popped in after a magic Mike tribute in arta as they had live music on this guy gets the one star but OMG do not order a drink near closing time the staff will LITERALLY RIP IT RIGHT OUT OF YOUR HAND no exaggeration he actually grabbed it no apology like any other bar sorry we are closing drink up please the Irish guy just grabbed it I get staff want to go home and had he said sorry u need to drink up like all bars do then fair enough but we had just bought the drink they shouldn’t serve anyone if they don’t have time to finish it and certainly shouldn’t grab a drink out your hand I would never go in this bar again this was one member of staff who is in the wrong job

Went in for a few drinks after magic Mike tribute in arta next door as I love live music the 2 stars are for the singer who was fab the bar itself is a bit small looks bigger from outside but that’s not the worst thing about this bar they will call last orders literally 5 minutes after you buy a drink then rip it right out of your hand I tried being friendly saying ok no problem just give me 1 minute and we will leave (the bar was still full ) only to be told no we will lose our license and grabbed the full drink out of my hand never ever had anyone do that in any bar in my life ( he was Irish ) don’t know his name but needs sacked for his arrogance) I wouldn’t return a bit of courtesy goes a long way I understand pubs close and staff need to go home bit no one should grab your drink from you in any bar guy was on a power trip

Best pub in merchant City by far staff very friendly and helpful 👌 music 🎶 👌👍drinks are reasonable as well I enjoy a few beers in there regularly 😀

Recommended to visit and it was very good. A little chaotic but good fun. Would recommend a quick visit.

Large irish bar with plenty of tvs for sport no sound though and unfortunately priced like irish bars.

When did yo go? Every weekend of my life since Lockdown!! Great bar and staff and constant banter. Other bars can not match the atmosphere and patter in here. Pints of Menabrea are nothing short of tremendous every time.

Place was empty but the Cork IPA was delicious

Ordered 2 G&Ts a rum and a jack daniels. They were all watered down and we left them on the bar. It was my first time in here and it was such a dissapointment!

Great pub with live music on a Sunday night by Liam McGrandle ! The staff are friendly especially Gary the doorman who goes the extra mile to make you feel very welcome! Also, the atmosphere is great with everyone singing along with Liam. I’ve never tried the food but it’s on my list 😊

Possibly the worst bar I’ve ever been in. The layout is terrible, feels like you’re in a corridor such that when it’s busy everyone is in everyone’s way. Some of the clientele are pretty distasteful. And as for the song choice, oh my days. I’ll never return.

Proud Irish bar with loads of sports screens, live music and great beer. It’s large but does get really busy when the football is on. One of the best Irish bars in the city

Place was rammed but service was very good and didn't have to wait to get served. Brilliant atmosphere watching the rugby.

My husband and I popped into this bar after we had been out shopping. It was very quiet but we weren't intending to stay long. 4 stars is for the 2 girls on the bar who were so delightful and kept the atmosphere going for the small number who were in the pub. They were a joy, so big thanks to Kia and Kira who were fab.

The best place to enjoy your day expecially weekends. There is always live band to give you the best songs you can ever get. Big screens to watch all types of sport and great events. A great place to meet great staff, spend your great time and meet great and nice people. Love this place.

Poor Customer Service. I have been in this pub a few times when it was very quiet. On each occasion I was served my drink in an almost abrupt manner. On the most recent occasion I approached the bar and asked for a pint. Not...

Was busy pub, Irish singer on. Felt slightly uneasy as was singing Rebel republican songs so being English perhaps was a mistake going in there.
