3 hours ago NEW Where do i start? The landlord and wife are homophobes. The landlord kicked out two patrons who were minding their own business, just for being gay. He called them 'disgusting homosexuals' and had them man handled out the bar. Absolutely disgusting and there is no defence other than pure homophobia. The police have been made aware and will be investigating.

had an ok dinner there once. Typical pub where the staff do not last long. New just off the boat staff eye candy for the mainly male clienttelle staff to drool over. Full of young/old, second/third generation irish, some who think they know the irish situation but who are ignorant in their views of modern day Ireland, north and south. They seem to cater for a lot of sports. Too many screens all over the place. Gets a bit cramped and rowdy at times. nice beer garden, well maintained. f Beware of some of the locals who will fish for information and follow u about. The managers are a gas couple, linda likes to wear the trousers. Some of these people think that Ireland was where life evolved! :) and are quite narrow minded. Please visit Ireland for a proper Irish pub who dont milk the past for a profit

I’ve enjoyed many visits to this establishment and have always been treated well. The staff are friendly and always welcoming and helpful in every way. They have sports on all year round and can even split the viewing if events clash. Live entertainment every weekend also...... I haven’t personally eaten here yet but what I see coming out looks edible, not A’ la carts but what do you want from a local bar? Basically what more could you ask for?

This place is always good for a nice pint of beer and to people watch some pretty interesting locals, the food is fine for what you pay, it’s like your aunts home cooking but not a special night out. Live music nights are busy.

I visited here a few hours after arriving in town and was immediately impressed. The woman behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating. The venue itself is clean, warm, spacious and inviting. When it came time to order dinner the woman working there was incredibly helpful. In the end she highly recommended the Irish stew so I decided to go with her recommendation. I can't imagine a more delicious meal. it was positively amazing. The taste was out of this world amazing. The portion size was big too and that was perfect as I hadn't eaten since my plane had landed at Heathrow much earlier in the day. I was very grateful. I would highly recommend anyone to eat and drink here. The service is outstanding and the food and beverages were even better. Free WiFi too. Highly recommended.

Went here with my girlfriend after reviewing some out the cafe menues around Chiswick looking for a fry up. Their fry up had some lovely black and white pudding and lovely sofa bread on the side. No cumberland sausages, but great portions and very good value compared to the competition. Nice stag too, would go back.

Recommend as a drinking pub but not as an eating pub. The most tasteless burger, chips and beans I’ve had the misfortune to purchase.

Connolly's is a rare thing: an Irish bar without awful and sad regular clientele that alienate newcomers. great food and events - evidently well run, friendly and well worth a visit in this increasingly pretentious neck of the woods.

Best prices in Chiswick and they always have a game on. Staff is friendly enough. Very nice garden in the back, unfortunately the garden closes at 10 and dogs are only allowed in the garden not in the main pub.

A real welcome when my son and I entered. Despite it being pretty full we were served our drinks promptly from a fine selection of ales. A real Irish pub, and with live Irish music playing. Will certainly visit again when down that way.

Bar & Diner? I don't really get that name; its a pub pure and simple. I've been a few times, always to watch football (they have Sky and BT Sport). Service has always been excellent no matter how crowded it is, and the Doom Bar is a delicious ale. The locals seem to be mainly Irish (I'm not), and very sociable. It's an ideal place to watch a game, even if you don't have company- grab a bar stool and you are almost bound to end up chatting about the match.

Had a thoroughly disgusting experience in Connolly's today during the Chelsea/City game. I am a woman in her 30s of Oriental appearance and whilst waiting to be served, a group of 5-6 guys sat at the bar proceeded to say 'Ni hao' several times to me. Unfortunately a lot of people don't realise this but that is incredibly racist, ignorant and offensive. Disgusted by their behaviour I told them that they were being racist. They confirmed their lack of intelligence by questioning my statement. (They probably also didn't even realise that their unsought for and unwanted attention directed at myself was harassment.) I told them that they looked at the colour of my skin and ignorantly decided that I was Chinese rudely oblivious to the fact that I could be, for example, Thai, Japanese or Malay (or English or French for that matter!), and their treatment of me with a sweeping generalisation was racist. I turned away to ask the bar lady for a drink and she insisted on knowing why I was upset, which I presumed was out of concern. I explained that the gentlemen (a generous description) had been racist. They then had the audacity to deny that any of them had said anything to me at all, including 'Ni hao' and I responded by telling them they should at least be man enough to admit what they said. Now, I understand that the bar can't be held responsible for the anti-sociable, disrespectful behaviour of their patrons. However, I couldn't believe it when the bar lady then proceeded to tell me that if I was going to be upset by that, then I should be the one to leave! In complete disbelief, I checked that I was hearing things correctly by restating that I'd been the one subjected to racist rhetoric and asking if she was suggesting that I should go, to which she responded affirmatively and then switched her attention to serve the person behind me!Even though I wasn't a victim to any aggressive or violent racist behaviour, that doesn't mean that how I was treated was acceptable, and condoning any level of that behaviour creates divisions and tensions in society. To be clear, I wouldn't have expected the pub to throw the group of men out because, to be fair, they weren't being abusive or violent, merely ignorant. But a decent human being would have told me to ignore them and then served me a drink. Instead she made me feel like the one in the wrong, the one making trouble. If that's the attitude of Connolly's staff, I would strongly recommend staying away from such a disgusting establishment that has no respect or care for people subjected to racist and anti-social behaviour.

This pub, on the Chiswick High Road in the Chiswick area of London, seems at first like many other pubs, albeit Irish. It has darts and sports on the telly. The usual selection of food and drink with a emphasis (but not exclusively) on Irish fare. Unlike so many pubs now in the UK, this place apparently makes all its food on the premises, not having pre-packaged ready-to-heat stuff. The result is quite good pub food (not gourmet but then if you're looking for gourmet you'd not go to a pub). It's noisy at times, has music sometimes, and service is decent if not overwhelming.

Very quick and efficient service. Seated as soon as we got there by the very attentive Shila. Drinks were served followed by menu choices. Sure the food is standard pub fare, but came quickly and clean plates for the kids which is high praise.

Sorry but who is giving this place 5 star reviews. Is this the same place in Brentford, opposite Siracusa (Italian Restaurant) YES it is! I would give it ZERO stars if I could! So I was here with a group of my colleagues/friends for dinner. Sat us down, owner/waiter pretty sleepy but took our order. Nice enough guy. Food was below standard and burger bun was rock hard (clearly ones that are frozen and reheated) but it's the worst service I have ever experienced that I would like to point out. The starters was bought to our table without cutlery or side plates. Our friend got up to get these with the waiter looking on without a care in the world and not so much as "sorry let me do this for you (considering it's his job)". They did not once come over in the 3 hours we were there to check all was ok. We were constantly calling them over for drink and food orders. They are clearly understaffed and the few waiters they have there are not trained on Customer Service. Only go here if you have nowhere else to eat. The food was below average. The service a disaster. Go ANYWHERE else!
