Excellent service. Service was brilliant, all the ladies were lovely. The stables were spotlessly clean. The afternoon tea was delicious, couldn’t eat it all. For an Father’s Day treat for my elderly parents it was perfect. Disabled parking a short walk/push from car to tearooms. I booked same day via Facebook, Sara who runs the tearooms was really helpful and deserves trade post covid. We will definitely return for a sandwich and cake.

I didn’t mention it to the staff (who were friendly and helpful) partly as I’m pregnant and couldn’t be bothered! £9 for a cream tea with an overheated dry scone, a teaspoon of jam/same of clotted cream, and a shop purchased egg custard. So that’s £3.05 for the egg custard if a cream tea is £5.95… Genius: same story in many places- stop people bringing in their own food so you can thoroughly rip them off on site. No menus suggesting what the ‘light lunches’ were. Few cakes with prices by them (otherwise I might have reconsidered)

Visited here on a busy Saturday. Lovely location but very overpriced for what you get and none of the cakes labelled so you have to guess what things are. Staff crawling underneath the counter to get in and out. No variety of coffees - just basic coffee with milk. The cakes were ok but served out of cardboard at nearly £4 a slice is a little much. Has the potential to be so lovely but not quite there at the moment.

We visited Holdenby House gardens this weekend using our Gardener’s World 2 for 1 card. Had a lovely walk around the gardens and watched the falconry show and then decided to go for lunch in the tea rooms which is set in old stable barns. It even has the original cobblestone floor and horse names on the walls. The kitchen is quaint and reminded me of my grandmothers kitchen. They have a lovely selection of china cups and saucers. Sadly that’s where the positive review ends. We wanted a sandwich or something but there was nothing out on display. There were no menus or a board or anything up on the wall to see what food they actually sell and no prices on the sausage rolls and cakes that were out in the glass display cases. I asked if they sold sandwiches and was told she could make us a tuna and sweetcorn wrap. We’re not keen on wraps so went for sausage rolls and I opted for a cream tea which actually was advertised on the way in as being £5.95. The sausage rolls were ok but they didn’t have any ketchup to go with them which my daughter asked for. She also didn’t ask if we wanted them hot or cold but put them in the microwave anyway. I wasn’t asked if I wanted a plain or fruit scone and was given a plain one which she also microwaved! Given the choice, I would have liked a cold fruit one. I was told the milk was behind me on the counter for the drinks which was fine for my husband’s coffee. But considering I had a pot of tea, walking backwards and forwards across the tearoom to the big milk jug was tedious to say the least! Why no milk jugs on the tray with the pot of tea?! My husband said his coffee was undrinkable and only drank half of it. As for the scone… Im sad to say it was the worst scone I’ve ever eaten. It was rubbery and didn’t even have the consistency of a scone. This could be such a nice place but sadly we felt very disappointed after our visit and would not return.

Visited for the Easter event at Holdenby House today. Adults ready made lunch box was fine, childrens box wasn’t ready so needed to wait to be made, which was fine but no choice of filling because the server misplaced the ham. The cheese would have been fine however upon sitting on the lawn to eat our picnic I found the sandwich had no spread and was simply a slice of bread folded with some grated cheese. So when my 6 year old went to eat his sandwich all the grated cheese was at the bottom of the box, leaving just a couple of stale bits of unbutteted bread. No care or effort made, my son couldn’t eat so a waste of money. Very slow service too. Very frustrating and disappointing experience and waste of money. Photo of the inedible sandwich attached.

Visited during Home Food and Garden Fair. Long queues. Cold coffee, watery soup - awful experience. Avoid!

Thank you thank you thank you!!! Being gluten and dairy intolerant means I usually end up having to sit down with just a black coffee watching people on my table eat...but not this time! I was able to join in with a delicious peanut butter cookie sandwich and boy was it delicious! Can’t wait to visit again and see what other treats you have in store

My husband and I bought tea and cake after visiting the house. The choice was very limited, being nearly all sold out. I had a slice of cake, he a tiffin. Both turned out to have green mold spores on the underside. We were given a full refund. We shall not go there again. The cup of tea was good though!

Took 1hour to take our order. Over 30 mins to serve. One out of the four dinners was cold, was asked if I would like it heating up! Not, ‘could I get you another meal’ Toilets dirty. Not the best experience
