Hidden gem. Quiches and cakes perfect. Genuine food. Price good (it's still London next to London Bridge) I love the peace and quiet.

I consider this place to be a hidden gem, away but not too far from the hustle and bustle of Borough Market. So glad to find it and took a break with a nice pastry and coffee.

Food was actually not bad but we have to give it a 1star (or even less) because of the horrendous service from a particular staff member (female, with glasses, long hair). Several customers already were shocked by her rude attitude. Despite the fact that we told her we still hadn’t finished our tea, she insisted on taking our mugs onto a tray full of rubbish. We said again that we hadn’t finished ours. She then signalled us to take back our mugs from her tray without saying anything. It’s more than £3 for a cup of tea here but we were treated like this! Unbelievably poor experience! Also their madeleines cost £2 but don’t even have the proper madeleine hump … a sign of mediocrity

beautiful outside seated area for a sunny Day, unfortunately the pistachio brionut tastes nothing like pistachio and that's 6.20 pounds down the drain.

Lovely place located right next to the cathedral. Ordered the biggest cookie we ever saw (as big as my daughter’s face) and enjoyed the atmosphere

We ordered tea, wanted to pay in cash. The cashier refused us saying no change. Afterwards we paid by card. She made big eyes at us afterwards. 5:05 p.m. he chases us outside saying the cafe is closed. We don't even sit down for 10 minutes. The stuff may be tired. They look unhappy. Nobody is smiling. Damage

I didn’t really like the pastry, but the coffee is from one of the best cafés in London. The place is excellent, and the staff are friendly with great service.

This coffee shop/bakery is in the back of a church, which seemed strange at first, but it was ok inside. They have an excellent selection of baked goods, from more common pastries to some very special buns and tarts. Everything my group had was excellent and I highly recommend it as a bakery!

I have visited this eatery adjacent to Southwark cathedral a couple of times and have always been impressed by the range of pastries and other hot dishes all served with a selection. Of coffees, teas, and cold beverages.

What a lovely cafe with beautiful delicious food and cakes. Coffee was great too. A little pricey being in the cathedral! I had the Blackberry cheesecake and it was so light , like mousse. Just delicious! Would like to go back for lunch one day! What a hidden gem! 🤩

Amazing vegan option!!! We had the vegan blackberry cheesecake which tasted light and almost like real cheesecake, and the vegan pear and chocolate cake which is also delicious (rich and complex). There is plenty of seating if you want to stay in (inside and outside) and some good savoury options. The only thing is it can be pricey but personally think quality is worth it. The potato salad I had there was pretty average/not great but the pasta salad and veg pizza provided solid savoury options (they’re both eggless/veggie)

Really good quiche and chouquettes in the courtyard. Surprisingly quiet when Borough Market is so busy around the corner. Staff were very friendly. Awkward queuing system and a bit of a canteen feel inside, but the courtyard is lovely.

Brownie was good but Coffee here is below average. I ordered cappuccino and it only had taste of milk. No coffee taste. I went back asking for it to be fixed. He gave me back exactly the same. I don’t know whether they know how cappuccino should taste like it.

Went there for a meeting and it was perfect, the pastries were amazing and the coffee is from Monmouth Coffee which you can't go wrong! I would highly recommend, I don't understand other reviews about the prices when at Borough Market is the same pricing and you get nowhere to sit... Also it's central London, these guys must be paying a lot for their rent!

Very good value French style cafe. It’s the cathedral’s cafe, but a great alternative to Borough Market. Very tasty filled croissants, cookies and coffee. Large very warm echoey room. Ideal for families and has toilets.

I’ve seen this place change hands a few times over the years. Superb location - so you expect prices to be high. But £3.80 for a tasteless coffee and £6 for a pastry/cake is just too much. The place is starting to look messy and unkept again as well. Shame.

Go with plenty of money as it’s very expensive. Staff nonchalant and inattentive. Plastic throwaway cutlery is a bad move in this planet-aware age and impossible to cut through the very hard quiche crust. Food nothing special. We won’t be going back.

Was looking forward to try their “best in town " for long (their IG claims)and took a detour just to get an almond croissant. Soggy, apparently days old, definitely not baked today .....very disappointed. Having read reviews here I should have known the premise here doesn't take quality at heart, and far off from the best pastry anywhere. One star to the friendly staff but again, the management should look at what quality means to their brand.

Came at a mellow time of 11am, had a flat white which was incredible. The pastry (Pain au chocolat) was delectable. 9/10. Ideal if you want to avoid the hassle and pain going through the markets. Cost was ok at £11 for a flat white pastry and a earl gray tea.

I went to visit the cathedral today with my parents and the staff inside the cathedral was lovely and the place beautiful. After we left we went to the cathedral Caffè my first impression was good, as the first person who took my order was very polite and friendly but unfortunately the boy that was doing the coffee wasn't, I order 3 lattes just resive 2 I told him (kindly) i order 3 lattes he replied in a rude way you pay only for 2, i think he was the "supervisor". twice I have to tell him that I pay for 3 lattes and the guy who took my order kindly say to him yes she pay for 3 the guy never apologised to me even did not make the latte just told the girl next to him do the latte for her, I know people make mistakes but this barista was quite rude and need to learn how to talk to the costumers kindly.

food: i suspect as demand for Comptoir has grown in the last year or so due to instagram influencers, their have had to scale production and as such their food quality has reduced. i remember eating from them a while back, and it being rather good, but more recently I was a little disappointed. the pastry was a little stale and felt a little empty. perhaps this was due to it being left in the sun all day though. I tried a number of the things suggested by instagram influencers and wasn't satisfied service: staff were very friendly! there was a bit of a problem with people not knowing where to queue but on net, wasn't a big deal

Great to see that Comptoir Bakery have taken over the cafe at Southwark Cathedral, after so many less-than-successful attempts over the years! The space is great and the offering is fine but they need to work on their service. Staff are friendly but too often they don't get things right, even simple things. Plus the prices are higher than elsewhere and there is no discount for bringing your own cup. I really want them to succeed and I hope they can sort things out so I can become a regular customer as I am on Maltby Street!

I must say, there is a nice vibe about the place. The staff are great and very friendly, especially Lilai, Sam, Rose and their new amazing manager Anna. I had an amazing experience through the choices of drinks and food to choose from. The pizzas that Cono had fixed up for my friends and myself were mind blowing!!! My overall experience was great and I would recommend this pub to anyone. Keep up the good work guys!! ☺️

If you’re a fan don’t go to this branch! Turned up 40 minutes before closing time and it was closed which was disappointing after making the journey. Also beware of where you park as wardens will literally pull up and charge you at any time of day or night

This is a very convenient cafe in the side of London bridge station. Coffee is good as Caffe Nero coffee. The downside is the size, quite small with a few tables but manageable. Tables have double sockets for charging phones or laptops. It is busy at the counter but the side room is quiet enough. Does not offer proper cups but only takeaway. The service could do with some improvement as some of the staff is not great at customer service. The croissants would be nice if warm for the price you paid them. One negative is that on a cold day I was sitting at a table with cold air blowing on my neck. As said a convenient spot with good coffee so for sure I will call again in the future.
