My team and I had a fantastic Christmas night out at here. Nicole, our host (as well as her staff) went above and beyond to ensure our experience was enjoyable as well as memorable. The drinks were served promptly, and the food was delightful. Overall, a great evening filled with excellent service.

My husband and I dined last Friday evening. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere to it. There was a slight wait for our wine, however, the only blimp may I add. The food!! This is not your normal hotel. The food was simply outstanding. It is more than worth a visit even if you are not staying at the hotel. We couldn’t help but look at other diners meals to see what we can try on our next visit. The manageress had taken the time to get to know us and found out it was my husbands birthday. After our meal, Nicole invited us to a lovely room in the lounge area and offered us a blanket along with my husbands favourite whisky on her to celebrate! Thank you.

Lovely staff but undertrained. Sadly the food was terrible. One small scallop 14 pounds which wss undercooked and I ended up being violently sick. Monkfish nice but sauces had very little taste and didn't pour onto plate and had to spoon it out. Billing issues upstairs. Ruined our night once the vomiting started. Never going back.

Visited the bar with a friend as I had heard good things about the cocktail menu and I definitely wasn't disappointed. George knew the menu like the back of his hand, really added to the experience, and it made a lot more sense when he told me he had designed the whole thing himself! Great time all round, will definitely be back!

Amazing night at Highyard upstairs in the Commons Club..Staff were amazing, so friendly, welcoming & professional..We were so well looked after with snacks and drinkies all night and the bar catered for our off menu cocktail requests .. You have to try the Shiver me Timbers which is not on the menu but is the grown up version of the shots we had from the lovely lady on arrival when she heard we were celebrating a special occasion.. The dj on the night we were there was playing some very chill tunes from his well placed spot in the outside area , think Cafe Del Mar vibes :-) The set up of the Highyard areas is very welcoming and the bathrooms were very funky with the mirrored walls .. The prices were on a par with other classy cocktail venues in the city and there are also some nice beers on tap and bottled.. We will be back :-) :-)

Into the ground floor bar, is it the "Commons Club" ? Loads of staff on a Saturday pm mostly chatting to each other. No great style with its huge columns and "jail house" bars look. Great floor. No nibbles either given or offered for sale. Service charge added to expensive drinks.

I was visiting the Riverside museum with my four-year-old son and I just wanted somewhere to sit and have a bite to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly I got a bacon roll which was just right and a nice cup of tea. My son had some toast and butter along with some snacks from home. The view of the tall ship is really the best part of the cafe although I was pleasantly surprised to see they do serve alcohol during the lunch service. I've included pictures of the menu to help others.

Very disappointed and confused as to when this tea room is actually open until. It seems to be whatever mood they’re in. When you Google it says they close at 5:30 on a Thursday and on trip advisor, open until 6:30 on Thursdays. I was with 1 friend and along with 6 other possible customers we proceeded up the stairs at 5:05 to be told they were closing early today? Was it just that day or in general when open until 5:30 they close at 5:05? We said we only wanted a cup of tea no food and would be done by 5:30 but not interested. If you go into a shop or supermarket that closes at 5:30 they are open to 5:30 not 5:05 very unusual managing of a business.

A great location and full of goodies you would not find at weight watchers! Went for two lattes with sides of vic sponge and a Bakewell tart. Thought the tart was a little too wet. Coffees were fine, but what makes me quite cross is when you get dirty cutlery. Photo attached. The detail separates the amateurs from the professionals.

I have got to be totally honest here. The staff were absolutely fantastic 11/10 but the food was inedible. I mean really bad. The chicken burger although it was very big....was bad. Funny texture.....one of the worst I've had anywhere. The curry was very bland and watery. The steak pie thing was.....I actually doesn't know what to say......I'll stick to real...bad. Absolutely go for the alcohol as they do good offers and it's cheap. The staff honestly just couldn't have been better. Also brilliant with dogs. For food I just couldn't ever recommend.....so so soooooo unfortunate :( x
