Great café and great location! Tried some of the best cocktails in London. Will definitely be back ! Thanks again for making our evening special.

The food is lovely, but the staff are so rude? Me and my friend came in today and were nothing but polite to the people serving. We we looked up and down, told we couldn’t sit in, to which we said that’s fine we’ll sit outside! Then she couldn’t hear me ( as it was busy) instead of saying excuse me she said WHAT?! We brushed this off and sat outside. Then we’re told the banana bread we ordered was sold out.. that’s fine. We chose something different, when the guy brought this out he went are you table 33? Yes we said.. “would never of known you’ve put your table number completely the wrong way” as he held our food… why the lecture? So I unneeded and cold. We’ve literally just come to enjoy some coffee and food! Genuinely wouldn’t come back as the atmosphere of the staff is so incredibly poor.

Asked for GF toast waited 30mins and got sourdough bread told them not to bother I had waited to long GF options are just 2 lots for vegans they have a choice GF don't shall not be going back

Banana bread is a delicious treat, as is the goats cheese fig jam toastie to go along with a matcha or chai latte… they offer alternative milks with no additional cost, and it’s a cosy setting to have a little break in. Might be slightly more difficult to find a seat during weekdays as there are a lot of people working on laptops—-

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves an atmospheric, candle lit bar for an evening out… the cocktails were delicious and so pretty! The staff were super attentive and the little shop was hard to resist, already know I’ll be back to experience the coffee in the day - thank you!!

We went for the cocktail night on a Friday and had the most impressive and delicious cocktails I’ve ever had! Such a meticulously thought out menu and such high quality! The candle-lit atmosphere was truly wonderful also! This is definitely our new go-to!

The new cocktail menu at Common is so tasty!! The cocktails are unique and go down a treat. The cafe is the perfect environment to catch up with friends over a drink or two and the staff and inviting and lovely!

We were lucky enough to sample ‘Common Late’ and it was brilliant! Delicious cocktails offered with knowledgeable bar staff. A really good selection of mocktails too which was a nice change- and they look like proper cocktails too, not just juice with a garnish. Nibbles offered and the atmosphere with candles, music and general decorations was really lovely. A great start to an evening and can’t wait to go back. Prices were really reasonable too. Great to have somewhere new to try out and will be becoming my new favourite.

Review not taken down because was innaccurate. It was 100% accurate. I edited review to add more detail. Unfriendly, stand offish, disrespectful staff. Unable to accept or discuss feedback. Lack of accountability or transparency. Didn’t eat or drink here as interaction and response with staff made me spend my money elsewhere. From other reviews, it is cleat owner/manager does not respond well to critique, feedback or skilled in conflict resolution.

Really nice vibe and laptop friendly. I’ve tried toasti and pastries, they were okay. Coffee was good. One thing to note, if you come here during peak lunch time it is almost impossible to get a table.

Inaccurate closing times, they turn off their coffee machines 45 minutes before the time they say they close. Would be useful if they would either update their timings or stick to their word.

Food is overpriced and really mediocre. Took 35 minutes to come.

Cute cafe with vintage furniture for an apothecary vibe. They also sell a few lifestyle items and gifts. I tried the elevated banana bread which was beautifully presented. They have outside seating. On my visit it was frequented by women with their laptops.

Can't really rave enough about this place. Chilled vibes, perfect for working in! Lovely staff, all keen to help but don't hover, always looking busy and cheerful, and often having a laugh, which brightens up the whole cafè🧡 the menu is all "feel good food" and the goats cheese and walnut salad is so good, I literally die and come back to life just to eat it and die again and then repeat the process! Would score it a million stars if I could 🤤🤤🤤🤤 ( Also great for takeaway coffees and food, with the cutest lil shop attached!)

This place is in a really nice spot, and they sure do serve coffee, but when I went up to order I was greeted by four of the whitest fifteen year olds you've seen, all deplorably mid, all avoiding eye contact as one of them struggled to maneuver slices of banana back into the display while talking about being an only child in the poshest accent you've ever heard. A full ten seconds passed before I got served. Count that time in your head. One of the most surreal coffee shop encounters of my life, and unmistakably Clapham. Someone please tell me these were the ghosts of some gross Victorian kids. I had to shower.

Very cute place with the atmosphere of this cozy district. The interior and exterior are amazing. Some great food was spotted here, so I would guess if it looks good - it tastes good too. Coffee is provided by the Assembly coffee roasters, and we all know - it is a level ;) The pastry is good and goes very fast. A small shop with some stuff is available as well. Lively

Great that we managed to get a table for 2 at 11:30 on a Saturday. This place has a really nice and open interior and pavement seating too. For £12 we got two coffees and a piece of carrot cake. The cake was delicious, spiced and not dry. The coffees could have been stronger, but otherwise a great place.

Surprisingly average cafe. We've been 4-5 times, really tried to enjoy it. The staff are stand off-ish and the coffee is genuinely terrible - over extracted (burnt) and milk extremely hot.

Great place, perfect location, relaxing vibes, stuff super friendly, perfect for a Sunday afternoon brunch, we also bought some stuff for the house from their little shop. Jesse, I think the manager, was an absolute lovely person and very helpful. Over all great place great people!

Lovely cafe atmosphere right on Clapham Common the rustic chemist style decor was excellent, unfortunately this was as good as it got. Ordering was slow with a member of staff who evidently hadn’t had the till properly explained to them but the real shocker in the ordering and payment process which you do at the counter before you have received anything, was that the staff member reached around the till and added a 5 pound service charge herself on the card machine! Considering we seated ourselves, found our own water, and ordered ourselves this appeared almost ludicrous. Such concerns were supported when we waited around 35 minutes for two toasties! The lunch itself was nice enough but nothing as extravagant as the menu described it. The real let down of the experience and what threatens to ruin the relaxed and charming common atmosphere is the large bin and dirty dishes section the staff have in use right next to the tables. Definitely a coffee shop thriving more off looks than substance

A lovely cafe and shop at Clapham Common. Having walked past it over several years, we finally visited the Common for brunch. The cafe was busy but we were lucky to get a table outside without a very long wait. The menu is limited and that's always a good sign of freshness from the kitchen. The coffee was good and the eggs were nice too. The salad dressing was a tad bit sweet. The shop has some cool stuff as well. A nice spot for brunch if one is ever around Clapham Common. Service was very slow but that's because there was few staff for a full cafe.

Coffee is decent I'll give them that. Went during a relatively busy time, but no reason for staff to be inattentive and rude. Especially guy with long hair behind the counter - full of attitude. Not coming back. Avoid!

The life drawing event in the evening is a hit, and wholesome food for a catching up, or table for one relaxation.

Nice café/store in an old chemist. Went on a Sunday, and there were plenty of tables inside. The waiters could have been a little bit kinder, but the toasted banana bread was great!

I wanted to like this place so much ! The place is gorgeous and the waiter was so lovely (overwhelmed and still lovely) but the food is a BIG BIG disappointment. I live far from Clapham but I’ve seen so many beautiful pictures of the French toast so I came to try it. The waiter told me it was a 40min wait in the kitchen and I was fine to wait for something that looked so delicious. When it came it was not what I’ve seen in pictures. It was two tasteless pieces of VERY thin "brioche" toasted with lots of yogurt and 3 blueberries. I ate it because after waiting for so long I was starving but EWWW not good at all. I also ordered a croissant thinking that it was a safe choice but it was so dry. The iced coffee was good. Definitely never coming back for food.

As you can see we ate some toasties that were very nice but the star of our meal was this fantastic salad. Great service, good food, we had a nice moment.

Best peanut butter banana honey gluten free sourdough toast ever. So good I had to check it was gluten free. Been craving it ever since.

Let's start with the good - great coffee and lovely venue and nice staff but I had a vegan salad - I kid you not a bit of rocket, a few tomatoes, a bit of grated carrot and I counted 30 tinned chickpeas . No dressing . Sum calorie total probably 120 (great if you're dieting!) cost to make 80p. My friend had a slightly better but uninspiring salad too. No bread etc.. He also had an average smoothie and me a lovely coffee. We had wanted soup but were told they don' t do soup on weekends as it takes too long - yeah go figure.... We couldn't bother to debate how putting soup into a bowl takes a long time. Instead we ordered our pathetic salads that took 40 minutes to arrive. Any how....The bill comes to £36.20. I have to redo the maths several times as I could not believe it! Then starving went and bought a £5 sandwich from the street market. Only regret is I did not take photos - it was one of those after the facts shock.

I came in last Saturday morning for a chai latte and was astounded by the atmosphere in Common. The staff are incredibly friendly and don’t shy away from having a lighthearted laugh. Beautiful decor too!

My partner and I go for brunch all the weekends. They have gluten free bread and that makes a big difference! Their chocolate in their cappuccino is delicious. I recommend the avocado & feta toast, just yummy. And the team is great!! :)

Lovely welcoming place to have coffee and work or go for brunch. Great location on a nice day, it does get quite busy as it’s a prime spot but otherwise can’t complain- delicious food and friendly staff!

Welcome and relaxing atmosphere for an afternoon coffee. Friendly and helpful service, lots of coffee and tea choices. There are some delicious snacks and sweets also. In this cafe there are also many nice ideas for presents or to decorate your home.

I love this place, yes, its terribly trendy but never too cool for skool..always friendly (now that it has a good team) and with a good atmosphere for either chatting with pals or working. Decent coffee and cakes. Top atmosphere.

I am not overly impressed with this place. The staff was nice but you can tell they were told to get the tables move fast. I had an “interview” whether I will be eating or drinking coffee only before I was pointed to a table. It is a coffee shop for crying out loud! Especially with the coffee priced at over £4 you could at least make an impression that the guests are welcome regardless of the size of their order. Banana bread was dry and boring. Coffee was good. As I said - staff is polite but the managers/owners need to take a chill pill and make guests feel more welcome.

Spent over £40 on two toasties, a couple of cakes and two smoothies. I had to return my smoothie as it was just basically flavoured water and the cakes were old and subsequently very dry. As for the toasties, they’ve halved in size! Such a shame, used enjoy coming here.

A lovely spot in Clapham with natural decorations of woods and soft tones, exquisite music taste and very friendly staff. The coffee is good and the salmon bagel with avocado on the side is delicious. Highly recommend!

Very expensive. Coffee sit in 4.20 and displayed only TA prices. Table service poor: coffee in a glass, no soucer, no spoon, no sugar, and tasteless coffee. 4.20 exactly for what ? Than I asked for TA as IN Is simply an acceptable price, and the person was behind counter did the change with till but didn’t updated card machine and so system was not update so I payed anyway 4.2 and I end up having sit in. Barista service was simply awful!

Awful customer service rude staff overpriced food

Some staff has changed over the past months and this is reflected by a better and friendlier service. Tried the French toasts and the avocado toast and both were very good.

Cute little place that will become one my favorite go-to in Clapham! Staff are very friendly, and the coffee was nice. Loved the cosy interiors, and they have a big range of different products as well! Love it :)

Had the brunch here, really fresh food, and tasted great. (Sourdough avocado smash). This is a terrific meeting place and a load of people were working, not being hassled, but they did order drinks/food, so the system works. Waitress was really helpful, sorted chairs, brought water without being asked. I will return...

This place is made for instagram, not dining: it’s pretty, but the food is just… really bad. The “organic salad” was four leaves of lettuce slathered with wet unseasoned couscous and a few vegetables, topped with stale, days-old falafel – a bad joke. The French toast was microwaved Hovis with half an egg burnt onto the bottom, drenched in store brand jam and yogurt. Coffee is just fine.

Quite a good cafe in this fancy building but certain comforts are lacking like, for example, the seats.

Food nice, experience let down by staff unpacking a large delivery of new chairs and the cafe being filled with cardboard and the sound of tape being ripped off. This should have been done out of hours or in a back room, not in front of customers who then get to sit next to a pile of cardboard boxes

A hybrid of cafe, gift shop and wine bar, this place is popular among locals for brunch. Sit outside on either pavement, under retractable shade, or inside and enjoy very photogenic brunch choices. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Shocking service. Unfortunately the staff ekk arrogance. Particularly the girl with really curly hair - absolutely shocking. Very poor organization, no staff had a clue what was going on with table management. No wait list and was told to go away and come back in 30 mins and then it’ll be first in, first serve. Will not ever visit again!

Visited Common and a lovely guy seated me, super polite and friendly. I then got my laptop out to do some work. However his manager then spoke within clear ear shot of me saying he needed to tell me to shut my laptop because it’s illegal. If she had such a problem, why could she not come and say it? But instead got someone else to. He was really apologetic and said I was fine to work as long as I didn’t stay too long but the rudeness of his manager made the whole experience really uncomfortable. She didn’t need to be so rude and unprofessional. I still bought food and drink, what difference does me having my laptop out have?

Had great experiences here since I started coming regularly in the last few weeks. Lovely atmosphere, great staff and first class coffee and cakes. Extremely rude manager today - first time I had seen her. She explained when I arrived that I would have to move to the back when a painting group arrived - fair enough. I duly moved to the back after some time and soon afterwards was told I had to leave as my table was needed. I remonstrated politely with the manager, telling her that I had never before been asked to move twice! I told her I’d been coming regularly and she then asked me to produce receipts! Who keeps receipts for cafes? She was rude in mannner and also manipulative during the conversation. Not exactly an asset to the business!

Nice interior however what I really liked about the place is the staff they were so friendly and I had a nice conversation with them the food and coffee were good however I’ll come back just to say hi to the lovely staff. 🥰

Twice unlucky I guess, been there 2/3 minutes after 8 (official opening time) this week and the place was not open, could see staff inside but no sign of acknowledgement. Ohhhh well.

I love the decor, it's a great place to study but I don't think I'll be buying anymore cappuccinos here. I've given the place several chances and everyone has served a cappuccino with hardly any froth and that's not how it's supposed to be. I used to be a barista and so I can say this. Plus the cup size is small and price is 3.80 to have in. It's not worth it. Also, I don't like the system of the barista bringing over the coffee then you have to get back up to sweeten it with the sugar at the barista counter. As for the service, I think it has dropped, the staff don't seem to keep much of an eye on new customers coming in and seating themselves so if you sit down the staff probably haven't noticed and won't come and offer you a menu. Living the door open all the time gets on my nerves a lot as well, you have to put a coat on even though you're inside. I'm giving 3 more than anything for the decor, which is one of the best I've seen for a coffee shop. I also like the long opening times, much longer than other coffee shops in the area. The location is great too, you can see Clapham Common through the windows.

Perfect place for weekend brunch! I had the chai latte and berry French toast! French toast was a perfect sized portion - very filling with a lovely amount of compote, yogurt, and fresh fruit on top. Went on a Saturday at lunch time and they were quite busy but we didn’t have to wait too long for a free table outside overlooking Clapham Common.

Good coffee and a decent selection, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Good background music and not excessively loud. Some chairs not the most comfortable so it's pot luck!
