Good food as always would recommend

Changed in the three years since I've been. Drastically reduced quality. Disappointing.

Lovely food, friendly service, good atmosphere

Went for a takeaway just to try it really. Not at all nice. Place scruffy, doesn't look very clean. Piri powder springled over everything. Fry's very chewy ( how on earth you make Fry's chewy I have no idea) probably the worst take I've had for a long time. Staff not friendly either. I won't be going back.

Went in for a take away this evening. Very poor I would not recommend .Chicken peri peri coating was not crispy but soggy , I think the chicken had been warmed up under a grill .Chicken laid on top of salad so salad was soggy and warm .Fries were hard and frankly inedible .Please don't waste your money. It was expensive in comparison to other take aways in Wellington .The shop and kitchen were scruffy and not hygiene looking.

I never received my order. The time is now 2100 and my delivery was due at 1925. Never arrived Phoned the proprietor devalue time only to be told that he will speak to his manager and then hung up

Awesome chicken and the salad is amazing too. The guy doing the cooking is lovely aswell as the delivery staff 👌

Amazing value for money! We are visiting Wellington and wanted a quick and easy take away. We ordered the Comely Special Family Deal and couldn't believe the quality and quantity you get for the money. Hats off to the staff here. We had plenty of food for the 4 of us, including 2 hungry teenage boys, and still more left over once we were all done. For anyone contemplating buying from here you wont be disappointed. My particular favourites were the boneless thighs and piri piri chips but everything we received was top class. Thank you!

What a place… can’t wait to tuck in to this chicken again… my personal fave is the hot half a chicken and spicy fries! They do nice wraps and even the salad is nice too.

I love comely’s just wish they would be more customer service focused, like answer there phone or update google as to when they are open and closed. Update, I believe comely’s is now under new management and the food quality has gone right down hill, won’t be using again.

Food is amazing, not greasy like other take aways, so a good one to try if you usually suffer after Chinese or Indian take away. all the lads that work there are really friendly and nice.

Used to be absolutely amazing but seems like they have new owners now and the quality is nowhere near where it was. Mild wings hotter than those labelled hot, chips soggy with too much peri peri seasoning. So disappointed

Raw chicken, late delivery, poor excuses.

I have ordered twice from Comely over the past couple weeks. Both times the order has been cancelled just before collection and the takeaway states it isn’t open. It’s quite confusing when it lets you order in Just Eat but doesn’t open to be open at all recently.

Ordered food for delivery at 5:30 pm to be delivered at 6:30 pm but got a message at 6:20 saying our order had been cancelled. Very dissatisfied and won’t be ordering from them again.

Gave us the wrong food and then didn’t even pick up the phone to sort it out ..... avoid can’t even deliver the right food

Best peri peri chicken in all somerset

If it was not for the food being tasty it would have 1star. First order took one and a half hours to come, we finally got it at10.45 pm as they kept taking it to the wrong address even though they had my number and I rang twice to see where it was. they didn’t charge us and to be honest was so hungry we just eat the congealed cheesy chips and warm burgers. We left it a couple of months before ordering again, delivery was gonna be one hour so thought I would drive and get it 3 burgers one no tomato, one plain non spicy just chicken and cheese, one normal, some chips and BBQ wings, Not that difficult you would think ? But they got the plain non spicy one wrong it came as normal I rang and was asked if I wanted to go back, I didn’t as everything else would have been cold. So that two takeaways two mistakes. Third time lucky? I will let you know in another couple of months if we go back

Thought I would try out because of good review and friends recommendations I must of got them on a bad day my burger was burnt I wish I could take a pic of the wedges not one bigger than my finger nail but the chicken was nice

I really don't know what all the hype is tbf. I came away feeling disappointed and confused why everyone would compare this to Nando's . It is a basic shop which sells a very limited menu. The chips are undercooked and the chicken would hardly a kick to it. The place itself is in need of a new cooker as the fumes take your breath away when you walk in. I will only return if I was to see a vast improvement .

~ EXCITING NEWS, WELLY ~ FORGET EVERYTHING YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THE PREVIOUS TAKEAWAY IN UPPER MANTLE STREET. So, let's talk about the new takeaway in Mantle Street (opposite Black Sheep/The Emporium), Comely. We decided to try it tonight as it's pretty close to home and let's be honest, it looks gorgeous in there from the street. Forget EVERYTHING you thought about the previous takeaway/owners that were there. These lovely people have completely revamped the place, cleaned it from head to toe and released a gorgeous menu. I got chatting to them while my food was cooking and they were talking about how hard they've worked to get the place up to their highest standards before they dish up our dinner this Saturday night. Not only did they rip apart a previously shoddy building, they spent 3 months more than planned to make sure that the place was clean and food safe in every corner. Everybody in Comely are beautiful, lovely people and are very excited to bring something new to our little town. The food.. the food is stunning. I honestly have nothing bad to say. My dinner was cooked while I waited (not sat under heat lamps waiting to be purchased) and after my walk home, was still piping hot. The food is served in all recyclable packaging (even the bags are paper! Go environment hero's). I quite often find that takeaways make me feel a bit 'eugh' afterwards and I don't usually feel like I've eaten a decent meal. I usually just feel like I wish I hadn't eaten that food and my body always agrees. Well, I'm excited to say that this tasted like home cooking, but served piping hot in recyclable tin and paper, and I didn't have to cook it. I don't feel 'eugh'. I certainly DON'T regret getting dinner there and on a different note, my pocket feels pretty good after it too. The food is exceptional quality. The prices are VERY reasonable (I'm going to be honest here and say that I popped in for a second batch of their potato wedges for the road because they were gorgeous and so well priced). The service is fast and friendly and I genuinely feel a kind, 'excited-to-be-here' vibe from all of the staff in there. Most of their menu is chicken based and I've heard quite a few people describing it as 'Wellington Nandos', but I'd be happy to say that it's better (Nandos makes me feel 'eugh' too). Genuine, clean, reasonably priced, environmentally friendly home cooking right on our doorstep. Go check it out, Welly (AND you can order from Just Eat if you're not in the mood for a journey out in the cold, but I fully recommend going down and talking to the lads and ladies there. They're lovely and really eager to integreate learn, be part of and learn more about Wellington.)
