Have used this fish & chip shop for years & raved about it to others. However, had a large cod, chips & mushy peas for £13. Awful rock hard batter, lukewarm chips, mushy peas were ok. A real disappointment, will go elsewhere in future.

Wow what can I say about the fish and chips brought from the star fish bar, the fish was delicious fresh and cooked to perfection. The fish literally melted in my mouth and the chips tasted amazing also very fresh and to top off my meal I had a pot of mushy peas. The staff were very polite and friendly and the service was excellent from start to finish, I would recommend that if you’re ever in Taunton and looking for a great place to get fish and chips the Star Fish Bar is definitely worth a visit.

Starfish Bar, you're amazing, Just ordered on just eat, food arrived really quickly and was really hot, I tried to do a review on Just eat but couldn't find an option for it,I've ordered on just eat a few times now from Starfish bar always a great experience, I usually order jacket potato beans and cheese nuggets and gravy, always great food, well done Starfish bar 😊

Great spot, good food and new staff is excellent and very professional. I was very pleasently surprised.

This place continues to impress me with portion, cost and now recyclable containers! Yes! Cardboard dishes and cup for the food and mushy peas!!! No more polystyrene flavoured food from melted trays.

Ordered a delivery through Uber . Large cod , standard chips and a pea fritter . The chips and pea fritter were ok but the cod ! The batter was thin , dry and just odd , hardly any fish within the batter and certainly didn’t seem like a large portion . Always enjoyed the food here but this was an expensive let down .

Fish & Chips again today 26 august As usual top quality I wouldn't go anywhere else. Only place that knows how to cook fish & chips properly. Haven't been here for a while due to covid. Hasn't changed a bit .Still the same excellent smiling helpful service and still the best fish & chips in Taunton. To top things the girl serving recognised me even with my mask on. SERVICE AND QUALITY AS ALWAYS.

Walked in and really friendly, wasn't busy but not many chippys I go in that are at lunch time unless they in Town centre. Prices seem excellent, I haven't had regular chips for under £2.50 in a very long time. Reg chips and jumbo battered sausage for less than a fiver is rare now days. Chips are nice, super good portion size, sausage nice and batter was just right, not to much or too thin and nice little crunch. If I'm this way again I will stop for sure.

I was unfortunate enough to get only what I could describe as the dregs of the day, the chips were dark in colour and tough to eat, the cod was dry and separating and the batter was tough, I spent £9.50 on my fish supper & £9 of it went in the bin. I messaged them but no reply! I shan't ever go to that shop again for my fish supper. I should of taken a photo of it, but I was so fed up I just binned the lot!

Driving down the M5 to Devon. Suddenly had a chip craving. Detoured in to Taunton and found the Star, so glad we did. Open in the day, massive portions of chips and lovely staff. Highly recommend!

First time I ordered delivery from this chippy. Haddock very tasty and batter crisp. Chips tasty too and good portion. Definitely order again and recommend.

So crispy and delicious fish and chips. Wanna to try the fried chicken and burger next time. Must come again. Super delicious fish and chips. The noodles are crispy and tender, not much oil, the place is super clean and very high quality

Nearly 10 quid for a piece of Cod that was average, then extra for Chips etc etc. Other chippies in town that aren't a rip off. will not be using again

I love this shop but ordering with ubereat is so expensive. £9.50 for large fish and £5.10 for cheeseburger, £4.00 for large chips is extortionate so have stopped using them

They asked us to repeat the order 3 times and we ordered 2 pieces of cod roe and we got bread rolls I couldn't be bothered driving back and wasting petrol I will not be going back to this chip shop

Very friendly and quick service. Very generous portion size for the money. Excellent flavour in all products I've had. Yes there is always a Que outside but that speaks for itself with the quality.

Wonderful shop with friendly staff and great food. We have to eat gluten free so are really happy that they have a gluten free menu and that they use a separate fryer for this. That they use Ubereats is a real plus. Portion sizes are great too!

Really good food and great service & very clean

Excellent food, especially as it was gluten free with a wide range of options available and no extra charge for this. The service was very friendly and welcoming both in person and on the phone with card payments accepted. All the gluten free food is cooked in a separate fryer, cooked fresh to order and was only waiting around 10 minutes. Highly recommended as the food was really nice, full of flavour, and not greasy at all. Was labelled as gluten free with stickers and wrapped well. If you are in the area, give it a go!!

Me and my sister went here to try out our local fish and chip shop and were quite excited to try it due to hearing good things about this place. We arrived, ordered and paid for our food. We then wait inside the shop for our order to be cooked with 2 other customers and were told to leave due to my sister not wearing a face mask. My sister who is only 16 and has a disability that means she is unable to wear a mask. This was explained to staff here and we were still made to stand outside. This experience has left her feeling as if she has done something wrong in order to be treated differently when in actual fact she only has a disability. I am absolutely appalled at this service! The staff did also not understand that this is discrimination due to disability. Wouldn’t not recommend.

Great gluten free offering! Ordered on the phone, ready for the collection time, everything as expected, big portions! Great value! Keep doing gluten free as it sets you apart. And the separate fryer makes it safe for coeliacs. Consider getting coeliac uk accreditation? We will be back!

Disappointed. Heard great things about this place. The portion of chips was huge, as promised, but they were only so-so. The fish had clearly been cooked some time before; pretty tough and not very nice. We may have been unlucky and visited at the wrong time, but we shan't go back.

As we were staying overnight at The Cornish Farm Touring Park with our caravan we were looking for a good "Chippy". This was recommended by the site. We has three lots of Fish n Chips, which were huge and lovely so highly recommended but would suggest 2 meals for 3 next time ?

Ordered fish & chips via uber eats. The food was delivered at the time they said & the delivery guy was very polite. The food was superb. Piping hot & lovely & fresh. Portion size was huge. Well worth the money.

Arrived foolishly just before 12 ordered fish and chips and was given the reheated fish from yesterday. Absolutely foul I'm taking fifty percent fault on this as at my age I should know never to be first in a chippy at lunch. I live meters from this place I will drive elsewhere in future

My first visit and not my last they were so helpful as im dairy free and cooked fresh my food and checked ingredients for me and showed me the ingredients as well and wow what a portion of chips enough for 2 really best chippy in the town i say and had a good chat about motorcycles and the tt fantastic service thank you

I dont know what oil they use but the chips I got tonight from Taunton Star fish bar were hard, dry, and like cardboard. I wouldn't give to children as I was worried they would choke, and we left the chips Everything else was fine.
