Staff were amazing, especially Maksa. The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel has so much history. Perhaps a better selection for breakfast, having hot food to choose from, too, but overall, a lovely weekend. The situation of the hotel was perfect. Would definitely visit again

In search of a place to stay following a concert in Hyde Park, me and my friend settled upon The Colonnade due to its proximity to the event and its seemingly stylish interior - this was our first mistake. The Colonnade's online gallery is incredibly deceiving; pictures will lead you to believe that your room will be richly decorated, however, hairs in the bath and an outdated television (from the 50s?!) convinced me otherwise. Aesthetics aside, the bed was comfortable and perfectly met our needs for a place to stay overnight, but unfortunately does not excuse the lack of amenities in the room and, worst of all, the breakfast scam. Upon booking, one can choose whether to include breakfast in their stay for a small additional fee. My friend and I fell into this trap. No matter how small the extra cost, breakfast is absolutely not worth your money. A 'continental' buffet is arranged in the hotel's basement, consisting of fruit which is clearly overripe, stale pastries, room temperature yoghurt and cereal dispensers. The service at breakfast is lacking; at one point we were checked on by a member of staff and offered some orange juice, of which we naively accepted and were once again disappointed by. We left breakfast abruptly to grab our luggage and check out, only to be waiting at the desk for 20 minutes before we were finally granted our freedom. The Colonnade is a cheap place to stay, however its affordable prices do not excuse its poor service and facilities.

Please be aware.. Website pictures are from far in the past. Hotel is very run down. Hot water barely works or is off. Elevator, Out of service sign the full week I was there. Ceiling leaked every time it rains, was given a bucket, after requesting. Housekeeping & breakfast staff great. Front desk staff, the worst ever. Please look elsewhere for a hotel. This hotel is only 4 stars in its past.

What to say and where to start? The smell in the reception? The standard of venue? Fantastic location in marvelous area. Tube very close and great cafes and restaurants next door. Lovely building impacted by low and no upgrades. We were relocated here from another hotel - is this their business model? Overbooking one location and transfer to this dump? Didn’t see the rats another review mentioned, but smelly, crappy standard. Just imaging what this could be with right owners and some upgrades. Stay away.

Stayed here on 19th April as we had booked into another hotel that could no longer accommodate us, so moved us to this hotel. When we looked at the website, we were pleasantly surprised that they’d moved us here as it looked much nicer than where we had originally booked. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lady that wasn’t very pleasant, but told us where our room was and sent us on our way. We were on the 4th floor (room 41) and the very old creeky lifts only go to floor 2. The rooms decor wasn’t great, but that was the least of our problems. There was only one towel in the room (even though it was booked for 2 people) - asked for more towels and none showed up so my husband had to go down and ask tor some late at night. The man who was now on reception had no idea where to find anymore towels and was only able to put his hand on a hand towel so we had to make do with that. The room was freezing cold, and the bed very uncomfortable. There was a noise that went on all night, like some sort of generator, so didn’t sleep well at all. I am not sure how this hotel has a 4 star rating, it’s definitely dodgy! It definitely isn’t even a 1 star. Very strange place, please avoid at all costs. No hot water either.

This hotel is no where near 4 stars, the first day we got there we dropped our bags and left to explore London so did not notice anything. Coming back out 'deluxe' room had no pillow cases or towels and our fridge was mouldy foul smelling and not working so a complete health hazard. Plus the curtain had a huge hole in not four star behavior. Also we noticed a urine stain which we thought was from previous customers but to our horror it was not.. The second day/night we again left to explore London got back late after a lovely meal out my partner went to use the toilet and let out a scream I've never heard come from him. A RAT yes a rat crawled across his feet and underneath the bath (was not advertised we would have a room mate) as my partner went down to complain yet again I went round the room ensuring our friend hadn't invited more of his friends round to party whilst we was out. Looking closer at everything there was four cigarette butts on top of the wardrobe and underneath all furniture was filthy. I've never experienced anything like it. To top it off they must be aware they have a rat issue as there was a trap under the bed which was not noticed as this is something I do not go looking for when booking a 'nice' hotel. I refused to even attempt to go for breakfast as who knows what's crawling through that hotel. What should have been a relaxing birthday surprise for my partner was anything but that. I have stayed in cleaner hostels its a joke that this has not been closed down and they have the cheek to advertise as a four star hotel. I have learnt my lesson to not go by pretty pictures but to read the honest reviews.

Tout était au TOP. La junior suite nous a été proposée dès notre arrivée en surclassement sans aucun supplément. Très grand confort, très jolie vue, personnel adorable et très chaleureux, situation géographique idéale juste à côté des bus et métros. Bref, séjour PARFAIT ! Et excellent rapport qualité /prix! Not 4 stars hotel. Dilapidated. No maintenance. Is is falling apart. If they were at least generous with the breakfast which is only packaged bread, ham and cheese and if you are lucky some juice (it ran out out two times). No face towels. Second day they did not leave a bathroom floor mat so it ended up all wet. We were in a basement room. Supposedly an upgrade but you could feel the vibration from heavy vehícules. The only thing I can say in favor is the location and that our room was clean. Some people were complaining, among other things, that they offered them a ful English breakfast but they only responded that it was a mistake in their website. The extra price for it would be 15. I would not stay unless the price is really really low.

We stayed for 3 nights in October 2022. The toilet didn’t flush. There was no mattress cover. The mattress was marked with the memories of past occupants. The curtains were torn. In the second room we were offered( because the toilet wasn’t fixed) the chair collapsed . The TV also had to be fixed. The mattress was in worse condition. This is a third rate hotel in a first rate location, very expensive for what it offers.

OMG! Run from this place! They are, sorry Iranian scam artists. We first visited there in 2018 and it was wonderful. Now it’s a total scam. Upon arriving they tell you your CC didn’t go through so they charge you again! Plaster was falling into the bathroom. Lift was not working. Got angry when you asked for towels, no real hot water in the shower. UGH! So sad because it’s a wonderful neighborhood. Don’t go there!

Worst hotel ever stayed in. Dirty and scratty. Got charged months ago for the room even though i chose the option to pay on the day .. spent months trying to contact them to be told continuously that someone would call back and they never did. Arrived at hotel for check in to find they had charged me again for the full amount. Trying to get the staff to help was impossible, got lied to aswell. Fire alarm went off at 2am for no reason. No hairdryer in room when it stated all the rooms have one .. and they still couldn’t give me one even though I asked twice. DO NOT bother with the breakfast unless u want food poisoning .. all there was was food all laid out open with flies on and all the things that should be refrigerated like milk, yoghurts etc was just warm , Ordered a coffee which came in the filthiest mug ever. To get into the breakfast room was a broken washing machine with a pipe half sticking out into the doorway to which we had to step over. DO NOT be fooled by the pictures on their website and the good reviews that are on there as that’s the mistake I made .. when I looked at other booking sites for This hotel they were all horrendous

Nothing like compared to the photos on line..We arrived and we’re told to wait while he was dealing with a problem to then be told our booking was declined even though I had chosen to pay at the hotel but was told that’s not what they had even though I should it on my phone. Was told it would be another 20minutes for them to sort it out.. Then my husband was asked for Photo ID which he didn’t have so I asked to show mine and that seemed to be an issue.. rooms eventually sorted but we were then taken up 4 different flight of stairs along a very hot corridor lift was broken ..To our room the room itself was all right but the cleanliness is something that would need looking into it was awful room was not clean the glasses had marks on them.. there was a brown stain on one of the towels in the bathroom so no towels were used just used our clothes.. Toilet roll holder was broken and the blind in the bathroom to cover the window was half broken in the corner- there was very little hot water the following morning.. The pillow felt like it was designed for a child very small and only one pillow and bed was not comfy at all.. Our friends room the bathroom need re grouting and was not acceptable for use there was mould at the bottoms of the shower door it needed a really good clean, sink plug was dirty, Dust everywhere .. The was damp on the walls leading up to the stairs you could see it through the wall paper.. are other friends room when they opened the curtains there was all the old mattress outside in the court yard, they asked for hairdryer which there room was supposed to come with and was told they had to wait for another room to leave before they could get one It feels like this hotel need to be closed and have a complete renovation as it has potential, location was good for our trip to Wembley, and the surrounding area had some lovely pubs and restaurants to eat in and we managed to park on the road nearby too.. But has advertised as a 4* hotel it certainly is not and wouldn’t have paid to stay here if we had other choices

Eigentlich wollte ich keine Bewertungen mehr schreiben, aber hier muß jeder Interessent gewarnt werden. Hier funktioniert nichts, aber auch gar nichts, weder der Fernseher, die Batterien der Fernbedienung waren auf , die Abdeckung fehlte, das gleiche galt für den Safe, Haartrocknergab es nur bei der Rezeption, der erste gab nach kurzer Zeit den Geist auf, den 2. mußte man in einer bestimmten Stellung halten. Im Bad war der Duschschlauch defekt, dadurch schoß das Wasser außerhalb der Wanne. Zum Glück ist der Wasserdruck nur mäßig. Die Holzumrandung ist marode und unhygienisch. Bei der Toilettenspülung muß man einen lockeren Hebel mehrfach drücken, bis mal Wasser kommt. Die Bezüge beim Sessel sind durch, der Fensterrahmen modert vor sich hin, Der Service ist mäßig, das Zimmer wurde nicht gereinigt oder die Betten gemacht Fazit: hier wird kein Pfund mehr rein gesteckt, sondern nur noch mit Spitzenpreisen Geld rausgezogen. Nie wieder..

I stayed at the Colonnade Hotel in London which I booked through Booking.com. I booked the Studio room in September 2018 for two nights to stay on 30th and 31st December 2018. Then in November 2018, my partner and I decided we would like to stay in London for another night therefore we booked another booking. On the day of the booking, I rang the hotel to confirm that we would definitely be staying in a Studio room which had a balcony, a mini fridge, a double bed and the same room would be available for both booking and all three nights. They confirmed and said they would input it onto their system ready for our arrival in a months time. However when we got to the hotel on 30th December, we were greeted by a lady receptionist who informed us that our room was not yet ready but we could leave our luggage there and they would take it to our room ready for when we could check in, we then went out for the day. When we got back to the hotel late afternoon we were given our room key for room 46. When we got up to the room, it was on the top floor and was a double room. Straight away I went downstairs to reception to complain where a different receptionist admitted to me that it was in fact a double room and they would move us. The receptionist moved us to the ground floor, room 7, which still was not the studio that we booked and was confirmed. The room was dirty, the bath did not look as if it had been cleaned, the bed was two twin beds put together, the 'minifridge' was just a fridge with nothing in it and there was three plug sockets in the room. I was not happy with this room either so I requested the studio we booked but the receptionist informed me that every studio was fully booked as it New Years weekend. I requested to speak to the manager but was told he would not be in till 9am the next day. We had to stay in room 7 for 2 nights. On the morning of 31st December, I went to reception to speak to the manager but he was not there. A different receptionist, a young male this time, told me that the manager was not due in till mid-day. My partner and I went out for breakfast then arrived back at the hotel for 12pm, however the manager was still not present. Then I requested to arrange a meeting with the manager for the evening. The manager never turned up, instead when my partner and I walked into reception, five members of staff were stood discussing our situation in a sarcastic and horrible manner until one member of staff noticed we were stood there. I found this extremely unprofessional. On the 1st January, my partner and I went to reception in the morning to request a studio room again. The receptionist, an older male this time, told us that we needed to check out and it wasn't on there system that we had booked for another night. It took him about 15 minutes to find our additional booking stay. they then finally moved us into a studio in room 34. However, the room was filthy. The bath was dirty like the previous room, the sheets had not been made and there wasn't any toilet roll. There still wasn't a balcony. When checking out on the morning of 2nd January 2019, I requested the manager email address and the customer service email address. The receptionist wrote the email addresses down on a piece of paper. When I got on the train to go back home, I sent an email to both address but it bounced back saying the email addresses were wrong. The hotel had given us a false email address for both the manager and the customer service team.

Really nice part of London and a lovely hotel and furnishings. Unfortunately there we far too many things wrong going on in the room and tv signal, and broken tap heavily leaking. 4 star it definitely wasn't

Avoid the Full Breakfast. Half Breakfast would be a better description. As for the Free Flowing Prosecco, well that depends on whether you make sure the staff pay free flowing attention to you. The Benedicts that others had looked good.
