We enjoyed Home Cottage very much. The staff were attentive, without it being over done. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was very busy. Possibly a little understaffed. The menu choices were creative and food was presented well and served all together. Would definitely recommend and revisit next time we're near Redhill. All in all, well done.

Absolutely fantastic location for a family dinner. Lou was outstanding - she calmly navigated the diverse requests from our family group of 20 making sure everyone enjoyed their evening and never had an empty glass. Food was fab - great example of good british pub food. Highly recommend it.

This is the second time we’ve been but the first time we’ve eaten there. We came back for dinner as we loved the atmosphere the first time went went for just drinks. We were not disappointed the food was brilliant and the staff were lovely and very professional. We would absolutely go back again for dinner and drinks

Sunday the 20th of October. I spent £270 on food and drinks for my family , we add a lovely time with the family and kids. I then came back with only my wife and kids we ordered drinks and sat down waiting for the menu. The manager name is poppy came over and asked us to leave !!! I was in horror and shock !! I ask what did we do and poppy said I don’t have to give you a reason!!! I said we spent a lot of money last week !! Poppy refuse to give me a valid reason and to me this could only come down to racism. I am embarrassed and disappointed. We left with no choice. I was hurt to be honest.

The food is good, but not returaunt good! It's too expensive!. You can go to a proper restaurant for the same price, so why have pub food?.

Great evening at the HC as usual. Burgers were amazing as were Barney and Ronnie who were really attentive and helpful … thanks guys

This is a modern old style pub, dog and kid friendly (only dogs need a lead). I regularly meet a friend who lives locally at the Home Cottage something I have done for several years. Tried a few other venues in the area but this is by far the best. It has a good clientel and is generally not horendously busy or noisy. I have eaten there in both the resturant and at a bar table, they offer both options. They also have a nice garden in the summer. The only drawback is the pub has little parking, but there is usually street parking within a reasonable distance and the railway station is just over the road and round the corner. Give it a try.

We love this pub! The quality of the food is always great, never a disappointment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pub has a great vibe, with a cosy more traditional pub area, a lovely restaurant/dining room, a very nice beer garden. We never had any issues booking a table for just the four of us or for large groups. We highly recommend the Home Cottage!

Was expecting to sit in the restaurant but we were in the pub, thankfully at a proper table as we had our toddler. They didn’t have enough staff on as the pub got a little busy and there was no staff at the front of the pub for people to order food or drink. We did the Sunday roasts, sadly the vegetarian one is a beetroot wellington and tasted awful and was bland. Thankfully the sides on the plate were quite good, though the gravy could have gone better had a tomatoey taste to it. My husband got the chicken roast, he really enjoyed it but could have done with extra gravy on the side as there wasn’t enough on the plate. 2 roasts, 1 glass of 0% Prosecco and 0% Guiness cost us about £50. Decided to get desert from Sainsbury’s as it would be cheaper and probably better quality for price. They did have a nice fire going, so ambience of the pub was very cosy.0

This is a hidden gem. We were staying at the travelodge which is a stones throw away. The food was delicious and staff were friendly. The interior was well decorated and good atmosphere to enjoy our meal.

Beautiful atmosphere and lovely stuff. Definitely recommended to anyone who is looking for a family friendly restaurant. My family did enjoy their meals, everyone ate all their meals. And yeah my oldest son wanted a second burger, because it was so delicious.Unfortunately I had the steamed fish with mussels and steamed potatoes. The sea bass was very tasty and the sauce. However, it could be a little bit more on the sea bass because it's just a bit too smaller portion and I wouldn't have it again because of the portion that was served,But other than that everything was great. Definitely try the fish and chips next time or the burger but the first time visit I had the roast chicken and that was great. So sometime you just have to try different dishes and see how it turns out. I was disappointed with the sea bass portion. That will never put me off from going back to the restaurant cuz it's just a lovely place to be. The environment is lovely and the staffs are lovely and great food and great place to have a family get-together and meet up with friends. Thank you

When we walked in everything was good although there were lots of children . Perhaps it would be good to try and separate large families from the diners without children? The service was good but it seemed that the food was quantity over quality? The vegetables were almost puréed rather than mashed, the potatoes were not freshly cooked but heated up and tasted so. The venison was a tad over cooked. So., lots of quantity but the quality could have been e!

We ate here recently and it was awful. The mashed potato was not fresh and reheated and unseasoned. We sent it back and the same mash came back out with salt on it, even though we were told it was a fresh batch that was made in 7 minutes. The bread on the sandwiches was stale. We received a full refund and will never visit again.

You would think that they could offer more than frozen chips with my Sunday Soecial of grilled Plaice ( so small should have been put back in sea! ) So Disappointed -New Potatoes not on menu !

The food was really tasty traditional food. We ate Roast portions and they were very reminiscent of Finnish traditional food in terms of taste. However, the restaurant also has a large selection of other dishes. The service was a bit stiff, but overall the runnel was ok!

Attended the Paint and Sip night, and had such a great evening! Manon and Franky were such wonderful hosts, really encouraging and helpful throughout the evening. I loved that you were able to follow a theme and the painting that was made for demonstration but also do your own thing. It was so well organised and presented beautifully when we arrived. The drinks and food we got were all very nice too. Overall a lovely experience and I hope they do another one!

I've spotted this lovely place driving by from time to time over the years, and finally had the time to stop today and see what it's all about, a lovely comfortable place to be at. Only went for a drink but the food menu looks amazing and I will be back to try very soon!

Amazing service, atmosphere and food. The food is especially worth the price and the sharing roast was wonderful and extremely filling. Franky was especially a pleasure to be our server and both me and my family enjoyed our meal thoroughly.

Reallt great, atmosphere was nice, we had a lovely table inside but with loads of natural light. Great kids meal, my pick son ate nearly all of it to our shock. We also thoroughly enjoyed our meals. All the staff were so friendly and nice and great with our 4 year old, especially Franky our server, she was awesome. Would definitely recommend and come again 🙂

We have eaten here several times and it never fails to disappoint. The menu is usually different every time as they regularly update it, and the service is always very friendly and prompt. Server Franky was very nice

A friendly pub with excellent service and very good food. The garden area is quite spacious and the pub is conveniently located close to Redhill train station (though discreetly back from the main road).

Soulless Young's pub where ordering a pint is a genuine inconvenience for the staff. The bartenders wear expressions of barely concealed misery, their faces a study in disillusionment as if every pint pulled is another nail in the coffin of their dwindling enthusiasm. Their movements are so lethargic you wonder if they've all been collectively diagnosed with a neurological wasting disease. They serve you with all the warmth of a frozen fish, making you feel less like a valued customer and more like an unwelcome interruption in their endless, joyless shift.

Had a roast dinner with family. The amount of meat we got was too small. Some of the beef was inedible and too much gravy. Gravy would be better served separately. Expensive for what we got

Nice roast here on Sunday. Franky was a great Host, along with the manager. Food was of a high quality. Credit to the kitchen staff. Great portion size too. Been here a few times and never had a bad experience.

Very nice meal and good service

Dropped in for a drink and the opening game of the Euros, lovely garden to the rear and landlord v accommodating finding us seats inside to enjoy the game. Great Young's ales on the hand pump. Sunday roast did look V nice and restaurant area in conservatory looked V comfortable so go and enjoy now summer's arrived!

We visited the home cottage today for Father's day. The atmosphere was great and the waitresses were wonderful. We chose to have the Roast Dinner. The roast was cooked to perfection and there was plenty on the plate. Our waitress was Annie, she was polite, professional and friendly and greeted us with a smile. Before we ordered we were asked if we had any allergies. Annie was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend the home cottage to anyone especially the roast.

Always great food and service by Franky was first rate. Slightly lacking in atmosphere as we were there on a Monday evening but on the plus side we could hold a conversation.

Not been in a while, but will be back soon for sure. Very pleasant evening, The fish and chips was fab, light crunchy batter, fish tasted moist and fresh and the chips were perfect. Chicken bacon and leek pie was delicious too.

Fantastic afternoon at Home Cottage - group of 23 of us for a wedding celebration. Poppy and her team were so accommodating and really made our day special. The food was outstanding from start to finish with a wide variety of options for everyone including very good gluten free options. 100% recommend.
