Don’t bother, half of the food was not available. The chap said they had a busy service the day before (which would have been a Sunday) not convinced! The chap didn’t tell us that half of the menu was off prior to us ordering. Not a very good vibe as we went into the restaurant, went to Jamaican Inn instead which was 100% better.

Inspite of advertising on the website neither restaurant or bar were open. Place looks very run down and tired. Staff indifferent, shower temp stuck dangerously on red hot. Just nothing good to say about this place. Booked to camp for two nights, left after one and got my money back.

It's not open. The whole place looks rundown. Booked in the hotel and left without staying. Believe to have booked double room with NetSuite but showing as Glamping pod in their system. check their website and nothing stated in the description about sharing public toilets and shower. Not robe to walk outside in the night to go toilet and all. We moved to another hotel to stay and the manager refused to refund, not even a penny. Extremely disappointed.

Beautiful setting but needs a lot of money spending on it we stayed on site it had dirty nappies and other rubbish scattered every were over flowing commercial bins in the open for all to see and smell. The bar was unkempt and the food took over and hour and was frozen packaged food which was chewy and over priced there was no soap in toilets or in the shower blocks there was no toilet rolls in the men’s toilets. There was derelict building that really should have been removed. The staff had no knowledge of the local area at all. No idea why they are putting up glamping pods as the better spent else were we personally would not stay there again and glad we only booked for two nights and no longer

Visited for family birthday.Gorgeous location which is the reason for booking. Our party consisted if six adults one child and a baby we ordered our starters which were olives and three soups!! Which took nearly an hour to come out!!! The olives were extremely salty and the soup was nearly warm but considering our wait we were to nervous to send back. Then our wait again which I timed 57 mins to come out we never bothered with a dessert! The staff were absolutely lovely and it's such a shame that the kitchen cannot get it's act together because this place has such alot going for it and the night we were there wasn't very busy just another table with one couple! So I shudder to think what it would be like if all the tables were full!!!

Stayed at Colliford Tavern in August 2019 for 3 nights. Selection of beer in bar was good and staff appeared obliging albeit intransigent, but that's about the only positives we can make. Rooms weren't particularly clean, beds weren't particularly comfortable and breakfasts took for ever but weren't worth the wait. I'm certainly not a fussy eater, but the sausages were inedible. Left my prescription sunglasses. Contacted the establishment by phone when I got home and explained I would pay for the postage and packaging. I was told that if I would email my address (a fairly complicated address) to the email address on their website, they would email the cost and then post them on. Two weeks later I phoned again and was told that they never received my email and that the email address on the website is that off the landlord, who does not communicate anything to them. I was given an alternative email address and asked to forward my address and they would sort it out the next day. 10 days later and still nothing, I have tried phoning multiple times, no answer, and resent email - only to receive a Delivery Notification stating the email address is no longer active. I wouldn't stay here if I were ever in Cornwall again.

Needed a stop on our journey home from dropping our boy off to his grandads.. Had always thought about trying the place but never did.. so here we came.. Had such high Hope's... Ordered the lunch menu fish and chips.. sold out.. we suggested they just cut an evening menu peice of fish in half.. told this was fine as they are about the same size.. Well.. who ,in their right minds, in cornwall, gets their fish from the deep freeze?? The so called battered fish was breaded and looked strikingly similar to usual brake bros fayre found in your run of the mill pubs... With a captive audience in this idyllic setting I would've hoped for so much better.. extremely disappointed.. Also ordered a portion of brie bites.. plate arrived with 3 measly prices and a minuscule side salad.. the pot of cranberry sauce was bigger! Add to that that these also were the finest frozen and hadn't melted completely our meal was rubbish! Girl behind the bar seemed competent enough... But, I was ashamed to be Cornish whilst here.. surrounded by the camping tourists who, frankly, know no better and have little other choice whilst here.. Try harder. Not that this business will care but my one time visit will be my only visit. So , so very , disappointed.

We stayed for one night on a motorhome pitch with electric and water. The views from the Tavern are lovely, we had a cream tea in the afternoon which was really good and in the evening we had a great meal and a lovely bottle of wine that Selena recommended. Selina and her staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we checked in. The Tavern was very clean and well laid out with a cosy bar area. I am very pleased with our stay overall however I think the campsite is somewhat neglected, particularly the shower and toilet block, this was not very clean and felt a bit run down, the toilet seat was broken there was a cracked mirror, not all the light bulbs worked and in the morning I couldn't get any hot water for a shower. With a little attention this would be a cracking place to stay. I've given 4 stars for the Tavern but because of the things I've mentioned I would only give the campsite 2/3 stars.

This tavern, which also runs a campsite, has great views to Colliford Lake and Bodmin Moor. The new owners are working hard to improve facilities. We had a simple but very tasty and nicely presented lunch sitting outside at a shaded table, enjoying the view. The owner made us very welcome. Being only a quarter of a mile from the A30, it is an ideal place to stop off for a rest and refreshment. Prices were very reasonable.

First night in Cornwall and we visited this restaurant on a bit of a flip of coin but im glad we did.Its a bit out of the way and It was quite when we first went in but it was just after 6pm on a Monday night to be fair and it did fill up later. The lady who greeted us was very friendly, chatty and welcoming. The menu had a good range of choices with prices good for the area.We ordered the chicken burger with chips and the Scampi with chips and both were very nice, freshly cooked with a nice fresh, crisp side salad included. I then ordered a pudding called lumpy bumpy cake which was gorgeous and included complimentary ice-cream.All in all a lovely restaurant with a friendly atmosphere, great views and good quality traditional food clearly cooked to order. And the Skinner's beer was well kept and a very welcome addition to the evening.

I booked here for a work trip, and I'm embarrassed that I brought a colleague with me.On arrival I noticed that the grounds are not very well kept. I checked in and was greeted by a friendly lady, I believe the manager. I gave my name and she got her co-manager to help her with checking me in. There was confusion about which room I was to be put in as they were "quite full".I booked the family suite with balcony but was given a standard double room. I soon found out that my colleague was given the room I had booked when he arrived soon after I did. I wasn't too fussed but it seemed strange that I wasn't given the room I booked. When I was being taken to my room I saw more of the place being in a general run down state. The light didn't work in the hall, the exterior door barely sat in its frame. There is no mobile reception on the site so I asked where I could walk to make a call. I was given a wifi password for their router which I eventually couldn't connect to later in the night because they changed the code.We went down for dinner and the reception door was locked so we had to go around the side to get into the bar and restaurant. The menu wasn't bad but when the food came it was not up to the standard of how it was described in the menu. I had the beef burger and it was clearly from a frozen bun and patties even though the menu says home made. There was a couple of shreds of lettuce and one tiny pickle slice and a tiny tomato slice. The waitress who brought us our food didn't know who ordered what, there was another table whose order came out at the same time and there was confusion about which meal went where and what it all was. In the end the manager lady gave me my burger after asking the tables "who had the burger?"The waitress was friendly and asked us how our meal was but she had quite bad body odour which isn't nice when eating. My colleague's meal came out about 10 minutes after mine. His first choice wasn't available so he settled for something different. There was a decent choice of beers on tap so can't complain about that. After dinner we were leaving the restaurant when the managers had a moan to us about how the owners came unannounced at the weekend, not sure why they decided to share that with us. They also shared how they'd been drinking prosecco all afternoon so were a bit jolly. Then they asked if we were having breakfast and bragged about how good the sausages were from their local butcher, we asked for 8am as that's what was advertised in the booklets in the room. They asked if we could do 8.30, which we agreed to.After going to bed I quickly noticed how I could hear what felt like every other guest in the hotel. The bed was uncomfortable and I could feel the springs in my back and side. I heard people leaving the bar and what sounded like the managers saying goodbyeWe went down for breakfast in the morning to find the restaurant in a very similar state to how we left it the night before. Plates not cleared from tables and clothes and shoes next to the bar. There was no sign of anyone there and no sign of any breakfast. We left our keys on the reception desk and left.Overall a really poor stay. No professionalism. Seemingly unaware of how hospitality works. Stay away, don't know where these good reviews are coming from.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch with the family as a result of a voucher obtained by a local radio station. I was lead to believe from the advertisement that you would have beautiful views whilst being served a delicious roast. How very mislead we were. First impression the grounds around the establishment are very unkempt, however we was greeted promptly, we got drinks at the bar and shown our table. In a dark windowless cramped bar/restaurant. we may as well of been sitting with the couple next to us as we were that close to them. This is not the view I was hoping for.

Unfortunately when we visited the owner and main chef was away and no curries on offer despite this being the main attraction instead only a few fish options on the menu, this should have been a warning sign. All it would have taken was a phone call and we would have postponed out visit. Customer service during our visit was terrible, no atmosphere. The food was the worst food I have tasted in a restaurant, chips and peas cold and none of our party enjoyed the experience. No reply to our letter of disappointment. I am not a negative person but this meal was beyond terrible. Think twice before visiting.

The Bengal Village Tandoori at Colliford Tavern has a fairly extensive menu and is set within the pub in the caravan park, just off the A30, but still some distance from Bodmin. It is probably a little too remote for most to venture out from Bodmin and Liskeard, but would be a good option for people staying on the site of not heading into nearby St Neot for food. In any case, we did not find the food that great, too many large pieces of onion, the sauce rather too runny for what was supposed to be a thick sauce, and the flavours not that impressive. The prices are reasonable, and delivery appears to be an option, but overall, it was not that great an experience sadly.

If you are thinking of making a visit to some beautiful sites of Cornwall, specially Colliford Lake, Carnglaze Cavern, very old fashioned village St Neot (awarded as National Village in 2004), Looe Harbour etc and you are looking for a lovely place to stay that has a lot of things to offer that you will like, from hospitality to foods including curry, from karaoke to games, from branded booze to locally brewed lagers, then I will highly recommend Colliford Tavern. Not only the surroundings are calm and eye catching, but also the service provided here is unbeatable. Together with various other dishes, indian curry is a bonus here , since freshly prepared curry is quite rare aroud Liskeard. So, to my opinion, Colliford Tavern and Campsite is simply the best.

While taking one of our 'Mystery tours of the moors we cam across thid sign and thought"Why Not". Stunning place overlooking Colliford Lake, ideal for those wanting a place to park the Caravan,go for a moorland walk or like us just out for the day. Super friendly staff, decent menu but also just call in for a pint or Tea.

We stopped at the Tavern late in the afternoon for a quick lunch. Most of us had bagettes which were very tasty, loads of filling served with a great side salad.Granny had a childs meal of pasta which was still substantial.Cheesy chips were piping hot with lots of cheese. Service was very friendly & quick.

Four succulent steaks cooked to perfection, lovely freshly cooked chips and the best onion rings I've eaten in a long time. All washed down with a glass of ice cold Cornish lager served with a smile. Love this place :)

Met friends for lunch mid week. Excellent location, excellent premises, everything was great from food to service. I had the Hunter's Chicken, my wife had The Steak Pie and friends had Fish and chips. - All I can say is look at the pictures I have uploaded.

As a local to Cornwall and being in the area and loving the roads around Colliford Lake and forgetting or traditional sanwiches, we popped into the Colliford Tavern to pick up sandwiches. We stayed for lunch, I had the gammon steak, my wife had the ploughman's. Now anyone on Facebook who is friends with me will know I like my food.. A lot. The portions were huge, the quality was huge as well.. eating outside, we could not believe we were so close to the A30 on a bank holiday Monday... Not a sound of the nearby traffic, excepting the sounds of the birds in the trees... Silence.Don't take that to mean that the Tavern is not popular, there were cars arriving all the time we were there, but the atmosphere is one of peace and quiet, well at lunch time it was hahha. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive, but not in a obtrusive way................... Would I eat at the Colliford Tavern again... The answer to that question is.. ''When are we going again Missus..?''

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday

Very very busy with two ladies serving in a stressful atmosphere and yet they were great, especially Helen. Well done! Coffee was great and seasonal berry slice.

Had a lovely meal,Rump Steak& Croft Burger, then sweets to finish. Great food and service. Shame the weather wasn't a little better as we would have sat outside after our meal.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
