I loved the tour. Our guide was great, funny, informative, spooky, just amazing!

They do not care about customer service at all. There is this blue ballon thing outside and its so noisy and everyone hates it who is sitting around. Even people are want to sit but when they hear that awful sound they leave.

A local recommended we have dinner here. The beer was excellent and my son enjoyed the cold fashioned. The food was very good but not Scottish. We ended up with 2 pizzas, the Leith was outstanding. We also had the pizza ends, very good choice for us, the three dips provided each of us a favorite choice. The salad with mozzarella, omg, a great compliment to the dinner. Our server Jono was excellent. We weren't able to sit on rooftop due to winds and rain. But this is definitely worth a stop for drinks and/or food.

Come all the way from New Zealand and the roof top terrace did not disappoint, amazing views! Freddie’s services was beyond great.

Had a great few hours celebrating a friends birthday. The guys there gave the birthday girl a free bottle of Prosecco. Great service.

A really wonderful place to go for drinks, food and entertainment. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all their drinks. We popped in and stayed the whole evening - it was so good.

Came in to watch the Rugby on a very busy Saturday. Despite how busy it was the staff were very polite & attentive, the bar was well organised & again staff very good. Enjoyed a few nice beers & a delicious pizza with garlic butter fries & a live band later on!!! A really enjoyable afternoon!!

Amazing pub/restaurant! Very dog friendly she has become a regular And pretty obsessed with one of the staff members (ZAC)🤭 Who is always coming over giving her some love, making sure she is comfortable and has water:) Drinks and food are amazing definitely recommend 🌸🪻

Great experience and food. Definitely recommend - o ly knocked a star off because our desserts seemed to be forgotten about and we had to chase but they arrived eventually and were delicious! Wouldn’t have been a problem if we didn’t have young children with us.

Booked here for food and it didn't disappoint freshly cooked pizza which was really tasty live music big screens to watch sport and freshly brewed lager/ales on site loved it

This was one of the places I wanted to go. It has a beautiful rooftop, which I recommend visiting and enjoying when the weather is good! It has a privileged view of the castle, as well as beautiful decor! On the middle floor, there is a restaurant that makes super tasty pizzas. I had the Holyrood and it did not disappoint! They are big, and you can even try to order just one, and then see if you want more! On the ground floor, there is a bar with live music, and where they make their own cocktails. On the middle floor, next to the dining tables, you can even see the distillers. I highly recommend it!

Nice place with live music. Food was excellent. I recommend the „Come take a flight“, this way you can try different kinds of beer.

nothing too special, very mediocre beer and the vibe inside is a bit dead. also the whole bar smelled of garlic which I didn't find too appealing

If I had a monkey closed in a room with some coffee and some sugar it would made a better coffee.

Excellent beers, great service, and the pizza is delicious. The view of the castle from their terrace is incredible, and the atmosphere is very cozy. My wife loved the Tonka Piña co-lada cocktail, try it.

Staff were lovely and there were lots of them, we booked a table and it was right beside the band :) we used the QR code to order drinks but staff always asked if we needed anything when they passed. One even noticed I'd been using the same straw so brought me a fresh one :) they let us know when the kitchen was closing which was helpful. The drinks were lush the bands were amazing i lost count of how many times I said i love this song. Toilets were cool and clean every time I went honestly great place great vibe very relaxed and welcoming x

Great atmosphere and friendly service in a kind of post industrial vibe surrounding. Struggled ordering as it was table service via a qr scan web page and WiFi was difficult to sign in on and when I did, it was very slow. However, a great range of beers and food was available.

A COOL place to have a drink or eat. I recommend the terrace with spectacular views of the castle and also a very cool setting. Inside you also have different floors with screens to watch games and more. The truth is that I will return. We were on the terrace in November, which is not hot, but with the heaters it was fine.

It's another pub which is only fortunate due to its location being considered a must visit 🤔 when in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, not one I will rush to visit again 😕 😞 and as for the gents toilets, the less said, the better the smell was absolutely horrendous

I went here with a few friends for a quick catch up and to watch the football. Service was great and there’s plenty of screens to keep you entertained. Despite sitting quite far from the door it seemed to get cold all of a sudden. And the food was disappointing. I got buffalo chicken loaded fries. The fries had the taste of frozen chips while the chicken was unidentifiable. Staff and ability to watch sport far outweighed the environment and food.

Everything I could want in a brewery. Jonno was my beertender, and he's absolutely delightful. The architecture and decorations are worth coming here by themselves, but then they also have good beer? Insane. They have sample taps of beer not yet for sale, which I've never experienced before. Just do yourself a favor if you're looking for good beer, and go here.

Went as part of a work group for our Christmas lunch. Starters took an hour to arrive. Main courses hadn't turned up after another hour and one of our group went to complain and took 3 attempts before he finally got to speak to the manager. Main course (turkey dinner) felt like a ready meal and the best part was the dessert (cheesecake) which they probably bought in. Thankfully my colleague managed to negotiate a sundtantial refund and a round of drinks.

Very beautiful place and unique. Love decorations and staff are fenomenal. Very friendly and defenetly recommended, have been with friends and we have amazing experiences, great beers and unique flavours. Ps: Love it the toilets. Unique.

Such a nice and cool looking spot, too bad it was very quiet when we were there. Also the two wines on their menu that I wanted, they didn't have. Food was fine though!

Cozy rather quiet bar, but still great!

The pizza is very good for a Neapolitan pizza. Otherwise the food selection is a bit sparse. The atmosphere on the first floor is not particularly cozy, rather cold and pragmatic. Service was ok. If you don't come for a good pizza, then it's probably not worth it.

Fab venue and decor, great selection of beers. We arrived in the middle of a pub quiz which was a bit loud so our plan to stop for a "quiet drink" went out the window but we were seated quickly and it was quite amusing listening as the person hosting the quiz was good fun. If we're ever in Edinburgh again we'll definitely return.

I have been going to cold town house since it opened, but the quality has fallen so far that I don't think I will be back At my recent visit the staff looked overworked, the bar tender seemed fed up and the atmosphere was drab. The pizza is still very good, but probably not as amazing as smaller placed like Pomo. They had no GF beer and I ordered for cocktails but these were at best mediocre, consistantly overly sweet and weak. Kind of a shame they didn't have any gf beer with superb gf brewery Bellfield right in town. No excuse really for not being able to offer a gf beer. Plus at £150.00 for 5 pizzas and a couple of drinks it felt pricey. I fear that CTH has reduced itself to focusing on tourists, as their quality standards don't seem to care if they get repeat business. I can't fault the staff, they were working hard and as attentive as they could be. The place just has totally lost it's vibe. Try a local place if you want to avoid the tourist trap rip off. Organised our works xmas meal at cold town house and service from start 2 finish was outstanding Jordan the manager us a real credit to the venue and looked after us all and made us so welcome . All staff so friendly. Niamh who we booked with was also amazing. Merry Xmas to the staff at cold town house

I have never had such swift and dare I say charming service before… in all my years of hospitality I have never met someone so charismatic and with good looks to die for (had my friend and I not been in long term relationships already, we would have thought this is the man for us). Amazing time, thank you guys!

Ideal place to drink beers and have views of the castle, as you enter the premises, but little else

Visited for dinner with our dog, on the outdoor terrace. We were welcomed by our server, Campbell who was excellent. We ordered pizzas which were amazing and drinks. We were so impressed that we returned for lunch the following day. The ambience is really good, very relaxed and very dog friendly. Would highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant for dinner during a busy Christmas event. Despite being informed that our meals might take 30 minutes, we found ourselves waiting for about an hour without receiving our food. However, the staff's response to this oversight was impressive. One attentive staff member noticed our situation and quickly alerted the kitchen. Shortly after, the manager approached us, explained that our order had not been sent to the kitchen, and sincerely apologized. They promptly sent our order through and offered us complimentary French fries and lemon shots as a gesture of goodwill. As a restaurant owner myself, I understand that mistakes can happen, but it's all about how they're handled, and this team did an exceptional job, especially given how busy they were. Our food arrived soon after and was absolutely delicious. To our surprise, they also reduced our bill by 25%, further demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. I strongly recommend this restaurant! 👌

Great atmosphere and leosax was brilliant

We arrived this afternoon in Edinburgh and walked to C*ld Town from our hotel. Loved the atmosphere and vegan food options. I had the Nae Bull burger and the absolute best fries!!! Jim had the roasted peppers and eggplant pizza and it was scrumptious. Will be going back during our stay!!! Highly recommend!!!

IT's a great bar, but the service can be a little slow. Was slightly disappointed to be evacuated due to a power cut, but understand it was due to health & safety issues.

Lovely quirky bar, excellent location for admiring the castle. Fantastic selection of beers and friendly staff too.

Just stopped in for a quick drink. Nice spot with it's own brews on tap. Tried a lemon lager and the sour iron brew. The iron brew was bitter at first but I really enjoyed it and would recommend trying it.

The meal was nice, the portions were so big I couldn't finish. Live music was good, very loud, though, as it is a smallish space.

We tried pizza and wine. Taste above average. The employees are very attentive and warm-hearted. The atmosphere is nice.

Brilliant experience on rooftop bar. Alex was our waiter and the best service I’ve ever had. Friendly and seemed to know exactly when we needed service. Cheers Alex, made the experience for us. Highly recommend this place. Pizza also great.

I was here for an engagement celebration with my fiancé on Saturday 2/11. I was greeted by a young man called Aidan, who was extremely helpful and gave me great insight into the beers, highlighting his favourites and offering tasters of each. His friend Rory was our waiter who recommended the cold town dog for me, and the nae bull burger for my fiancé, as he is a vegan. 100% will be back, especially if these two are still there!
