Colborne House Cafe in Fylde

Hubby and me popped over to Clitheroe Monday afternoon for a bit shopping then into Swale's for a late lunch ... Meat and Potato Pie Peas and Gravy and 2 mugs of tea ...can't beat it 😋

If your a lover of well cooked reasonably priced food and a warm welcome then this is the place for you. I can definitely recommend their pies (several varieties) accompanied with mushy peas and a cup of tea. Have also tried their breakfast which was tasty and definitely filling! Orders are taken at the counter but are then brought to you table by friendly staff. Recommended when in the lovely market town of Clitheroe.

What a treat! None of your hipster urbanistas here, just red vinyl bench seats, formica table tops, lovely staff and hot sandwiches (cheese toastie and a fried egg bap) and tea for two, with change from a tenner. We will be back.

Visited for our, peas and gravy, excellent as always. They just don't make cafes like this anymore, attentive, genuine, welcoming efficient staff in spotless surroundings. Probably the best pie and peas in Lancashire.

We always went there when we lived in Ilkley, now we have moved to the South Coast.However we are coming up in October and The Goldbourne cafe is top of the places to visit.Best pie and peas in the North, great place , friendly staff, so glad they have survived the lockdown'.

We love this cafe and visit regularly. Staff brilliant and food excellent. We especially enjoy the fruit pie and cream, a real treat!

I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. Every other Saturday my dad used to bring me for pie, peas and gravy. I’m 35 now and I still love the place! Swales is like walking into a time warp... I love it! Please don’t ever change! It’s spotless the food is great and cheap! Love it and I love Swales always have and will. Now I take my children in and they too love it. The pie, peas and gravy is a must Xxx

What can I say but so friendly, feels like home and the kids love coming here they always pick this place first

Been here many times a great local cafe warm friendly staff,good prices,as well always many customers in a good sign,support local Not the overpriced big boys up in town you know who I mean !

Got to be meat and potato pie, peas and gravy - delicious. Milky coffee. Cream scone. Job's a good'un. Always seems to be busy - great value, down to earth.

After trailing road town after town with overpriced rip off cafes, this was truly a wonderful find. 100% sensible very affordable prices without compromising quality or service. I would put this gem of a cafe in my top ten in the whole of UK. Staff were delightful. These comments are borne out by the busyness of the cafe when others were less than half full. Thankyou for restoring my faith in northern hospitality.

excellent selection of sandwiches and cakes also pie and peas bacon sandwiches tasty! great for lunch or afternoon teas, visit weekly.

Must have passed this place hundreds of times , decided to give it a try for lunch today , decent menu with a selection a sandwiches / toasties , baked potatoes , with their speciality being ' old school ' pies !! :) you order and pay at the counter , service was quick and the food that arrived was lovely .

Pies peas and gravy excellent. Freshly baked cakes. It’s always busy as it is very popular. Street parking or use the car park by the council offices.

Visit here twice a week because we love it. The food is excellent as are the staff. When visiting clitheroe would not go anywhere else only here . See you again Friday.
