Great coffee, delicious pastries, but NB unreliable wifi

This a nice pet friendly cafe croissant and cakes are delicious also coffee are one of the best - the only thing is slow on service I think is because short on staff

Horrible servicio al cliente. Mis amigos y yo fuimos a sentarnos y un trabajador groseramente dijo que tienes que pedir algo incluso. Nos acabamos de sentar y luego pedimos y 2 / 4 personas pidieron algo, así que el trabajador dijo que todos tienen que pedir o que tienen que irse porque ocupan los asientos, a pesar de que había como un montón de asientos libres y no mucha gente, así que luego tuvimos que irnos, a pesar de que les habíamos pagado nuestro dinero ganado duro por un brownie y bebidas a un precio excesivo. Terrible empleado y grosero.

Disgusting Customer Service from these 2!

A very nice place to visit; the staff are always polite and friendly, and their mocha is amazing! Along with that, I really enjoy their cake options, and the cinnamon bun, along with the danish pastries are very nice! The hot foccacia they do is also a go too option. All reasonably priced, and to top it off, they support Guide Dogs and they're super dog friendly. Also, the music that's played is absolutely amazing, giving the place a great, chilled out place to relax and enjoy the ambience!

A great coffee shop on the main street in Llandaff. Great service, good choice of hot drinks, savoury snacks and cakes. Very dog friendly and you can buy doggy treats too. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back again for more. Easy access from the street, no steps to negotiate and WC is on the same level too.

Delicious cakes and friendly stuff)

Era un sábado por la mañana. Somos una familia de cuatro, que decidimos reunirnos en Coffee Lab, Llandaff (habíamos disfrutado de nuestra visita a Coffee Lab, Wellfield Rd algunas semanas antes). A la llegada estaba muy ocupado, logramos encontrar una mesa - era una mesa pequeña con 4 sillas. Tenía platos sucios amontonados alto, pero un miembro muy agradable del personal lo despejó y limpió bastante rápido. Lamentablemente, el tamaño y la situación de la mesa han resultado ser un problema (creo que la mesa se habría adaptado mejor a dos sillas y no a 4 ). Debido a que otras mesas pequeñas cercanas también tenían 4 sillas a su alrededor, la zona en la que estábamos sentados se volvió muy concurrida. Estábamos constantemente teniendo que mover nuestras sillas para dejar pasar a otros clientes y personal - esto hizo que fuera un momento muy perturbado. Además, la cantidad de clientes apretujados alrededor de estas pequeñas mesas significaba que era muy, muy ruidoso. El tamaño de la mesa volvió a ser problemático. Cuando terminamos de comer, queríamos permanecer en la mesa para terminar nuestras bebidas y compartir algunos papeles. Debido a que nuestra vajilla no se quita de la mesa pequeña, literalmente no teníamos espacio para hacer esto. Toda la situación se volvió bastante frustrante. Pedí hablar con el gerente. Ella era muy agradable - pero aparte de decir que lo sentía, no mostró preocupación o interés en mis comentarios ... ni siquiera vino a limpiar nuestra mesa, diciendo que no era política de Coffee Lab limpiar mesas mientras los clientes todavía estaban sentados allí. Continué explicando que nuestra visita de esa mañana se había sentido extremadamente caótica y en base a eso, era poco probable que volviéramos. Sonrió, dijo una vez más que lo sentía y miró hacia la puerta donde la cola para entrar serpenteaba afuera... Obviamente a algunas personas les gusta una cafetería con una verdadera sensación de "ajetreo y bullicio". Sin embargo no lo hacemos, nos dirigiremos a una de las otras cafeterías Llandaff la próxima vez que estemos allí.

Always busy but for a reason. This place is a gem in Llandaff Village. Dog friendly and coffee is very nice. Not recommended for people on diets as very challenging to stay away from those sweet treats!

Gran café y comida. Personal encantador. Limpio (a diferencia de las grandes cadenas). Ir allí un par de veces a la semana hasta ahora Aquí está el PERO. los mejores asientos a lo largo de la pared siempre son ocupados por los usuarios de portátiles. Dos personas tomando mesas de cuatro, una persona tomando mesas de dos. Ni un café a la vista. Se quedan horas y horas.

Lovely atmosphere, absolutely loved saying hello to the fellow dog owners. Staff were just lovely, couldn’t give my fluffy boy enough attention not to mention the beautiful latte art.

This is a very popular branch of this new chain. And it's my local one. Many people seem to like it. But, for me, it's just too busy, too loud, too crowded. It's like one big loud party. I guess it's not what I look for in a coffee shop. The furnishing don't absorb any of the echoing sounds and I find it hard to think and relax in this branch only. The rest are more peaceful. Think of it as Paddington Station! Coffee is OK. Cakes and snacks over priced! Staff seem frantic Not such a great service in here when it's busy at weekend. Pastries with meat labeled as cheese and touching other vegetation food. Assistant wasn't interested when I said I should be on separate plate in the display.

I mean….. it’s ok……. Busy, but we still found a table and chairs no problem, service was quick, facilities were clean and we love the dogs 🐶 food was great! What you do for Guide Dogs is fantastic. However…… I have consumed more coffee than I should ever admit (especially to my GP), but the barrister staff need more training or experience. My coffee was burnt (the milk) creating that almost sour after taste in your mouth. It’s lucky they give you free bottles of water to wash the flavour away. The staff need to understand the difference between good customer service, ideal chit / chat and social filters. I was stop by a male employee (stature of a jockey for reference) who made some comment on my T-shirt choice in a a negative fashion! After seeing my obvious facial expression he immediately said “I’m joking” - to which I responded with “you have an odd sense of humour”. Before telling me that he collects “skulls”. Not that I asked for that information not cared about his personal interests. We come to a vendor such as yourselves for a “product” being food and beverage, along with good customer service. Basic inter personal skills and manors as well as being able to deliver a satisfactory good cup of coffee are the fundamental essentials for your business and on my visit you failed on both. Training, training, training.

Dogs. Dog with its head on the table. Dogs barking. Dogs in a cafe with food. Tables not cleaned between dog visits. This would be a lovely cafe with lovely coffee if they didn't encourage the dogs. So pretty disgusting.

Me encanta este lugar. El personal es muy amable y cortés. Generalmente hay asientos, incluso en momentos de mucha actividad y el personal incluso me ayuda a encontrar una mesa porque saben que tengo mi computadora portátil conmigo y siempre estoy detrás de un lugar para sentarme cerca de un enchufe. Los pasteles y sándwiches son preciosos; mi única queja es que el café a veces es bastante amargo. Four of us had to share a table for two while two people occupied two tables each with their laptops. Ok if they have to work but to take up that amount of space is u necessary. Teacake was good but coffee wasn't hot enough for me.

Nice place & it's dog friendly.Unfortunately they don't do just plain ham,cheese toasties etc..they have added extras e g. Pesto etc which I don't like.I did try a toasted sandwich but didn't like it.

Simple cafe. We were there on a Sunday morning (around 11am). It was very full and it took a while until we had our cappuccino. As everywhere on the island, the price is slightly higher than at home.

Had the Prosciutto focaccia and it was stunning bread tasted so fresh. Coffee was lovely, would love to see more alternative milk options however it was a lovely place to have a quiet lunch.

I tend to go here because they have longer opening hours than elsewhere. Cakes and pastries are good. I'm one of the customers who goes here in spite of the dogs welcome policy, not because of it! Most of the dogs / owners I have no issues with, but sometimes there are really noisy dogs, or ones whose owners don't prevent them from jumping up / licking strangers / tripping them when they're carrying a tray etc. Yes, I know I should go somewhere else, but sometimes there's nowhere else open... Rant over 😂

The coffee was good, we didn't eat there but it was pleasant there and we can recommend it.

A lovely, but very busy and popular cafe, (it was mothering Sunday). A bit of a queue to order and just managed to get the last veggie focaccia, however the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and very professional considering how busy it was. The food was excellent and good value for money. The cafe is dog friendly and has a very relaxed and informal atmosphere. We really enjoyed our lunch, and I'm looking forward to a repeat visit.

I frequent coffee shops regularly. However, I have never had to wait so long for a coffee as I had to in Coffee Lab, despite having a lot of staff on duty. After 15mins of waiting, in which we had finished our cakes/sweets snacks I went up to ask. The lady that had paid behind me was being served her coffee. I asked politely how long my coffee would be as I had paid before the lady that had already been served and I was rudely told there are two making coffees and it depends on who picks up what order. She then went on to say that they were busy and had lots of orders to work through, with no apology. However, I have been in much busier coffee shops that work through orders MUCH more quickly. I wasn't the only one complaining either, I witnessed one guy complaining he had been waiting almost 20mins for a tea. When my coffee was ready they called my name and placed my coffee down in a takeaway cup and I explained I had ordered it to drink in. The lady then rolled her eyes and began to make another one and when ready handed the tray over to me without any apology or acknowledgement. The coffee was OK but not worth the long wait and rudeness. It has put me off ever visiting again!

Coffi Labs (been to several CL locations my favourite being Y fenni) has superb coffee, great food and generally great ambience. So why one star? To get readers attention ! I understand and appreciate the doggy theme but I, like, at minimum, a very sizeable proportion of the population am not a dog lover and shouldn't be expected to be. SOME dog owners have this attitude and do not honour THEIR obligation to keep their pooch under control. Especially with respect to trip hazards! And yes I know before I'm reminded many customers are often more objectionable than the average family pet. I want Coffi Lab to continue its dog friendly policy but perhaps on the basis of segregated usage ....an area should be available to which dogs are excluded. Let me remind readers I'm a real fan of CL and not a dog hater (Fritz my childhood rough Collie would have loved CL..!)

Ordered a selection of pastries. All inedible. Very processed and lacking quality, so dry. Such a disappointment.

I visit Coffi Lab almost every week. Great tasting coffee and friendly staff. Also the place is full of dogs for a bonus! Its just about the only place we can take out dog, something about the open layout and the number of dogs makes her not guard our table and bark at people, so if we ever want to take her for food with us. Its where we go! The welsh cakes, toast, and Chai Latte are my favourite things here.

I arrived at 17.35 and was told that they weren't serving. I informed the gentleman that was serving that I only wanted to cakes to take out. He raised his eyes at me and told me 'we stop serving ar 17.30'. I repeated that I only wanted to take cakes out and he ignored me. I regularly visit Coffi Lab and have never had an issue before. Good for you if you can turn away customers, this customer will not be retuning!

It’s a nice modern coffee shop with a selection of lovely looking food. We arrived at 10am on a Wednesday and it was extremely busy and got quite loud. The coffee was nice (I had an americano and do drink a lot of coffee) but a bit too bitter for my liking. I would come back but maybe at a different time during the day.

A perfectly fine coffee shop in a nice spot in Llandaf village high street. It’s very popular/busy. Plenty of space inside and it feels bright and airy. Lots of tables and they’re not too close together either. Service is queue and order, then wait to the side for your drinks (it’s the same whether you’re taking your drink away or drinking inside). There can be quite a queue as it’s popular. If your food’s being prepared then they’ll bring it over to your table. It’s dog-friendly with a little menu of dog treats, so there’s lots of dog walkers there. They do have house rules for dogs by the entrance, which is sensible. They collect for guide dogs which is a nice touch and there’s a charity board too. They have decaf coffee available. The morello blondie I had was really nice. The traybake cake slices are on the small side, but that works for me.

This place is the best coffee in the UK. Coffee bean was So fresh and it must be high quality. Bread looks good. So it is difficult to choose one. Reasonable price and generous free wifi. If I stay in Cardiff more, I would definitely pop in there.

Go to Coffi Lab Llandaff regularly. Always friendly, with a very good choice of hot drinks, snacks, cakes etc. Free to park for 2 hours in local car park, ideal for meeting friends. Their dog friendly policy means that any of my friends can go there.

Lovely cafe with a lot of drink and food choices - cakes and pastries galore. The staff were friendly and there was a warm and relaxed atmosphere suitable for all ages. Dog friendly, changing room facilities in the disabled toilet and a separate unisex toilet too. Prices reasonable and not far from Llandaff Cathedral

Great coffee shop with good range of trendy drinks eg turmeric latte and many delicious cakes. It is dog friendly and many different breeds were there today with very little trouble! Chilled and no pressure if you want to sit and chat as it is large

Had a few minutes and didn't think anything would be open for a quick bite and drink. Pleasantly surprised it was open I think until 530. Lovely person serving behind the counter. Even getting near closing there were still nice cakes and buns. Recommend a stop!

1st time here, meeting up with my neice on a Wednesday afternoon, was very busy but managed to get a table, friendly staff. Toilets could be monitored regularly, but nice place in general :)

Great place to go for a coffee. Tables very clean, and staff very approachable and friendly. Lovely selection of cakes to go with my flat white. This was the first time I visited the Llandaf store, and it definitely won’t be the last. Also loved how dogs were welcome too 🐶

Relatively new coffee shop in Llandaff Village. Coffee is expensive. 1 size cup and not that big at over £3 a cup. Aside from loads of cakes, food is limited to a few fancy sarnies. One thing that sets this place apart is how dog friendly it is, with plenty of evidence that they take the caring of our beloved pooches further than most. Atmosphere is good. Mellow Sunday mornings as part of our dog walking is a treat. If you like a peaceful time, avoid it just after the schools empty. Here's where they seem to congregate, which to me is also quite nice.
