On the lookout for an independent coffee house and found this one, just off the city centre. Relaxed atmosphere, warm and comfortable. Had tea and toasted sandwich and they were excellent.

We love this little spot just off the beaten track! Enjoy visiting whenever we are in Oxford . Absolutely love the avocado on toast and my son likes the pastrami toastie. Relaxed ambience and characterful with exposed wooden beams. We will be back!

Found this lovely little spot while visiting Oxford. Friendly staff. Beautiful filled bagels and good tea and coffee. I noticed an earlier reveiw that said there are no toilets, but there are. You have to ask where they are.

Quick stop before a show at the theartre. Absolutely cracking hot chocolates, so much so, I had two. Would highly recommend a visit.

This is an individual coffee shop providing savoury and sweet. I had the mushroom, spinach and whipped feta toastie and it was delicious and just incredible. Although the choice of sweet foods isn’t really to my taste, I could appreciate why one would enjoy them.

Very nice independent cafe. They have great cake selection including vegan and gluten free options. The atmosphere of the old building is very cosy and staff is also nice and friendly. Will definitely come back.

So, I thought I'd drop into this place for a Sunday afternoon coffee, on my visit to Oxford. There's no welcoming smile, no hello, no personality or character at all. It's like we are inconveniencing them and doing them a favour, by actually buying something ! I ordered a flat white. She said "follow the instructions on the screen", then walked off !!! What screen, what "instructions", what are you talking about (I thought to myself). I got out my wallet in puzzlement. She said, "oh, it's cash is it" ? "Yes", I said. "How much do I owe you?"...... "It's on the screen.... £3.05" I have never been treated in such an insolent, robotic, anti-customer, grumpy, anti-social twenty-something kid, in my entire life. They simply, don't give a sh*t, don't want to be there and hate customers. The owner needs to get a grip of these staff and install a sense of customer service and friendliness, into these chip-on-the-shoulder scruffy unkempt entitled kids. The coffee was 'average' after I had to request my flat-white to be made 'wet' for a second time.

Dreadful slow service, forgot half the order. Cakes for sale left open on the counter for any germs. Not at all hygienic.

There are very few good independent coffee shops in Oxford City Centre, and we've just lost a couple of really nice ones in East Oxford where I live. I was glad to have discovered Coffeesmith recently. Even though it's a bit of a walk for me (though very convenient if you're visiting as it's in the centre, slightly back from the main street) I've been making a dedicated trip in quite often; it does a good cup of tea, has a really nice owner and friendly serving staff, and does some tasty cakes (my favourite's the cherry and almond). They also do grilled sandwiches if you want something savoury. Music is good but not intrusive, they have wi-fi, and it's just a very pleasant place to get on with some work or meet a friend. They have biscuits for the excellent assortment of visiting dogs, too. . . And it's not a soulless chain either!

Was told about this place by my daughter who said it was dog friendly. Popped in on the way home with the pooch after a walk by the river. Warm welcome from the lovely girl with the big eyelashes (sorry I didn’t catch your name). Made a big fuss over my good boi and gave him a treat (or two!!). Great coffee. Avocado on toast was excellent and couldn’t resist a slice of cake which didn’t disappoint. Really cosy place with a nice vibe. Toebee and I will be back very soon. Thank you!

Our table was cleared not cleaned before we were able to sit down. When our drinks finally arrived it was in a plastic cup ! Hot chocolate that tasted of sour warm milk and an Americano that tasted of warm water. Completely undrinkable and worst drinks we have had in a long time and bearing in mind we have been travelling around this week. Just walked out and left the drinks on the table. Never again will we go back there.

This really is a very nice establishment, excellent coffee and a calm ambience. It's not large though, and with many tables occupied with students / MacBooks, you'll do well to find a space to enjoy inside. I guess we were just lucky!

Excellent ice creams, great variety and flavour. I visited with my dogs on a really hot day in July. Perfect way to cool down. Also a special mention to the pet shop Wiggle and Wag which shares a site with the gelato shop. Both great.

We don’t really know Dorking but came for a comedy gig and wanted food and drink before the show. We booked a table online and then were a bit confused when we walked in as it’s looks like a work space but then has a bar and says it served food. The staff explained they had a limited menu currently. As we were there and we’d booked we thought we’d give it a go. We ordered halloumi fries to start and then various burgers - whilst initially worried this was just going to be a zap in the microwave job; how wrong we were. The food was so good. The food was restaurant quality!! The staff (particularly the gent I assume was the manager) were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely go again; and look forward to when they have their full menu.

We went for an extended family Boxing Day lunch. We were staying from out of area. From the bar staff to the kitchen staff, they couldn’t have made our time with them any better. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was not only great quality, huge portions but incredible value! We can’t recommend this little gem enough! Thank you so much!

Visited Glastonbury whilst on a weeks break in Crewkerne. Popped into to this lovely cafe as it was dog friendly. Forgetting my glasses I asked if they catered for gluten free, they did (it stated it on the menu). As I ordered the lady behind the counter asked if I was coeliac, I told her I was. When the food was brought to the table, the lady explained that she had cleaned the kitchen and prepared my food using all new unopened ingredients. All I had was a corned beef and onion sandwich, but the attention to detail was second to none. Really recommend this place to coeliacs and non coeliacs.

The Sunrise Cafe may look like an ordinary cafe on the outside but inside the food is something special! Choose something from The Thai menu if you like Thai food and you will experience some of the best authentic Thai cooking outside Thailand! We stopped here for lunch after driving around the Malvern Hills all morning thinking it was just a normal cafe but discovered that it also had a Thai Menu cooked by a delightful Thai lady Chef called "Jim". I am not sure how she came by that name but she was definitely a woman! We chose Tom Yum chicken soup and checked that would not be too spicy hot first. It was perfect and also contained Mushroom, Sping Onion and Tomato. Incredibly tasty with a mild warmth aftertaste. We followed this with a Chicken Massaman Curry which included a Jasmine sticky rice. The curry was the best we have tasted. It looked so appetising with it's rich golden colour. The friendly Hungarian waitress also supplied us with water and afterwards my wife Angie had a hot chocolate and I had a White Cofffee. A fantastic meal and drinks for just under £20 a head. If you are touring the Malverns this is worth taking a detour for! It is open from about 8:30 am to 4pm this time of the year and has a garden available at the back for outdoor seating in the summer months. The Cafe also serves a range of cooked breakfasts and lunches or hot sandwiches, some deserts, milkshakes, hot and cold drinks.
