Really like this place but the staff need to be better organised as the service is too slow and lacking attention (had a toasted sandwich served cold the other day), also the tables need to be cleared and cleaned more often. Staff need better organisation and management.

I used to go here regularly for coffee but this branch has deteriorated to extremes. I overheard one lady say how disgusting the toilet was, four staff members standing around chatting whilst they was no queue and tables needed clearing. Low on stock and not a great attitude from the staff. I won’t be going here again. What a disappointment this visit was.

Been going to Coffee#1 for years and the last 12 months it’s really gone downhill. Frustratingly the coffee is good but the service and cleanliness is poor. We were the only ones in there the other day and every table had dirty mugs on it. It’s like all the staff have better things to do.

I came in for a coffee with a friend, fortunately my friend was able to find a table to sit at while I ordered the drinks. The queue time was fairly long but once ordered the drinks were quick to arrive. The only issue being that there is not enough room for people to both queue and social distance appropriately. I would order drinks from here again.

My brother and I popped into #1 coffee shop in Cirencester and ordered tea, coffee and cakes. There was aMagnificent display of cakes in the glass cabinet. However, this is the first time ever we were prevented from buying cakes -we -and several others in the queue - were told they were not for sale because they were frozen (??!) Only biscuits were available. Either the coffee shop has a planning or a refrigeration problem -maybe both. Otherwise service was very friendly and the coffee was good quality.

Cero reglas COVID. Mesas demasiado juntas. No volveré allí.

Was pleasantly surprised to see that dogs are allowed in this coffee shop. Theres a certain section you need to be in, but that's not a problem as it's a nice area. Drinks - delicious. Apple juice - freshly squeezed apples. Hot chocolates that my son and his girlfriend had looked delicious too. Friendly staff. Good prices. Delicious products. Great to know there's somewhere to take dogs when you need a break from shopping!!

Lots of attitude. Zero customer service. Neither of the staff working were either engaging, interested or pleasant. They were too busy chatting to their mate leaning against the counter to bother with giving the customers eye-contact, the time of day or anything more than a grudging “thank you” after taking their money. Great concept, dog friendly, family friendly, colouring for younger kids, free used coffee grounds for the garden, doggy treats and water for dogs, rather ramshackle and distressed furniture which is rather charming. However many tables not cleared, tables were grubby, food and napkins on the floor with waiters just walking past, food preparation area not clean, we were given a tray which was wet and had chocolate powder on it. Great concept but totally let down by bad hygiene

I visited Coffee 1 with my wife and daughter in Cirencester late one afternoon. Not only did the person serving us have a constant scowl on her face, she wouldn't even make eye contact. Clearly we had inconvenienced her by daring to walk in to the establishment and order drinks! Looking around the place it was all a bit grubby, with children's sticky hand prints on windows, tables not cleaned properly, also clanging and banging of crockery and cutlery. Looks like Coffee 1 are heading the same way as a similar leading (or not as the case may be) high street brand of coffee shop..................

Stopped for a coffee and some food on Saturday for my first visit to this particular Coffee 1. The place was half empty with dirty tables but that didn’t bother the many staff who stood about chatting, joking and playing on their phones. The food shelves were half empty, so I didn’t find anything that appealed to me. The coffee was standard Coffee 1. I frequently visit Coffee 1, this was my worst experience. The comfy chairs were dirty, Coffee 1 attempts the shabby chic thing which works well most of the time. However in this store shabby chic appears to mean dirty.

i popped into coffee#1 cirencester at the weekend, it was so busy. Yet seemed only 2 members of staff who were actually doing their job. A Blonde lady at the till (unknown name as staff seem to not be clearly identified) and a tall lad making drinks. A small lady and two other lads just stood in a corner talking. When i questioned the lady at the till she said they were washing up and were working as quickly as they can, i beg to differ a store that busy needs staff who are actually contributing. Ive been to the store before and the same thing again, the lady at the till running around whilst the rest stand there or are shouting at each other. You have an assitant manager position advertised in your window coffee#1 i think you have it in that staff member already there appreciate the staff you have as those two seemed to be doing all the work of the 5 of them on shift, it needs a big shake up, promote the people doing it right and sort out the ones letting it down because the coffee is fantastic. The unisex loos were not particularly nice as the loo seat was covered in urine. Despite this we did enjoy a lovely hot chocolate and maple/pecan square. I visited on a drizzly Sunday afternoon in early October having checked ahead to confirm opening times. With me was a large group of family (8 of us) from out of town and the miserable weather seemed like a perfect excuse for a cosy coffee in town. We arrived just before 4.30 and settled ourselves at a table. When we went up to order we were told "We're closing in 15 minutes". I was surprised and asked if he meant only taking orders for another 15 mins but was told no, closing. When I queried this, pointing out they advertised 5pm as the closing time and not 4.45, I was told "I know but that's how it is." As that left too little time to sit down and have a coffee we were offered take out - it was tipping it down outside. He then suggested we visit Costa round the corner instead. The staff treated us with disdain and it an embarrassing experience. I used to be a regular but I won't be going back. There's better service and better coffee to be had in Cirencester.

I've been to other coffee #1 branches and received very good service, but upon my visit here, the staff behind the till seemed very unsure of what to do and lacked any basic initiative. I had to repeat my order numerous times to the person serving me, ordering two frappes, one small and one large, both without whipped cream, again which I repeated several times. Asking for a receipt was a battle as the lady was clearly put out by me asking. Glad I did, as I was overcharged. Getting a refund was difficult as the person serving me did not know what to do, eventually getting another staff member who just came over and gave me the difference out of the till. My drinks were ready, both with whipped cream on (face palm). I informed the staff member that I had requested them both without and he offered to remake them, but I said it was fine, he can just push the cream off them please. Then the drinks themselves, the frappes, were no more than powdery tasting milk, not what I'd expect for a frappe (compared to costa and Starbucks standards). Very poor value for money for £7! Disappointed, but the staff are definitely in need of improved training and attention to detail on their customer service and communication. Won't rush back.

I replied "Yes", when we got to a table it was noticed that the milk containers were to say the least 'a bit grubby' on the inside. The milk containers need a really good clean, (if there is a dishwasher then what is wrong with a good scrub by hand?). One of the teapots we had difficulty trying to pour tea out of into a cup. Had to virtually dismantle teapot to work out why.The polenta and orange cake is normally very good in other Coffee#1s but this was a bit dry. Both toilets did not have any paper towels to dry hands and one toilet also did not have any toilet rolls!I'm sorry but this was unacceptable from the usual good standard in other Coffee#1s.

Coffee#1 is probably my favourite coffee chain. The coffee usually has a pleasant kick, the atmosphere within their cafes is usually friendly and bustling but on this occasion all the things I value about Coffee#1 were sadly lacking. We've used the Cirencester branch a number of times before (often sitting outside when we were smokers) but today we came into a very quiet cafe, the main barista machine was being serviced and the place felt slightly dismal. We had a couple of coffees and some tap water. The tap water was in a jug by the condiments - not sure how long it had been sitting there - the water was pretty warm and full of bubbles, the glasses streaked and unappealing. The coffee was, at best, passable but the thing which struck me more than anything else was the shabbiness of the entire place. The walls were stained, the windows streaked, the cups and saucers looked unclean. C'mon Cirencester branch - time to put in a bit more effort. You're letting the side down.

We called into this cafe as we were in desperate need of some refreshment on arrival in Cirencester. The cafe was extremely busy with lots of families sitting inside and out. We managed to grab a table but had to move all of the dirty crocks ourselves as no baristas had been to buss tables. The girl on till was pleasant enough but I had to shout virtually to make her hear the order as cafe so noisy inside. I thought it extremely odd that she popped our food at the back of her work station beside somebody elses order, I asked her if i could take our food over to our table and she looked surprised and said " oh ..yeah ... ok then" which I found very peculiar, how else was it going to get there? Whilst awaiting my drinks I watched a woman with a larger order pull a puzzled face when asked by young chap if everything was there? She said it was, except for her food! Said food was forgotten about sitting behind the young girl at her work station. What a strange system? The food and beverages were quite nice but the procedure that these baristas follow is bizarre. The cafe was extremely cluttered for the whole of our visit. I did smile to myself when in the toilet -when I caught sight of the spelling error on the sign, on back of door which had been corrected by the grammar police.

We went for lunch , the panini and slaw were great but I was very disappointed by the grubbyness of its tea pots , milk pots and general cafe areas , at least the toilets were clean, All young staff , bit slow service , it's a shame as been to other branches which were so good, their food especially is great,

We popped in during a day trip to Cirencester during our holiday in the Cotswolds. The decor is appealing and the cafe was large so as a party of 5 we knew we'd get a seat. Unfortunately the cafe was so disappointing. The cups, teapot, milk jugs were all teastained, watermarked and dirty. There were more tables heaped up with empty cups and dirty plates than there were clean tables, and the staff even came and wiped the table down but didn't think to remove any of the empties? Even the bathroom was dirty - my poor sister had to clean the urine spattered toilet for a good 5 mins before she could even sit on it, and there was no soap!! There were three girls working there who were gossiping behind the counter rather than dealing with the filthy state of the cafe, and they were singing inappropriate song lyrics while serving customers - my husband was a bit surprised to hear the girl singing 'I know you want to see me naked' (Rihanna!!) while collecting his coffee!!Overall the management need to really pull their socks up.

Quick lunch while visiting Cirencester, full when we first walked past but by one the crowds had dispersed, excellent pea soup, fresh squeezed fruit juices and paninis.Helpful and friendly staff. Food freshly prepared and served quickly.Only slight downside was the toilet seat was not attached properly and would not remain upright.

Probably the worst place I have been in during my long life. Filthy tables with a floor covered in water and dirty paper towels. The water bottle was cloudy with sediment at the bottom and the glasses were also in need of a good scrub. My cup of tea was served on a dirty tray with the milk slurped out of the jug. My husband refused to have a drink and went to the loo. He said this was filthy too in the worst possible way. Needs to be inspected by the Environmental Health.

Popped in here for lunch while on holiday in Cirencester. It was Ok but my teapot was not clean and the service was overly friendly.

The young woman who took our order had no eye contact, had a miserable and off-hand manner, and did not even say thank you. When my 'warm croissant with cheese' arrived, it was squashed completely flat in a press...like a lukewarm pancake. The whole point of a croissant is to be light and flaky, risen with thin layers of pastry...any decent chef or cook would have been appalled to have this junk served up! After paying £9.00 for our order of 1 smoothie, a croissant, and a decaff coffee...which I was told to go and pick up myself, after they had brought the rest of the order to the table I was extremely dissapointed. I Won't be returning!

Have visited a couple of Coffee#1s around and they are all pretty consistent - good standards of coffee and food and lovely staff. Cheaper than some other chain coffee shops too.

Quite difficult to find a seat at busy times, but its worth it. Coffee is fabulous, and I can recommend the pastries too. Very friendly service and a great environment if you're eating alone as there are plenty of smaller tables tucked away if you want to get on with some reading. Totally recommend!

A big group of us were warmly welcomed here which was great given they were already busy. The quality of the coffee measured up too!

Only popped in for a takeaway coffee. The staff were friendly and the coffee tasted as good as anywhere. Will eat there next time.

Myself, my grandchildren and my children eat here at least every few weeks. The service is fantastic, and the food is always well prepared and served. It has a lovely atmosphere and we love going here. The children enjoy it and you feel very comfortable taking children in. If anyone in management reads these reviews can I please recommend that you put scotch eggs back onto your menu. We always have them as a starter and they are one of the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately this time we saw it had been removed, also unfortunately there was nothing else any of us could find on the starters so we all ended up having no starter at all. This was a real shame and meant we spent less than we normally would have done with yourselves.

Bibury is such a beautiful place, we had hoped to find a pub that matched its style. This is a great spot for a basic pint and chips. The place itself is tatty and run down but served its purpose as a pit stop, we chose not to eat here.

Fantastic hospitality and wonderful food. Sunday roast to die for: roast beef cooked perfectly, vegetables, excellent choice for time of year, also cooked to perfection. Not my first visit and looking forward to my next. Thank you, Sheila, Graham & Staff 😁 Regards A-J & Pat
