We had a Vegetarian Halloumi Breakfast and Pie Chips and Peas - there was attention given to the order (poached or fried eggs etc) the standard of cooking and presentation excellent and all fresh cooked. Will be returning.

Terrible food stored on hot plate don’t wast your money not worth the wait

Scrambled eggs on toast plus coffee, wife had fruit scone and coffee,both very nice.

Great find! First time I'd been in as only just spotted this little gem. Only had a cappuccino and a soft drink but the range of food looked really nice. Definitely go back again

Great food, reasonable prices and really friendly customer service. We'll be going again I'm sure. We've ordered takeaway before and never been disappointed by the food so it was lovely to visit in person and be equally impressed.

We order from here on the odd occasion and we have never had a problem with waiting times and/or the food itself. Food is always warm (or cold wherever appropriate) and delicious. The chips are proper big chunky homemade chips and are absolutely beautiful! From our very first order Coffee Thyme has quickly become our go-to lunch time place to order from 😁

Good breakfast. But the floor and the windows were filthy. Grotty. Mirrors filthy and the glass counters needed a proper deep clean. It's a shame. It didn't used to be like that

Went for lunch today at Coffee Thyme service was way too slow, over 30 minutes to get our food. People arrived after got they food before we did. Poor service, food was ok.

Great little spot! Bacon is good quality, sausages less so, but the hash browns were Bob on! 👌🏻

Ordered 3 times each time didn't go well. o Order 1 I placed my order explained I was working from home due to Covid and ask if they could message me when my order was on its way so I could log off for my dinner break which they did, only to be still sat waiting 45mins later into my 1 hour dinner finally turned up but had 15mins to eat it so didn't really enjoy. Over 45 minutes for sandwiches is a bit ridiculous get order a hot takeaway and be here in less. Ordered 2 Learning from my last mistake I didn't put myself on dinner break, over 1 hour later still nothing so i messaged them they read my message but no reply, next thing a knock at the door was my dinner and apologised because they forgot about me. Ordered 3 This time thought id order for collection because could pick a time and isn't far from home, was advised to message them once I here which I did, 10 mins later still waiting outside then got a message saying am I coming to collect or not. When I was outside, with Covid I stood to one side out of peoples why but all time I was there I didn't see anyone check. During covid I've tried to support local business more than normal but with this experience won't better back to Greggs. After my troubles my friend called to order 2 bacon sandwiches which she walked out when seeing what the member of staff was doing, using her phone, handling money then touching food without washing her hands or putting gloves on which is bad enough in general but with covid even more disgusting. Food was ok nothing special but nothing wrong either in my opinion food is over priced but like I said was trying to support a local business so I was willing to pay extra to do so but didn't get extra in return only extra hassle.

Used the guys on two occasions for cakes etc and absolutely spot on every time, fast, friendly and reliable service and yummy cakes.

Haven’t been able to get in since COVID kicked off but always used to call in for a coffee and a sandwich. Great coffee and really friendly staff. Immaculately clean too.

Been to cafe thyme today, 3rd august, beautiful cakes, homemade quiche hand made chips, lovely coffee. As it was eat in to help out,so worth every penny , I will go back even after the offer as expired.

Well , what can I say, excellent service, very 🧽 clean, amazing desserts. My sister and I went today 3rd august, first day of eat in to help out. Homemade quiche hand made chips and salad, (I did say homemade coleslaw, but we didn’t get that) fresh coffee. Then my sister couldn’t decide which cake, trifle, cheesecake. So she bought them all. All half price. The staff and food are lovely. You won’t be disappointed, but it’s not licensed, but everything thing else perfect.😋

A fantastic little cafe. Been coming here at least once a week with my kids and friends for 6 years, So clean, staff polite and food lovley with plenty of choice. Real filtered coffee and nice milkshakes. Cant wait to be able to come and sit in again

Had a lovely afternoon tea delivered yesterday as part of a surprise from my sister. It was really nice especially the cupcake 😁. Thank you so much for delivering to 4 separate houses in time for us to share our lunchtime over FaceTime and with lovely food.

The cafe is doin a great takeaway menu during the lockdown I ordered 5 afternoon teas for my daughters birthday an she says it was brilliant and so much food so thankyou to coffee and thyme for a great quarantine birthday treat for the family

Called in here a few times and the food and cakes have always been lovely. Would definitely recommend the homemade cheesecake, it's one of the best I've ever had.

Went for coffee and breakfast. Nice welcome, friendly staff and good food too. Had the breakfast special and it was a good size for the price. Will return if/when back in Wombwell and in need of a good breakfast.

Been here several times now. Always a nice welcome. Clean and tidy eating areas.You can see straight through to kitchen so nothing to hide. Good selection of hot and cold meals on the menu and the specials board. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Fabulous cakes and scones. My favourite lunch is the bacon, brie and cranberry toasted panini with side salad. We have also ordered lasagne with chips and garlic bread and a full english breakfast. The chocolate brownies are delicious. The only down side is service is a little slow.

Chicken Kiev for lunch with chips and veg, tasty and served well. Friendly staff well worth stopping for a bite to eat at lunch. Breakfasts are also tasty when I’ve had breakfast there.

Nice coffee shop although freezing inside as they leave the door open although closed it when I asked. They also have decided the new law on not charging for credit card payments didn't apply to them. Food ok

Stopped here for cheese toasties and coffee and found everything to be clean, friendly and very reasonably priced. Food was delicious too! Well worth a visit if in the area.

I go to wombwell on a regular basis and visit the coffee and time cafe.clean and good food.they serve cooked breakfast .sandwiches and cakes can also be purchased.coffe and tea /soft drinks This is a very clean cafe with well run politics staff.

Visited with family adults and children, although one meal was sent back it was replaced with no trouble. All in all good food and excellent choice of cakes and desserts available to takeaway too. Friendly staff good choice of food and drink in a welcoming and clean environment.

For this place, delicious is an understatement. I went here two days in a row and I swear it got better each time. A great place if you want to study or come for some quiet/alone time

Been visiting every week for the last 9 months on the way to visiting mother. Down to earth locally run cafe serving wholesome food, loved by the locals. Food prepared on site, fresh, cakes home made. Reasonably priced and very popular. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Call in if you are in Wombwell, preferably before 1pm

Excellent place to visit! Small coffee shop that serves full meals, what more could you want? Staff are a credit to the shop, they are lovely! Make you feel really welcome and at home. My Nan and Grandad have now become regular customers due to this. It's is exceptionally clean and the food is incredible!! It is suitable for customers who do slimming world or weight watchers as they have a healthy menu you can choose from! The normal menu is great too, lots of variety to choose from and well worth the price (which isn't expensive at all). I would recommend the toasties and the hunters chicken as these are both beautiful! The chips are homemade as is the pie and most of the meals they serve! Great service. Great food. Overall great venue

Nice place to go for a quick cuppa, a meal or a slice of homemade cake. The staff are really friendly, and remember what your regular order is even if you've not been in for a few weeks.

Having moved away from the area for a while I was happy to see that Coffee Thyme was still around when I came back. I’d always liked to visit and even completed my work experience there during my school days (many years ago!) With it turning cold I thought a Hot Chocolate was definitely in order and it was lovely, certainly warmed me up. The panini I had was delicious, I nearly ate my fingers! There was however a big put off to the visit, the noise! But the noise wasn’t from customers, it was the staff. Countless food/drink orders being shouted (quite loudly) from one at the till to another hidden in the kitchen. That part was really not enjoyable, surely there is a better way to communicate orders?

This cafe is hit and miss with food I had a breakfast sausage was really brown wrinkle lots of liquid from mushrooms and salty bacon tasted disgusting.My son had meat and potato pie it was flavourless.Very dissatisfied the owner asked what was wrong and offered us cake.Not happy!

The meals are excellent value for money and the staff are always welcoming with a friendly smile.

Visited this cafe while away with work and had lunch the menu has a great choice of food on however the cake selection is amazing! Had the cheesecake and it was heaven!

We visited twice last week on Tues 21st and Fri 24th & both times the wait for food was ridiculous and it wasn't even hot and the chips were burnt! Normally enjoy it but the kitchen and service was a shambles nobody seemed to know what they were doing! I know it gets busy but it's put me off going again. It seems a shame it's going down hill.

Called here for the first time today. On entering I found that it is bright and welcoming. I was made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. I ordered coffee and a piece of cherry cake. The menu is varied, simple and reasonably priced. The tables are soon cleared and cleaned. I will certainly visit again when shopping.

Dropped in for lunch and it was busy - good sign. Decent menu (not too big to cope, not too small to be limited) and food and drink ordered. Hot drinks rapidly arrived followed by the piping hot food. Would definitely go again especially seeing the quality of the quiches and pies in the chiller. Lovely, warm staff. Only downside - cash only so be warned. There is a hole in the wall opposite!

Nice and clean. Much better menu then before. Coffee was nice and hot. My toasted teacake would have been better if butter was used instead of margarine. A bit tasteless. Would go again.

Returned here again as I was in Wombwell. As instructed in reply to my last review, I ordered a toastie eve though they did not appear on the menu last time, but I see they do now! Had I not been going out for tea I would have tried the meat pie, so I see I am in for another visit! The staff are very friendly and obliging. Another plus point is that even though the drinks come before the food, they stay hot until you have finished eating. It is a pleasure to eat here.

Just had the best omlette ever.plus excellent service from all the staff. Rest of the family had all day breakfast and that was also excellent. Everything about the food and service was spot on .thank you all very much.

I visit Wombwell quite often but have never bothered to stay for lunch before. However on two occasions now I have decided not to rush but visit Coffee Thyme. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The only thing that is disappointing is that there are paninis on the menu but no toasties, which I prefer. Nevertheless, the paninis come with crisps and salad and make a decent lunch, but having read other reviews I may sample the chips next time!!

This was my first visit to Wombwell in 20 years. I was brought up here so the friendliness of the staff was to be expected. The food was good. We just had tea and cakes but the home made scones and were light and tasty. Lovely little place.

My boyfriend and I came here after a long walk in the rain. We had read reviews for the cafe, and we were looking forward to trying it out. We arrived at about ten to two, and we sat down and placed our order. We then realised that the cafe actually closed at half two - but we figured that we still had forty-ish minutes before it closed.

Smashing service, a great relaxed atmosphere and down to earth food. I am a vegan and not easy to please, but chips & beans in a nice town went down very well indeed. The proprietor is a very kind and genuine person indeed.

The atmosphere was really quiet. Staff were really friendly. The drinks are lovely with a lovely variety of coffees. There is a variety of hot chocolate flavours that are all very nice. With great Value this a café which I will always spend a cup in when I'm near.

Was in Wombwell on business and decided to drop in here for a bite to eat,im so pleased i did,nice clean eating area,superb choice of food and service second to none.The owner i found out to be Natalya has just taken over the place, staff are busy yet nothing is a problem for them,the atmosphere was really relaxing.When leaving was asked if everything was ok with meal and told thankyou, as if id been going in years.

I visited the café for the first time this morning and it certainly won't be the last! A refreshing change to feel completely at ease in the surroundings, far superior to other local greasy spoon cafés yet there is no pretentiousness so it was easy to enjoy our visit. The staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. My husband ordered the huge special breakfast and paid 35p extra for a caramel latte, while I had the home made shepherds pie served with home made chunky chips and gravy. I asked for a drinking chocolate and was amazed to be offered an eclectic mix of flavours for the same price! I settled on the Rocky Road flavoured chocolate and it was sublime but I also fancied the chilli chocolate drink so I think that will be my next order . My husband said it was the best breakfast he'd ever had and he was impressed with the standard of presentation. I could not fault the shepherds pie and chips as it was cooked to perfection and plenty of it! This has proved to be a hidden gem. After chatting with the owner we found out she has recently bought the business and has lots of new ideas and plans for its future. Our only regret is that we were too full to enjoy one of the many home baked cakes, buns and biscuits on display. The scones were huge! I can heartily recommend a visit here, you certainly won't regret it. Keep it up Natalya and all your staff!

This family run coffee bar, in the middle of town, is clean, not too expensive and offers freshly prepared food and drinks. The friendly staff are cheerful and willing to oblige your preferences and needs. All food is home cooked.

The best cakes and buns I have ever tasted at competitive prices

A nice clean and friendly cafe all food is home made and very nice.children are welcome and plenty of room for a pushchaîr not sure if there are any high chairs but I'm sure there will be.
