Got to be the worst cafe anywhere, disgusting ( microwaved) dried up hard cheapo burger but even worse sweet potato fries that were a soggy like warm affair with uncooked bits, couldn't eat them, hot drinks were luke warm and the worst bit flies everywhere, in November!!! Dirty grimy place

I love The Range as a store and have visited several times and today decided to give the coffee shop a whirl.......really wish i’d not bothered and gone home.......spot of light lunch so we chose cheese and tomato toastie and a bluberry muffin for my partner and a pot of tea. Alarm bells should have rung when someone was returning their meal as barely warm and dirty cup. But thinking well you cant really go wrong with a toastie we’d remain in the queue.....don’t know where the cheese was but it was more like tomato on dry toast.....awful and tasteless. The blueberry muffin was soggy. The tea was served up in a pot with a costa coffee cup!!! I had to search through the cutlery for a clean knife and fork.....clearly either the dishwasher isnt working or whoever washes the pots need sacking...with a queue and only two people behind the counter, they clearly weren’t coping....what an absolute shambles and it cost £15 - please dont waste your money on the coffee shop

I sometimes visit here when im in the range and want a bite to eat, its ideal for where it is, so the food menu is limited, which is understandable, its for light bites to fill a gap, Ive been a few times and always enjoy it, the staff are pleasent and the food is nice, the only thing I think is that it is quite expensive, but thats not the staffs fault. It has always been clean when ive been there. Mandy

I ordered drinks and a steak pasty, tuna melt panini and a jacket potato with chilli/cheese, the pasty was over cooked and very dry, my potato had a spoonful of chilli and they forgot the panini so after waiting 15 minutes we had to remind them. Once it finally arrived it was ok. They have offered a free drink next time to apologise, all in all it wasn’t worth nearly £20 and I definately wouldn’t return or recommend.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime and the cafe situated at the rear of the store was very busy. There were a queue of customers waiting and one lady taking orders with another two heating and preparing item. Despite the amount of customers the staff coped very well. We chose two cold drinks and the slices of the vegan caramel cake and went to sit on the sofas. The selection at the cafe was made up of cakes, jacket potatoes with various fillings, some bacon and sausage rolls, premade sandwiched and toasties which were to be heated up, plus various hot and cold drinks. Some people had taken their drinks back to their tables and were waiting a few minutes for the food to arrive. The cake was delicious and I will recommend eating there if visiting The Range store. The cafe requires you to clear your own table but taking your tray to the shelf. The toilet is at the front of the store and has just one mens and womens, its worth bearing in mind as there was a long queue of people waiting.

Dee dees cafe Derby, well what can i say, its the most un welcome i have felt in a long time. U go to cafe's to relax not to be hassled, i ordered a tea and cake and hot chocolte for my child then they hassle u and say would u like this or that or the other, no i just want what i ordered, people shouldnt go in to be hassled their there to relax. The manager there is rude (Jane) very un professional, she weres makeup and dresses like a slapper, not a way to dress when ur supposed to be professional. Plus dont think she know about dates i went i. There and noticed the milk she was giving people was 1 day out of date. Thats not good for a profeaaional business. Plus have they heard about cleanliness, the tablea were left uncleared for at least 30 mins. She spoke to her staff like their slaves, i have been in a few times and once when she was away or of sick and it actually was a lot better then, when she wasnt there. She was rude to her staff saying that one of them (Kate) was incompetant and cant do her job, when actually i saw her doing a very good job, she was a lot more politer and more professional than the actual manager and dressed better to, think the manager needs to give her more responsibility as she was telling me that she has been a supervisor before at another compass location. In my opinion if they get rid of the manager then it will run a lot smoother.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon coffee and cake. The service was warm and friendly and the coffee and cake were delicious. We will definitely be returning again very soon.

Today was my 1st visit to this cafe and the last! They had 2 members of staff on 1 was busy talking to customers while the other 1 was in the kitchen, there were dirty tables and pots everywhere. At the counter I rang the bell several times until the other member of staff appeared not a hello how can I help you nothing! I placed my order and sat down when the food came it was half cooked and cold it was disgusting and the 2 ladies there didn’t seem to care. No customer service here just a lot of dirty tables and rude staff

This area of the Range is a welcome retreat while other folks are shopping, reasonable prices with the local competition nearby (two Costa's), nice area to sit in and a good experience.

A really good place to have a coffee prices are very reasonable cakes are delicious seatings really good

Popped in with my Dad for a quick drink , nice clean tables and plenty of places to sit . However when I went to order , there were no staff at the counter . 2 popped their heads round the corner but carried on talking . After a minute or so I asked to be served , 3 staff then appeared . I was served by an older lady ( mutton dressed as lamb ) long hair in a pony tail , work blouse unbuttoned to show cleavage, lots of tacky jewellery....need I say more. I asked for 2 hot chocs. Wasn't offered any whipped cream or marshmallows, when I asked if I could have them she said " you can but they're extra " with a bit of attitude added . Would I come here again ? No , the staff need to go on a customer service course for starters .

Lovely coffee shop and really friendly staff Nice tea and coffee with a delicious blueberry muffin Sunday afternoon, not long before closing..staff did not attempt to rush us like some places and were chatty and lovely!

I popped into the Range coffee shop with my mother for a coffee I don't know if I've caught the staff on a bad day but the one that served me was very rude had no manners at all , the way she treated me made me feel like I will never visit the coffee shop there again .

Xmas shopping, boredom kicks in (very quickly) have a pit stop for Tea & Cake, plenty of choices and all good.

Not done this review previously as we always knew the coffee shop as DeeDee's which ws not found by Trip Advisor searches. Have visited Café' many times when DIY type shopping there has always been room at the tables and the area is kept very clean and tidy by the staff. Food for us has usually been basic or even just hot/cold drinks, the variety of sandwiches, panini's, cakes etc is impressive and should suit most diners. Will definitely be visiting again soon to look for potential Christmas gifts.

I don't know why we bothered really. The coffee was average, surroundings uninspiring, choices limited. Gluten free options dire, heard someone being told they had run out of teacakes, and someone else was taking their jacket potato back. This cafe could be a little gold mine , its more like a coal mine at present

I tend to visit here to meet friends whilst shopping. Staff always friendly and accommodating but struggle to clean tables at busy times. Coffee good, meals/food basic. If you are looking for a re-heating pastie then this is for you. Good for a quick latte and a toastie.

Lovely chance for a sit down while shopping. Nice cuppa and cake all round. The staff are friendly and always have a smile to greet people

I visited here with my one year old daughter for lunch on a Saturday and was really disappointed with the lack of empathy from the staff. As expected on a Saturday the coffee shop was busy and the only remaining seat was on the opposite end to the counter. As this is self service I queued up with my daughter in her pushchair and when I got to the front I realised I wouldn't be able to get the tray and my daughter to the table at the same time. The staff saw my struggles and just told me to leave the tray and come back for it once I'd taken my daughter to the table meaning I had to leave her there on her own. I'd ordered a jacket potato for her and when it arrived I explained that there were no teaspoons and the lady shrugged and said there were more there now- I then had to leave my daughter alone again. The food itself was pretty dire- microwaved potato that was raw in the middle and questionably clean cutlery- crusty food on a lot of it. I also got a little yoghurt for my daughter and when it was opened it consisted of bits- like it had got too warm so I left it. Won't be returning.

Lovely friendly place! Always greeted with a warm welcome. A good selection of cakes and scones and the pizzas are very nice!

Met here with friends for coffee, nice area and the staff were friendly and helpful, prices were cheap too.

We always stop & have a coffee with a snack or have lunch here, but was told that there was no jacket potatoes left , no bacon rolls left it was 12-30 (to run out of food at dinner time seems crazy) and I found this not good , the staff were not that friendly or helpful ,not putting them selves out at all, there was used plates left on tables big flys landing on the un cleaned tables this really put us off .This cafe could be a gold mind but needs the right person to run it ! Normally on Tuesday there is a middle aged lady on who is lovely & so helpful I hope she hasn't left ,I shall find out her name as she makes the place so much nicer to go to plus she is very tidy even if it's busy & very is accommodating, if there isn't what you'd like out she will go and get it made for you .

Friendly staff, lovely coffee cobs and cakes, excellent price, great service, definitely worth nipping for a quick coffee before shopping round the range. They even have crayons and paper for little ones to draw on at the tables

Visited The Range today and spent so long looking around the craft section with my friend so we decided to get a couple of drinks, we then saw the pistachio cake along with many other options and bought 2 slices, It was moist and delicious.

Called twice over the weekend when visiting family, for coffee and cake. Wasn't disappointed, hubby and I tried the Christmas special coffee with the flavour of ginger, really yummy.

I visited with my mum for a coffee mid browse and we had cake and a drink each but we weren't able to enjoy them as there were lots of flies and they were hovering around our food and drinks which put us off.

Nice choice of food and excellent coffee. Plenty seating and space. Choice of paninis, sandwiches and light lunches.

Travelling loads and meeting different people I don't get much time to properly dine and eat food with clients during the day. The range is a great place to stop and have a quick snack and coffee when meeting business clients. The food is great and the staff are extremely pleasant. It's something different to your standard costa coffees and Starbucks etc. Always worth checking out this place if you fancy a different place to get your coffee...

Serving hot/cold drink's, breakfast, sandwiche's, light lunch's, cake's etc. Coffee shop is clean and light with table's well spaced out, lot's of comfortable (sofa's) seating available. Plenty of free parking is available at the Meteor Centre.
