Coffee Rappor Bar in Hartlepool

I visit Hartlepool from London several times a year and always make a beeline for this lovely cafe. The staff are friendly and the coffee is delicious - they know how to make a decent espresso which isn't a given in many cafes. I recommend the gorgeous vegan chocolate sponge pudding - ask them to heat it up. Goes nicely with coffee. Thankyou to all the staff.

My partner & I visited after failing to get served in the Copper Kettle! Totally different experience here - very prompt service. Good breakfast, set us up for the day!

Weekday morning- Popped in for quick coffee Lovely, nice staff, really clean. Overall would recommend.

Staff very accommodating as ten of my friends and I descendended on them for brunch and they were went out of their way to move tables and sit us all together. The food was good especially my bacon, cheese and cranberry pannini. The service was fast and good, food delicious and staff efficient. We will return.

Been twice now with my mother-in-law. Lovely friendly atmosphere, staff are very nice and food is excellent. Think it might be our new Friday lunch jaunt.

excellent service... very clean, relaxing atmosphere, found a seat near the window and the service was very good.. explained the new menu and we enjoyed tea, breakfast bun and bagels with peanut butter.... we will return..

This is by far the best coffee house in town, if you haven't tried it yet call in and sample the fantastic selection of fine blended coffee Forget the Costa's and Starbucks

Came here today for a late lunch food was great I always enjoy the coffee anyway staff are usually really pleasant but today as I was sat eating my lunch I had to witness one member of staff speaking to another member of staff like something on my shoe which I would of stood in, I was absolutely mortified!

looking for somewhere for a late lunch and came across this cafe. We were looked after very well, friendly staff. Have very nice coffee's and my daughter enjoyed her peppermint tea. Our panini's were freshly made and very tasty and we had almond tart and double chocolate muffins to follow. Would definitely visit again next time we are in the area

Yet again a lovely lunch in a lovely place on the Marina. Tuna melt panini for me and baked potato for the wife. Very nice. Coffee was lovely, all in all a very pleasent place for a light lunch

lunch was goats cheese tart with bacon and caramalised onion .....salad and coleslaw - cant wait to go back - clean plates - very tasty - very helpful staff - cappachino with soya milk as I cannot tolerate milk - well recommend x Barbara and sandra

Had a lovely little lunch in there, the staff were so helpful, knowledgeable and so friendly. Food was great, had the quiche of the day which was bacon and mushroom, sooo good!! Plus some sweet potato fries. Yummy!! The smoothies are so nice and the coffee is really good. Definitely going back!! 😀

Lovely never disappointed light lunch and coffee well presented and very tasty. The chap who was preparing the food popped out and was very friendly and nice to chat too. The day we visited was a wet miserable Tuesday but the visit brightened our day.

Been coming here for years.Standards have never dropped and it shows, places are always closing down on the marina but Rappor has always been here (and even knocked into next door) witch is great to see!Always fantastic coffee, friendly staff and good value.Highly recommended

Me and my family came to have dinner and we were well looked after from staff holding doors to offering free deserts. Defiantly recommend!!

Visited early one morning, I think the cafe had just opened so was served quickly. Chose a latte which was very nice and in a good sized cup. The coffee came with a free toasted tea cake. Cafe very clean and a nice atmosphere. It's a reasonable walk from the beach and made a nice change from going towards the supermarket/fast food area.

Visited on a Friday morning, greeted by a man stood outside saying 'free toast or tea cake with any hot drink', at that moment I did ask myself why they would be giving away free food if the breakfasts were OK. Should have gone with my gut instinct :-( we ordered bagel with bacon and scrambled egg and bacon sandwich. Presentation was very unappetising, bacon obviously been microwaved along with bowl of lumpy scrambled egg (black lumps included). Staff pleasant and drinks were fine.

Had a gorgeous lunch of beef in gravy baguette and chips. All the food was delicious and freshly made. Really enjoyed it staff couldn't be friendly and service was very good. Definitely be going back.

Have visited here many times. Their coffee is the best, it's rich and strong. Their food is good too.I love the atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The Rappor Bar is one of my favourite places to eat in Hartlepool. The food is always great and never expensive. The staff are always kind, courteous and very helpful. The bar is always clean, and well presented and I always feel at comfortable there, whether it's for a cup of tea or my lunch.I will definitely go again.

This place used to be my favourite, however I didn't enjoy this lunch as much as normal. The menu has been updated so I ordered a new panini - which was ok- not sure if it was the choice I made or the chicken in the panini ?? Wouldn't order it again though. Will stick with what I know in future.

The staff were friendly and kept checking that everything was ok. Service was good and would definitely go again.

I visited the Coffee Rappor Bar on York Road Hartlepool on Friday 14th October 2016 and was greatly surprised by the improvements in not only the range of food but also in the professionalism of the staff and the way they meet, greet and treat customers. The care and consideration, courtesy and commitment to the clientele is way beyond compare in Hartlepool as far as I have seen. Attention to detail was observed and followed up throughout the visit. The food was out of this world and left a really good feeling and taste for a long time afterwards. The final touch was amazing when the young man came to the door and opened it for me and my wife. Really a very very lovely experience on so many levels.

I visited Coffee Rappor Bar on 25/09/16 as it was recommended through a friends Facebook post. I ordered four takeout dinners. They were all presented well and still hot when I got home. The Yorkshire puddings were huge! The mash potato was creamy not one lump! The veg was cooked to perfection and still very bright in colour. And finally the best part was the gravy! You could taste it was made from the meat/veg juices and not from a tub. I will defiantly be ordering again and recommend it to all of my family and friends.

first visit why have I waited so long very welcoming and very clean order at counter and they bring your order over staff very pleasant to talk too I never had any food but family did said it was lovely

Called in this morning for a bacon sarnie and a coffee, wasn't dissapointed. Nice freshly made sandwich and good cup of coffee, I drink mine black and always feel cheated as the machine gives out a measured amount but here they provide a small jug of hot water to top your mug up, we'll done. Staff always friendly and premises clean and welcoming.Nice big front windows so you can happily sit and wwatch the world go by. A definate place to visit.

Cajun Chicken breast, salad & potato skins. Very tasty and really generous portions. Lovely latte too. Nice friendly staff. Would recommend

Friendly coffee bar by day and welcoming bar by night.We attended the Gin and Sing night at Coffee Rappor and what a pleasant surprise that was. Your ticket entitles you to four gin cocktails that are being showcased and then one drink of your choice. The cocktails are all made with different types of gin and are all well thought out, prepared and presented wonderfully by the charming and attentive owner. Before serving, Paul will give you information on the gin, what has gone into it and even the best mixer to have.The cocktails are served to your table with showmanship and each round is accompanied by delicious canapés which complement the flavours of the gin.There is live music from local musicians throughout the evening.The amount and quality of the cocktails and canapés left us satisfied and with a sense of we hadn't paid enough!It was a pleasure to attend. Already looking forward to the next one.

This place is fab, always great coffee, prices are what you would expect from a place like this but the food and coffee on offer is worth it. Great urban feel too with lovely friendly staff and such a clean place too which can make a world of difference! Well done Paul!!

Called in for a cuppa but decided on a bacon sarnie for 2 with a drinks my daughter had crumpets and hot chocolate food lovely and staff great reasonable priced will be returning x

Called in this afternoon for a coffee, try to visit when I am in the town and as always the staff are very friendly, the coffee good and the place is immaculate, always clearing tables and sweeping the floor. They always remember when we go on holiday and ask if we have enjoyed ourselves.

Popped in for coffee last couple of Saturdays and found a table easily the coffee was lovely hot and a really full cup which is rare in a Cappuccino!Scones are lovely and the toasty was tasty and hot.Staff were nice and pleasant the atmosphere is cosy and friendly.Must add the ladies toilets are immaculate!

Apart from the high prices they have incompetent staff.Ordered a sausage sandwich to takeout only to find it was bacon when I arrived at my place of business.Obviously this was too complex a task.Phoned up to inform the staff and they seemed uninterested in my predicament and no apology.Needless to say I didn't eat the sandwich so wasted money.I would not recommend this establishment.

I cant go to the town without popping in here for a coffee. Great menu if you want a snack or something more substantial . Staff cannot do enough for you and are always cheerful and polite

Wanted a quick bite to eat and refreshments so chose here for a change...Took us ages to decide what we fancied as so much to choose from. There Cappuccinos are simply and are worth every penny. with an amazing atmosphere using a combination of music and a great view of the world outside. the staff are very helpful and kind ensuring a timeless experience. and there reputation for being the cleanest place in Hartlepool is well deserved.

Great place for a Bacon sarnie and fresh ground coffee, also sitting by the windows just watching the world go by.They also have a licence to sell alcohol now.

They do fabulous Cappuccino coffee and the staff are very friendly, taking the time to talk to customers is a plus. The place is immaculately clean and tables are always cleared quickly.

In the past I've used Coffee Rapport Bar as a second office (though moving jobs means I frequent it less now) - so this is a more general review than a specific visit. The decor is excellent and sets a great atmosphere, the staff are pleasant and friendly, and the coffee is amazing. The food is good - perhaps not great, but then it's priced keenly with good portion sizes. Serving of food can take time (for me, that's a bonus - I like being in a place with an unhurried atmosphere - and they're always very clear about how long food will take to cook, and their estimated time has always been accurate). Free wifi! Occasionally very busy at lunch time (but that's a good sign!). A generally unhurried atmosphere, and the occasional socket to help with plugging in essentials. There are some negative reviews on here, but nothing I've ever experienced.I think the reason why Hartlepool isn't inundated with chain coffee shops is that they know they'd struggle to compete with this place!

Staff where so polite and made me feel at home, the coffee was amazing along with the foodWould definitely recommend coming here, we went one Sunday and the dinners where beautiful

Have been here quiet a few times. Food is good, drinks are great. There is a selection of soft drinks without added sugar or sweeteners. The cafe is very busy, but it is worth the wait for the quality of food and drink.

Hands down the best little bar I have ever frequented.....the food is amazing and comes out fresh and fast......the range of alcohol is fantastic and the knowledge shared by the staff cannot be compared! Staying at the Travelodge regularly I found this great all round coffee and food bar. Great choice of coffees on offer, I enjoy their cheese scones and their toilets are spotless.Best place for a drink and to watch the world go by.

I love coming here staff are very sufficient and the coffee is a good sized cup with a great taste! Only one or two places on the marina where I can say they do good coffee! I bring a lot of clients here for meetings! The place is clean which is always a win win for me to begin with. Keep up the good coffee

Staying at the Premier Inn and popped in here for breakfast.The staff were very friendly.i had a coffee and panini and my colleague scrambled eggs. Nice atmosphere even on a cold February morning!Delightful place and would thoroughly recommend.

Coffee Rappor is a good place to have a nice fresh ground coffee and a bacon sandwich, sit and read one of the news papers that are available for customers and watch the world go by or the people of Hartlepool. there is always a warm welcome from the friendly staff this establishment is always very clean and tidy with a friendly atmosphere.A pleasure to call in.

Been a few times on a Saturday and always enjoy the food so we decided to try the Sunday dinner which we throughly enjoyed, even a picky teenager cleared his plate! It's nicely decorated and very clean, staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you.

When here with my brother do we could have a catch up and it was the nicest friendliest cafe I gave been into. We only ordered two cappuccinos but the staff were so polite and friendly. He asked us to go and choose and table and the personally brought the coffee over himself, he even had time to say thank you for coming. The coffee was excellent, really hot and tasty. As we left the staff thanked us for our custom and said please come again you will be very welcome.

I decided to treat myself to a breakfast it was to die for the scrambled egg was stunning. The staff as usual are so helpful courteous and always happy at work well done all x x

I had a winter wonderland and a gingerbread latte, they were both very nice, well worth what I paid for them. And the service is great here too!

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch here! Will most definitely be returning.... If you Iike a good Sunday roast this is the place to goin Hartlepool! They also do a take out service so was very happy to be able to take my elderly parents a dinner home for them to enjoy.

Coffee Rapport Bar was the perfect setting for a girly catch up, with a relaxed atmosphere and large windows to watch the world go by. My hazelnut latte was gorgeous and I loved the leaf design on top, while my daughter's amaretto mocha was equally tasty and came with a side serving of marshmallows which she could add to her own liking. Because it was after 2pm and we'd ordered 2 coffees we were also offered a complimentary scone or tea cake. We opted to share a fruit scone, which was sizeable, moist and delicious. The deal (which is also offered before 10am) was great value for money and we will certainly be back for more very soon .

A really great place to stop, relax, have coffee and eat. The Manager has made a real effort to serve the town's best tasting coffee in immaculately clean premises - and he's achieved it. Ignore anyone who's posted about service issues...every time I've been, the staff members have been friendly & extremely attentive - without being in your face. A lovely little place that the town should be proud of.

Called in for a coffee after work & pleased to find you get a free scone or teacake when you order 2 large coffees after 2. The fruit scone my mum and I shared was one of the best I've ever had and her hazelnut latte is now definitely on my must try list. My amaretto mocha was also divine & I can't wait to sample the other, white chocolate version. This is a lovely cafe & the service was fantastic. Saw signs for afternoon tea, as well as other food & daily specials while we were there & fully expect this to become a regular haunt.

popped in for a quiet drink ordered a bottle of hobgoblin, price was hotel prices not a venue like this when i approached staff and price of it didnt seem interested , will be giving this a miss in future i was tipped of the place wasnt cheap however did not expect daylight robbery....

Visited for the first time today with a friend,very small but pleasant,we both had panninis & coffee,very tasty & they have specials on the boards which they change every week. We had a very enjoyable afternoon,staff were very busy & friendly, lovely place lovely food,would highly recommend a visit.

I was in town on some travel business and thought I would try this venue.Order quickly taken but over 20 minutes before my meal ( scampi and chips ) was delivered. No condiments on the table. The waitress running around like a scalded cat trying to keep up. Scampi ( eight pieces ) and the soggiest chips i have ever eaten. It was in a word..ghastly.I had a coffee but..this place was not my cup of tea.

Staff are always very welcoming and are very friendly You don't feel rushed as you do in some places to leave after you have finished your drink

I have visited a few times now, and I am yet to be disappointed! The first time was at Christmas time, it was decorated beautifully and they were playing old Christmas carols in the background! The coffees are gorgeous! And come with a little biscuit on the side. And the full English is beautiful and a great price!! I can't fault the service, food or staff, but the last time I visited, it was very busy and we had to sit on the sofas in the corner, which we didn't mind at all, although it made it very difficult to eat our breakky on such small tables!

We ordered a warmed fruit scone and a cheese & onion toastie and waited 30 mins for it. When the scone arrived it was shrivelled and was cold inside. We then asked for another on and that was exactly the same so we asked for a refund. The service was ok but wont be going back there again.

New expanded layout give better experience and more chance of getting a seat if you stay inside, Staff are excellent, clean and courteous. Food is super, Latte could be a bit stronger. But maybe thats just me ?
