Busy place, food good, a bit expensive especially the tea where they charge you an extra pound if you want more hot water. Also sent wrong type of bread for my sandwich. Parking difficult.

Went in to cafe on the corner this morning there was only one table available so me and my sister sat there.I ordered 2 coffees and 2 meals. Next 3 people came in and there was no available tables so one of the staff asked if I would share a table with them,I said no as I didn't want to share a table with total strangers.Then the ignorant owner shouted through from the back that I would share a table next time,I did explain that it was the only table available when I came in.I found his customer service skills to be totally lacking and if this is the way he treats paying customers then I certainly wouldn't dream of going back and as far as I'm concerned he can stick his full English where the sun don't shine.got a full refund and left.

Absolutely outstanding cakes and food 👌 I so wanted to give you 5 stars but after using the loo I had to mark you down for it's cleanliness. Please give a deep clean and paint the walls I realise it gets a lot of customers but it takes 5 minutes to keep checking it smells and looks nice. Well done for everything else and if your reading this and not yet visited it you're missing out!

Fab coffee shop, we called in for lunch today after seeing posts on facebook, got hot beef sandwiches with fries and some Halloween cakes food was all freshly made & lovely! Plenty of staff & really friendly service

Took kids out for a cake one afternoon. Oh my gosh! Cake slices were huuuge and really good! Will definitely return ! Water bowls for dogs available outside which were handy for us as we took our spaniel with us.

Nice place, some of the ingredients used in the breakfast seemed to be cheap and a little bit tasteless (sausage, beans). £20 for two breakfasts and two coffees. A mistake we made is we thought the cafe was dog friendly, when you search it on Google it mentions it's dog friendly. But this is only the outdoor seating, so only take your Pup if the sun is shining. We didn't get any but the cake counter looked really good, looks like they have a great baker.

Was pleased to see opening times had been extended but wasn't happy when I got there today at 8.20am and the doors were locked. Staff member behind counter made no effort to open the door. Walked away - not happy.

Called in for a coffee ☕️ and wow what a place the choice of home made cakes 🎂 was astounding, all home made on site by the owner. I actually thought they were bought in, but nope all made fresh on site. Very friendly service, possibly the best peach melba's and caramel short cake I've ever had in my life. 5☆☆☆☆☆ all day long, will be back soon.

Really delicious paninis and an amazing collection of cakes, with decent prices. Spacious seating inside, and plenty of outside seating for enjoying coffee and cake on sunny days. Everything was clean and hygienic, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a very nice time here.

Cakes are superb. Can be purchased to take away too.

We did not enjoy our breakfast the food tasted cheap and disgusting the table was filthy it wasn't wiped after last customers the help your self cutlery drawer was vile good luck if you found a clean knife or fork! It's a shame Because this place used to be nice but I won't be returning I'd rather have had a mcdonalds breakfast for what rubbish we were served here!!

We had a family meeting with a resident of the home at” Coffee on the Corner” and it was the perfect place. We couldn’t fault anything. The staff couldn’t have done anything more to help and the service was first class as was the food ! Thank you to all concerned.

I got my 30th birthday cake from Coffee on the Corner at Chapel House, it looked beautiful and tasted absolutely lovely, even today two days lasted it still tastes fresh and moist. Would highly recommend.

Closes at 5 but turned up at 4 and was shut.

Great place for coffee, cake and lunch

Travelled down from Ashington today after seeing beautiful cakes on facebook. I can't complain at all the food was nice, mine, hot chocolate was Lushhhhh. Had cakes to eat in and also took some away. I have just had a laugh at some of the bad reviews ha ha how to try and drag a local company down lol. How dare you open at 9am and not earlier ha ha, how dare you not allow dogs inside the cafe 1 star review. One thing made me laugh more is the comments about the place being pricey lol have you seen the price of wholesale ingredients, gas, electric, staff, rent, insurance and everything else lol nothing is CHEAP nowadays lol. However, the prices here are very reasonable and competitive Keep doing what you are doing and we will be back soon.

I have just been for food here with my family. The food itself was ok but we then got a cake which tasted stale. I was polite to the waitress since I work in a cafe myself and know what it's like. A very rude waitress with the black hair then came over with such an attitude, said she had made the cake herself and we were wrong as it couldn't possibly be stale even though me and my dad had both tried it and said the same. She said there was nothing she could do and walked away without giving us even an apology for one the horrible cake and 2 her horrible attitude, let alone offer us a refund of the cake or an alternative. It's a shame because all of the other staff were friendly and helpful but this one person let the whole team down. Having been here before, I definitely will not be returning

Gave this coffee shop a try as the reviews seemed good, shop was clean, the atmosphere when we walked in people were looking at us as if to say who are these, making us feel un easy must be for the regulars only lol, I ordered a panini breakfast it was greasy, I ordered a slice of cheesecake to I didn't like it one bit may aswell call it a cream cake thts all I could taste very bland, and then prices are pretty expensive, saw a member of staff scratching there head didn't go and wash hands, no hair nets either I'm just being honest with this review safe to say I won't be back

Food is decent but I feel it is expensive for location/surroundings. It feels very much like a canteen and not a coffee shop and lacks atmosphere. 25p for an extra pat of butter is cheeky too and staff arent very friendly. Cakes are lovely tho.

Great place, lovely food, nice staff. Used to live near, now I don't. Still go tho. Speaks for itself. Cakes look OUT OF THIS WORLD - sadly, I'm a fatty so cake is the last thing I need.

Lovely local cafe. Food fabulous, from scrambled eggs on toast to sly cakes, and the biggest selection of cheesecake that you will have ever seen! Spotlessly clean. As soon as a table vacated it's sanitised. Brilliant!

Love this place. The staff a great fun and the service is first class. A little work needed in their singing and dancing skills mind!!

This was the very first time I had visited a friend took me and every thing about it was spot on I would 100% recommend the customer service and the hygiene and cleanness was spot on looking forward to my next visit they also do a take away service

I enjoyed my visit to the Coffee on the Corner Cafe the atmosphere was good the service was very good and the cakes and scones on offer was out of this world excellent choice and the food was very good. I can recommend this cafe it was well worth the visit.

Food is absolutely lovely, although they never seem to have avocado in anytime I go which is the breakfast I'd usually opt for so a bit annoying, I think they should just take it off the menu if they're consistently unable to offer it. Staff are usually friendly but our latest visit they weren't, we had breakfast and coffees when we first arrived, I then ordered an extra scone and we ordered more drinks. A member of staff then approached us asking if we were ordering anything else because people were waiting for the tables and basically made us feel unwelcome as if they wanted us to leave. I had planned to buy another drink but she was quite rude, so we left early. A shame but probably won't come back for breakfast, maybe just a takeaway cake option instead as they are delicious.

What a great cafe. I would recommend this cafe 10% and we will be back soon. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. The staff go above and beyond to make you happy and the whole place was spotless. Thank you for an excellent time.

A great little find! First time visiting today and we’ll definitely be back, we had the ferrero rocher cheesecake and it was amazing, I didn’t realise that all the cakes are made on the premises, we didn’t try the food but we will be back soon to give it a go. It’s a nice place to sit as it’s light and airy but it does get very busy because of how good it is and also because the prices are very reasonable. Great choice of music too! We all agreed that the cakes here are far nicer than many of the rather pretentious artisan local coffee shops in the area which charge £6.50 for one slice of cake!

Excellent experience at coffee on the corner. Staff were lovely, food is excellent, I opted for a philly cheese steak panini with slaw and a black forest latte followed by the star bar cake, the other half also chose the panini and a caramel latte followed by the jaffa cake cake all of which we would highly recommend! Great experience overall and will definitely be back. Costs all in for main, drink and desert around £15 which is definitely justified for the food quality. I would highly recommend a visit!

Altering this as had went back to coffee on corner after owner reached out, even tho I stated 1 bad experience wouldn't of stopped me coming back but got to respect things don't always go to plan, but alas I had a breakfast, big daddy with items replaced and it was perfect, everything cooked spot on couldn't fault it, one of nicest breakfasts I've had in a long time, cleared the plate, definitely be back again. 😁

Lovely corner coffee shoppe. The service was exceptional, prices quite reasonable and food acceptable. We'll be back if for nothing else than to try the desserts that look absolutely heavenly.

We saw a Facebook post last year pop up on our newsfeed and we are all the way from New Zealand. We travelled to Sunderland to visit family two weeks ago and made a trip especially to try the food. We loved it and the service was great! Keep up the good work team!!

Visited this cafe a few weeks ago with my elderly aunts. Went on a Tuesday lunchtime and there were plenty of tables and chairs. The decor is fresh and bright - it’s lovely. Nice menu with plenty of choice. Ordered at the till where there were plenty of staff buzzing around, which admittedly was frustrating as the lady taking my order didn’t seem to listen and my order was repeated 3 times. (She kept stopping to say something to staff members in the back and was very slow on the till). We ordered 3 lots of sandwiches which were freshly made and huge with lots of tortillas and salad on the side. My Aunts’ were pleased with theirs. I opted for tuna Mayo which would’ve been lovely but my bread was really thick with margarine which I don’t eat and wasn’t expecting and it sadly overwhelmed the sandwich. However, the filling was plenty and the whole plate was really fresh. I just wish I’d been given the option on the marg. We all enjoyed lovely cheesecakes as the dessert counter was amazing. Price wise it’s good and portion sizes are good. It is next to elderly housing and the place seems to cater for that audience, which I think is a lovely place for them to meet up. If you’re younger, it may feel a bit lacking it in atmosphere.

Absolutely fabulous cafe! Have visited numerous times and loved it. Plenty of delicious food on offer such as all day breakfast, toasties, paninis, spag bol & chips! Along with plenty others! They can get quite busy so it’s luck of the draw if you can get a table, but I’ve been fortunate enough to get a table as I’ve visited lunchtime on a weekday. They have an incredible selection of tray bakes, cheesecakes, cookie pies & all sorts of something sweet. Highly recommend

Lovely cosy coffee spot in a residential area. Friendly and welcoming staff, beautifully presented cakes and cheesecakes. Somethinh for everyone, whether old or young. We had huge cheese scones, delicious warm and served with proper butter. lovely coffee and hot chocolate. We took cakes to go as they were too hard to resist. Reasonably priced especially when everything is baked and made on site.

Made to feel like a criminal for simply taking my dog in when I wasn't aware they weren't allowed. Had been in the shop a few minutes before an angry man with no hair started shouting at me from behind the kitchen 'Get out! No dogs inside!', a simple 'excuse me....' would of more than sufficed. Very embarrassing in a very busy cafe.

The cakes are lovely but the coffees are expensive and there's not really much difference in the taste of a late and a cappuccino. Wouldn't rush back.

Little gem of a cafe. On a residential estate, really convenient for meeting up with friends and family. Bright and airy, with plenty of seating both inside and out. We had arrived only for coffee and cake, which was lovely, but I spotted a couple having a full breakfast and that looked fabulous! Very family friendly, home cooked fare. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately not dog friendly, you have to sit outside not very good on cold or wet days. Plenty of cafes let dogs in so will just use them instead.
