Not been for many years so thought go here for a change. The area you sit in is comfy and clean but that it. Ordered a pot of tea and carrot cake. Tea was tasteless. I love tea! And probably one of worst tasting I had. The carrot cake was generous size but was over cooked. Not nice. Then had a latte, with a biscuit. The latte again was tasteless and weak. The biscuits I've no idea what it should be, I assume shortbread but was not nice. Sorry but won't be returning in a hurry, was too disappointing .

Absolute poor value today Pea leek and cheddar tart off the lunch classics menu ( not a starter )with pea shoots and balsamic dressing COST £7.50 The tart was tiny and slightly over baked with a sprig of peashoot only. Very disappointing!

I visit here regulary and it is always great food and coffee. We visit as a family often for lunch or a drink and cake. They have a great selection of gluten free options on both the menu and the cake offers. A personal favourite is the soup and cheese scone, the scones are huge so bare in mind they are very filling! A great atmosphere and always bright and clean.

Prefer the atmosphere of this nice Bistro to the hurly burly of the Stag Bar. Good choices on a fairly wide menu. Slightly more expensive than the Bar or carvery option, but enjoyable.

A reccommend venue to organise a warm, friendly social meeting for breastfeeding mum's and their babies. We were looked after very well and communication between myself and the staff was friendly and a positive experience. Erin and the staff at the counter were very welcoming and helpful and made my meeting easier by being co-operative and understanding. I will definitely be holding another meet here again.

Popped in again as I know this place offers value and quality in what they cook and the service that comes with it for free. Had a breakfast and a coffee. The drink is first brought to the table, hot and exactly as ordered. A short wait and the food arrives also piping hot. Great value, really nice food well presented, and worth a visit if your passing. Try the speciality coffees.

Had a light evening meal with hubby, soup with a massive cheese scone - couldn't finish it all! But did leave space for dessert - not a huge range, but big enough to have something for most people. Gets filled up quickly considering we went on a Weds night - only just managed to grab a table.

I rarely go to Attleborough however I was with a friend and we decided to stop for a mid morning treat. I had the cheese scone and my friend had a fruit one and I have to say I thought my sister made the best ever scones but sorry Sis but these were to die for. The cheese one I had was really soft and was still warm. My friend said hers was also warm and it was the best she had ever had. I had hot chocolate and that too was really creamy and delicious.

We come here quite often after shopping for breakfast. Usually I have a warm cheese scone - THEY ARE THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! They are soft and doughy and amazing! They also do various cakes, but never seem to have one that makes me differ from my cheese scone choice. Sometimes I pop in for a quick meal before giving blood in the evenings and I have a sausage bap, which is very tasty and you can add a bowl of chips for 50p. I've never had evening food, but if it is as good and the food in the restaurant then it is worth a visit. Prices are fair - what you would expect to pay for homemade food.

We had visited The Coffee Lounge & Bistro for tea & cake in the afternoon before but on Sunday 19th June we has booked a table for an evening meal. We were a family party of 6 adults & we deliberately booked our table for 6pm as 2 of our party were family members visiting from Australia who had a time constraint on returning to their lodgings for the night. Two of our party arrived early & were seated by a very pleasant, friendly, helpful waitress who organised water for the table & their first drinks. The remaining members of our party arrived just before 6pm & a different waitress arrived to take their drinks orders & service our table. We made our selections from the menu - noting that the menu stated that all their food is cooked fresh to order - our enquiry whether the Crispy Sage Chicken on a bed of chilli & lemon crushed potatoes could be served without the chilli was met with a big sigh & I'll have to go & ask, the answer was yes, but that kind of set the tone for the evening with every question on the food etc being met with a big sigh & I'll have to go & ask!!!Unfortunately we then waited well over an hour from ordering for our food to arrive, which we would say was well presented & very tasty. When the plates were eventually cleared from our mains we ordered more drinks & also asked for another bottle of water for the table which was met with more sighs & '... so you want another bottle of water as well as the drinks....." um yes please that is what we've just asked for!!When it came to dessert 2 of our party asked if the Sticky Toffee Pudding could be served with a scoop of the Salted Caramel Ice Cream rather than the plain vanilla - again this was met with big sighs & I'll have to go & ask - the answer was yes but at an extra charge of £1 per scoop as the salted caramel is one of our "luxury" ice creams - which although we agreed to it we felt was on the expensive side putting the price of that dessert up to well over £6 - who knew that replacing 1 scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream with 1 scoop of Salted Caramel Ice Cream incurred such an expense because that's a luxury ice cream!! Another of our party wanted to order the 3 scoop luxury ice cream dessert but as one of the scoops was a Lemon Ice Cream & she hates lemon she asked if that could be swapped for a scoop of the raspberry sorbet again this was met with more sighing & "I'll have to go & ask" & it was made to feel it was such an inconvenience she just said don't worry about it just give me an extra scoop of 1 of the other flavours instead which was met with "well do you want 2 scoops of Salted Caramel & 1 Mint Choc Chip or 2 Mint Choc Chip & 1 Salted Caramel"!!Unfortunately again we waited so long for the desserts to actually arrive the member of our party who had ordered a coffee rather than a dessert had finished her coffee long before our desserts even put in an appearance. Bearing in mind we sat down just before 6pm it was nearly 9pm before our desserts arrived!!It was such a shame as the food was really good quality & full of flavour, if a bit oo the expensive side, but the service really let it down. Our waitress didn't smile once during the whole evening, there was no interaction with us as customers at all it was purely about taking the orders & every question re the food was met with heavy sighs & "I'll have to go & ask". As 2 of our party work in Customer Service training & 1 has worked in waitressing for many years the poor service was picked up on immediately & commented on by the whole of our party, not a great impression of English restaurant hospitality for the members of our party visiting from Australia!! Yes it was Father's Day and no doubt the kitchen were handling orders from the Carvery, The Bistro & the Bar but then make sure you've got enough staff in to cope or at the very least if there is going to be a long delay serving the food ordered let your customers know & have staff on that actually want to give service to your customers without all the heavy sighing & making your customers feel they're being an inconvenience for asking questions or asking for something to be left off or changed on a dish - if everything is "cooked fresh to order" as stated on the menu it shouldn't be a huge problem!! I don't think we will be rushing back for an evening meal there!!

The Coffee Lounge always seems to be crowded and some of the tables leave you hemmed in, a little uncomfortable and short of space. But the food has always been good, particularly the scones, sandwiches and baguettes - although a little on the expensive side. The service generally prompt and personable. So a good place to stop for a break, or for a meeting with friends.

This place is conveniently situated for me to have working lunches and meetings over coffee. My lunch on Monday was really nice - it was the second time I'd had the chicken and bacon salad and it was a generous portion and quite tasty. My colleague's baguette seemed very full and fresh too. The service is counter-order, and seems friendly and efficient enough. I would personally welcome a wider selection of cakes like some regular chocolate cake etc, but no complaints - good quality coffee is served here too

We go often to the coffee lounge for a quick bite and always pleased with it but today was disappointed with the staff. I know it was late morning and extremely busy for the time of day. Was served but a pleasant young man (who I think is the duty manager) we ordered 3 coffees and 3 sausage rolls but as there wasn't any there he checked how long they would be and got told 20 minutes so we waited he then brought our coffees and told us sausage rolls would be there in 5 minutes. As it got quite he left 3 lady waitress there to finish off as another 10 minutes had pasted and still no sauages rolls so asked how long they would be and got told 20 minutes as we questioned it and said they were going to be 20 minutes a half hour ago they suddenly went and got them. I would like to know if this was unfortunate time of day?

A friend and myself were travelling to Thetford and stopped off here on the way.I had never visited before. We chose a Cheese Scone plus tea and coffee. The scone was warmed for us and was delicious. Large and tasted 'home made'. Very good indeed. My tea was not so good though. I had a pot of Earl Grey and there is usually two cups in one of these, but not here. The water was rationed so I had one weak cup and a dribble! Apart from the tea I enjoyed the visit and would go again.

Well after a disastrous visit to the carvery I thought I would try the bistro after reading the reviews. Certainly an improvement but distinct lack of choice especially if you are a vegetarian. Was hoping for a bit of 'silver service' but sadly this was not to be however the waitresses seemed very pleasant and certainly more attentive than in the main restaurant next door but they did only have a few tables to serve. Lovely surroundings but staff really need to step up on their customer service and the odd smile wouldn't go amiss either!

Have just returned home after visiting The Breckland Lodge Coffee Lounge,( referred to as TBLCL by the regulars apparently). I checked my booking with Lacy the receptionist who confirmed that everything was fine. She even had a handsome tall assistant to escort me to my table, thank you Mikey,( He was gorgeous although with a dodgy hairstyles). The whole atmosphere was very festive and the open fire most welcome and warming although I almost melted my Xmas frock as it was a mixture of polyester and viscose, so don't venture too near the fire if you please. My meal was served by a mature but very confident waitress who reminded me very much of the actress from Acorn Antiques, I did mention this to her but she seemed not too pleased but maintained a pleasant prose which I thought very professional.I could not fault any part of my meal indeed I had to pass on the sweet as I felt quite full.Just as I relaxed with a liquor and coffee who should approach me but the master chef himself. He enquires of my opinion of my meal and I filled him in accordingly, thank you Alexis you made Jamie Oliver look like like a common potato peeler and not as sharp. But I digress, as I left the Lounge with Christmas carols softly serenading moi I happened to bump into the Manager himself( How was I to know he would be bent down inthe Middle of the corridor tying his shoe laces? He was very nice about it and quickly apologised for his outburst. In fact after exchanging pleasantries he offered me a free after eight mint the ultimate Christmas experience was almost complete. Imagine my surprise when stepping out into the early evening darkness I noticed two small conifers devoid of any bright festive fairy lights,( one by the coffee Lounge and the other in the raised bedding area). Was this going to spoil my whole TBLCF experience.No........for out of the gloom stepped forward a small but well formed gentleman in blue overalls who introduced himself as Gerard St John Brogan.I could not help noticing the disappointment on your face as you perused the naked conifers, he said.He went on to assure me that both conifers,( even the one in the raised bedding area), would be decked in L.e.d. Multi coloured string lighting by the weekend. The delight returned to my being and as I bid a fond farewell to Gerard St John all was well with my Christmas world once more...Thank you Lacy, Alexis,Margaretta and Colon the managerAnd very merry Christmas to one and all at theTBLCL.

We were the first customers to be seated when we arrived upon opening and my husband and I watched as other customers arrived and get seated. We watched as the server went to their tables first to take their orders whilst we sat there seemingly unnoticed. I decided not to say anything just to see what would happen and one of the lovely ladies who seated us came back from whatever she had been doing and asked if we had been served yet. I said no and she was straight on it. Fortunately all staff on shift were well organized and the barista got through the drinks orders like a champ so we didn't have to wait too long. I ordered an oat milk latte and tarragon mushrooms, my husband had the full fry up. Food was delicious and hot. I felt the pricing was a bit off between our two dishes. Mushrooms on toast with 2 poached eggs and a bit of spinach £12 yet my husband's big fry up also had toast, eggs, mushrooms but then had beans, tomato, bacon ,sausages, black pudding for £14. Not a complaint, more of an observation. When we went to pay, the cashier read out what we had ordered and said Almond milk latte. Good job I don't have a nut allergy! Overall a nice experience, delicious food, friendly staff, excellent chef. Will return.
