Went in and sat at table which had still glasses on it. These were eventually removed . We sat for another 10-15 mins. Nobody came back to our table although it was not busy. We walked out and went to another cafe where we had excellent service and food.

I ordered the sweet chilli chick wrap, my expectation was that it would be battered chicken in a wrap with chilli sauce however when it arrived it was shop bought frozen chicken strips which hadn’t been cooked very well. My partner got the burger, when that arrived it was cold and the onion rings were under cooked. I didn’t eat my wrap and my boyfriend hardly touched his burger. Not a single staff member came over to see how our food was, we weren’t even asked if everything was okay at the counter when we payed… the whole time we were in the 4 girls working we’re just stood at the counter chatting, didn’t seem to bothered about making sure customers were happy. Paid for a meal which we didn’t even eat. Wouldn’t attend again.

Whenever we visit our daughter, this restaurant is a must, a couple of times a week. We'd meet up with her friends at a Friday lunchtime. Sadly, very sadly, I have no way of letting these wonderful Scottish ladies know that we wont be seeing them again as our Daughter Pamela died a few weeks ago.We loved this restaurant.A great place to chat and chillax.

We had the misfortune to go there for lunch today, I say lunch but we never got served. Various waitresses going in and out doing their best not to serve anyone sitting outside. Unless they appeared to know them and could chat for quite a while. After sitting waiting for 15 - 20minutes and the waitress again came out and went straight to a table that had just arrived and started chatting to them, we got ignored inspire of trying to get her attention. She then proceeded to ask what they wanted, I got up and went over and asked did she not want our custom or should we just, she didn't even turn round just said leave, I asked do they not serve tables in turn as they arrive to be told just go.So if your not local it appears don't go there your not wanted. Customer service non existant. One star is to much but not allowed negative feedback numbers.

I had a humble pot of tea and being dairy free which is not a choice I made its medical, I requested soy milk to be told no they don't do it. Also a bit alarmed to see on the menu that this establishment is not responsible for any issues arising from food allergies even though it states on the same paragraph that it may be prepared in the same area. Very alarming!!

The food in here is lovely. Strawberry tarts delicious: perfect, crisp, pastry and plenty of fresh cream. Great selection of home-baking! What lets the place down is the unsmiling, unfriendly, waitresses. I, personally, appreciate that being in the hospitality industry can be hard-going, but, come on girls, crack a smile when you approach customers!

They forgot our order even though they used a tablet to take the order and got a lacklustre apology. Also how can a ham & cheese toastie, a latte and a can of diet coke come to £12. Shocking! Certainly will not be back!

A cafe in the centre of Stranraer serving tasty home-cooked food at very reasonable prices. Service is quick. It can be noisy as the tables are quite close together and some get a draught from the door, but is worth putting up with that. They don’t take cash cards which is not in their favour, hence the lost point.

Toiletten waren schoon. Conclusie prima.

Been a year since we were here before but we knew what it held in store. Freshly cooked and swift service. Great value for money . Poached or fried eggs . The toast and butter yummy yummy and the tea strange enough was perfectly brewed as sometimes you get tea that is really "peely wally" . The pot holds more than you think too. The all day breakfast is just enough to start the day. Thanks guys. £13.90 for two breakfasts with a choice of white or brown bread and a pot of tea

We’re so disappointed that we only found this little gem on the last day of our holiday! We had lunch here with our two children and all of us really enjoyed it. The cafe was busy but we were served pretty quickly and the staff were friendly. It’s nice to see that the chicken nuggets (children’s menu) were freshly made - our youngest daughter loved them! I particularly recommend the chocolate eclair, it was absolutely delicious. I’m sure we’ll return to this lovely area and, if so, will definitely return to this cafe. We highly recommend!

This cafe was choc-a-bloc when we stopped off for a drink. There were tables outside which was brilliant as we had our dog with us. We stopped for a hot drink; hot chocolate. This wasn’t very nice. It was far to sweet. Hot chocolate should be made to add sugar if needed. Despite this, the cafe was busy so must be doing something right.

We enjoyed lunch recently in this coffee shop/restaurant in the centre of the town. There is a decent menu and staff were very attentive and efficient. Portions are generous and well-cooked and these are complemented by an excellent selection of scones and home baking. Very satisfactory all round.

In the area for a few days and needed some lunch. The Coffee Bean is in a street with at least 3 other eateries of the same type so we looked in the window of them all and all were pretty much empty apart from this one which was packed, always a good sign.

Stranraer is rather like the Kyle of Lochalsh, it misses the ferry passengers although a lot has been spent to try to regenerate the town. Whatever, I like Stranraer.

Today we visited and as it was a Sunday i decided on a chicken dinner, big mistake.Where do i start?Chicken was very dry and not hot, roast potatoes were small and hard, carrots were raw, parsnips were rock hard and had a bitter taste.Mash was tasteless and cauliflower cheese had a vague taste of cheese. The peas and yorkshire were ok but the latter was very small. My gravy was lukewarm so they kindly heated it till it was more like molten lava!I had to ask for napkins as apparently us customers cannot be trusted to use the dispensers!I wouldn't advise anyone to eat here, had an upset stomach all afternoon.

We had 6x rooms booked for wedding including the Ash suite paid extra for family and guests fur a wedding the Ash suite there was no hot water for bath and patio doors blowing open and rattling all night. There where still gift left in cupboard from 60th party. Reception staff very cold and uncaring it seen they have had your money and not bothered we where a small party for wedding but should be treated as well as a 200 party not looked down on like something they stood in .the ceremony at the gretna Anville was amazing couldn't fault it fool if laughter and fun but also very professional by all concerned even the piper was outstanding the meal was lovely but very very slow booked for2.30 started gone 3 two course took 2houes ..then had to chase staff for clearing tables as everyone was getting bored by the time we got to coffee and shortbread which was extra there was only 6 at the table

I have reviewed this Restaurant as part of the Galloway Arms Hotel, so this will hopefully clarify the earlier reviews. We have been on a number of occasions since the last review and we have not been disappointed with the food at the Nine Mile Bar & Bistro within The Galloway Arms Hotel. On this visit we chose two times Two Course Specials priced at £14.50 each. The Starters were battered Chicken Goujons, which was quite a large portion and Tempura coated Prawns. Both dishes were very good and the Chicken alone would have been enough for my Wife as a main course. (Small Eater). My Wife had the Beef Stroganoff and I had the Salmon in Dill sauce for the main courses. Normally, we tend to have just the main courses and therefore we had to take home the chips, which were provided along with the Stroganoff half & half. A pint of Moretti is £3.50 and a large Chardonnay is £5.00 and the total bill without tip came to £37.50. The surroundings in the Hotel's main bar is simple, but cozy. A 10 minute drive from Dumfries gets you to this Hotel and I think that it is worth this very small effort.More
