RRALLY good fish and chips although missed an item of food and had to go back for it .

Great food the portions are massive so would recommend 1 regular portion of chips is a good amount for 2 people. Cash only Cash point available at co op just down the road almost next door.

Usually the food is alright but when i ordered fish and chips last night it wasn’t at its best!

Battered Sausage was really greasy and the chips well I've had to chuck them away as most were under Cooked and tasty nasty and curry sauce was a bit on the salty side , probably won't return

Ordered four cod and one chips. Fish was fresh, crispy and a great portion. Chips far too many for four adults. Curry sauce very good too. Will definitely visit again.

Best fish and chips this side of Bath. My only gripe is they randomly close for a couple of months with no warning from time to time. Which is very frustrating when you drive there hungry for fish and chips!

Unfortunately the fish is now half the size of what it used to be. If you are still hungry after eating fish and chips then there is a problem. Its a pity because this is a good fish shop. Revisited today. Nine months later. Fish is now even smaller and the price increased. Its a pity as its a nice place. But its not value for money anymore. And I'll be going elsewhere in future

Excellent value for money, you get a free stone in your meal. For free!!! I didn't even ask for this hidden delight, nothing better than eating some, fish, chips and mushy peas, then biting down on a piece of stone When we phoned them to thank them for our freebie, they said "it wasn't from the chips, the fryer basket is metal", I didn't know that, so they are also a good source of facts, akin to an encyclopedia

Was excited to order from here after reading the reviews. Sadly they forgot the sausages, so we received only chips, which is a bit like ordering from an Indian and getting rice but no curry. Called up in the hopes that they would send the missing sausages, and we were told to order again, which would have taken another 40 minutes or more. Disappointing.

First time ordering from here, we couldn’t believe how big the portions were. Food was delicious as well.

I understand the profit margins on chips must be tiny, but they've really got to try harder - you can't make up for this by just selling a colossal bag of chips along with otherwise terrible food. I ordered a small chips and a chicken pie - the pie was disgusting - barely warm, no obvious filling - more like a damn chicken flavoured pasty than what a chip shop pie should be like. It was coupled with a 'small chips' that was a bag the size of a small pillow and could have fed three. I'd be happier paying more for half the amount of food if only the quality was better.

Very very greasy and although ordered ahead we waited over 15 mins. I guess our experience could vary next time as chip shops often do.

Long wait for sausage and chips to be cooked / handed over, however you do get loads of chips which you always struggle to eat.

This is what a chip shop should be. Just a gigantic bag of chips, the large could serve an entire family. Proper fat fish, battered sausages and real mushy peas. None of your gluten free vegan squid in panko rubbish. Real food for real people.

A solid 4.5 stars. It's our favourite local F&C in Combe Down/Odd Down. Great portions (medium is large!) with friendly staff. There is another chippy further down the hill with better chips but it would be a disservice to name them here.

Okay so basically right I never usually write a review for things. But. The sausage I experienced this night. Damn. It was, in all honesty, an absolute game changer... but that’s not all! The chips... man I read what the people said about the portions... and I’m not gonna lie to you.... I ordered a large just to see if they were the indeed the dogs b@&*+¥•s. And can I just say. The portions were unbelIEVABLE. CHIPS FOR YOU CHIPS FOR ME, CHIPS FOR MARY... chips for the donkey. I love you. Love from me. Ps keep up the good work.

We only have fish n chips rarely but I always go here. The product is always freshly made,so you do have to wait awhile, but that’s ok by me. I must be ordering incorrectly, two fish one chips please, the portion of chips is huge and is such a waste for us, I’ll try another way next time.
