Cod Almighty in Southampton

Estimate for delivery was 30 minutes, after an hour I called to enquire and was hung up on! How rude! Food eventually arrived and was definitely not worth waiting an hour and a half for! Avoid if yo you want your food this week!

Kid bite meal the fish tasted and smelt off this was a great place I didn't phone and complain as I have heard people have been told to f off and to be honest don't need the hassle will definitely not be going back such a shame it's gone so down hill

there was no cheese on my loaded cheese and beans think its a disgrace they cant get order right but i loved the service it was quick and easy

I ordered 3 double cheeseburgers, 2 with mayo and salad and one with ketchup no salad, all 3 came with salad and 2 with mayo AND ketchup. So one person couldn’t eat theirs as they are autistic and cannot have sauces mixed. On top of that the chips just tasted like old deep fat fryer oil. Will never be ordering from here again.

Ordered at 17:45. Due between 18:25 and 18:45. Marked as delivered at 18:55 despite not arriving. I called the restaurant to be told it was on the way and the delivery driver had "marked it as delivered by mistake". Likely marked as delivered because they knew they were late. Didn't arrive until 19:05. The curry sauce was basicslly water so that went down the sink. The chips were cold and the fish/sausage was overcooked. Awful experience.

Fish was not nice off, shop sent replacement but was not eaten because of the smell and taste of first fish.

I thought Last time I ordered it wasn't good but gave it another go,but this order especially the Kebab was cold,only 1 slice tomato 1 slice cue it was the worst,and the chips were cold.It has made me sad.

unusually the food was stone cold and arrived 35 minuets after the its on its way message, 20 minuets after the estimated time, the pasty looked like it had been re heated it had hard pastry. the fish was over cooked the whole meal was as if it was reheated from lunch times left overs, very disappointing. defiantly not worth the long wait.

This was the worst food order we’ve ever had, not only was the delivery late which we were informed of but when it arrived it was stone cold and inedible. We’ve picked at it and the majority of it has gone in the bin.

Always hit and miss, one time the kebab will be spot on and the next time it will be in a pool of grease basically inedible

ordered food 18.09 turned up 2000 shop took order to be here 19.15 then rescheduled delivery again because of other deliveries not impressed. then driver should been here by 19.35 latest. food turned up 8pm because driver had another delivery before mine again and got stuck on road in traffic allegedly. phoned shop could not careless from what I could make out just it's on its way. I don't normally leave reviews thought I will this time!!! hopefully people understand this poor service

Some of the order arrived 45 minutes after the stated delivery time. The rest of the order, (after I had phoned), arrived much later. The food was of poor quality and, not surprisingly, cold. Loads of excuses given for lateness.

The food was good the only down fall was it was delivered to my works an hour early

The chips were like warm and the sausages in batter were dry and hard. Think we had the dregs as it was 8-30pm won’t order again.

This was once a great chip shop... What happened...? Chips where hot but... If I could leave no stars I would. The rest of the Food was cold to the point of some items being hard... I didn't get what I ordered.... I was charged higher prices than stated in the menu.... In a word Slop Not fit for consumption Terrible chip shop.

Food arrived hot and well packaged. nothing was missing and the portion sizes were generous. Fish was a great size and good value for money. Tasty. hot. generous sizes.

Food was awful, no taste at all

The plaice was overcooked and quite greasy but the chips and mushy peas were fine so all in all a nice hot meal.

I have ordered several times from Cod Almighty via Just Eat and never been disappointed. The portions are large and the fish has been very good. Nice veggie burgers too. Will definitely be a repeat customer in the New Year.

Food as always was amazing, only issue was the can of drink from the meal deal was missing.

Delivery time pushed back twice and food arrived cold. Spoilt further by coleslaw tipped out from flimsy container so had to be binned. Shame really as normally provides a good service.

Usually I would always recommend cod almighty! Amazing food & most polite delivery, however last night the food was an hour & 40 minutes late, no response from the retailer when I left a message, got an updated delivery time from just eat but it was still 40 minutes later than expected. To then be offered £3 credit for next delivery was not appreciated. I had to order from another retailer to get my family fed! So spent twice as much as expected

Ordered a cheese and onion pasty and they delivered a meat pasty. Considering I don't eat meat it wasn't ideal.

Ordered tonight and there was a mix up about the delivery time. (It was delivered over an hour early). The delivery driver refused to take it back. I was not happy. We weren't ready. I called the shop and spoke to the owner. He looked into it for us and came round himself to collect the order with apologies and promising to deliver again at the correct time. The food duly arrived EXACTLY on time. It was hot and delicious!! I have read some reviews on here which have mentioned overcooked or recooked food. This was certainly neither. Or if it was, who cares. It was perfect. The fish was chunky, piping hot and juicy. The batter was crisp and flavoursome. The chips were chunky and crisp yet soft. Perfect. I must say, there were enough chips to feed a giant with a hangover, but who can think that more food for your money is a bad thing? I will be sure to find an interesting way to use them up tomorrow. In the meantime, I am replete. Five stars. We will return! Thank you

Absolutely delicious fish and chips, thank you so much! Also, exceptional service. I ordered the food to be delivered an hour later. There was a mix up with the food delivery company and it was delivered immediately - way before we wanted to eat. The manager came to our house to take back the food and we then received the food when we wanted it. I have never seen that before and am super impressed. We’ll be back!

Food came with burnt plastic boxes onto the food. Received the chicken doner and took extremely long to turn up. Food was relatively nice though apart from being put upside down in the boxes.

I ordered a small doner and chips and it could have easily fed two people. Really tasty kebab, loads of salad and meat and the chips were excellent! Glad I ditched my hotel meal deal and splurged on this!

I have always enjoyed the food from Cod Almighty. You get a descent portion of chips for your money and they taste delicious and the rest of their food is always very tasty. I definitely recommend them

Always use this place for fish and chips and it’s the first time in a while I was disappointed with the fish. Didn’t taste as fresh as usual. Tasted like a reheated lunchtime cod. Frustrating as it’s normally always bang on

Massive portions . Batter was nice . Chips I'd say average., No crispy bits , could of cooked more . Not greasy tho

Food dried up and inedible, my fish had the batter breaking apart it was that hard and dry, the pea fritter was so over cooked it crumbled and the driver left the food in the SHED for us to discover some time later

Order says 6pm didn't arrive at 6.30 phoned to be told only one driver and going to be another 20 mins, still not arrived at 7 pm, do phoned against to be told another 10 mins. Food was cold and pea fitter was totally disappointed, please don't order from here as told a total loads of lies from start to finish. There is better places to order than here. We have ordered here a few times, but this was the worst, customer relations is very poor.

Gave the delivery driver £20 note, then he proceeded to look at me like I did something wrong and asked me if I wanted my change. When I said yes he acted as if I had ripped him off.

Absolutely appalling. Just not good enough. The cod? UNACCEPTABLE. The utter shock when I saw the grease. Soaked through all the paper. A staggering amount of chips. Will not purchase again very disappointed.

Very very disappointed. Terrible place, was very rude, accused us of lying and told us we were conning them. Late and didn’t provide what we ordered. I would be very very worried ordering from this place again!!! Avoid at all cost.

Chips were great. Sausage and fish was way over battered and hard so we only ate the chips.

Awful just had home delivery 2 lots of fish and chips one cod one haddock it was greasy tasteless and watery . Very disappointed waste of money.
