Coco's Soul Food in Preston

Brilliant food! Been eating there for a few years now and never disappointed. Definitely recommend.

Great place, lively, over three floors. Each floor is small and it’s got a student vibe going on. Budget prices on gorgeous fresh soul food, I had Jambalaya, chicken and spicy sausage with a tomato sauce. It was very good , home made food at a good price. It’s quick and easy, it’s also a take away but sit in and relax, take the weight off and enjoy the atmosphere!

Does what it says, soul food, cheerful and filling. Freshly made jerk chicken or Jambalya with a smile. There was two different beans, rice, spicy sausage and spring onions as well as the chicken and tomato sauce in the jambalya. A homely sort of feel in this very busy cafe, small and cosy with room upstairs as well. Well priced, it’s not aimed at a posh clientele , it’s very friendly and welcoming, well loved and lived in. It does take away but lots of people sit in, you get a tea pot and a cup and saucer. Give it a go! Enjoy soul food in a soul cafe.

Hands down some of the best Ribs you can get in the COUNTRY! To be fair anything you order from here is delicous.

Small and delightful food place with reasonable prices and quality food. Variety of menu and various specials offer a wide selection of dishes to try out. Fans of spicy food will feel at home over here. The staff are friendly, and while the place itself may come off as rather small and cramped there is additional seating upstairs enough that outside of extreme rush hour situations one can find a place to sit comfortably for dining in. The interior decor may be an acquired taste, but fits thematically for its age.

Excellent food, great value. Queued out of the door we were worried we'd have to wait but the staff were so professional and efficient that we were served in no time. Definitely coming back here, a hidden gem.

Honestly so overhyped i tried the burrito, jerk chicken burger, jerk chicken eith rice, and cocos soul foods burger and the flavors are just horrible .. homemade chips were alright tho tbh

I visited during my trip to Preston to see family and really enjoyed the food, though I wasn’t a fan of the skin-on fries. I highly recommend the chicken burger and the Korean BBQ wings!

Big portions of tasty filling food. The best goat curry I’ve had in a while. Friendly staff. Loads of seating (seats upstairs too). Staff are friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable for portion size. Well presented. This place has a real homely feel to it. Highly recommended.

As a casual dining / take away option this was first rate. Delicious food, good fast friendly service and fair price.

My first experience with Caribbean food was a decent one, had to get the curry goat of course and it was quite good, wouldn't put it over an indian though. Meat was very fatty which I'm personally not a fan of.

Been coming to cocos for the last 10 years, and the food and service has always been 10/10, price is slighlty on the higher side compared to other local food places but the food is well worth it, like the saying goes “you get what you pay for” and cocos is definitely the best quality food around Preston. A must try is the New Orleans prawns and the Cajun blackened chicken with half rice and half chips. My mouths watering 🤤

I must have been coming here for over 10 years. Every meal I've ever had has been absolutely fantastic. Some of the tastiest meals I've ever eaten have been from here. Special shout outs to the mexicocos part of the menu, though the mango chicken salad is also incredible, not to mention the burgers. They are also very accommodating if you want any dishes changing to vegan from vegy etc.

Super delicious food! Friendly service and portions are large enough. We had hummus (which is already gone in the photo), Vegetarian spring rolls, classic burger and wrap with chicken and mango.

Whenever I’m in preston i visit. Best curried goat, real goat no mutton… very wide choice of awesome foods.

Love Coco's, everything I've tried has been spot on. Good little burger joint with burgers given a slant of of so many styles. My current fav is the Vietnamese burger. Soooos good.

Im on a long drive across the country and needed some food to fuel me up. Jamaican curry goat, served with delicious rice and a soft roti, and some fried plantains on the side hit the spot something fierce. And all that plus a drink for about £21. The curry goat was deep with flavour tender chunks of meat and great sauce, the plantains were great and you get lots in the portion. Good food, good vibes, good price - 100% would recommend

Food Came cold and late, yet mgr had a go at me that it was my fault, he says it was takeaway, we was sat in front of him for 1 hours.... ridiculous...it's gone bad since new owners ...avoid...

Great food available at Cocos. I recommend the burritos which are exceptional and the cocos special sauce with sweet potato fries. The restaurant is located in the town centre and there is pay and display car park close by. And check out the Bob Marley painting on the 1st floor.

Tried for first time all the way from bradford, and cannot say we were disappointed. The food was amazing we tried the loaded nachos and jerk chicken burrito 🌯 the service was great attentive with a friendly family oriented atmosphere. Will definitely return in the future when in the vicinity.

Pretty good food in Preston! My wrap was a little soggy and I sat inside to eat. I would not recommend ordering a wrap for takeout, but it was delicious nonetheless. I also had the parmesan truffle fries and these were really good too, but they had a little bit too much aioli for my personal taste.

Coco's has to be one of the best places to eat in Preston. The food is a delectable mix of Caribbean flavours, Central and South American dishes and South African spices, guaranteed to get your tastebuds doing somersaults in your mouth. With extremely generous portions on offer, be warned not to come here for a just a ‘small bite’ or feeling half full.…you need to be HUNGRY and on an empty stomach!!! The Brazilian ribs are amazingly tender and juicy and the Herb Crusted Chicken with Cheese Sauce with Red Skin Chips and mango salad is a must try. The burritos are some of the fattest I've seen, enough for two. All menu items are halal.

Bean burger was falling apart so couldn’t eat it properly, my husband enjoyed his chicken burger and the chips were good though, the garlic bread wasn’t worth £3 though as it wasn’t like a pizza garlic bread it was 4 small slices of like soft baguette and was soggy. Staff were nice

Grotty little place. First impression was going to the loo which was filled with cigarette smoke, the window stuffed with blue roll, and nowhere to dry your hands. Vile. The food was mediocre and overpriced. "Mum's butter chicken" was like someone put some spices in a jar of white lasagne sauce. It was edible but I'm sure nobody's mum would cook that at home.

Food is 11/10 i’ve had alot of things from Coco’s and everything i’ve had was so nice , the staff are friendly and the food is FRESH 😍😍

Very busy, be prepared! Didn't serve alcohol. Card payments are accepted. The food is not fancy but it is delicious and big portions, no wonder it's busy, well worth a visit!

Will certainly be going more often. I got the spicest wings and jerk thigh. No regrets on the wings, wish my jerk chicken was spicier but still delicious. Before 5.30 they didn't open their upstairs, so it was very packed/cramped downstairs. My partner got the Mexican wrap (might have been burrito) and was disappointed by it. But she had some of mine and enjoyed that.

Lovely, cozy place. The food was of exceptional quality and tasted brilliant. Staff were friendly, the food took very little time to arrive and great little atmosphere.

Excellent mixed grill bursting with flavour. Mac n cheese was true soul food.

Do not even hesitate. Go and enjoy some proper food for the soul. Three of us dined there with a mixed selection of starters and mains. I can honestly say each and every dish tasted supreme. It's a no nonsense eatery that focuses on the food. It does what it says on the tin. Will absolutely be back

Delicious!! I find it hard not to get the jerk chicken every time

I visited today for the second time.. I was very impressed with the food and thought that the flavouring for all items was exceptional and very authentic. The only reason I have left a 4-star review and not 5 is because I (unfortunately) found a hair in the rice with the jerk chicken portion, which meant I couldn’t finish it. I know most people would just slate a place as a result but I have to be honest, the food was perfect aside from this one oversight - I have worked in catering myself and know mistakes can happen and this review is purely to give the owner some genuine and constructive feedback. I hope they can perhaps reflect on this minor lapse - nonetheless, I definitely do intend to revisit.

i have no idea how they do it all from one tiny kitchen but the food is always 10/10 the opening times are confusing as they seem to open and close whenever depending on the day but if you are lucky enough to go then do go!

Been to Cocos a few times and let me tell you the food here is spectacular, I had the chimichangas and they are the tastiest things ever definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Today was my second time coming and I love the place even more than I did the first time! The staff are so lovely and the place is decorated very nicely. As for the food, they have a wide selection of meals to choose from on their menu so there’ll be something new to try each time I come back. I honestly love their food, it’s delicious and in my opinion, its serving size is pretty big for its price. Overall, I’d 100% recommend it to anyone and I will absolutely be coming back in the future! Thank you to the staff for the hard work they put in.

I always really enjoy going to Coco's. The owner is very pleasant, the staff are lovely and the food has always been a straight 10/10 for me. I have always enjoyed each item tried. This time I had the hummus appetiser and one of the special menu items. South African Boerewors Sausage and chakalaka beans and rice. Very special indeed. I hope this appears on the specials again next time I am there. The strawberry and cajun chicken salad is also a big hit. Thank you!

The food here is great, can't fault! Reasonably priced. If you like something different there are a few menu items that you won't find many other places. Maybe not a 'date night' venue (maybe for some), but definitely a great place to meet up with friends!

Yesterday my friend and I visited this eating place. I ordered hummus snd pitta bread. My friend had curried goat which he said was delicious. My hummus was covered in oil and pepper I think. The pitta bread had something smeared on it. It was only by chance a waitress came to see if we were ok. By this time I had scraped of the oil and asked for plain pitta bread. My plate re came back with pitta bread and the oil I had scraped off on my plate. I ate some of the food minus the oil. The hummus was nice but in all other aspects I will not be recommending this place. You get what you pay for I suppose. Cheap

As a vegetarian, there were plenty of options to choose from. The food was delivered to our table within 10 minutes and was warm and delicious. Additionally, the wrap I ordered was full to the brim, which is a nice change given many restaurants leave wraps, enchiladas and so on half empty. The atmosphere was relaxing and staff welcoming. The only criticism I have of Coco’s is that I was disappointed to see that a lot of kitchen staff were not wearing hair nets, especially as one of the cooks had a large beard. If this was resolved, I would give 5* easily.

Best food place ever the nachos are outstanding!!

This place has to be one of the most consistent places I have been to in my life! Every time I go the food is always outstanding and everything on the menu is wonderful. My personal favourite is the Philly steak ,the way the cheese melts in your mouth is so satisfying . The interior is brilliant as-well it mixes with three themes: Caribbean, Mexican and a Bob Marley theme. The best part is that it’s Halal. Highly recommended

One of the best places to eat in Preston, all items on the menu are lovely. They are Halal aswell. I tend to order their burgers when I go.

A literal WOW! Can’t believe how good the food is here, I got the BBQ chicken thighs and the sauce is like nothing I’ve ever tried before So fresh and the value for money is amazing! Can’t stop thinking about it & can’t wait to be back!
