Cocoa Wonderland in Sheffield

We called in to buy chocolates and have a drink - sadly we found the hot chocolate inedible it was thick and gloopy. The chocolates were delicious however.

I booked a chocolate workshop for me and my mum as a Mother’s Day present, we had to rearrange once as my mum was not very well, and Kate was very accommodating with waiting for us to rearrange. It was definitely worth the wait! When we arrived we bought a few of the chocolates from the counter - the pastel de nata ones in particular are out of this world, so delicious. Then we were given cute cocoa wonderland aprons to wear, and off in to the back where there was 2kg of chocolate melted ready for us to play with. First we made truffles, which was so interesting and fun to do, and they turned out so great and very tasty. Then Kate taught us how to prepare and use the chocolate moulds, taught us a bit about chocolate and temperatures etc, making chocolate isn’t as simple as it seems! It was so much fun, I made lots of chocolate lollipops for my friends, some chocolate buttons, 2 big bars of chocolate, it was our time to be creative and we used lots of the little sprinkles and additions in our creations. My mum made chocolate shaped strawberries, some mini chocolate bars and some little cat shapes. We were given a cup of cocoa’s very decadent hot chocolate part way through which was absolutely gorgeous, I’ve had it before and it’s so thick and yummy. Then once we had finished Kate helped us to package our creations, and also scraped out the hardened up chocolate out of the machine for us to take home too. Like little bits of flake but much much nicer. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone, was well worth it. Would also recommend popping in for some chocolates or a cup of the luxurious hot chocolate. Thanks again Kate, you made this experience one to remember.

Coming back from town, walking in a sunny afternoon I decided to have a break. I had a dark chocolate cone (vegan),. OMG! It was fantastic, including the cone. If you like chocolate, you have to try it. In winter, their hot chocolate is the best, dense; creamy…. You always find something. Everything is made by them.

Such a great shop/ experience for a customer and definitely my 'go to' place for chocs! I contacted Kate a few weeks before Mother's day, as I had some specific requests about what chocs to include/ exclude from the box. We have been here before , lovely atmosphere, the lady who served us was very friendly with a bubbly personality, the portion size of the afternoon tea is ideal , little finger sandwiches , chocolate scone with clotted cream and jam , 4 small cakes and fruit with chocolate on , a very delicious hot chocolate drink , absolutely scrumptious You won’t be disappointed

We visited here for a little stop off whilst shopping. Myself, mum and three year old daughter and it was perfect for each of us. So much choice in drinks (their hot chocolates are amazing) desserts and the most wonderful chocolates. The setting is so cosy, such an inviting place and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be a place that we will make a special effort to visit again and again.

The standout experience from my recent visit was the service. From the minute I stepped in, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, throughout to advising on what to order and asking how everything was. They were so warm and friendly, and that genuine warmth goes such a long way. Should probably talk about the hot choc.. The salted caramel hot choc was gorgeous! Rich but so enjoyable, it was gone before I knew it.

A diary free hot chocolate and a choice of vegan truffles. Just perfect for a Sunday afternoon treat with friends. There were sherbet dib dab , chocolate mice, hearts in red foil to mention a few . It was like stepping back in time. So many chocolate choices and many hot drinks to choose from. I will be returning.

I've been meaning to visit this cafe for a while and I am so glad that I got around to it. Its small shop but there is a seating area upstairs which is beautiful with plenty of things to occupy the kids. We ordered and went off to find a seat. We had 'proper hot chocolate', kids hot chocolate and a tea. The proper hot chocolate was absolutely divine, it is proper, as its melted chocolate and cream - OMG I have never had a nicer drink!!! The kids hot chocolate was great too as it comes as a warm cup of milk and a jug of milk chocolate to pour in and the tea was lovely too. After we had finished we purchased some of the handmade chocolates and 1 of the bars. I cant wait to go back and do it all again! Great little cafe and the service was quick and very friendly too.

Me and my partner absolutely loved this delightful afternoon tea , finger sandwiches, chocolate chip scone with jam and cream , plus little treats , the best for me was the cup of hot chocolate , if you are a chocoholic this is the place for you Both staff members very friendly and welcoming Will be visiting again in the near future

We stopped here yesterday for a drink and cake. I had the strawberry milkshake and my partner the banoffee. Both where amazing nice and thick and decorated with sweets. The brownies were pecan and where amazing and gooey! The cafe itself is quaint and cute and is upstairs so great for people watching. The lady behind the till was super friendly and nice. We will definitely be back.

On a very hot June afternoon after a meal at Lost and Found along with our friends Judith and Roger we went looking for an ice cream. And we spotted Cocoa wonderland. Lovely servers and lovely ice cream which we eat outside. My vegan chocolate was delicious, so were the rest.

My Mum and I visited for the chocolate afternoon tea and it was incredible! We were made to feel so welcome on arrival. They asked if it was a special occasion and, as it was my Mum’s birthday, they put some candles on the afternoon tea tray, which was a lovely touch. We had a choice of different teas, all of which were fabulous & tasted like the various ingredients that they said they included (not always the case in my experience!). The sandwiches & savoury selection were fresh and tasty - we loved the Wensleydale & homemade chutney made with local chocolate beer. The scones were still warm and so good. Served with clotted cream, butter and local homemade strawberry and chocolate jam. There were a number of chocolate treats (fruit cake, brownies and chocolate dipped strawberries) all of which were fantastic. We were then bought a cup of proper hot chocolate which was out of this world! Finally, when we paid we were asked to pick two homemade chocolates to take away. A fantastic afternoon of delicious fun. We would thoroughly recommend and will visit again!

Kate was really friendly and laid back and helped us make some cool chocolates that we got to take home. It was a fun experience where we were left to make our own creation, Kate was on hand to help if it all went wrong. Had high expectations for this cafe and was really looking forward to an indulgent slice of chocolate cake and creamy milkshake. The choc fudge cake, although moist, did not taste like chocolate or fudge and was very red in areas as if beetroot had been used excessively, or not evenly distributed. The butter cream didn’t taste like it was fresh or good quality and the white chocolate button on top was tainted with an orange flavour (as if orange chocolate had been stored openly in the same tin as white choc button before being put on the cake). The milkshake, apart from the cream on top, was not at all creamy. It was extremely aerated, so much so that I could barely taste the milkshake. What I did taste was not great. The member of staff serving us was polite and helpful though.

The caramel hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and toppings was 10/10. Made with real chocolate it was silky and filling! The carrot cake was a generous helping and again was 10/10! The afternoon tea looked delightful and I’d love to return to try it...

One of my favourite places is Sheffield. The vintage decoration is beautiful, there's a wide range and drinks and the baked things are always yummy. My only complaint would be that there's not always chocolate cake! But everything else is delicious.

I've been here on a few occasions and it just can't be beat for its drinking chocs, cakes and other choccy treats. The butterfly room upstairs is sooo relaxing and pretty, didn't wanna leave! Staff are lovely and very helpful. Highly recommended by me.
