We moored in Ellesmere on our narrowboat holiday and went in search of something to eat. Not wanting a full-blown restaurant meal we dicovered the Coco Coffee Bar. We made the right choice. The jacket potatoes are simply gorgeous. With a large enough variety of fillings to suit most tastes. Accompanied by a nice, crisp, fresh salad. As it was a really hot day we all had soft drinks so, unfortunately, can't comment on the coffee. However, the lady owner was really friendly and chatted with us for quite a while, which was lovely. (We were the ones enquiring about the drop peppers). If you are in the area, don't walk past this little gem.

I was so disappointed with the outcome of this visit, it was recommended to us by another family member but it did not deliver. When we first arrived we stood for ten minutes waiting for a table to be cleaned not even a hello or we will be with you in a second they just ignored us while we were feeling awkward just stood there. We should have left then! I completely understand they were busy and service took longer then normal, and normally I wouldn’t get irritated however we waited over 45 minutes for food and then when they did bring it out they brought it to the wrong table. When they realised their mistake they gave my mum hers however I had to wait another 15minutes for them to make a new one that’s was nearly an hours wait on food. While I was waiting for the food I needed to use the toilet I asked if they had one available for me to use and she said no the owner won’t allow people to use the toilet, I explained that I was pregnant and was desperate she again said no the owner was too strict to allow me to use it. At this point I was desperate for the toilet and starving hungry when my food arrived I had to eat it so quickly that I didn’t even have chance to enjoy it or even taste it I ate it so quickly. Just to top everything else off as I was leaving the women at the till shouted across the room in front of every other customer “I hope you make it to the toilet in time” thank you very much for telling everyone in the room and embarrassing me more then I’ve ever been. I did not enjoy this meal or the experience and I can understand sometimes places won’t allow you to use the toilet but when you have already made someone wait over an hour and they are pregnant you could have made an exception instead I had to pay 20p for the privilege to use the public toilets. I wanted to give my mum a nice meal for her birthday but it was a disaster from start to finish.

Excellent little venue. Vanilla Latte was much better than what you get in your High Street Coffee shops. Had Avacado and Egg on Sour Dough Toast and it was exceptional. Will stop again if working in the town. Staff were lovely and obliging. Nothing too much for them.

The staff was very nice and accommodating for our large party. There were 6 of us and although we had to sit at separate tables it was very enjoyable. They were a bit busy, but the food was great. The avocado toast was very tasty. As were the Benedicts. I would absolutely go there again.

Four of us went in for lunch. This is a small cafe but very comfortable and with well spaced tables. We had a variety of food, a brunch, a bagel, eggs on toast, and a toasted sandwich. All was excellent quality, generous portions, and piping hot. The teapot for two was enormous! There’s a variety of teas and coffees available, and cold drinks too. The lemon cheesecake and ice cream I had for pudding was the best I’ve ever tasted! So lemony. Obviously homemade not bought in. Altogether everything was faultless. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and welcoming environment. Very highly recommended.

We called in here on Saturday in the middle of a walk. We took the last table and were told that there would be a wait for food, which was not an issue. We had two very good coffees and within a very reasonable waiting time our food arrived which was very good. I also then had a piece of an unusual, but very delicious apricot cake, which I really enjoyed. Very good value and a nice clean place to eat that looks to be very popular with locals.

This little coffee shop is a gem, it is big enough for its location but small enough to retain its warm and friendly atmosphere, it serves a selection of teas, coffees and soft drinks aswell as cakes and savouries all of which are home made and delicious, the range of produce caters for all including vegetarian, vegan and gluten intollerent and a table is set aside in the enterance to enable patrons with dogs to stop and take a break, there is a loo but you have to ask as there is no signage to indicate its exsistance.

We come here every time we visit Ellesmere. This time we visited twice in same day for Brunch & afternoon tea. Cafe small but comfortable, staff always helpful & friendly & food delicious. I'm pretty sure if you asked they would do table service too. I asked for cheese with my Fruit cake/Bara & although not on menu, it was no problem to them. Highly recommend.

Seven of us turned up for brunch having moored our barge for the night in Ellesmere. Fortunately it was quiet (as it's quite a small café) and we sat on 2 tables. We ordered a variety of things, but they all came out close together and were well presented for a Café. The food was lovely and the portions were good and although there was no real 'small talk' that you may expect from a privately run Café/Coffee shop, the waitress was pleasant and efficient. The verdict is that it was good food offered at good value and if in town again we would revisit.

Middle aged lady running the show is not really suited to serving the public without a leash. Young girl waiting on tables was charming, and couldn't have been more pleasant. Late morning, ordered an egg & bacon bap off the menu, to be told "we don't serve eggs after 11.30am, but I could have a sausage and bacon one instead!" Hopefully, should we ever return, the specialist egg fryer will be employed full time & we can once again enjoy the hedonistic delights of an egg in the afternoon.

We popped in for coffee and shared a slice of cake. The tea was fine, but in a blind taste, the cappuccino would not have been identifiable as coffee as it was so weak. Pity, as the service was friendly. The coffee cake was over-sweet without tasting much of coffee and I have a sweet tooth. Disappointing to say that it was the worst coffee and cake in our week long holiday in the area.

We were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The soups of the day were tomato and basil which was delicious, fresh and filling. The stilton and broccoli soup was equally as delicious and homemade. We had sandwiches which were lovely and fresh to go with it and two speciality coffees all for £14. They offer jacket potatoes, panini, baguettes and hot sandwiches and baps of a variety of choices. We noticed on the way out that there are two tables in a seperate area with a big bowl of water, the doggy dining area we were told! Next time I visit in the summer we will bring the pooch with us instead of leaving her in the car, why should dogs miss out on this wonderful cafe food.
