The worst experience ever. Tuesday afternoon very quite Waited for 15 mins to get gravy? And another 7 mins to get a measly portion of apple sauce? All the veg and potatoes were cold? Then waited 12 mins for a desert? Luckily I ordered the bill at the same time as the desert. Absolutely disgusting food and service. Would not recommend to an enemy steer clear.

The food was very dry and not hot the waitress ask if everything was ok we said no the food is only warm, so she said i will put it in the microwave for you I have never known that in a carvery . Then the couple at the next table ask if she would do that with there meal to , I just can’t believe if the food should be hot all the time

Lovely day me and my friend Carla came today and absolutely loved the food, Sophie Louis so nice and friendly, 100% recommend to anyone who loves a roast dinner 🥘. :)

Haven't been here for quite a while so was very impressed with the look of the place ..bright modern and very clean..lots of choices of meat and veg all fresh and cooked well ..between the six of us pretty much everything on offer was sampled with all getting a great review..maybe the cauliflower cheese could of been done a bit more and been more cheesy..apart from that everyone had a lovely meal ..would definitely recommend and will most certainly be back

If I could give it no stars I would!! Just because it was New Year Eve and you are open to public doesn’t mean you can treat customers like rubbish due to us wanting to go and out meet up with family as most of us were keyworkers who was also working over the festive break. On arrival it literally looked like a ghost restaurant as most of the chairs were on top of tables so unwelcoming but brother wanted to go to this one. It was a large group meeting up. Food was dry,hard and burnt. Never have I seen mash potatoes that is so rock hard let alone told being told you got 15 minutes to get food as we are closing in a hour at just before half 6pm and when you go up to get food spraying cleaning stuff around the food area and not replenishing mustard, cranberry sauce and just turning over the very thick skinned gravy. Also being told if you want starters that might be problem as then held is putting away the food in 15 minutes. Also hearing that the people that were due in on new year day was getting the left overs/cooked meats of Newyear eve as over cook for lack of customers might explain the state of food then. Being rushed to eat the state of food being told let me see if we can do desserts. When you could have booked tables until 8pm. Staff turning away more customers that arrived 5/10 minutes after us and we got there before our table booking for half 6. However having to listen to staff telling everyone and each other what they are doing for newyear eve and how they are pleased they are closing early.

Food lovely, service a bit slow and also was caught out by the "Kids eat for £1" con? Normally £6.49 at our one for 2 courses and a drink for the kids carvery withe the deal it is only £1 for the carvery but then still have to pay £2 for a very small ice lolly and about £2 or so for a drink so, yes you still get a discount of about 10-20%,but still feel cheated!!

Took 21 guests here for lunch, the service we received from the day we enquired to the day of our visit was absolutely first class, the restaurant team made our day a perfect one , the food was excellent and all our guests had a great day.

What a disappointment. Sunday and no lamb. They ran out "ages ago". No mushroom starter available. Dessert time saw no meringue for the children's menu. Surely with the Sunday at the beginning of a half term holiday management should have realised how busy they would be (the restaurant was packed) and have ordered enough of these popular items. Seeing that Sundays are charged at a higher rate I think it is a very poor service.

Good friendly service at te carvery, beef and turkey tasted good, vegetables too. Bit quiet but overall a good experience.

Excellent service and superb value for money. We had a big party (16) and despite confusion over pre-orders (all our fault), the staff coped superbly. The manager was fantastic and was so helpful - it must be really hard work, but very single person in our party said to me afterwards how much tehy had enjoyed the evening. I booked a table online for an early dinner before going shopping and on the way home from a hospital appointment. It was a very easy process. Needn’t have worried about booking, though, because there were plenty of tables available when we arrived. We were shown to our table and drinks were ordered quickly. We had the carvery served by an extremely helpful and friendly chef, Alex, who gave us a good size portion of the meats of our choice - even going to get the joint that was my preference from the kitchen and letting me have a taster of the beef. Usually the beef is a bit tough and chewy so I don’t select it, but on this occasion it was tender and flavoursome. A couple of things which brought my score down to four: • my drink was wrong. I’d asked for an apple- based J2O but was served Orange and Passionfruit. When I brought it to the attention of the staff member they corrected the mistake. • the cauliflower cheese was undercooked, with hard tough stalks and with very little cheese. Other than these minor details it was everything we expect from and enjoy about having a Toby Carvery meal.

Came here Sunday roast. 25 minutes que! What a liberty. The food is fantastic but the meat cuter who should have had another meat cuter with him was amazing. What a lovely disposition! Sack the manager who never had any support for him. Donna was lovely as well. These people need support. Come on Toby?!?! Up your game guys! And give Alex a pay rise. The guy deserves a medal 🏅

What a lovely little find just down the way from the Charlie Brown's roundabout. Pop in, you must go to and support this Toby, you will be disappointed. The service behind the bar, service at the table, choosing your food. It was a nice place to pop into where everyone used good old fashioned manners and British hospitality. Keep up the good work!!

If your a family of 6 or more my advice is book somewhere else as they don’t take bookings of 6 or more on Sundays … there is 10 of us and we have been taking our mother in law (92) here for the past 15 years for her birthday - no problem . I have been calling the carvery all week to book and left my number - no returned call… finally got through this afternoon to be told ‘ we don’t take large bookings ‘ !!!! I then asked if we could have a table for 6 and a table for 4 !!! Can’t do that either, as can’t put tables next to each other . What a complete waste of time . Shocked, this place is dire, tried to order a cheese and chitney yorkie wrap… sorry we dont have any, we inly have white bread ??? If i wanted a cheese sandwich i would have got one in tesco for £2, not pay nearly £6, so i passed on that, husband had gammon and mustard in dry white, stale bread and roast potatoes that were clearly left overs that had been microwaved, turning them into rubber balls. And a pot of brown gloop they called gravy, grandaughter had a dish of microwaved mac and cheese and a pot of baked bean mush. Disgusting is the only word to describe it. A pint of guiness was served in a glass that had been used for some sort of blackcurrant drink, it smelt and tasted of it. And to cap it off, there are no ladies toilets

There wouldn’t give us any roast as they said was reserved for booking customers only. And the rest of the food was too dry.

We live in Romford which has a Toby but now always travel to this carvery as it is always well stocked with different vegetables and the staff are always very welcoming.
