Good place for drinks, prices are good too, dogs are welcomed inside and out. Plenty of seating outside, unfortunately outside is littered, weedy and unswept. So your doggy friend is lying in all sorts of rubbish. If they sorted that out it would be much much nicer, and would give more immediate appeal.

This is a great spot for a couple of drinks. They have speciality beers and an array of gins to choose from. There is seating inside and outside. Friendly staff and clientele make this a popular watering hole, recommended.

The perfect little pub. Went this weekend several times. Served by the nicest lady ever, sorry I forgot here name but she used to teach French. So dog friendly, and every person that was in there, on each occasion, was so nice and friendly. Had a few beers and played cards. Would recommend to anyone visiting Amble.

Given that their unique selling point, which is promoted here, is cheese and ale: no longer selling cheese is a bit of an issue. We called in based on the reviews on here and were sorely disappointed. Whilst the beer was OK, garnish free gin wasn’t.

Called in for 1 but ended up staying until throwing out time. An good selection of beers, everyone in there were friendly and having a good laugh. Music playlist was quality. Bar lady (Sara) was absolutely brilliant. She was a really good laugh and let us add our songs to the play list which added to a great night.

Really nice and clean pub, filled with character. Very friendly locals and the pub was dog friendly. Decent prices and excellent ale. The staff working in the pub were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgable about the beer and local area. Playing cards on the tables were a really nice touch. It is a small pub but easy to just sit and pass the time away. Great location, a must visit if you are in the area!

What a brilliant pub. Very friendly staff and locals. Asked what kind of beer I liked and was told to try the Anarchy Brewery Video Nasty IPA. What comes out of the tap looks like slops but what a fantastic beer. So easy to drink and flavoursome. The Blonde Star was a clear beer and equally as nice. Can see me returning here every night.

I was recommended this quirky little place by the owner and head chef at Jasper's Bistro over the road after a wonderful meal. It was the perfect end to an incredible evening of fine dining and great drinks. It is definitely worth a visit and I will be back for sure...

Sought out the Cock & Bull (as we were in Amble) based on the Good Beer Guide recommendation. Had a lovely pint of Tomit Heed from Firebrick. Comfortable little pub with a large amount of seating. Disappointingly card-only payment, but I guess that's a sign of the times.

Usually when my husband suggests a pub stop I roll my eyes at him. Seeing the entrance to this establishment I probably rolled my eyes more than usual!! It's attached to the towns public conveniences, but don't let that put you off! Great friendly micro pub. Large gin menu and the cheese platters are very tasty and great value. Fab memorable find

The postal address had a Morpeth post town, even though it is close to Amble. Finding it with the aid of a satnav was essential. A lovely sunny day and the field out front was very busy. All sorts were there, a food concession was selling pizza. The beer was varied, but great. Just a pity i was driving, no carry out bright beer is available. Only in cans. Such a shame, would have loved to taken away some of their heavier beer approx 6% ABV Staff were friendly and the interior accommodation was good.

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!
