Stumbled across this cafe whilst taking shelter from the rain in Chipping. The hot chocolate drinks were lovely! My daughters enjoyed banana milkshakes and home-made chips. Prices very reasonable. They have a lovely selection of food and cakes! The staff are very friendly and service is quick. Will visit again to try out more of the menu!

The best sausage barm cake I’ve ever enjoyed (and I’ve sampled many!). And the friendly helpful service was lovely. I’d arrived in Chipping ahead of a rendezvous with just enough time for a take away and a toilet visit. The calm, swift and friendly service, the tastiest sausage barm and the spotless toilet facilities were just splendid. Thank you!

After we had finished our walk in and around Chipping my wife and I 👑 had lunch in the small but friendly Cobbled Corner cafe in Chipping. The cafe is spotlessly cleaning and the food fresh, wholesome and very tasty. We both had the small soup and sandwich option. Perfection. We will definitely be back.👍👍💯%

We have been to the Cobbled Corner Café several times, and while it can be ok, on occasions it can be poor. After a recent visit where we were given awful greasy re-fried chips to accompany our very mediocre main courses, I e-mailed them via their web site but haven't had the courtesy of a reply. I don't very often give critical reviews, but on this occasion a rating of 2 is well deserved - and may even be a bit on the generous side.

I have been to 100's of cafes up and down the country, and I think this is a little gem. I took the family for mother's day afternoon tea. Everything about it was just right. Food, service and very friendly. They make 'proper' sandwiches, not the sad processed ones you get in a lot of places. The ham was real thick cut ham, egg mayo was clearly made on premises. And homemade, delicious cakes.I paid a bargain £10.50 each for afternoon tea. And there was plenty of food, all served nicely. This included scones, cakes, sandwiches, quiche, dessert and a complementary ice cream for my little boy, and of course tea or coffee. Just great service. Re another review. The toilets were perfectly fine, clean and tidy.

We visited this Cafe for Afternoon Tea on a Groupon Deal. We had booked, but on arrival the cafe was empty so the waitress invited us to pick any table. Without any further conversation a pot of tea, water etc was delivered to us. Our Deal included a glass of Raspberry Bellini; which we had to ask for because we wanted it before the food. These Belini's arrived, but it took over another 30 minutes to bring the sandwiches and cakes, which was amazing as only one other couple had arrived. Goodness knows what would happen if they were busy! In that space of time the tea needed refreshing which they were happy to do. Thankfully the three tier cake stand with a choice of sandwiches, two warm scones and a selection of cakes were the star of the show and we really enjoyed them. It would have been nice if a member of staff could have popped back to see if everything was ok, but they didn't.However, it's not just about the food, it's about the whole experience. I notice other contributors have commented about the owners losing their way! Well we have no previous experience of this Cafe, but our overall impression was that it was tired, definitely untidy, with a cardboard box on top of one of the tables and staff coats draped over chairs. There is an open aspect into the kitchen and that view was not good and an uncovered cake sitting amongst pots, pans etc. My visit to the gents was an eye opener. The stairs leading to the toilets are dirty and untidy. The gents had no toilet paper in the dispenser, just a part roll on the cistern, a small hand soap dispenser that was almost empty and didn't work, a hand sanitiser that was empty or didn't work and a paper towel dispenser which was also empt, with paper towels balanced on the top! Walk back down the stairs and look up at the ceiling...you will see what I mean about dirty. There are so many cobwebs! The place just wants a good clean and sorting out. For your afternoon tea I would have given you a top rating, but with slow service and the obvious lack of care to your premises, it was a disappointment. Nobody was on hand to say goodbye when we left, thank you for your custom, or call again. Not good form!

As a cycling group we have visited the Cobbled corner on a number of occasions. Unfortunately each visit the standard of both food and service has deteriorated. This visit we had members of our group waiting 1hr 30 mins for something from their specials board for cyclists ( poached egg, beans on toast) which was then given to one of our party having been in the servers own words 'dropped!' I know it's not easy when groups turn up in numbers at small cafes, but we are a great source of income and the cafe should be more prepared as they are a popular venue, unfortunately well be looking elsewhere next time we go through Chipping.

Called in for a bite to eat and drink mid-morning. When we arrived the cafe was empty but within 30 minutes 8 customers had arrived. The menu is what you'd expect from a small cafe, everything is homemade. My only gripe would be the service was slow and I noticed one couple left after complaining that other customers who arrived after them were being served first. Very popular with cyclists and free wifi.

The phone rang out so I thought I would try again later. However, a woman called me straight back. The conversation went something like 'did you just call me' in the rudest manner. I then had to ask whether this was the Cobbled Corner and when she said yes I asked if I could book. She then went on to tell me she was too busy to take my booking and to call back later. My mum treated me to afternoon tea here for my birthday... I looked at the pictures on groupon and was excited to try it, especially the Bellini that I had never seen before with afternoon tea! What we got was nothing like the pictures! We didn't feel that there was a very big variety of cakes on the afternoon tea itself, although the sandwiches were nice. We were also given a chipped cup for the tea! &the Bellini had strange white stuff floating in it?? Finally, I needed to change my young baby and was taken upstairs as it was too cold outside to use the changing table (which I appreciate) but I was then told to change by baby on the grubby carpet outside the toilet! Not sure!! Although the other food being served while we were there looked fab, we may return to try that, but probably wouldn't have the afternoon tea here again!

A mixed bag of experience !! Cafe very ordinary - and actually rather chilly for the end of October as there was no heating.Staff did clear a table by the window and wipe it clean for us - which was good of them.Afternoon Tea was served in a relatively short space of time - we had a voucher for 4 persons. Can be described as rather "rustic" - to be fair, cups/saucers and plates were china rather than pottery - but paper napkins were cheap and useless and cutlery of very cheap quality. Service was a little "quaint" - the lady owner was friendly, but frankly, needed to be a little better dressed and better presented for the purpose of serving.Afternoon Tea served on tiered plates was fine - okay sandwiches and a very good selection of small cakes. No problem in having our left-over cakes packed to bring home. Bellini in plastic glasses ?? .........................hmmm.Overall, an interesting experience !!

Even though it was very busy with cyclists we still managed to be served and fed in a reasonable amount of time by a pleasant, friendly and helpful young waitress.Food was lovely and a good portion size. My Husband had the soup (Bungo Broth?) which he said was delicious and I had the tuna and cheese toastie, which was served on a lovely wholemeal bread. Mine also came with a fresh side salad, few crisps and a small dish of coleslaw....perfect size for me. With a pot of tea and a cup of coffee it came to £14 which was very reasonable we thought. Can look forward to tasting their food again this evening as they are the caterers for tonight's mass family meals at the nearby Wolfen Mill...so looking forward to my evening meal now I've sampled their fayre already. :)

We had a voucher for afternoon tea.The owner and her hard working ladies(you can watch whilst they make pies and scones)are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.Lovely china and three tiered cake stand to accommodate the finger sandwiches.tasty scones with jam and cream and delightful variety of fresh cakes. The cafe also has a good menu to choose home made pies, sandwiches, toasties etc.Cakes galore, ice cream.Highly recommended

Had afternoon tea here. What a treat! The food and service were fantastic. The best afternoon tea I have had. Will be visiting again. Just one wee disappointment is that, as my friend had decaf tea and I had normal tea, we didn't get china teapots but wee funky ones which don't go with afteroon tea. Sorry to sound petty

Had a lovely afternoon tea at this cafe and can't fault the level of service. Chipping is lovely little village in the Forrest of Bowland and this cafe is a little gem in a fabulous area. Will definitely return again in the next couple of weeks.

We have had better afternoon tea and considered this to be average. We used a groupon voucher to visit. The sandwiches were small in comparison to other places, however the cakes were good with a excellent variety and range. After reading other reviews about cleanliness we were concerned. The toilets were dirty, the stairs to the toilets stank, tables were not cleared away, however our table was clean. The waiter was attentive at the start then left us to it. My partner commented that they are working hard to get people to go through groupon vouchers although they are not promoting return business and only do well because of the location. It is the best cafe in Chipping we have tried but we will not rush back. We were given a box to take unfinished cakes home with us which was a nice touch.

Been to a few places for afternoon tea and this was far the best one i've had, the food was lovely and all homemade, we were a party of four ladies who like a good chat we wasn't rushed and was given a extra pot of tea at no extra cost, nice clean café, friendly staff. will certainly be going back. .

Called here on Thursday, 4th August on the recommendation of a colleague in Spain and commented to the owner about how nice the place looked. She told me that she has had the place cleaned by a professional company 3 times in the last 4 weeks on top of the regular cleaning by her staff. We all have different views, of course, but, when I came to put a rave review here, I was surprised to see some comments about the cleanliness. My experience was completely the opposite. Maybe the other reviewers called in at a really hectic time. I don't know but the place, table, everything was spotless when I was there and the food and the service were excellent. Kathy the owner was really friendly and I felt very welcome. I recommend the Cobbled Corner with no reservations.

Came for afternoon tea. Nothing looked clean. Hard just give good feedback on anything when the basics of clean hands and surfaces are missed. Sorry to say but unless this improves I won't be coming again.

Went with my mum for afternoon tea on 3 August 2016. Excellent value for money at £14 for two on groupon. Brilliant service, generous portion and selection of food. That much we took the cakes home with us. Would highly recommend a visit and a hidden gem.

Lovely place with stunning views and hosted by Jonathan and Fran who are the most welcoming people. Bed and breakfast for one night only but we felt like we were visiting close family. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Traditional pub food. An excellent lunchtime dining experience with a wide choice of beers. All staff are friendly and polite. Shout out to Nicky and Andy, thanks. Couldn't do enough for you. Down-to-earth pub. Cheers! Just as good again today.

An excellent full English breakfast prepared with quality ingredients and prepared to perfection. A very friendly and professional staff team. The farm shop is a delight with an excellent range of products. The butchery and bakery departments are outstanding.

We sometimes visit Clitheroe midweek during the day. A pub crawl is the usual way to go, but this time, after the first pint we decided to have another. We stayed for six and on heading to the bus stop, we had only been to one pub. Why did we stay all afternoon? It was the friendliness of not just the staff, but the other customers all offering interesting content to a rolling discussion ranging from the beers to where each of us lived / grew up etc .... The barmaid (it was her first day) pulled a great pint too. In my experience of both pubs and people, this is rare. I nearly forgot to mention the prices. Cheaper than most places and two of the beers offered at just £3 a pint.
