We went as a family to the coach house, we are regular visitors and are never disappointed. Today I tried a fairly new special, beef lasagna with salad. It was absolutely delicious, a really good serving well presented, plenty of meat and lots of cheese on top. I will certainly hav8e it again. My husbands fish and chips was as usual really enjoyed and my son's cheeseburger really tasty with hot well cooked chips. I had no room for dessert which was a shame as their selection of cakes is superb. Staff as usual friendly and attentive. One of our favourite places to go.

Had a lovely lunch today. The cafe was very busy and the family of staff were under pressure but we didn't have to wait long. They were friendly and they food was good. Its a beautiful place to sit and eat in the sun.

During lockdown my friend and I have visited the cafe to get coffees etc whilst walking. Today we visited and had reserved a table. Upon arriving there was a group sitting at our reserved table who got up and went. The waitress saw them leave and didn’t wipe the table and chairs over and just handed us menus. I wiped down the table and chairs with my own anti bac wipes to find that the table and chairs were In fact dirty, so at no point had they been wiped down, probably in a while! It doesn’t bode well when you are helping a small business, and are then put off eating there again due to its hygiene Covid safe standards On the plus side the food is always lovely

Been under new management for past year and turned into an unfriendly place. Bar staff spend more time outside the bar chit —chatting with themselves. When they eventually serve you its with an attitude. On the rare two occasions I have been in there, the landlady has had issues with customers or turfed out old gentleman types who were minding there own business but whose faces didn’t fit with the clientele their desperately going after. Avoid this place.

I visit Pret a lot. Mainly because of their Club Pret coffee savings & WIFI. For me it can offer great value for coffee, by comparison with other coffee shops - when you drink the amount of coffee I do. I bought an almond croissant today. Actually I didn't buy it, it was gifted to me as a 'free reward'. I like to eat as clean as possibly, so I looked up the ingredients. I found some pages on the Pret website, all copyrighted 2025. On one page the ingredients were not listed, but the nutrition detail showed it contains trans fats. On another page trans fats were missing from the nutrition detail and the ingredients contained only butter. So which is it I wonder - are industrial fats still being used in pretty Pret products? They're banned in some US states like NY and many progressive European countries. Update: found the answer myself: Trans fats occur in meat and dairy products from ruminants. For example, butter contains about 3% trans fat by weight.[11] These naturally occurring trans fats include conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and vaccenic acid. They arise from the action of bacteria in the rumen. Polyunsaturated fats are toxic to the rumen-based bacteria, which detoxify the fats by changing some cis-double bonds to trans-double bonds. In contrast to industrially produced trans fats, this bacterial process produces only a few specific isomers. As industrial sources of trans fats are eliminated, increased attention focuses on ruminant derived trans fats. (Wikipedia)
