Popped in for a quick pint saw they were making home made pizzas . Had a pizza and a pint combo along with a game of pool while I waited . Absolutely delicious. Was well worth been late home . So took one home for the wife too. . Happy days

The food was basic and nothing special. The desserts were awful completely tasteless! We waited all week to go to this pub as it only opens from Fri-Sun. If this is the standard of the food then maybe that is why! Seriously go and eat at Ham and Cheese and see the quality of their food and service to get some tips. We wish we had chosen a different place to eat for our last day on holiday!

Every time I've eaten here, I have been delighted by the range of foods offered to me as a vegetarian coeliac. Mostly not on the menu, but the staff are so obliging and keen to cater for everyone. Delicious every time.

We are very local to this pub but have never visited because of the complete lack of vegetarian options on the menu. However, having recently spotted a new veggie and vegan menu online we decided to give it a try! Unfortunately, this new menu was not in evidence when we arrived - there wasn’t a single main meal option on the Sunday menu. It was chicken, pork or beef and that was all. A line at the bottom said to ask staff for veg options, which I did. This caused quite a lot of consternation and going to the kitchen to see what the chef could make for me. It felt like I was back in the 1990s! (And I had mentioned we needed veg options in advance when I booked, so this wasn’t a surprise.) Whereas the new online menu offered a garlic and mushroom escalope or a red pepper stuffed with quorn, I was offered an aubergine or pepper with veg, or ‘just the sides’ from the Sunday lunch. I went with the aubergine and, to be fair, it was pretty nice, if a bit random with bits of non-melted cheese on top. My friends had the standard Sunday roast with chicken and all seemed well. Desserts were basic but fine. Service was attentive and we had no complaints there. It’s just strange in 2023 not to have even a basic veg option on the main menu! It means we won’t come back.

There were eight people in our party and we were all served together. The food was delicious and served on time. We all agreed we would eat there again.

Asked if they could cater for 16 of us said yes. One family had their dinner 25 mins before the rest came out. Gravy is like water, potatoes is smash and side dishes come out ten mins before and are cold by the time the rest of your main comes. Would never come here again

Waited ages for a very small steak pie with a tough crust . The three veg were a desert spoon each of green beans peas and chopped carrots. The new potatoes hadn't been cleaned properly . The gravy was disgusting chicken gravy , who on earth would serve chicken gravy with a steak pie ? . Left this place hungry won't be back.

Came in for Sunday dinner, food was lovely and reasonably priced, drinks were nice, decor is lovely. Staff friendly. We will definitely be back.

Amazing!!! We arrived on holiday on Good Friday and went their on the off chance we could get a table. It was 4pm and there were 8 of us. 4 adults, 4 kids. By 5pm we were seated. The food was amazing. All freshly prepared. The Manager who is also currently the chef was fantastic as were the staff. We couldn't fault the food and the kids even provided a round of applause. We enjoyed it so much we returned on our last night (thursday) and had an equally good meal. It was very relaxed and we felt very welcome even with 4 kids (ages 9 down to 4). We would definitely return and thoroughly recommend.

Great Sunday Lunch. Had starter of soup which was tasty. The Sunday Lunch of Beef was perfect with all the accompaniments. Yorkshire pudding was excellent and main was £12.50 bargain.

Booked here for a Sunday lunch with friends. To start only 4 things to choose from on the menu,then informed no steak pie. To then have the meals brought out & one of the meals cold. A meal of sausages & a ‘large Yorkshire pudding’ the Yorkshire was the same size as everybody elses. A small selection of veg which was not expected for a Sunday roast. On bringing out the heated up beef dinner the chef was extremely rude with an excuse of us apparently arriving 45 minutes late..the first of us to arrive was 10 minutes late & had let the pub know in advance. The following of the group arrived 10 minutes after. Will never return again. Poor service & poor food.

Stopped by this evening on the way home from shopping in York and we were delighted that they were able to accommodate us.Warm welcome, spotlessly clean, lots of hand sanitizer and social distancing measures in place.Glad to see a half portion of ale battered fish and chips which I sampled and they were fab! Weve eaten here many times over the years , always top quality food ,never fails ,, we went last night for the Theme Night , Shepherds Pie with various sides, it was all outstanding, with a nice touch of a portion of Honey Bread included, ,,ordered a dessert to share, Warm Chocolate Pudding ,Salted Caramel Ice Cream ,with a Peanut Brittle,,, has to be one of the best desserts we've ever had , and we've had many!! all in all a great night ,with first class service as always .... it was also busy with a good atmosphere which on a midweek is great to see ... especially in these crazy times we are experiencing with Covid , its a must visit pub ,to give you something to look forward in all this madness ,,, fair play to all the staff , FAULTLESS

I called recently with the family for a meal at the Coach and Horses. We felt very COVID-safe with the staff promoting social distancing, masks worn by all staff and hand gels available for customers. We were also very impressed with the food-I had the fish and Chips which was probably the best I’ve ever had!!! I complemented this with a couple of very nice beers-a very enjoyable experience for all of us!

Great Sunday dinner, no issues with social distancing. Too full for sweet so will visit again later in the week 👍😁

We called today for Sunday lunch. We had the homemade treacle bread with salted butter as an appetiser to share, absolutely delicious. This was followed by one lamb, one beef and one pork roast with beautifully cooked vegetables and superb gravy. Just one of us managed a desert of hot chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice cream and peanut brittle, again “to die for”. A warm welcome from Chris and staff and we felt COVID safe, will definitely be back.

We went last Sunday for Sunday dinner after the beach and had a very safe and lovely meal as always. They were able to accommodate our request for two tables near but socially distanced for two house holds to continue our safe day out. Staff as always very helpful and professional. See you again on our way back from the beach again sometime soon.

We called on the off chance on our way to York,we were so pleased we did!Lovely welcome by everybody, particularly Eldon,who showed us to our table and brought us the menu and took our order for drinks.Being a sunday there were roast dinners on offer,Beef/loin of pork(with chipolata and stuffing)roast leg of lamb,or vegetarian roast.Even a vegetable curry.Hot roast sandwiches in brioche buns with fries.Husband opted for roast pork it came with 7 fresh veg plus the yorkshire.I had the hot beef in brioche bun with fries served seperatly in a bowl.they were plentiful,hot and very crisp(best ive ever had)Altogether a fantastic meal beautifully cooked and we will definately go again -and would reccomend to every one.As an aside the distancing/sanitizing/masks etc were spot on.

Absolutely fantastic! Myself and my friend stopped off for Sunday lunch today and it was absolutely beautiful. I ordered the lamb and my friend ordered the hot beef sandwich , both were cooked to perfection, the lamb was so beautifully cooked it just melted in my mouth and my friend said said the beef was one of the best sandwich she has had in a long time. We will definitely be back for another Sunday roast! And also the vegetable were cooked to perfection! How they cook them I would love to know so I can cook them for my husband. A special mention to the general manager eldon who was so lovely and attentive. The girls who were working were also very attentive but eldon went out of his way to me make sure everything was perfect for us both so thank you very much.

We called here for lunch with our dog , sat outside in beer garden , young waitress came to take our orders promptly , we both had fish and chips , the batter was so light and delicious , the chips mush ya and tartare sauce gorgeous too ! We happened upon this pub by accident when holidaying in Malton. The place is outstanding, the food is incredible, such great value for money. Myself and wife have been house hunting in the area and called in for a drink and a bite to eat the pub is warm and friendly and we were greeted by staff drinks sorted and menus left for us to peruse meals ordered scampi and a chicken burger both were well cooked and very tasty nice pint of Black sheep to wash it all down we will definitely return

Eaten here a lot since it was superbly bought and re invented, and the food is always top notch , but tonight it has surpassed itself .New,year ,new menu , so we called in to sample the new menu Early Bird option , we both had 3 courses ,and agreed it was probably the best 3 courses weve had in many a year , Chicken Wings (to die for ) ,Winter Veg soup , my wife had a generous portion of lovely Scampi , I had the homemade Steak /Guiness pie , big chunks of quality steak (awesome) , feeling full we had to squeeze a dessert in , both had the Snickers cheesecake /chocolate ice cream (to die for also) ... the pubs fantastic , and the food goes from strength to strength ,SUPERB ,,, well done to everyone involved at the pub ..

What a great place. I can highly recommend it. Chris has built a great team around him who will always give you a warm welcome. Ken in the kitchen is a culinary wizard, the food is amazing. Even if your not hungry, pop along for a drink, there’s always a great atmosphere. Try one of the cocktails, you won’t be disappointed.

My family and I visited just before Christmas. Unfortunately I was the designated driver, but there looked to be a good range of drinks on offer. The food was really well cooked, in particular the pork main and the chocolate mousse dessert (although the latter could've been a bit smaller). The cheese board my brother had also looked fantastic and was a good portion size. Staff were friendly but could be a bit slow at times. Nevertheless, it's nice to have somewhere close by selling good food!

Called here a few times now on our way to Scarborough to visit family each time it has been amazing. We absolutely love what they have done with the refurbishment it was certainly well over due... the food is just stunning the taste and how it’s presented is spot on. The staff are great being very attentive but not over powering and pushy.. we love the fact that Eldon the manager will come over and talk to you before or after your meal if he’s not busy and also nice to see him having banter and a laugh with the locals and making everyone feel so welcome.. its also really nice to see the chef comes out to see customers also when not busy. The selection of drinks is huge and always a good choice of handpull beers on if your into that but if not your really not going to struggle to find something to drink nor eat as the menu certainly has something for everyone!!! Keep up the good work guys really lovely to see such a lovely place been opened round here! Good luck and hope it continues to succeed for you. Great job.

Called for lunch on our way to Filey. Recommended to us by our neighbours we were intrigued as we had called here many years ago, really pleased we did.Very tasteful décor provided just the right background for very tasty food. Service was great, very friendly and attentive without being 'hovering'.A lovely lunch which just got us in the right mood for our seaside break.

This is our local pub and I feel very lucky to have it in the village! The food is really flavoursome. They do standard pub food and also unusual gourmet food. I love coming here for food or a drink and would recommend it .

Me and my wife visited here last night. The first thing you are greeted by is a high energy, enticing bar with fantastic cocktails and great ales. The furniture and decor is beautiful which makes the place feel really special. The food was outstanding, but the service is what sets this place apart. A special mention has to go to Eldon who makes everyone feel like a VIP, he creates an atmosphere that makes everyone smile and feel comfortable.

Stopped in on our way back from the coast - ordered the roast pork and were not disappointed - it came with lots of seasonal veg and was piping hot. my friend had the salmon which she said was delicious. clean plates all round - one of the best sunday lunches I've had (apart from at home). Pleasant decor and lovely staff who were very friendly but professional too. would highly recommend and will definitely stop here again

Stopped in on our way to the coast. Lovely furnishings, stylish and quirky. Limited sunday menu - roasts - and they got them just right. Great portions to satisfy the hungriest of visitors. Very impressed with the seasonal veg and hand cut meat. Relaxed atmosphere, we all enjoyed our visit.

Called in to the Coach and Horses several months previously. We were very impressed with the refurbishment. Everywhere was very modern and extremely tastefully done and very clean. So when we were passing on our way to Scarborough we decided to call in the a sandwich. We were very disappointed I am sorry to say. The hot braised beef sandwich was hardly warm and the accompanying fries were not appetising. I had a prawn sandwich on bloomer bread. The prawns were nice but the bread was not overly fresh. The bill was steep for what we had and the drinks were extremely expensive. Hope it was just an "off" day and wish the owners good luck with this venture.

A lovely modern clean pub and restaurant. Lovely touches with pictures of horses dotted around. A lovely menu but a bit pricey for lunch time. The food was lovely we had the rillington burger with fries. The toilets were fabulous and spotless. Large car park. Definitely would return.

Coach and Horses Rillington is not just a local it has a contemporary feel and the new market place and Al A Carte menus are extremely good value and the food is prepared by the kitchen team to an excellent standard. The addition of live music and bespoke events along with the cocktail/wine lists make this a standout venue. Well worth a visit !!

We were on holiday in a cottage just 400 meters up the road so were able to walk. We enjoyed our first meal so much that we paid two further visits! The food was really good, large portions (not sure what another post meant about small portions) staff very friendly and helpful. Apparently the pub was taken over by new owners in the last 12 months and has been re-vamped completely. The decor is lovely, and this is one of the nicest pubs we have eaten at while on holiday. Went with a friend for the Early Bird Dinner it was lovely, Good choice of wines and the menu had a choice of 4 x starters, main and sweets. Good value and the food was great, best syrup sponge pudding we had for a long time, Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Myself and my partner went for a meal here and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken supreme and my partner had the steak. We loved it so much that we booked to go again the following week. The service was great and all the staff were very helpful and very welcoming.

We passed this place on our way to our holiday rental and thought it looked nice. Really cool interiors and nice food.

Went tonight to celebrate a birthday armed with a £60 voucher and boy did we need the voucher. Hubby had whitebait to start which was tasty and I had goats cheese and tomato salad - tomatoes were good with a choice of varieties but included bitter green ones and only one 1cm sq bit of goats cheese. We had a side order of bread and butter with our starters - disappointed that this cost £2.50 for half a slice each of thinly cut bread - shame on you.

We booked at the Coach & Horses in Rillington, for an evening meal. We had not been there for years, and were pleasantly surprised by how well it has been modernised.

Stopped here for lunch. Newly refurbished country pub/restaurant now with an excellent modern interior. Great food, great choice of drinks, welcoming owners, dog friendly, parking. We will definately call in at this pub again.

Visited the coach and horses again today and fantastic to see some new editions! The smaller portion menu went down brilliantly with my children (2 and 4) - quality of food is certainly not comprised for kids! The range of gin on offer is also lovely - Chris is very knowledgeable about the gins and can make up a drink to suit your taste. If you get chance - try the chocolate torte! We will be back!

For those who are brave enough to travel on the a64 to or from Scarborough this pub is a welcoming oasis of calm.

We have driven past the revamped Coach and Horses a lot in recent weeks and have wanted to give it a try. Wow the interior is lovely what a great job. Sunday menu sounded delicious and didn't disappoint. Love when the veg selection isn't just broccoli and carrots. We got cauliflour cheese, red cabbage, greens and roasted roots. Roasts, mash and a homemade YORKIE. Presentation was perfect. No kids menu but my 5yo had a half portion and was happy. Lemon posset was delicious for pudding. All felt very indulgent and a lovely treat. Staff all smart, polite and great with our little boy. We will definitely be back. Book to avoid disappointment

As soon as you walk through the door, you know you’re in good hands at the Coach and Horses. Welcoming staff, good beer, great atmosphere. The Sunday roasts we had were excellent. Meat quality was spot on and the portion size was fit for a king! And an extra surprise was the cauliflower cheese that was served on the side – brilliant. Highly recommended!

Eaten here a few times and never been disappointed .Just called in to try the New Early Bird Menu ,5pm till 7pm ,, 2 course or 3 courses ... I opted for the 2 course option at about 14 quid , had the bubble and squeak croquettes to start , gorgeous , followed by a Pork and Chorizo burger , with coleslaw , chips , also excellent ... cannot fault the food quality , and good portions also . which is sometimes not the case on a special deal menu ,,,, it's a must try for anyone who hasn't visited the pub since its stunning refurb last year !! we called here for sunday lunch last sunday and what a nice roast sunday lunch it was i had the roast beef two decent slices roast parsnips that melt in the mouth another place to revisit at a later time
