A great pub just off the main road. Good parking and nicely decorated. Very comfortable with a good selection of beers. The food was excellent. Simple choices but produced to an excellent standard. I have the liver and onions with smoked bacon. This was cooked to perfection. The mash was creamy and the cabbage lightly cooked and fresh. Very reasonably priced with good service. Perfect for an evening meal on the way home from work instead of cooking.

I popped in whilst waiting to collect someone from the hospital. Really fancied a warm drink. Unfortunately, no milk alternatives were available. The lady behind the bar was lovely. Nice cosy pub. Didn't try food this time. Lemonade and a packet of crisps, classic.

I had the classic Burger and Halloumi Fries for my starter both of which were exceptional. The service was good from the waitress that served us and we tipped her but never got her name to say thanks. atmosphere was nice but not many people in at that time.

Food not bad but nothing special (Last Friday evening) What really annoys is how a tip (they call it a service charge) is added on and it’s not until you see it on the card receipt that you know about it. Then you see ‘tip optional’ when they’ve already taken it!!! At no point was I told beforehand they would charge anything but the actual cost of a meal & drinks. Anything said to the contrary is untrue. Very sneaky practice.

The Sunday roast was fantastic and the staff was very pleasant. We travelled down from West Yorkshire in the morning and just stopped there for lunch we will definitely go back but you got to book before you go though

Well what can I say from start to finish excellent service . 100% didn't mind the service charge absalutly deserved we tipped as well on top. Watching the owner walk around with the salmon and someone waiting for Gammon ( after working in hospitality this is a nightmare, totally our fault miss hearing from one of us) however the salmon went down a treat . One of our friends picks at food Wow she ended up having three courses and ate them all. The staff were very polite and made our experience of being there fantastic. Wel done to the team . I can safley say you will be seeing us again. Just maybe in smaller groups at a time 😁 untill the next celebration and we meet as 20 again.

Looks like I'm not the only customer who has been asked to leave when the staff want to go home, bit of a theme going on with this establishment. Staff reminded us that they close at 10.30 by singing "I'm leaving on a jet plane" Across the restaurant, very rude having spent over £130 and they had the audacity to put a service charge on top of the bill. Will not be going back EVER. Just picked up the owners reply, I'm certainly not going to get into a slanging match and I understand the owners wanting to defend the staff. We were there on a Tuesday and it certainly did happen. I have worked in hospitality and understand the staff work extremely hard. I have no doubt the team work hard however you may want to discuss with them what goes on when your not there. And don't tell me to be shamed of posting comments and feedback when you obviously are not interested in making your business better and only want positive comments

Disappointed on this visit. Ordered garlic mushrooms with ciabatta and salad for starters, as I finished the dish I noticed a slug crawling out of the salad I had not eaten... reported it to waitress who took it back to the kitchen, she then spoke to the owner who said not to charge for the dish... would have been nice if they had come over to speak to us. Ordered Hunters chicken for main and the chicken was very dry with very little BBQ sauce! Husband ordered the House burger, burgers were overcooked and the chicken coating was soggy. Grandson enjoyed his meal. In reply to your comments... I made no such comment and was not offered a replacement, you were stood behind the bar and as I got up up to bring my plate over to you Lisa appeared... the pub was not busy and maybe you need to engage in some customer service training for yourselve and your staff if you are happy to publish lies on a open media site!!!!

Lovely pub. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent and especially the deserts which were huge portions and very very tasty. Presentation of food was also very good.

Can not fault the food but to be told you can not use a gift card that was bought for us for £30 yes the full £30 was paid for the gift card to use by a certain date is ridiculous. It was two for Tuesdays not that this should matter we were told that you can not use the voucher on offers but they have offers every day just different ones. We then asked if we could just pay for our drinks with it and again told no. Not sure when you would be able to use the voucher so advice to anybody thinking of treating your friends or families to a meal here just give them the cash as a voucher will probably go to waste 😡 The food is very good to be fair

What a fantastic pub, had a lovely meal tonight, food was delicious, staff so friendly and courteous, served quickly but not rushed, great value, highly recommended. The cherry pie and custard was to die for. Will be back for sure.

Went here with a group of people it was grill night. We were told we couldn’t have the special priced menu as our group was more than 8. We spoke to the landlord and said none of our group wanted the steak so could we have the specials menu, answer ‘NO’ just no without explanation. So we had to order from the full priced menu which was twice the price. Then 2 of the party wanted curry and and asked if they could have half rice half chips again the answer was ‘NO’ so they ordered 1 with rice and 1 with chips and divided it themselves It’s a nice enough little pub serving ok pub grub with polite waitresses. Unfortunately the ignorant, arrogant landlord spoils it, perhaps he’d had a bad day. So there’s 11 people who won’t be going back. Which is a shame because if we’d had a polite interaction from the landlord we probably would have visited again.

This has got to be one of the most value for money places to eat in Cheshire.

Absolutely wonderful evening at the coach and horses. The staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough for us, and so friendly. The atmosphere was so relaxing. The food was beyond fantastic. They must have a chef beamed down from heaven. The service was excellent, totally professional. Definitely top marks in all departments. We will certainly be back.

Service was so slow, presentation could have been better frozen chips lots of bits. For a local pub 10% service charge, I thought was a cheek you give tips if service is good

What an amazing evening we all had! 12 retired nurses who all trained at Leighton from the 70's got together from near and far for fun and reminiscing. The staff bent over backwards to fit us in and accomodate us even though they were really busy! We can't thank them enough for their hospitality and huge effort to make this a truly special reunion! We hope to be back, annually with, hopefully, a growing number! Fabulous! 💞

That was a fantastic meal we had at the Coach. My partner said it was probably the best meal she had in a long while. Very friendly and warm staff, food was damn excellent, nothing to fault. Very, very tasty, fresh and well cooked. First time there, not the last. 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌

Went at lunchtime, quiet, but all good, food well prepared and presented, and the staff nice n not over attentive. Thought the value for money was good. All in all, very satisfied. Will call again soon.

I visited this establishment today with 9 other of my family members for my 25th birthday. Some of my family members have been before and thoroughly enjoyed their time there, hence why we went altogether. I would just like to take my time to express my concerns about our visit today. Firstly we arrived at 11.54 (6 minutes earlier than we had booked). We were told to leave the pub and return when it opened at 12, so we sat in our cars until 12. This was RUDE and not a great start to my birthday meal. I’m sure there were nicer and politer ways to address this. Further to this, it come to ordering our main meal and three of us asked for the chicken sizzlers, when it arrived there was no sour cream. We questioned this, and were told that there was none in. This should have been mentioned when we were ordering not when the food arrived. We needed the sour cream because this made the meal incredibly dry. The food also came with two small wraps which for nearly £17.00 I believe was scandalous. Myself and the rest of the party believe that the staff were being incredibly awkward with us, we asked if we could have half chips half rice with one of the meals which we were greeted with ‘its portion size and this isn’t possible’. Yet when my sister asked for chips with her sweet and sour chicken instead of rice this was accepted after originally being told it wasn’t. Next… the kids meals arrived with peas on, which is NOT specified on the menu they were given. One of the children has a severe eating disorder which means they are incredibly fussy about what is on their plate and what food touches. So for it to arrive with peas was unacceptable? What if they were allergic? The customer service was as a whole, terrible. We never got asked if we wanted another drink my FIVE year old niece even had to speak up and ask for another drink because she had no drink. Further to this they gave us our dessert menus but didn’t take our order for 20 minutes until we asked the staff who were drinking tea behind the bar whether they had a minute to take our order. Lastly, my mum is coeliac and chose the curry, which stated it come with naan bread, this didn’t come with the meal. I suspect this is because they didn’t have gluten free naan bread but another option should have been available. All in all, considering we have spent £200 today at this restaurant and my sister also bought three vouchers at £90.00 over the Christmas period, I do not believe that it is worth the money and myself and my family will NOT be returning!!!

We went for a drink after work as the pub is close to the hospital. We ordered 2 shared starters between 4 people. Between 20.00 and 21.00 we were asked 4 times if everything was ok with the food 🤔. At 21.20 we were asked if we have finished our food which we were nearly finished but not completely. We answered Yes only because we were feeling pressured to finish and go. At 21.30 we left the place. I don’t think we will be visiting again.

Just had an amazing meal again here at the coach and horses..this place never disappoints at all..the food is always 100%the same is the service..klara was here tonight..always service with a smile..amazing with customers..she was joined with another lady called Lisa who was equally as lovely as klara and was as professional.. see you soon and thanks ladies xxx

Absolutely amazing food service and atmosphere. 11 of us went for a xmas meal very quick service and the meal was piping hot more vegetables on asking also gravy no complaints at all .

Absolutely shocking service ,walked into the pub and up to the bar, approached by assume the landlord from behind the bar and he asked if we wanted a Table.So my wife and decided to eat something and he promptly said ee don’t have any tables.Ge said we could sit at the bar but no where else and have a drink(we should have left then)we decided to have a drink only. He walked off and we waited 10 mins to get served by a blonde bar person who was run off her feet,while I can only assume the landlady and a younger member of staff stood there on there mobile phones.(shocking ) We should have left then but we didn’t. We had another drink we was served fairly quickly by the blonde bar person. We finished that drink and decided on another,and after standing there for a further 10 mins with an empty glass while the landlady was chatting to one of her regulars in clear view of us and our empty glasses. After a few attempts to try to get her attention she finally acknowledged me to say I will get one of the bar staff to serve you I’m Resturant. Disgusting lack of work ethic from this lazy complacent land lady. Needless to say we will never set foot in the pub again,while they are there

Our regular venue for a number of years.

Both our meals were very good and reasonably priced. One a rump steak, with mushrooms and salad, and the other, lambs liver and onions with bacon, served with mash potato and vegetables, were both delicious, and well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout. We looking forward to our next visit soon.

Food was good been near a number off times but on this occasion had my head bittern off by blonde middle age woman her served me drink . I thought I gave her 10pounds in actual fact given her 5 pounds. I she bit my head off said no I rang 5 in the till .which was stupid answer because doesn’t me right. I would have walked out there and then but didn’t Want to make a screen . It was birthday party.she made me feel is I was ripping her off, not well handled. I involved in a multimillion pound events in Manchester I can assure you madam don’t need to screw you for a 5 quid. Rewind my night thanks I just done 2o hours before a came to your small establishment.

Visited for the first and last time. Food nice but customer service terrible. My daughter, new driver and 17 parked accidentally in the staff car park and the landlord thought it was acceptable to block her in. When I approached the bar to ask I was met with a hostile response and told he will be 15mins. When he arrived he promptly showed me a faded sign, a sign that had a security light and said he could have clamped her. She made a mistake and I found that he was rude and disrespectful, they just needed to ask who the car belonged to and of course she could have moved it. Absolutely disgusting treatment of patrons and will not be returning

Stopped by this friendly pub for lunch on a rainy Friday. Service was fantastic.. and food was all cooked fresh and hot. Chips were home cooked.. and plenty of choice on the menu. My dining partner chose the Lambs Liver with mash and veg. It looked lovely and tasted even better. Attentive and friendly service . Would highly recommend for menu choices and quality of food on offer.

Nice pub this, its food isn't going to blow you away, but it'll definitely fill a hole. If you're looking for some good pub grub, this will satisfy that. The service is really excellent, very friendly and welcoming staff.

Food was lovely as ever. Was a bit startled to see a 10% service charge added on but then realised it was optional. I agree with tipping waitresses and waiters but not being forced to but I wasn't actually being forced to when I looked closer at the bill. Lovely place for food and always very busy. You also get a complimentary dessert with the roast dinners on a Sunday which is nice!

Went today for Fish Friday and it did not disappoint!! The serving was huge and it was absolutely delicious. All the staff were very kind and attentive, especially since we brought our toddler with us. My son enjoyed his fish goujons too, it was definitely a treat for all of us. Highly recommend booking a table as it gets very busy during tea time. Can't wait to return again!

We had a roast dinner, pie and kids mac cheese. All of our meals were hot, and plentiful. A great team who clearly work well together making it look effortless. So nice to eat somewhere where you feel welcome, and not in the way. Thank you. We WILL be back.

Tuesday night Two for one Absolutely fabulous

Once again fantastic service fantastic food fantastic atmosphere. We don't come here often enough but when we do it's bang on every time. Cheers guys see you soon.

We visited the coach and horses for a meal in the evening, the food was excellent, however we were upset/annoyed and disappointed when at 9.20pm a member of staff came to us and told us that they were closing in 10mins!!! I asked why when it states they are open till 11pm? The reply "there is no-one else in drinking/eating so we are going to close" yet we would have ordered another round of drinks, so we was given the bill and then had to wait outside (3 ladies) for our lifts to arrive. Could not believe this. And it means we will not visit again. To close a pub at 9.30pm when there are customers in is disappointing.

Dropped in after a day out. The car park was nearly full. We decided to eat in the beer garden and had it to ourselves. There were few tables available inside so I'd suggest booking if possible. Food was of a pleasing standard. We sampled the 'classic burger, steak and ale pie and the sweet and sour chicken. Food arrived very promptly and met our expectations. Will definitely return again.

Had one of the best meals today I have had in years, very good service, and very pleasant. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

Not informed of missing food items on the roast - rock solid lump of mash, dry gammon, bitty thin gravy and poor portion size with limited choice of dessert accompanied. Dessert was not a nice temperature with horribly runny custard.
