Beautiful pub with the most friendly and helpful staff! Popped in for a quick pint on the way to the theatre and ended up staying for food, after seeing some delicious meals being taken to the table next to me! I had the coach burger and my friend had the steak. Both meals cooked beautifully and I will be returning next time I'm in Mayfair!

Traditional London pub in the centre of Mayfair. Relaxed environment with comfortable seating, stained glass windows, wood beams and wood panelled walls. Service is swift and cheerful, full range of alcoholic beverages, and reasonably varied superior pub grub menu. Dog friendly too!

Nostalgic return to this pub last night for me and a pal - a post-work hangout from the early 90s. Still an authentic, atmospheric London pub.Tiny but perfectly formed. We enjoyed the lemon encounter. Thanks to Sophie and her colleague for making it extra welcoming. Cheers!

Fantastic pub really good atmosphere, best pub in Mayfair by far, staff is energetic warm and welcoming, and you defo need to meet Sophie she made our night what a personality love her.

The bar maid Sophie, is brilliant. She made us feel so welcome and has such a great energy. She’s an asset to the Coach & Horses pub. It wouldn’t be the same experience without her smile, her laugh and her pint pulling abilities. If she’s not on shift when you’re in the pub…you’re missing out.

Pleasant London pub. The atmosphere and overall impression met our expectations. The food was well prepared and tasted great. Drinking was also at a very high level

Had cold drinks during the day. Staff wasn’t particularly nice but sufficed for a cold one. Wouldn’t recommend it unless convenience is your goal.

I was in the central London area today and stumbled across this historic and cozy pub.im more than glad I did as the food and beer was top notch but what topped off my experience was the bartender who served me (sophie).she was welcoming, spirited ,could pour a good pint and was able to assist me with some questions I had about the area .she has great customer service.would highly recommend and will be returning again most definitely. A unique pub with fantastic staff

We had a great time at Coach & Horses. The beer was excellent, the bartender was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was fun and laid back.

Chill atmosphere with good music in one of the oldest bars in London on the street where Queen Elizabeth II was born. The beef and beer pie is delicious and so is the burger! The welcome is friendly but you have to sit down yourself and order at the counter. The waiter made me taste the beers to see which one I would like, thank you very much 🙏

Visited the coach and horses on Monday lunchtime, always like to eat here when in this part of London - it was lovely as usual, food very nice and was great chatting with the girl who served us, very professional and interesting conversation. Will be back soon!

A fantastic old 18th century pub and know as the narrowest pub in London. It was written that it only holds 5 tables as so small but that’s not the case now. We sat in an area with at least 7 and there was a dining area upstairs. The staff were friendly and that’s where the positives end. Its a take note of your table number and order at the bar, so as a group of friends, we checked the menu (which is different to the site) and proceeded to the bar to order. It was there we learnt that most of the menu was out of stock (including items we wanted). Why did they not inform us before hand, it would save you on having to go back and reselect. The food was dry and unappealing, my order of removal of some items was not adhered to (lucky, not allergens) which always makes me wonder of health, hygiene and safety. We were also told the service will be a little slower than normal?? Would I go back, no. I went there for its quirkiness. Would I recommend? Difficult, I think you will need to check ahead and see how the food service lies.

Our waitress Sophie was soooo bubbly, friendly and attentive. She even let us borrow her Pride make up ! When my Blue Light Code wouldn’t work, she was patient whilst I got another code and sorted it out! The pub is very cute with lovely music and an amazing spot. 10/10, and thanks Sophie x

Lovely little traditional pub in the middle of London

I hosted a party in their upstairs function room and was SO impressed by everything! The service was fantastic - even before the event they had an online portal where you could direct message and order food ahead of time. The staff on the night were absolutely lovely. They already had a very busy downstairs yet were able to completely accommodate us upstairs. They were all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We ordered quite a variety and all my guests enjoyed it. I think the halloumi sticks were a standout (we kept re-ordering them because they were so popular!). The drinks were great too. We felt everything was well-priced. The atmosphere was great! Such a perfect, cosy pub. Thank you again to all the amazing staff! We had such a great night and my party was a huge success!

The welcome from Jay was exceptional. This is a fantastic pub for great beer and pub grub! Table 25 upstairs has a view over the street, great for people watching. Great location with lovely clientele being just off Old Bond Street. The history of this pub is so underrated, if it were my pub I’d be researching the history and plastering the walls with it. There’s a stained glass panel of an elephant on one of the Tudor windows, it’s beautiful and so incredible old - Tudor/Elizabethan - incredible. Love being here with my dad! Jay is amazing!

We had a meat burger, it was delicious. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere is perfect, the owner even paid attention to the chairs’ seats. I enjoyed my time and would definitely come again!

I spotted this quirky beauty of a pub and popped in for some lunch before theatre nearby. Its an historical gem. I ordered a pub staple in Steak and Ale pie with cabbage, dripping and chips. For some reason the kitchen had put loads of sea salt on everything, especially the chips, and it kind of ruined the meal for me. I don't know why they don't just leave it and let you put salt on if you want...I personally would put no salt on this meal, just pepper. So be warned, if you order steak and ale pie here tell them whether you want salt on it or not.

I chose the Coach and Horses Mayfair as I could reserve a table online, Vegan options were available and I could walk to the Palladium. Despite having confirmation of a reservation, the young chap couldn’t find a booking but there were free tables, so we just could take a seat. The photo of the chair I have attached, pretty much sums up what to expect from the Coach and Horses. Sticky damaged tables, broken chairs and slow service. It was 6pm on a Thursday in May and most people were there for drinks only. Our food order took about 50 minutes for the Vegan chilli and fish and chips. Edit: spoke to the Manager Chris today re my review, he’s a really pleasant guy whose aim is to turn the Coach & Horses into an awesome Pub and I hope his Management support his aim. He’s invited us back when we are in England again.

Very nice, clean, and welcoming environment. This place was highly recommended from colleagues and it did not disappoint. Food was very good and traditional pub selection. Would recommend to anyone looking for a local place for a quick drink or nice meal downtown.

Good vibes They forgot our food order and had fun out of some drinks at 8pm on a Sunday night. Food was pretty crap and for 100 pounds for 2 drinks and 2 meals. I'd save the trip and go somewhere else. Was told it's a good place post marathon but it wasn't.... My partner is allergic to cucumber on consumption and gets a mild skin irritation, we had to go through an interrogation to be able to order. They nearly refused to serve us. Give it a miss!

The food was excellent, highly recommend the steak and ale pie and the coach and horses burger! The bbq sauce is great as well. Thomas was a sweetheart and took great care of our group!

Popped into the Coach & Horses for an afternoon pick me up, and it was perfect. Friendly staff, cozy vibe, and delicious food. Highly recommend the pea soup and Steak & Ale pie. Classic British perfection.

Incredibly poor food, a tiny portion of chips, dry as bone burgers (almost twice decent burgers you can get in London) and no sauce provided - when asked the waitress said they'd run out when there were clearly bottles in cupboard.

Everything is great, they treated us super well, the atmosphere is modern and old, each floor has a bar. I can't recommend a dish because everything is delicious. A 10 out of 10. Congratulations.

Lovely historical pub. Great atmosphere. Didn’t eat but the food looked good, especially the steak & ale pie with triple cooked chips. Queen Elizabeth II was born at no 17 on 21 April 1926 in the home of her maternal grandparents. And Asprey, jewellers to the late Queen, is opposite. Walking in the footsteps of royalty. Humbling.

Came here only for a coffee, the bartender told that they don’t serve coffee. When I mentioned to him that I had a coffee here 2 days ago then he changed his version saying that he was not aware if the machine was working and couldn’t care less to Even double check. Wanted to book for Sunday roast but if that’s the service I rather go somewhere else

Nestled amidst designer stores and art galleries, this pub is an escape from the chaos of central London. The pub's charm starts from the outside. The Tudor exterior with stained glass windows, the inside exposed beams and dark wood paneling creates an inviting atmosphere. It's a stark contrast to the sleek, modern feel of the surrounding area. We didn’t have food but the menu offers a range of classic pub grub with clearly labelled vegan options. The drinks were nothing special, you get what you order with normal London prices. They could be more mindful of their stock as my boyfriend’s sister’s bottle of ginger beer had loads of broken shards of glass on and in it twice. They didn’t refund her but they replaced her drink.

It’s great place but very poor service staff are very rude I am using this place for at least two years please can you check thems attitude many thanks

Great traditional British Pub, great staff and selection of ales!

We went on a Tuesday evening .. love the old charm of the building .. not too busy , a few tables taken but due to certain changes the pub was making , our order at 8pm came around 9pm ( we were advised beforehand ).. eagerly we dived in .. first reaction was - food is not hot , just warm .. taste was wasted due to the latter .. but could have been very good. One order was wrong but we accepted or need wait another 40 mins!! Jay , is 5 stars , hence service rating is 5.. he quickly remedied our disappointments n that smile will bring us back ! Hopefully the kitchen has adapted by then ..

Probably caught them on the wrong day, seemed liked there was a little misunderstanding between the bartenders and the chef. Certain things were delicious but other wasn’t so good; fish n chips, cabbage… I would still stop in for a drink, but would eat somewhere else.

Proper British pub in the middle of Mayfair. Excellent beer especially the Hazy Day IPA. Wish ever Greene King pub did it! The bar tender Jay was great.

Last minute pub lunch with a friend. Stumbled across this pub. What an amazing experience. Food, drink and service was amazing. James is a credit to the establishment. I will deffo be back.

Posh area simplicity, sometimes when traveling all I want is an unpretentious and simple experience. This place is exactly that. The food wasn't awesome, but it was fine. We had fish and chips - fish wasn't fresh, but few pubs serve fresh fish, nachos were uninspired, fries were great, and the mac and cheese was very tasty and well prepared. I very much enjoyed the visit

Another tourist corporate “Greene King” takeover. Had to be educated about my beer, while being served the incorrect pints I ordered. Please support your local independent pubs. Beautiful building, but no longer a great pub.

Just off New Bond Street, excellent pub for Saturday lunch. Good choice of beer; upstairs Dining Room quieter than the 2 downstairs rooms. Fish & chips excellent!

Visited on Saturday lunchtime- pub busy, but spaces to eat excellent fish and chips, and pie and chips, upstairs. Cheerful service.

We visit London 2/ 3 times a year and always call into the Coach and Horses where we have found good pub food, beer and service. No idea what's happened to the place but our most recent visit was a long way from our past experiences. The place was icy cold. The radiators were cold but I was told several times that the heating was on. That was odd because I could see the Hive and it said 15 deg! Now the food. My husband enjoyed his burger. I had the steak ciabatta. The steak was full of gristle and the ciabetta totally dried out. The worst thing was the ladies loo. The stench of stale urine was unbearable. It was so bad I felt sick. Obviously not been properly cleaned for a long time. Very disappointing.
