Clwyd Bakery in Flintshire

Normally we love this bakery and have always made great comments but this time I'm afraid things are different . The vegetarian sausage roll you warmed up for me made me poorly .I tried ringing a few times but no answer you must have been busy I eventually git through a few days later and you did apologise. We spent 16 pounds on cakes which were very gloopy the sliced iced custards have changed some what and are definitely not as nice as they used to be .it saddens me to have to write this because we always looked forward to visiting you but please when you warm up pasties please remember to tell customers that they won't be the same especially the sausage rolls the meat and potatoe pies were still enjoyed like usual but unfortunately the veggy sausage roll spoilt the purchase ..and unfortunately we won't be buying the iced custard slices again .

We just popped in for some fresh bread, which was delicious. The cakes abd pues and pasties looked great.

Just had Cornish Pasty absolutely spot on! Cream cakes lovely too . Very nice would recommend. Decent prices too.

Been here few times now as i work down the road. Ive had a jacket potatoe which was still hard, and just got a chinese chicken bap now it had some brown stuff down the side of my bap and glitter on my bap! My custard slice is not fresh the pastery is hard. Wont be coming here again thats twice now its been crap. Cant fault the prestatyn one though always very nice from there and always fresh but not the talacre bakery!

Went here with my wife and 3 friends while visiting North Wales and was really pleased we did!! The food was amazing and so tasty. The Welsh “Oggie” was really nice and so filling. We followed it with a huge selection of fresh cakes and iced buns to choose from and was hard to choose. Staff were really friendly and happy to help, even thou they were closing real soon. Will definitely head there again when in Wales.

Stayed at Talacre beach holiday park neighbour recommended honestly say great quality food cakes are amazing we had the Jammy Dodger cake every day it was amazing .got a hot corned beef hash pastie was disappointed probably been there a while as dry and geasy .we bought a few cold ones and heated them up they were great .friendly staff bit overpriced for what it is but it’s expected near the beach

Best cakes and pastries. We holiday at presthaven and love the walk to the lighthouse with my dogs then we call in to the bakery for a treat and walk back. The staff have always been lovely and friendly and food amazing can’t wait to come back for my birthday treats

Love this bakery proper homemade food, sausage bacon barms, trifles and fresh cream scones are the best. Keep up the fab work. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

We aim to visit the bakery every two months or so because their steak pies, sausage rolls and trifles are so tasty. Keep up the good work guys.

Been going here with my work colleuges for a few years now and walked in one day and overheard the owner refering to the people in Talacre as 'Talacre ret*rds'. Just goes to show what he clearly thinks of the locals.

On the way to the beech we stopped and got food ror dinner, the cornish pastys , pies were absolutely gorgeous, definitely recommend

Called in this bakery today for a takeaway coffee and the most delicious almond slice I've ever tasted. Delicious! It certainly got me home on my bike. 🚴

Fabulous bakery. Sat outside in the sun and enjoyed my cornish pasty and scone in the sun . Staff are nice and friendly .

If you’re in the area you 100% have to go here, the cakes are to die for and the sausage rolls are amazing. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Visited the bakery on a trip to the beach nearby and decided to order food there. Ordering was easy and COVID-19 procedures were effective and well managed. All the food was tasty and the prices are very fair considering the quality of the food. Overall a very enjoyable lunch and would visit again.

The best bakery ever sausage rolls were amazing as were the cream cakes visited there everyday on our recent holiday in the area

Absolutely lovely homemade pies. We call everytime we visit Wales. Try the Vanilla slices, delicious. Well worth going a little bit out of your way.

What a great little bakery hidden away in talacre just off the A548 coast road. the food is cooked fresh each morning and always tastes amazing from pies and pasties to cakes or full breakfasts, i always take an uncut farmhouse loaf home with me weather we need bread or not

A really lovely bakery, perfect for food on the go either to/from a walk in the beach!! A wide range of both savoury and sweet food and also have take out drinks including hot drinks! A nice surprise to visit on a trip to the beach.

Popped in here for lunch one day, ordered sausage rolls, cheese slice and cakes. Food was great quality, I’m not normally a sausage roll lover but wow, they were good! The cakes were great too. If I’m ever back in the area I’ll come back to this shop.

No visit to Talacre village or beach is complete without calling in here, breakfast rolls or trays, cakes, coffee etc and of course the fabulous Oggie pasties, benches outside to sit and munch away, as we did lol, well worth a visit, gets busy as food is so good, so be early I can recommend the breakfasts, awesome lol

A fab ittle bakers close to the sea.. Tasty and fresh sandwiches, pies and cakes! Yes we had them all lol, (at different times of the day) Hot and cold drinks. Perfect for a hot or cold day. They also accept debit cards. Seating outside too.

For the past 5 years on going to Talacre for our holidays, we have used Clwyd Bakery. Everything is always fresh, really good prices Great staff.... and there cakes are absolutely fantastic.... Strawberry Tarts -- WOW... and the Vanilla slices are BIG and gorgeous.....

Nice shop, very clean. Tried the Corn Beef and Potato Pastie, and it was lovely. Decided to bring some home with us, as well as the steak and onion ones. Recommended.

We just popped in at about 2.15 today. Shop was open, but when we ordered a sandwich we were abruptly told that it was too late and they were closing! We were offered a cold pie! Very let down, and very very rude staff!

Eat in or out, sought after pastries are in demand from folk near and far, and that hot drink of your choice, tops it off. Sit in out of the weather, or outside with your pet, who will find water waiting there too.

If your in the market for a quick tasty snack I can highly recommend the meat and potato pies or one of the pasties.

Popped in for a loaf but couldn't resist a couple of cakes. Had 2 huge belgiun buns filled with cream. Amazing. Would definitely visit again.

Whilst staying in talacre we often call to this amazing bakery. Can always guarantee good pies, cakes and sandwiches that are freshly made for each customer. Myself and my partner came to stay for the weekend and thought we would call in this morning(Sunday) but unfortunately wasn’t greeted by the usual friendly staff. They came across abrupt and unenthusiastic. As usual I ordered a breakfast bap but on this occasion my egg was very over cooked and hard. I’m really hoping this is just a one off as I very much enjoy visiting this bakery whilst our holidays in talacre.

Whenever we visit Talacre we always stop at this bakery!! We always get a pie and cake to take home with us. The pies are always cooked lovely and taste wonderful. The cakes are beautiful and always taste amazing!. The staff are always very friendly! It is definitely a must when visiting Talacre!

Pies, pasties, cakes, all sorts of things, freshly baked and well priced. I had a Welsh Oggy (a very large and excellent type of pastie) and a wonderfully tasty pork pie. My sister had a sweet pastry which she said was also excellent.

Great to find somewhere open lovely little bakery. Highly recommend winter warmer for £3.50 a bap filled with Turkey stuff in gravy and 2 sausages very filling. Sausage rolls worst tasted though full of fat and gristle.

We were went in on Sunday greeted with lovely worm welcome smile by 2 ladies and pies were amazing full of filling not a bite and and think filling gone they were full I was so pleased with service I noticed the names so to Gloria and Laura well done great service I would recommend to anyone

if you are on foot and want something to eat this is what is available. Everywhere else is closed for food because it is apparently out of season, in early September!

Passed the bakery by the beach and saw how busy it was so thought we should try it. We can totally see why it is soooo busy!! The sausage rolls and Cornish pasties are delicious and freshly made. The fresh cream cakes and other cakes are very tasty and look amazing!! We went back several times during our holiday and would recommend anything from here including the breakfast batches they make up for you. All really well priced and homemade goodness. Def worth a visit or several!!

Hands down, absolute BEST pies and pastries I've ever had!!!! Even better than my mum's pastry (don't tell her that!) we brought the kids here for lunch at least 3 times during our 7 day holiday!

I have visited this bakery on a number of occasions and always found the quality of pies and cakes to be consistently excellent. Today, I had a 'traditional pasty' and a steak pie. Having always enjoyed proper cornish pasties I can say with complete honesty that i have never tasted one that comes near the one I had today (even one bought from a local bakery in Devon or Cornwall), and at £1.60 it was incredible value. Likewise, the steak pie, full of top quality steak at the same price.The pies were hot and remained so until finished. Be warned though, don't ask for a cornish pasty as you may not get a polite answer. It is not without reason that this is called "traditional", while its much larger half-dinner plate size version is an "Oggi" (nothing to do with comedian Max!). On other occasions I have enjoyed their delicious sausage rolls, cheese and onion slices, and my wife who opted for the curried chicken slice said it was equally "yummy". If you are in the area, it is a must, but visit with a good appetite.If you have room for one of their cakes, you won' regret it either, except perhaps for the calorie surge!

We visited twice in the course of our holiday and found the quality excellent. The steak pie was sublime in particular but also the corned beef pasty and sausage rolls were also very nice and much superior to Greggs.The kids enjoyed the ham sandwich bap which had good quality ham. I shared a chicken tikka sandwich but found the taste surprisingly bland so they might need to work on that one. It's​ the only thing that stopped us giving a 5 star review as prices were reasonable, service good and benches outside very useful.

This little bakery has some amazing pies and cakes! We drive all the way from Nantwich so we can buy a pie and cake for our tea once we have visited the beach. The pies are absolutely devious and the cakes are to die for!!. The staff are lovely, polite and friendly and it is always clean and tidy.

Having checked out of the park by 9:30 we decided to get breakfast here, nice friendly staff and a lovely place for a quick breakfast gap, came with a free coffee too! Bonus!!!

Popped into this place on spec. Despite the charmless staff I left with pies that were very good indeed. Don't go in for charm, but for the pies.

I enjoyed a lovely homemade turkey bap on a brown roll with plenty of veggies! The kids had sausage rolls and some lovely pastries!! Very reasonable and cheaper than packing a picnic!!!

Visited here while holidaying at talacre beach so we bought a few cakes for after our lunch which they filled a gap haha thank you. Staff are lovely too.

We had some lovely cream cakes and especially enjoyed the yum yums from here on a Saturday. On Sunday we returned to buy some pasties, all very nice, flakey pastry, full of fillings and despite what another reviewer has said it wasn't too expensive at all for a independent bakery. Always have great fresh bread cakes and pastries daily,we called in for something for lunch and wasn't disappointed pies and pasties or sandwiches then cakes or pastries for desert can't fault the place

for what it is ,plus outside there is dog poo all over the pavements disgusting. and very un tastey ,I would not eat there again speacal with children.

We enjoyed numerous visits to the bakery whilst on our break in Talacre. The peppered steak slice is soooo good and all the cream cakes delightful.

I spent a lot of my childhood in Talacre, and so the bakery was a regular stop. Just been back after 40 years - and it is still there producing great pies and bread. Just had to go in to get my lunch on the way up to the beach. Delicious!

The bakery in Talacre is amazing. This was the best part of our stay. All the food looked amazing. Even the things I don't like looked appetising. The prices are very reasonable too. So much so, I'd have happily paid more for what we got.

We decided to grab a couple of pies and cakes to enjoy back at Presthaven and are so glad we did. The steak pie was delicious. Big chunks of meat, lovely thick gravy and yummy pastry. The chocolate brownie was heaven. Really recommend a visit here.

Visited Talacre on Saturday and had to have a steak pie, wow, a pie with steak in - now that's a refreshing change. All you normally get from supermarkets or high street pie shops is gravy and a bit of meat if your lucky, not here the pie was bursting with meat. My other half had meat and potato and yeah meat with cubes of potatoes and not killed with pepper. You must try these pies, they even serve them hot, not Luke warm like some high street chains. Good job I don't live here I'd never be out of the place. I can't believe we found this place tucked away near a beach. Well done you guys excellent food and excellent value for money yumtastic!!!!!!

Day visit to our childhood holidays in Talacre. Went to one of our favourite places the Bakery. Had sandwiches. Pork pies. Steak pie. Apple turnovers. And we ate them on the Beach. Thourghly enjoyed by all the family. Well worth the visit, just for the bakery. Thank you.

We always get lots of cakes from here when we are visiting Talacre, I love the Eccles cakes, and my hubby just loves anything they make that contains fresh cream .

Nice little shop selling all pastries, pies, cakes, drinks. Friendly staff too. A little waiting time but worth it.

I always go here as a local resident. It is always busy which says it all really. The food is all made fresh so the cakes are all handmade, pastries the same... Hot food is always hot. Free tea or coffee with a breakfast bap which is a fabulous idea. Staff are always friendly. A huge thumbs up to Clwyd Bakery. Hygiene is also exceptional. You never see staff touching their hair, not washing their hands etc.

There were 10 of us. Between us we tried, Hotdogs, Steak Pies, Sausage Rolls and a Corned Beef Pasty. Each was perfect. Hot, fresh and very tasty!

Tried there fresh cream cakes and again tried there fresh baked pies. Loved them. Nice fresh bread as well.

Breakfast baps, cream cakes, pork pie for lunch or a big Welsh Oggie for dinner...we tried it all and put on about a stone! The lady who served us was lovely

always visit this bakery when in north wales its cakes and pies are excellent the standard is very good and clean

They have really got better over the years. At first the Pies were not that great , pastry hard and the contents were tasteless. But they have improved greatly of the past 2 years. Tasty Pies, fresh sandwiches, coffee to quench any thirst and Cakes to go 'oooo' over. If you want your favorite pies/cakes, Go Early, as they sell out fast. Friendly staff, and somewhere to sit outside and enjoy your Snack.

The cakes here are irriristable! Enter at your peril. They do a lovely cappucino too. Staff are attentive and ensure the water bowl for dogs is always topped up

Always great to visit this bakery on a sunny day. Food is always fresh and amazing quality. Nice and friendly staff, who also tell me they run the ice cream parlour 'scoopies' next door which has the most amazing organic ice cream mmmmm

Called in today on the way from the beach. The staff seemed very friendly we had a vanilla slice which was the best one iv ever had by far. My son had a huge chocolate chip cookie which was also nice. It seemed busy there was people outside eating too. Great little bakery.

We had lunch from here two days in a row! Lovely steak, meat and potato pies and pasties. My wee boy loved the sausage rolls and Easter cup cakes. Well priced and great service both times! Enjoyable lunch!

Really tasty pastries, and fresh bread, friendly staff. My children had cakes and gingerbread men, very nice clean place.
