We usually enjoy our visits to this garden centre and we did appreciate the many plants and flowers on display as we strolled around. But then we decided to have some refreshments. There is inside and outside seating and we chose inside. My companion wanted a flat white coffee and I ordered tea. After about 20 minutes I enquired as to whether they had forgotten us. They quickly brought our order and my friend's coffee was just right. However my tea must have been left standing, waiting for the coffee to be made as it was very very strong and almost tepid! The Cafe assistants should be trained how to serve different drinks simultaneously without leaving one of them to be standing too long, especially tea! I cannot abide strong tea and neither can my stomach! Very disappointing!

Came to this lovely little cafe/garden centre on the recommendation of my two sisters in law, with there brother (my husband :-)))) ) It’s a place we pass each time we drive to Bristol but have never been to. The weather was glorious so we sat outside. We both had a sandwich I choose the 3 cheese with a relish, hubby a pulled pork. Both came toasted which I was surprised at for some reason :-))) but in all fairness they both delicious. We didn’t have room for cake afterwards and to be honest none of them were covered, but did look good. The actual garden centre is what I’d call a old fashioned garden centre ie just selling plants and much cheaper than the big centres.

We came here for coffee and tea and a long browse around the many plants, flowers, shrubs, trees - of all varieties and colours! It lifted our spirits! Beautiful place and easy to find, right on the main road. Very helpful staff, too!

This little cafe/restaurant is situated inside the Cleeve Nursery and Garden Centre on Main Road, Cleeve. We browsed the plants, bought some, and then had a leisurely coffee and cake in the delightful cafe. Since we were last here, the place has been updated and I did miss the second-hand books etc which are no longer on display,, but all the replacements are desirable items of beauty for anyone's house and/or garden. Very nice indeed!

Very nice atmosphere good service and excellent food. We managed to squeeze in a delayed birthday while we were in band 2 of the pandemic restrictions. It was great to be able to dine in such a pleasant restaurant.

Restricted menu and slow service Disappointed with my visit to this place. I usually eat here when I stay at the hotel The menu has been reduced for a reason that was not explained If you are vegetarian then best go elsewhere where Waited more than an hour for a main meal and the restaurant was basically empty When the food did arrive the quality wasn’t brilliant

The staff were great. Food great too, but I felt for the price the amount of vegetables underneath my sea bass was minimal. A few halved potatoes and a mixture of a few green beans, slices of pepper and aubergene was really poor. I must say each of the other guests had different meals all with much more salad and vegetables.

Every time we come back there we expect more of the same, however we never get more of the same, we just keep getting better and better! We were served this time by the delightful Lowri which we like because she always has time for us and always has a smile on her face. We have been as a couple, we have dined there with family, we have been there with friends and every time we leave with a smile on our faces and a feeling of money and time well spent. We know we can be a tough crowd, we have been lucky enough to go to a lot of places and see a lot of the world. This often means that we expect more than sometimes perhaps we should. None of that matters in a place like La Marina where the food is always great the wine is always just right for the food and the service comes from the likes of Lowri. Lowri who is a long standing member of the team with the owner and manager always look after us so well. They fitted us in and even rang us to suggest moving our table inside when the weather report changed at short notice so that we didn't miss out. When restaurants and staff go the extra mile like that, they are worth going the extra mile to. If you are in Portishead be it as a resident or a fleeting visit, make the time and don't miss out on a fantastic dining experience and smile with them as they always give service with a smile.
