What a lovely Sunday roast we had, beautiful meat from local butchers, very good portion size, all the trimmings and very well priced. Great service from all the staff, very friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was empty when we arrived, but the quality (and volume) of the food warrants that they should be busier; even at lunchtime.

Very family friendly,good value and interesting daily specials,well worth a visit!

Booked and arrived to a closed restaurant wasted my time

Poor. Lasagne was completely tasteless and the worst I have ever had. If an Italian restaurant cannot cook an authentic lasagne then they should probably give up now.

It's one of the best meatballs I've tasted in ages.

Lovely restaurant with lovely staff. The meal was okay. The pizzas and drinks were excellent but my pasta dish was slightly bland and only had 2 small prawns which were disappointing.

Found Botellinos by chance when we headed to Portishead to avoid the motorway traffic on our way to Weston-Super-Mare and had a beautiful 2 course lunch at a bargain price. Lovely traditional Italian with a smartly dressed waiter and beautiful views over the marina. Set menu at lunch with 1/2/3 course options. We had a bolognaise and a carbonara which were both delicious and beautifully presented. My other half suggested a pudding (on holidays after all) and I'm so glad he did, the banoffe was to die for and the brownie got rave reviews from him. Cannot fault a thing and if we're in the area we would definitely visit again.

Not great at all! My red wine was off and nearly made me sick and main course risotto was dry and nuked in the microwave not taste at all had to ask for extra creame as so dry would not recommend

Lunched today with friends. All three meals excellent. Service faultless. Thoroughly recommend based on our experience. Only reason gave 4* for atmosphere was because it was a bit quiet lacked a buzz but that in itself was calming. Will go back x

When staying at a hotel in Portishead we decided to grab some food from here to take away. I rang the order in ahead of time and was told I could collect in around 20 minutes which was perfect. We walked on over and paid for our food when we got there then waited approximately 5 minutes before our food was ready for us. The food itself was pretty good. My partner and I both enjoyed our pizzas. We also ordered the arancini which was also pretty good. We got the deep fried mushrooms and they weren't the best but not terrible either. I would consider eating here again should I find myself in Portishead.

Excellent restaurant first thing I noticed was the staff they were really attentive and helpful. Great location with the marina view. We sat in a booth which was lovely. The food was amazing really tasty and the pasta was authentic, we will be back.

I had a very good Italian style Pepperoni Pizza here although it was a bit too light on the Pepperoni seeing as it was exclusively just a `Pepperoni` Pizza. Very good quality though overall

We've had a busy few weeks, so decided to treat us. We both had the lunchtime menu washed down with a nice wine. Large portions, nice food, excellent dessert. Good service, nice spot by the window overlooking the marina. 5 stars, thank you.

We have just been here for a beautiful set menu lunch. They were accommodating to the fact that we were 15mins after the set menu ran out and honoured the deal. So we had 3 courses for £18.50. We had a table by the window with a lovely view of the marina. The service was impeccable and the food was extremely tasty and authentic. It came out very quickly and was really good quality. Could fault it!

In all honesty this is average-to-good food at best but sometimes that's what you need and they do it quickly and they do it well. A family favourite when we have kids birthdays and need a local practical solution. Service and staff always lovely.

Been here twice. Great service and food. We came for Thursday fish night and Tuesday Steak, both times exceptional. Set price included Wine which was good. Nice and friendly too. But they could do with an extra waiter.

Went there today - lasagna was all sauce and very little meat . Really disappointed-food used to be so good- wont bother going there again. Toilets were very grubby

My favourite restaurant but I am devastated that after 14 years of me coming to bottelinos that I came back last night for food, for my 30th and I always get the same dish religiously, but this time IT HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF THE MENU 😫 orecchiette al pollo and I had something different - but I didn’t enjoy it as much. Gutted!! I’ll need to find somewhere else that does it now. Food was lovely but very expensive compared to what it used to be.

Lunch menu says until 2.30 but you need to arrive way before because the kitchen closes at 2.30 so not enough time to cook. Misleading and drove there to be turned away.

Fantastic experience this evening for my daughters birthday. Great food and attentive staff who were brilliant with the kids. To top off it off we got to see the start of Bambas’ (BGT) show who sang happy birthday and smashed plates with the kids.

Absolutely wonderful linguine gamberi probably the best I have ever had. My husband had the pollo crema , chicken with mushrooms with roast potatoes which was all beautifully cooked.

Went today (Sunday) for an impromptu lunch. Didn't wa t the usual pub roast or a big meal. It was almost empty so not much atmosphere. We ordered a goats cheese pizza and caprese salad to share between two. Also two red wines and some water. The waitress brought our wine and no water. The she brought a goats cheese pizza and a calabrese pizza! When we queried this she didn't have much to say and seemed blank. No apology. I said ok forget it and reminded her we had asked for water. She came back with a carafe of water and no glasses! I then pointed to the arafe and said do you expect us to drink it out of here. A few minutes latwr she silently put two water glasses on the table. No apology. To be fair the pizzas were very nice. When an older waiter who we'd seen before brought the bill I refused to pay the service charge and explaned what had happened. He offered to deduct the cost of the pizza we hadn't ordered but as we had eaten half of it and had the rest in a takeaway box I paid the bill (minus service). Not surprised it was half empty and probably won't go there again. Such a shame. It used to be a good Italian restaurant.

First time visiting Portishead and this place was recommended by a couple of locals. We also thought the setting looked beautiful on the marina. However, we had a very poor experience and wouldn’t return or recommend. There was one young waitress (wish we had got her name) who was the saving grace, she was fab. But they can’t event get the basics right. On the menu they offered a platter of meat, cheese, peppers, and olives. My friend and I got it to share. It arrived - without cheese and peppers. We called a waiter and said the menu specified meat and cheese platter. He went off. Came back and said the cheese is sprinkled on top. It was not. We told him to look. He went away again. And came back with a small bowl of bolognaise and grated Parmesan. When we said we didn’t want it, we were just advising the menu specify cheeses and there is none, he wasn’t happy at all. And also seem very confused. We asked, did you show the kitchen the menu? He went away and both the waiter and kitchen staff continued to whisper and point at us for quite some time. Eventually, a different waiter came over to resolve it, and advised that we had Parma ham and so much chorizo because they didn’t have any salami in. We advised that actually the cheese was our issue, but by this point we were over it. He insisted on sorting the cheese. We had finished eating the meat, and he brought a pile of 3 different cheeses on a plate. Then offered more bread and brought 4 small crostini’s. We really we didn’t want it at this point. But now felt like we had to eat some to be polite. And it was disgusting. All 3 cheeses were ice cold and gelatinous. There was cold mozzarella which could bounce and another that was like a cheese string! We sent it back. At this point, we felt uncomfortable because kitchen staff and waiter were still looking and pointing and we were anxious about the arrivals of our mains. We figured if they can’t get a simple sharing meat and cheese platter together, what on earth would our mains be like. We ordered carbonara. The menu said it was made with egg yolk, so my friend was excited as she loved it, but often cream hurts her stomach. When it arrived, it was full of cream. It was ok. The pancetta was ok in one bowl but then the other bowl seemed to have more globules of fat. We did eat probably half of it. But nobody spoke to us after delivering our meal, nobody checked in and asked if everything was ok. We weren’t offered any further drinks. Then to add insult to injury, when they brought the bill, they had charged us in full and added a 10% service charge on. We told them we wouldn’t pay for the service charge and actually, we didn’t think the meat and cheese platter with two meats and no cheese was worth £13. The waitress who had been very good went away and did take off the service charge and another 10%. But the whole experience was poor. The restaurant itself is a bit canteen like and the toilets were filthy. Such a shame really. Could be amazing in such a beautiful location!

Kelly was the only saving grace from a truly awful experience. Starters of ravioli could have been made by my six year old grandson! mains didn't even arrive! 😡 Would never dine here ever again!!!!!

We had booked this restaurant as they were advertising a Christmas menu, as we were flying to Edinburgh the next day (Xmas Eve) for Xmas. We had planned to have our turkey dinner pre- Xmas here. How disappointed were we. Firstly, when we tried to order the Xmas menu we were told they didn't have all the trimmings to go with the turkey i.e, pigs in blankets, roast pots & veg, we could have instead turkey, courgettes onions and peppers as the veg!!! I reluctantly agreed to this, my husband ordered a different dish entirely! Starters arrived eventually, service shabby to say the least, even though the place was only half full, tables left uncleared! Starters were mediocre at best! Waited 45 mins after starters, still no mains!? At this point we decided enough was enough and aske the manager Kelly to cancel our order! Kelly to be fair was the saving grace of our evening, she handled the situation professionally and did not charge us for our starters or wine, thank you Kelly. Sadly, we will never return 😔

We visited Bottelinos, Portishead for a birthday lunch on Christmas Eve and have to say the staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and they were all so happy, polite and friendly. It really made our experience that much more special and we were very grateful to them. Our waitress, Cara, was just fantastic. Thank you all, what a great team!

On arrival there was no warmth in the greeting and nowhere to hang coats. An excellent menu only produced one of the fish courses offered and at least three of the mains offered were unavailable. The food we did get was acceptable but it was a disappointing evening which we has all been looking forward to.

Awful, awful place. Visited with a group of friends, waited over an hour and a half for food. It was more disappointing than the batteries dying in your vibrator at a crucial moment. Even with the very long wait the food was a very poor standard. I ordered the risotto verde which was with peas, broad beans and asparagus but the broad beans and asparagus were no where to be seen. All of the 15 meals served were substandard and yet when we complained we were met with glares from the chef (who is apparently the general manager). Do your self a favour and order a Dominos instead.

Menu devalued as no lamb cutlets only 1 fillet steak no swordfish or sole as no fish to be delivered until Friday Eating at 6.30 on a Wednesday night Needs to update its menu as to what is actually available

We went here as they offer a 20% off food when you stay at the nearby ibis budget. Staff was pleasant, wasn't super busy which is a shame as the food and service where good. We were located at a window seat with a lovely view. We would come again.

never again the food was poor and the portions small expensive we paid over 100.00 would never go again if you want a very good pizza go to Antonio's on the cab stand excellent.

Best cooked steak in Portishead, consistantly, perfectly done. Best front of house too, absolutely love the service here, they are above and beyond every visit. I've taken a few vegan people here and was surprised at how many options they have, good options too.

Been here quite a few times now and it's always a reliable place for good Italian food, friendly service and a nice view over the Marina.

Salad needs a lot of work but everyone else enjoyed their pizza or pasta

It was a very quiet lunchtime but I enjoyed my Pizza Goat with some work colleagues

Although the wbsite said that the restaurant is open, when we arrived it was closed with chairs on the tables. It gave the impression that it had been closed for some time as the patio area outside was full of leaves and weeds and the boxes of artificial plants were in a pretty awful state as well. Very disappointed with what we saw and not what we would expect from Bottelinos who we have known for many years and had good food and service from the staff.

This place has become our regular date night spot, food is always so delicious and fresh. Plenty of choice, my favourite dessert is the cannoli the favour is just wow. Staff are always friendly and go above and beyond for you

What a great setting! Overlooking the marina and floor to ceiling glass windows. The restaurant had only a few customers when we arrived. Perhaps we were early but the place was pretty empty. Our waitress seemed to be in training and didn't really make us feel welcome. We ordered appetisers and waited. Our drinks arrived and we began to eat. Having been a regular customer a few years back, at one of the nicest and authentic Italian Bottalinos, in Emersons Green we were beginning to feel that the magic had disappeared and this wasn't authentic italian. My serving of bruschetta looked thrown together, not chef made! Poorly made, over salty, under herby and lacking in the sunshine of Italy. We were not offered extra pepper or parmesan. The next table had to ask for it. The service didn't extend to us. Check back didn't happen. On arrival of the main course it was obvious that the standards of preparation had dropped considerably. My pizza goat was on a thin crust but it was undercooked so unpleasant to eat. The topping was feeble and again without the Italian authenticity expected. The ragu ordered by my husband was bland and brown. As above, no extra parmesan or pepper was offered. No check back was made. I couldn't finish the pizza goat as I wasn't enjoying it. We took it away in a box. It was later binned. We also had difficulty getting the waitress to bring us water. Not sure what was going on. The restaurant wasn't busy. Overall, very disappointing and we won't return there. The prices are for high quality Italian food and we expected a bit of Italian style and atmosphere. So it's very disappointing to see the state of things here.

Had a table looking out over the marina which was very scenic, service and food was excellent, well presented and very tasty.

Terrible meal, prawns were few and the meat was fatty and tough and in a river of oil. Service was quite quick though but no one asked if the meal was ok. I wonder why?

We took our daughter and son in law and grandsons to dinner at Bottelinos. We have just had the worst meal, the service was dreadful, the chef forgot to cook one of our dishes, I was having the same dish, mine was very different, no We have been going to Bottelinos for years, it is under new management, not impressed, under staffed. I was so disappointed, It will be a long time before we go back again.

Menu changed - not as good as it used to be. Service terrible, had to keep asking for them to come over and no one checked on us once. Food itself was nice.

Stopped here for lunch with my daughter. Had the chicken and she had the kids meatballs. We both enjoyed the food and it was good value for money. The service was also excellent.

Food was fantastic but service let it down a bit. Chips forgotten on main course and coffee brought to table and then food for another table was ready so we had to wait for milk and a hot chocolate. Overall we had a lovely evening staff friendly.

Pasta cold, I assume, because it was served on a cold plate and waiting for other meals on our table to be cooked. Now limited menu and no spaghetti bolognese!

We visited here on a busy Friday evening but this didn't detract from the service, which was very good, friendly and efficient. Between the four of us, we ordered the salmon and the swordfish and all of them were perfectly cooked and presented. I can vouch for the salmon as my wide couldn't finish hers. It can get noisy in here when it's busy, but there are quieter tables closer to the bar.

As a Portishead resident we have been regularly eating at Bottelinos for lazy midweek family meals for years. We liked the simple but tasty food, friendly and consistent staff and easy location. ….. but things have changed for the worse. Following the departure of Simon the manager the menu changes, new recipes and service have all been impacted negatively. The prices have gone up ahead of inflation but portions have reduced (chicken pizziola for example no longer comes with veg included but the price has gone up)! The kids pizza has been “upgraded” to feature whole slices of prosciutto rather than the chunky diced ham previously used. It’s hard for children to eat and my non picky son didn’t enjoy it. We fed back but they’ve not reverted back to the old ingredient. The restaurant is tired and the quality is mediocre but they’re trying to charge prices comparable to Aqua next door which offer a more premium experience. Sadly we’ll be looking for another option as it’s just not an enjoyable place to eat anymore. It’s always empty now too so clearly others feel the same.

Food was very well presented, and very much to the standards of most Italian restaurants which we enjoyed. Staff were very friendly, and the host manager was quite keen to provide a good service. The atmosphere was quite decent, but I think the only letdown was the background music. I really like Elvis Presley, but it certainly seemed to be on repeat. But price was a little expensive but all in all very happy.

What I loved about this restaurant was, the food, the delivery, the service, the staff and the amazing conversations I had. When we got there, we were greeted immediately with no wait. It was no trouble to sit us where we requested. We waited no amount of time to be served, the waiter was just lovely. We had a pleasant conversation and a few laughs too. The atmosphere was quiet, with a good volume of music, it was not too loud but gentle in the background. It was very friendly and authentic the moment we arrived. It took no more than 20 minutes for the food to be prepared from fresh and brought out. It tasted so beautiful and the portion size was big. We opted for no dessert this time but we had sides and that too was delicious. Upon payment we got talking to the manager who came over to thank us for our custom and ask us how our experience was. He was the most loveliest man, with wonderful manners and very knowledgeable. He told us all about the food we had just ordered and some lovely facts. We felt very valued and like they were grateful for our custom, however we were blessed to have had the opportunity to dine there. If you do happen to go here, you will not be disappointed. 5 stars for me and my husband.

This restaurant is in a prime location with stunning views, inside it could do with a little tlc! menu looked amazing, sadly we weren’t impressed with the food we had! We tried a selection of tapas and sides of rocket salad and potatoes. To be perfectly honest we could have rustled up the same at home it was pretty basic and bland! Nothing we couldn’t have got from lidl opposite! The service from Andy was amazing & he was a pleasure to meet! The food I’m sorry to at was a let down ☹️

Called in on the off chance as had no booking and seated straight away . Drinks arrived quickly and a very short wait for food . Excellent service and really enjoyed our pizza and burger . Recommed this place .

Dined here after a long drive from Stirlingshire. The waiter was very friendly and the service prompt, however 3 pieces of ravoli is not my idea of a main course. This is the main reason for a low graded review. I never complained, its the first night of my holiday and I dont need the confrontation. We paid, left and walked around to Sainsbury's where I picked up some food to eat back in my hotel. The others in the group had Pizza, spagetti and a burger. Pizza was nice, spaghetti and burger average, unsure about pink burger meat- I know that's OK with steak, but not sure about minced meat.

A large group of us visited today for My cousins Birthday, Very pleasant Visit outstanding customer service. Didn't have to wait long for the food, everyone Enjoy There visit , Normally I love the lasnaga im not sure if they have changed it but I didn't enjoy it today sadly :( but everything was Spot on! And the chocolate brownie was Amazing 👏🏻 beautiful venue and Lovely Staff .

Service is beyond 5 star. Aqua is poor in comparison 😢. New menu and fresh management has made them number one once again.

We made a last minute booking for a fathers day dinner. This restaurant always used to be a go to for family celebration meals before covid but im not sure whats gone wrong since covid? We last went about 12 months ago and wasnt overly impressed by the service on a pretty empty sitting. Decided last min to see if could get in and give it another go. It was pretty busy (early eve & fathers day) was sat down even though our online booking didnt appear to be on there ‘sheet’. Waiter quite promptly took our drinks order and these came pretty quick. Then offered to take food order. I went went for a chicken dish which you choose sauteed potatoes or chips with then either veg or salad. I wasnt asked what i would like so explained twice i would like the chips and not the sauteed potatoes. Starters came, of which one was the meatballs - looked overcooked and the sauce which was hardly any had certainly ‘caught the pan’ didnt complain as the person eating didnt want to be seen ‘as a karen’. The mains then came, 1 x spag bol (to me soaghetti looked over cooked and rubbery’ more like a childs portion too) again the person didnt want to complain ‘to look like a karen’ a pizza was ordered, i asked how it was and was told not sure but tastes funny - on closer inspection the base did not seem to be cooked properly - quite doughy still/raw. To top it off my request to have chips instead of sauteed potatoes came with both and with no salad or veg. At this point i’d given up. We waited so long for our plates etc to be cleared that we skipped desserts/coffees and asked for bill. At no point in service were we asked if food ok or if we wanted more drinks. Paid bill to then notice a round of 3 drinks had been added that werent ours. So this had to be raised and refunded. This restaurant isnt cheap and the standard of food/service was awful. We’ve learnt our lesson now after giving benefit twice. No longer a go to in our house now

Went here for lunch on a sunny Friday. The location was nice and the staff were efficient and friendly. The food was of reasonable quality and quantity but I felt was significantly over-priced, and cost me much more than I was expecting (the Service Charge was not included in the cost of the Lunch Time offer, although I daresay there was some small print somewhere that I must have missed) !

Lovely meal to celebrate my birthday. Manager was very attentive and funny. New waiters seem friendly too. Food was good and arrived quickly. Even left with a free little bottle of Prosecco as a birthday present. Would recommend visiting!

A friend and I have had lunch at Bottelinos many times over the past few years and have always been happy to return. Something has changed, possibly the restaurant has changed hands, there are definitely new staff front of house and I suspect in the kitchen. I won't order their pizza again. We will try the restaurant again the next time we are in the area and hope for a better experience.

Overpriced, poor quality, small portions. Would not recommend. The waiting staff were lovely but it wasn’t restaurant quality food.

Salmon linguine was very, very tasty. Service was first-class.

Visit with friend. Very nice view of the marina, food ok but nothing special. Let down by filthy toilets and Xmas music in June. Not busy which was not surprising. Sadly not as good as it used to be.

service was second to none ,starter was very tasty (meat balls ) my main meal pizza vittali was so dry it was not good .my sons spaghetti bollense the pasta was cold .as i said the service was excellent would i go back probably not .our food and drinks bill was over £300 shocking food 😑

I'm afraid Bottelino's decor is well past its best and way out of date. We went with friends and had sea bass on Friday 8th April it was okish :-( Went again on 24th of April and three of us had pizzas and they were absolutely gross! unfortunately I didn't take any pictures they were about two millimeters deep. I had four pieces of chicken cubes about 5mm square a little bit of ham about four pieces of chritzo sausage and that was all on base. It was very hard to cut through wasn't crispy in any way and the base was soggy so I wouldn't recommend going there at all. Taste 1/10 left 80% and no one ask why i left so much. Other 2 left 60%. I can't believe the owners response to my review! HE IS CALLING ME A LIER!!!! He is someone who is blinkered, look at some of the other reviews in last 3/4 months they are not that good either, also a reply too 1 persons 1 MARK and said most people give him 5. Look at photo taken from Google maps saying i was there 3 weeks ago.

Brilliant night out at Bottellino's restaurant Portishead. Cellebrated my 60th Birthday with 30 family and friends. With pre-ordered meals everything went to plan. All the staff were very professional and really helpful. Food excellent, served hot and freshly cooked. All the staff were really professional and friendly. I'd like to thank them so much for making this event so special for all of us. Liz and Tim Welsh.

Fresh delicious food in a great setting over the Marina. Pleasant and courteous staff, will definitely use again.

This has always been my favourite restaurant for pizza. Sadly not on this occasion. All of our pizzas, 7 out of the 12 of us had pizza, the tiniest amount of cheese on. It was just pizza dough and tomato sauce with barely 3 blobs of mozzarella on top and no other cheese. The steak was supposed to have a choice of potatoes and salad included in the £22.95 price tag. We did not notice until studying the receipt after that they had added the salad and fries on as extras! Costing nearly an extra £8. We didnt get offered parmesan cheese or black pepper with any of our dishes and the young guy in the suit who works there was a right misery. All the other staff I could not complain about, it was just a shame the pizzas were so awful. Will never go back. £246+ or £270+ if we had paid the service charge on top. Very expensive for a disappointing special birthday.

Friendly welcome, fabulous food. Calamari and Risotto were perfectly cooked.

Very disappointed with last night's service and the food was not the normal quality. First time taken friends here and was so disappointed.

We had a lovely meal and were served by Jake who was so friendly and helpful. We were really impressed by his standard of service.
