Restricted menu and slow service Disappointed with my visit to this place. I usually eat here when I stay at the hotel The menu has been reduced for a reason that was not explained If you are vegetarian then best go elsewhere where Waited more than an hour for a main meal and the restaurant was basically empty When the food did arrive the quality wasn’t brilliant

This place has improved so much recently!! have been really impressed, the vibe is a lot better and more professional place. Our waiter was amazing, cant remember his name but he was so friendly made for a great experience.

Shared small plates with my wife. We had bruschetta, arancini, buttermilk chicken & koffmann fries, all dishes were excellent. Went to the spa then came back for afternoon coffee sitting on the comfy sofas. Great service from Fran, thank for making our day off work a pleasurable one.

I ordered a dish which was supposed to come out with a poached egg. It didn’t mentioned this to two different staff and they ignored this sadly. Didn’t acknowledge the error.

Food was really bland. We shared an American hot pizza and crispy chicken goujons for a quick lunch. The chicken tasted of nothing, just the oil it had been cooked in, and the pizza was supermarket standard. We both agreed the carrot sticks were the tastiest part. No clean tables when we arrived, service staff were going pretty much non-stop so clearly busy. The two stars is for the effort they were putting in. It wasn't cheap either, so we will not be heading back.

Afternoon tea experience given to us as a present. Staff welcoming at entrance, friendly & polite. Sat on a pretty table and immediately offered prosecco which personally tastes unappealing to me. Offered coffee very nice. Food delivered quickly and looked fantastic in its presentation box, however burger was burnt and had cheese (i hate cheese), olives just balls of salt. Salmon & avacado crostinis not to mine or anyone with taste buds liking especially on the small bit of bread. CAKES WERE LOVELY yahoo

Disappointing lunch after a nice morning in the spa. Ordered chicken and avocado salad but with salmon instead of chicken, and it came without the avocado so just lettuce, smoked salmon and croutons. My husband's Bolognese pasta looked nicer. We asked two different people for some tap water but neither of them brought us any. I would have raised these issues in person at the time but sadly we were just left to it after our food arrived - staff were at the other end of the restaurant so impossible to get their attention and nobody checked whether everything was ok either during or after our meal. Shame - definitely the lowlight of my birthday.

We stayed in the double tree Hilton next door which I cannot fault it was absolutely perfect in every way. Unfortunately we went for dinner at the restaurant next door Was surprised it wasn't busy on a Friday night We ordered mains a carbonara and rigatoni Bolognese the service was very slow but wasn't to bothered by this..... My carbonara came out first it seemed fine but I had no cutlery waited another 5 minutes my partner's came out his was stone cold and still no cutlery to eat with. We showed the waitress how cold the food was she said she could heat this.... By now my food was getting cold and still no cutlery so we didn't bother was charged for our drinks and bread and left. We were here for a anniversary had spent a lovely afternoon in the hotel and was very much looking forward to a lovely dinner!

Last year I visited this restaurant a couple of times and the food and service has always been great. On this occasion though It was poor! Ordered the carbonara.. think I found one tiny slice of bacon, bland bland bland! Asked for a side of cheese as the sauce was seriously lacking it, took 20 mins to arrive at which point I had finished eating the overcooked soggy pasta! Such a shame as the restaurant has potential

We came for the Italian Afternoon Tea after spending the afternoon at the spa (which was lovely). Firstly, there was no tea or coffee as part of it, never had an afternoon tea where it isn't before. A glass of prosecco or apple juice was the only drink option included. Given how dry the brownies and burgers were, we could have used a cup of tea! The rest of the food (served in a clunky, tired wooden structure) was okay, nothing you couldn't have made yourself at home or bought cheaply at a supermarket. Aside from the tiramisu, there wasn't anything else Italian about it either. Easily the most bland, forgettable afternoon tea I've had. Certainly nothing to do with Marco Pierre White... The service was disappointing as well. The women working there spent more time talking amongst themselves and doing each other's hair by the bar area than looking after guests. We asked for some small plates; we got dripping wet ones. We got one set of cutlery and napkin between two of us. When leaving, we were told we still needed to pay for the garlic ciabatta bread; we informed them we hadn't ordered any. Given that it was mostly empty, it was a surprising amount of errors and oversights by the staff. We'd go back for the spa facilities but sadly won't be returning to Bardolinos.

Lovely afternoon tea here for Mother’s Day, gluten free available without pre-order. Italian themed food was delicious and well-portioned (not too much). Atmosphere was nice but a bit unusual to have diners in their robes from the spa alongside those here for a meal out with friends and family.

Overall a very disappointing experience. The food lacked any real depth of flavour, it closely resembles pasta sauce from a jar. The rigatoni was overcooked rather than al dente and the overarching flavour of the Porcini Arancini was of the oil it was fried in - the arborio rice was certainly not reduced in a stock then crumbed and fried. It was almost as if it was just boiled in water and then had diced mushrooms through it. My expectations were not high and yet I've never had Italian food that has disappointed me as much as this did. Halfway through the meal I questioned whether the Arancini I was given was the correct dish as it didn't have any flavour too it, too which I was told yes it was correct. I said it was very bland and unpleasantly oily, the waitress kind of just looked at me and that was it. I would've expected to be asked if she could take it back etc but nothing. Though the staff were nice enough, unfortunately the service was poor as a result of inexperience and a lack of personality.

Service: Friday during half-term, just two girls trying their best to serve resulting in patrons cleaning tables themselves. Girls were never trained to know how to accommodate customers, kids got their drinks but we had to repeatedly ask for the lnes for the adults. Shameless management (if any) to let this fine restaurant to run, causing it to seem such low quality. Food: Pretty bland. Pizza was drowned in oil, supposed to be olive oil I presume but it was tasteless. Burger served in a cold brioche, why not make it a bit better then a burger van does?! Pasta was so bland we couldn't tell the difference between sauce and a pasta. Kids menu size is for toddlers getting 2" cast iron toy pot costing half of the full dish.

Very disappointed,we booked our table for 2030,on arrival we as initially told "im sorry we are closed " ,we then showed them our booking confirmation and was allowed in ,our food was ok but we felt rushed ,at 2130 we was informed that they were shutting ,will not return or recommend...

Was a beautiful day my 60th birthday present from my daughter, spa day, we had breakfast which was absolutely beautiful, light lunch, 1 hour treatment and the use of the gym, pool, jacuzzi, lovely day spent.

Can’t recommend this place. Meal arrived rather too quickly! Pizza floppy, didn’t particularly look inviting. Taste average. Pasta cooked well but sauce wasn’t anything special and less than I could do at home. Garlic bread not great, soft and not enough baking. Didn’t feel the love unfortunately. Service was ok. Over priced for the quality received.

Awful experience from entering to exiting the premises: I popped in THE RESTAURANT at 3 pm on a Sunday, wanted to order focaccia to take away. I was told there is no food. The kitchen is closed. To my shocking dismay, one member of staff and said: “oh, I thought you wanted a drink?” I’ve heard the restaurant is outstanding, and I wanted to pop in for a long time to try their food. Now I know how outstanding it is. Beyond appalling, unprofessional, sarcastic and helpless stuff. I bet their food doesn’t raise any way higher than the above description either. No wonder you’ve got four stars and I’m pretty sure they’ll go down with this kind of attitude and “welcoming” manner First time AND LAST!

Best burger I have had in a long time.

Lovely family friendly dining. Great quality easy going food, burgers, pizza and pasta. Very reasonably priced and the quality of the kids food was excellent and on par with the adult mains. Highly recommend a visit for a nice easy family meal.

A very boring and safe menu which lacked flavour. Probably not worth visiting this place. The problem with some celebrity chefs putting thier name to places is that inevitably the passion is not there. All about money, open more restaurants and keep investors happy so they get the return. This results in bleeding the place dry and this really shows. It is a hard time for all restaurants at the moment so I would advise choosing smaller independent restaurants to that put flavour, passion and all they have into the business. Service was ok.

Paige & Olivia our two waitresses were great fun, engaging, polite and professional. They provided a friendly service and along with the good food it made for a lovely evening.

No idea about customer service. Super slow have to repeatedly ask for things including menu, to make an order, water, condiments, the bill, etc....

The food was bland and flaverlous, my bolognaise was that flaverlous i could taste the pasta over the sauce. My partner also agreed that her meals was poor. We came on a weekend away and the restraunt had a nice ambience on the balcony

Food tasted great and everything was lovely until.. Both me and my partner were both ill with food poisoning today from eating here yesterday. Both ordered meatballs and a few sides. Both felt a little bit dodgy all evening and our symptoms worsened today. It's made me think twice about eating here.

My first visit to this restaurant and was really impressed by the service, quality of food and the overall ambience. The team couldn’t do enough for us and I really enjoyed the American hot Pizza, this is one of the best pizzas I have had for a long time and I will definitely be returning soon!

Given a menu with cocktails that weren’t available! Only one rose wine available. Waitress not that interested in providing good service. Over cooked dry burger, disappointing linguini, small portions for other meals. Chaos when it came to paying the bill. Won’t be going again and would not recommend. Waste of petrol, time and money.

Very disappointing food. We’re told they were out of cocktails after 10 minutes of waiting for them. Pizzas were not good and quite pricey. The sides are just reheated I’m sure. Would not recommend

The pizza was burnt and the linguine tasted like heinz tinned spaghetti. No tap water - just empty glasses. The waitress was lovely but clearly needed help.

Staying in the hotel beside This place didn’t get try the food as we arrived at an almost empty restaurant with party of 8 they turned us away as the chef said no. Think it’s time you employed a chef who can multi task instead of what ever chef is in there. We hiked a few elderly members of the family all the way down there thinong isn’t the doe we where spending with the family wedding that there would not be an issue. Also my nephew Tony has a disability and could hardly make it up the steps but we got him carted up there and Tony cried cos he really wanted Marco Pierre’s finest pizza really ruined his whole weekend this is Tony in the pic his nickname is handy Tony

Do not take advantage of the half price pizza deal, absolutely not worth it even at half price, really glad it was take away so I could put More topping on them and cook them properly. I think they are trying to save money on mozzarella and the electric bill for the pizza oven 🤣

What can I say… One of the smoothies wasn’t available, due to no mango. So chose another smoothie. Pints of coke not available - only bottles. Ordered a lemonade at £3,20 a pint, it arrived flat, not a single bubble, returned for another, which came out of a 2L bottle of Sweppes… Ordered mains. Pasta, and 2x pizza. The margarita pizza, well what can I say… well…. Photos attached…rather burnt… I asked to return this, and to be completely honest didn’t want a replacement. So choose to sit with my lemonade while the other 2 in the party carried on with their dinner. The waitress came back to offer a 10% discount on the other two meals. Waitress and waiters lovely, shame about the people in the kitchen providing poor food.

Disgraceful dirty cutlery and glasses.Waited over an hour for main meals then they came out one at a time.Only six others diners in the restaurant and they all complained about the long wait.One little boy waited so long he ended up having his meal as a takeaway.You now order your food on the app but you still need staff there were only 2 visibly on duty. Will definitely not be going back

If Marco Pierre White was served the rubbish we were, he'd probably have chucked it on the floor and sacked the chef on the spot. Simple Italian food should be easy - let the ingredients do the talking - but maybe that's where the problems start.. oh no actually that was the average wine list which had to be re-ordred 3 times due to a lack of stock. Service was as unenthusiastic as the atmosphere was flat. No table water offered and the meals took well over 30 mins to arrive in a practically empty restaurant. I wish it was because there was effort and love going into the food, but sadly the bland and flavourless carbonara and the wife's meatballs in tomato puree and undesquingishable powdered cheese suggested otherwise. Unfortunately another typical example of a poor hotel restaurant benefiting from a captive audience unlikely to ever return - just like us. I'd recommend heading into town for one of the lovely country pubs I wish we'd chosen instead.

Truly dire. Instead of a rich and creamy macaroni cheese, I received a plate of overcooked rigatoni swimming in a flavourless watery curdled sauce which resembled sick. I'm not one to complain about food but this was truly horrible. Service was good, food was replaced without question. No longer trusting the chef's ability, I opted for the tomato, mozzarella and basil to minimise the risk of something going wrong. Ingredients were fresh but again preparation was strange with tomatoes cut in half or into thick 2cm chunky slices, not quartered or thinly sliced as you'd expect of a tricolore salad. Experienced an upset stomach later and these dishes were all I had eaten. I can only hope they had a stand-in chef on the day we visited, but I won't be returning to find out. MPW would be ashamed if he ate here.

My husband and I were looking forward to having a nice Italian meal at Bardolinos, unfortunately it turned out to be the worst Italian meal we have ever had. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese, there was water in the bottom of the dish from where the pasta hadn't been drained and there was no cheese sauce, the top of the pasta was just sprinkled with some crumbs of cheese. The carbonara had little flavour and lots of red onion, and the garlic bread was also tasteless, considering there were chunks of garlic on it. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, the only good thing to review on this restaurant was the smoothies and the waitress who served us was very apologetic and kind.

Had lunch as part of a spa package. Limited menu of salad, pizza and pasta. Ordered the pizza, waited 20 mins to be told the chef hadn’t prepared anything yet so no pizzas would be available for 2 hours. The waiter seemed like he’d barely woken up, no apology. My friend can’t eat pasta or salad so we asked for the main menu and was told there’d be a surcharge, so she had an egg on toast which was absolutely covered in pepper. My salad wasn’t nice at all. Such a shame because the rest of the spa day was lovely.

The worst afternoon tea I have ever experience. We had a wonderful “red letter day” massage at the spa along with the facilities but the afternoon tea was quite frankly diabolical. We will never have it there again, neither would I recommended it. Such a shame to a lovely day. Looked like left overs thrown on a stand. Disgusting. An afternoon tea contains sandwiches, cakes & scones, not 1/2 burger, a couple of olives, & salmon on melba toast! Very disappointed

£14 for a very poor pizza. You'd find a better pizza in Tesco. Very few toppings and a small base. Inexperienced staff. I'm shocked Marco Pierre White would want anything to do with this disaster.

Huge fan of MPW for many years and always will be but... and maybe my expectations were too high ... but had a disappointing experience. Young staff did their best but the quality of food served up was poor and bland. I had traditional Italian meatballs with garlic bread. Before looking at the photos, picture in your mind what you might hope to get ...

Some staff seemed a bit clueless. The macaroni cheese had a couple of lumps of cheese. It was tasteless. Only one vegan main course on the menu - tomato and pasta. Again this was tasteless. No vegan ice cream.

the food was taking ages to arrive and I had a meeting 30 minutes after my food had arrived. not impressed. the waiter was very apologetic but was the food arrived to was not what I was expecting and the steak was overcooked, not what I asked for.

Really disappointing - offer on posters all around the club 50% off but as you go to pay it's only if you've booked ....food was not great, staff not offering choice from the menu and then when asked about a dish was told it is a choice of either pasta or garlic bread...so dish was 6 meatballs with some sauce....that's it!!! Really poor. Will not be using again ....and very much doubt will be renewing our family membership...

Went there for an Italian style afternoon tea with a glass of sparkling wine. It was the worst afternoon tea that I have ever had. The restaurant seating was tatty and the food was served on a wooden frame that looked like it had come...

My family and I used to love visiting Bardolino, but has majorly gone downhill in service. We turned up and asked for a table and was told we could sit anywhere we wanted,which would normally be fine, but there seemed to be an abundance (9)...

Went there because there was a January offer. Food OK for the 50% discount but charged full price. Not worth full price. When I queried why the discount hasn't been applied I was given a series of questions and answers and asked to prove the discount offer!!!! Staff not aware of the offer. Overall disappointing experience

The Italian afternoon tea was lovely, something different. Staff all friendly and attentive. Bit weird having tea next to people in spa robes but I suppose it is right next door. Will be back to sample some other things from the menu.

Fantastic afternoon tea with good service

Food is excellent. Went for afternoon tea with my wife. Staff excellent. Put off by people dressed in dressing gowns having food at the tables. Direct access to the spa from here which is not ideal.

Great service and nice relaxed atmosphere, but attentive service. Pizza and smoked chicken salad excellent and coffee good. Very accommodating for family lunch and reasonable value.

Came here as I was gifted a Groupon for the Italian afternoon tea at the Bardolino. We came in on a on Saturday afternoon 3.30pm. There were a few tables free at this time. We could pick our own table but it wasn't easy as every table had a dead/limp basil plant on it. We were presented 2x glasses of Prosecco that came free with the experience - one was clearly the end of the bottle (flat) whereas the other was fresh & sparkling. Then the food itself. The mini burgers & sweet potato fries were lovely. The rest just wasn’t our taste at all - chewy and fatty cold meat wrapped around slimy/mushed avocado, olives, tomatoes & garlic on toast and cold salmon / mayo / cucumber on toast. We left some of it. There were 3x mini desserts - a couple of squares of chocolate brownie, half a lemon tart each & I think it was a coffee tiramisu, but can’t be sure. They were fine. If you’ve been brought this as a gift then you may as well use it, but please do not purchase this for yourself as it is absolutely not worth £25 (which I think was a special offer on Groupon, it’s usually listed as £36….!!). In fact, don’t purchase it as a gift for anyone or yourself! We’ve included a pic of the menu with this review & you could have had 2x main hot meals for that cost. The vibe was a little weird there as well as the double doors to the spa opened out into the restaurant so be prepared to see people in their dressing gowns walking about. Not for us.

First I want to say the staff provide friendly and attentive service. We both had pasta and it felt that it was more quantity than quality. I couldn't say the food was bad but with reference to MPW I hoped for a level above usual...

Waited 2hrs for pasta starters followed by pizza. Pasta was okay (we had a small carbonara and small macaroni) pizza was pretty bland and floppy. Not terrible food just worse than we expected. Only excuse for slow service I can assume may be staff shortages...

We were staying at the hotel to celebrate a birthday, and ate twice at Bardolino's during our visit. The Sourdough pizzas alone are worth the trip. Perfect base, perfect ingredients and excellent service. We also had some salad and pasta between us, and these were equally good. Give it a go, you'll love it.

My goodness me....are we in a pandemic? With germs that stay on surfaces for hours even days if not clean??!!! I LOVE this little place, great with the kids, but my word...the least cleanly restaurant I have ever been to in this country. Table after table uncleared and unclean...our lunch table hadn't been cleared when we arrived for tea. It was difficult to find a table in an almost empty restaurant that had been cleared. Even tables that had been cleared were filthy and needed an extra wipe. Unbelievable. We love the food and the kids enjoy the terrace and well priced kids menu, plus we were staying at the hotel so were a bit stuck choice wise. Sort it out!!!!

Brilliant food Italian 'cream tea'. Good service but only 1 very good waitress. Not many customers but tables not cleared for ages. Also, the only time left for a cream tea was 2:15 but no-one else came in to the restaurant!!

Absolutely brilliant service and food.

When we first arrived no one seemed interested in us as they were stood around chatting. Food was ok service was terrible got seated at a table that hadn't been cleaned so had to ask for it to be done.which is not good especially in the current climate when it was time to have cup of tea to Finnish. The person serving tried to put it on table without clearing any of the plates away. despite having been back to table several times.so we had to move them to next table ourselves but looking around was the same on all the tables this was a gift from me and my wife to my mother in law and sister in law and was spoilt by the very poor way it was handled will not recommend this to anyone don't think we will ever go back

It was a minimalist menu, which is what I like as you know it's going to be fresh. The service was great.
