The burger van was illegally sited. After a long battle the council finally moved it on. Although the food was amazing. The two local cafes should learn from these guys!

Gracias chicos Saludos Lee

This beautiful red trailer is home to lay-by food with heart! Claire, her daughter and husband work hard (and enjoy it!) making homemade burgers, sourcing local ("traceable from birth to plate") meats and collecting "laid this morning" eggs for their food. Clare and family are very modest but offer a great product and a fine independent story too. Clare used to be a face painter, that was, until she got arthritis and could no longer hold the paint brushes. This is when her husband bought Clare her Big Red Van (an old fair ground sweet shop) and did it up into what it is today, an independent local celebration of food. Really reasonably priced. Two breakfast baps (local sausages; made the day before, extra thick bacon and a duck egg) and a latte for £9.50! A hearty honest bargain!!! They even do veggie options! Be sure to sign their petition too. Local authority believes their red van to spoil the view. Personally, I think it adds character and heart! Well done Clare and family!

We had breakfast baps with duck eggs. The sausages are home made saddle back sausages and it was delicious. The coffees and hot chocolates are made properly and the service is warm and friendly. Make sure you sign their petition if you remember as they are having trouble with the council saying the van spoils the view. Really enjoyed my breakfast here.

We live in the village. Keen to support local business ... but sorry... Awful. The food was awful! Dry and old. They did offer an alternative but it was SO awful that I was happy to leave. Never again.

Went for lunch at this venue yesterday. Don't order the garlic mushroom starter as it's a rip off. Got one puny slice of bread with what would probably equate to about two button mushrooms and creamy sauce, although it tasted great, come on £7.95 for this. Previously had more value for money with the previous owners. The small plate ham & egg was very good though and the service off Gleisny was good as always.

Didn’t disappoint. Lovely meals all served with humongous Yorkshire puds! Lashings of gravy and the cheesy leek dish was the best!
