We had dinner and breakfast here as we were staying in the hotel. Dinner was delicious, freshly cooked, and very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was included in the room rate, and it was excellent. Juice, tea, coffee, toast, pastries, yogurts, cereal, and a full English breakfast cooked to order.

We stayed 8 nights in the joining Kingston Theatre Hotel and ate in the Clapham restaurant a handful of times. The food is served piping hot, flavourful and delicious. I particularly recommend the fishcakes, whereas my partner loved the roast dinners at lunch time and Eton mess. Wonderful service, cosy atmosphere and the decor is stunning.

Went for dinner on a Friday night before going to the theatre. We had a table booked and when we arrived were given the choice of sitting in the restaurant or bar - we chose the latter, although both were pretty quiet. There wasn't a huge amount of choice on the menu, although it did all sound good and I ended up having to choose between three different things! We were told there would be a bit of a wait for our meals, but we weren't waiting too long and it all tasted good. The chips were a bit too greasy, though, as was the burger - by the end the bread was soaked it in. We didn't have dessert, but there seemed to be some good options. We will most likely go again, as it is so convenient for the theatre - although it is a little bit more expensive than some other places, but it is worth it for the location.

Entering the hotel restaurant is a moving experience; moving back in time. The decor is recently completed Neo-Edwardian. On entry from the street we were met by a stale smell due to poor ventilation. In the bar we studied the stunningly short wine list. On the white side there are three sauvignon blancs, one chenin blanc, one pinot grigio and two chardonnays. We drank a bottle of Chablis. Later we asked for another. They do not have two bottles of Chablis. The service was rude. They plonked the bottle on the table. Pour the wine yourself into the glasses you used for the Chablis. When we asked for different glasses we were told: “There are four glasses on the table.” There was a hair in the butter. To start I had processed mushrooms in a glutinous sauce served in an impractical dish (see picture) with a knife and fork which you can’t use to eat them. Next I had fish cakes which were horrible slime balls deep fried in batter served picnic style (see picture). Companions had white fish served with unsuitable boiled vegetables like fifty years ago (see picture). The food is terrible. The cost per person for two courses including coffee and mineral water, but excluding alcohol, was £25.

Felicitaciones por su aniversario - Han pasado ya dos años desde que la actual administración (Andrea y sus encantadoras niñas) asumió la administración de Café dos - o - uno. Comida brillante, precios brillantes y servicio brillante. Excelente 😊

Prices don't meet quality. We paid ~£16 a head here, but could have spent ~£20 a head elsewhere for much better food quality and table service. Bar staff were lovely, but the server was bizarre. I had to follow her back to the kitchen door to get cutlery and condiments, but there wasn't any salt, which I asked her about. She turned around without saying anything and walked away. I eventually found some on another table, only for her to be shouting me back, waving a salt pot at me and looking dumbfounded. I ordered a southern fried burger which came without any sauce as they had ran out. It was bland and tasteless. My son ordered a mixed grill with medium steak that came well done and leathery. The steak also smelled like it was on the edge of being on its use by date and tasted disgusting. My wife had a hunters chicken which came almost dry of any sauce. Most of the sauce that was there also tasted like tomato with soy to colour it, not barbeque. We had two flat white coffees that tasted like hot milk. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience in a sequence of them, which is why we hadn't been back in so long, but even the previous ones were better than this one.
