CJ's Cafe in Luton

Just had my first time at Cj’s. Very tasty full English breakfast, perfect size and very good price. Friendly staff and food was on the table in minutes. Will definitely return when working in the local area again 👍🏻👍🏻

The mushroom tasty(would have liked a little more). The egg not over cooked. Overall fantastic experience. Our Delivery Man was very polite too.

Coffee was very nice (not bitter as it can be in some places) & I had a lovely big glass of apple juice as I always like a juice with a cooked breakfast. Both of us wanted to exclude something from our cooked breakfast & they got it right no problem. The cafe goes right through the parade, front to back, meaning that on this lovely sunny day both sets of doors were open creating a lovely through-flow of air. Either a radio or music system provided some background tunes from the last few decades, something for everyone, and not too loud. All in all I could not fault them & we will definitely be back. A small suggestion would be the option to add black pudding to the cooked breakfast. I know it's not universally popular but I regularly cook it from frozen in just a few minutes. This would guarantee my loyalty!

The meal was delivered only slightly later than anticipated, which was fine. The meal itself was very nice - the chicken was very tender and there was plenty of it, mash was very creamy, roast pots and veg was nice, and just the right amount of gravy. All in all - very nice for a mother's day treat, on a thoroughly miserable day weather wise.

Eaten from here a fair few times , it's always been good , however just recently the prices seem to have gone up and the portions are getting smaller, the food is not value for money any more.. Edited to add picture of £3.25 portion of chips

Absolutely an amazing place to eat at. Went for breakfast and it was amazing. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely be going back. Atmosphere very chilled and relaxing very much family orientated. Music choice played had me and my friend so relaxed. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu..Thank you

Not impressed - ordered a baked bean jacket potato with cheese and mushrooms as extra, but got a cheese jacket potato with only mushroom extra - no baked beans. Over £4 for a Cheese and cucumber sandwich. I thought the bread would be home made or something but just usual store bought white bread - could of made the same at home. Breakfast was good but only once slice of bread and butter even after ordering a large. The most disappointing was the Mocha's, definitely not a hint of chocolate flavour, , no froth, no chocolate powder sprinkle etc . It looks/taste like weak instant coffee. It was ok, mediocre food but would not order again with the prices, felt like a rip off.

Loved the Sunday roast got to me hot and plenty of it.

I am sorry the meal were not what I expected and the panini were the worst I had in while for spent that amount of money. Not a happy customer but their mushrooms, bacon and sausages is okay.

Excellent lamb shank, not an ounce of fat and just melted off the bone! Good size too. Generous portions of veg. Would have liked a 2nd stuffing ball and the gravy seperate, but that more personal preference as it made the yorkshires a bit soggy. Would buy again.

Come on - your a cafe, you specialise in breakfasts. The bacon was squirming despite me being asked for it well done, the hashbrown ain't cooked. An the eggs over cooked. Haven't had a breakfast this dissapppointing in a while. Do better man.

Went there today with friends and all I can say is awful food suppose to be a roast dinner, everything frozen charging the same as Toby no comparison certainly gone down hill if you are going to produce a roast dinner then at least produce a good one, decided we will not eat there again.

Ordered a large breakfast for 7.50 pid extra 60p i think for black budding recieved 2 bacon 2 sausage on black pudding mushroom and one hash brown and a plum tomato,scrambled egg and a fair potion of beans but i would not say its a good price for the amount i got but that aside the bacon was rancid it stunk and looked like it was sitting on the side all day scrambled eggs are cooked in the microwave and as a result the water ran all around my plate and turned my hash brown into mash potatoe and my black pudding was just about saved i didnt even atempt to eat the bacon or the hash brown the mushroom where absolutely soaking from the oil so i left them as well the cheese and ham panani that my wife ordered was not even a whole rashen of ham and the cheese had a funny taste in my opinion as i tried a piece as i was still hungry as i couldnt eat all mine for obvious reasons staff seen me cussing about the state of my food and decided to sit outside and smoke a fag and pretend its allright i didnt mention anything but its safe to say im not going back and i recomend you do not try this place yourself

My little girl and I have been regulars at CJs pretty much since she was born, always nipping in for lunch after our classes at the community centre. However, when my mother passed away, I chose the cafe as the venue for our funeral reception and they handled it really beautifully. I gave them some flowers and photographs and they decorated the room with them. The buffet that they provided was lovely, lots of it homemade and there was plenty of food. Charlie even packed up the leftovers for us. There was no rush for the party to leave, no hovering. Overall we had brilliant service and they made a tough day much easier. Thank you

Well done Charlie and Joe for putting on such a magnificent spread for my father's funeral party and delivering it in immaculate condition. All the guests were well satisfied. I think it goes without saying if we need catering in the future we know where to come. Great value for the money.

Exactly what you want from a cafe, good size portions but not overwhelming, well cooked food, fair prices, short wait with pleasant staff and atmosphere. Accommodating for young children too

The owner of this cafe is the rudest person I ever meet in a resturant or cafe, he also refused to serve me! Don't waste your time going in there! Is not true I bought a mask and he refused to serve me! The owner comment is not true!

We are a party of 4 hungry men. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. At £4.95 for a very large breakfast it was a steal. Highly recommend it.

Sunday Lunch is amazing, great quality and quantity. Excellent price as well. £ 6.95 Beef or Chicken or £9.95 for Lamb.£2 for pudding. I have been coming here for a takeaway for over a year, I would not go anywhere else. Charlie, Joe and staff make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. They definitely look after me well. I go there during the week as well, good selection of food. All day breakfast worth having

Visited here due to good reviews. The cafe is very clean with a wonderful layout. Staff friendly and welcoming. There were two of us who ordered a large and regular full English breakfast. The cafe was very busy at the time and after approx 20mins we went up to remind them we were still waiting for drinks. The breakfasts were very disappointing. They were both swimming in juices, everything on the plate was soggy. The bacon looked as if it was boiled and didn’t taste great. We ate the breakfasts we were given and still left the place starving. Such a shame- it looked lovely but didn’t meet our expectations.

Arrived early for Luton airport and found this great basic cafe restaurant. On housing estate by small co-op few miles from airport. Friendly welcome. Toasted BLT and a Vege breakfast , good old British fayre. Mugs coffee and tea and the daily paper. We were not rushed so day in warm reading paper. Would definitely recommend this is you like breakfasts, toasties, jacket potatoes, cakes and snacks. Parking just outside.

They can’t do enough for you. The one thing (in my opinion) which was missing in our community was a cafe. So glad we have a great one here now❤️❤️❤️

CJs is a hidden gem in the Bushmead area of Luton. Lovely food from coffee and cake, amazing cooked breakfast and full roast on Sundays and everything in between. Friendly and clean and local, not a chain which I love! Highly recommend.

My daughter and I visited for breakfast. They didn’t have any children’s options for breakfast and my daughter wanted egg and bacon. So I ordered 2 full English breakfasts, but the one for my daughter I asked them to not include tomatoes or mushrooms. I then asked if it was possible to swap the cup of tea included in the price for a glass of squash. This request was greeted with a very abrupt “no, you can’t swap anything”. I thought this was unreasonable as not only did they charge me for a full breakfast and tea which we didn’t have, we had to pay extra for a squash for my daughter. The food was average.

Awesome again. Great value for money, very large breakfast for £6.50 plus a drink, can’t grumble!! Mmmm

Bushmead has been needing a café like this for many years - a decent, down to earth eatery with decent food at a decent price.

Visited about 1.30 on Friday 24th August with my daughter. Our first visit - I have been meaning to try it as it is local to where I work and opportunity knocked today! We both had Pannonia - tuna and cheese and my daughter had bacon and cheese with a bowl of chips between us. The ladies in there were welcoming and friendly to all the customers. The food was gorgeous and fresh. I could see all the food that came out for other customers looked good too. It looks like they do daily specials - it was sausages and onion gravy and mash when I was there. I wish you luck with you new venture and continued success! I will definitely be recommending to work colleagues for a lunchtime treat. Good luck and keep it up!

I had the salad on todays special ! Very good. and only £4.95. The Sunday Lunch at £ 6.95 is very good value. Beef or chicken served 12 - 3,30 Sunday only. Closes at 4.

This place is a slice of heaven in a hectic world. I'm a busy mum of 3 and drop my middle child to the local pre school. I have been in to this amazing cafe twice. Amazing service good coffee and the gentleman who runs the cafe is always lovely and chatty. Come here if you want to be looked after and given a bit of tlc. This cafe is a true diamond in the world of cafes. You have a customer for life here. Extro cudos for the sparkly tables! My 5 year old loves them!

Yet another superb fried breakfast in CJs. The portions are generous, the price is very reasonable, the food is very good and the cafe is clean and tidy. No doubt we will be back for another gut busting fry up!

Stumbled across this little gem quite by accident. Greeted by Charlie the owner who was extremely welcoming. Large choice on Menu at very reasonable prices. portions were large and well worth the money. Will be coming back would recommend.
