Tried this place, in a group of four. We were the only guests. The waitress was struggling with the language and when I wished her Kung hei fat choi, she was clueless. (Happy new year. ) I asked if she spoke Manderin or Cantonese and she looked at me like I was insulting her. The food was slow to arrive, considering there were only 4 of us and it didn't arrive all at the same time, so was luke warm, by the time we ate it. It tasted very good and we liked what we had, but I would hate to think what it would be like on a busy saturday , or any other evening.

We were the only ones in but it was only 6pm I don't usually favour menus with photos of the dishes but fried intestines and gizzards, battered frog legs, duck tongues. The fish dishes were unusual as well, New Zealand green lipped mussels in black beans, Turbot, crab, The menu was extensive. We went with plain noodles (for the boy) vegetable noodles for the girl, quarter duck and trimmings, sweet n sour chicken donuts, egg rice, hot n sour soup (excellent) bok choi in garlic sauce and lamb scorpion (which didn't arrive) probably our fault We would have liked to be more adventurous but the kids were turning their noses up at our suggestions. What we had was very good, perhaps we will return by ourselves and get stuck into something very different The tastes reminded me of an excellent restaurant above a Chinese supermarket I used to frequent 20 years ago so missed by today's mediocre eateries Very friendly waitress try the apple smoothy oh so fresh and naturally sweet food well presented on modern western white plates and not stingy on portion size

Have walked past this restaurant a number of times, on the way home after work, and it always busy with Chinese students getting their even meal...this was a big factor in thinking we should give it a go. Finally we did on a Saturday night. To our surprise on arrival there was not many people dining in the restaurant, just a few tables taken up. The decor leaves a little to desire, but i think this adds to its ambience. I must admit we had a little communication problem with our waiter at first, as he struggled a little with English, but we thought this could be another good sign that this would be traditional Chinese food. After looking at the extensive menu, including weird and wonderful dishes, i can only assume were traditional Chinese food we ordered. We kept our choices conservative for a first visit and went for the set meal for 4. The smells of the food coming from other diners was really nice, and on receiving our meal we were not disappointed. The food was very evidently freshly cooked and extremely good indeed....i would even go as far to say the best Chinese food i have had. We had plenty of food for the four of us and every dish tasted different and delicious. We had the meal, x2 bottles of wine and a pint of cider for £20each. This place is extremely good value for money, with beautiful, fresh, home cooked food, and interesting and friendly service....we will definitely be visiting again, and maybe going for something a little more adventurous this time. Highly Recommended.

Visited on Sat night - very quiet. Limited menu, it didn't list even half of the dishes my local does. The crispy duck arrived chopped into the tiniest pieces and was very fatty....It didn't get eaten. The main courses arrived along with side plates as our dinner plates with the noodles piled onto a dinner plate!none of the food was left on a hotplate of any kind and quickly went cold. I would rate this as below average.

Went on a sunday evening so it was very quiet, however there was a constant stream of Chinese students going upstairs for karaoke. There's two menus. One in english one in Chinese. Both are equal in taste but the chinese one has a few dishes not suied to your typical english pallet! Overall very reasonably priced and great food.

When this former pub closed it stayed closed for almost a year while the new owners toiled to adapt and renovate the interior. Now Lincoln has a new food destination of the very highest quality. No more tired Chinese buffets. Here the food is cooked freshly to order, the service is enthusiastic and sometimes entertainingly erratic - the young Chinese waiting staff are delightful but make sure you issue very clear requests. Take the Chinese (not the English) menu for the best and most authentic dishes and fill-in the order form yourself from the pictures in the menu. I loved the beef with roast cumin seeds and the stir-fried pakchoy. It's my new favourite local restaurant for as long as it stays at this level.

We stumbled across this, as we were looking for something to eat close to an appointment. We hadn't realised that it was Chinese New Year on the night we visited, which explained why it was so popular. The decor was a little rough around the edges, but the toilets were absolutely immaculate, very impressed. Service was very good and very friendly, food was lovely. I would guess with a little bit more experience, then there's the potential for this to be very good.
