Cinquecento in Kensington and Chelsea

Food was great - pizzas lovely BUT the service and organisation at front of house is awful. Booked a table (having to pay £20 per head deposit), nothing ready when we arrived, table needed wiping (we had to ask), table needed glasses (we had to ask), table needed cutlery (we had to ask). All the reasonably priced wines had run out (minimum was £43 bottle). Just such a disappointing lack of care or service. The original restaurant in Chelsea was great, this though is like a poor man's Italian Cafe. Underwhelming in every single way for a sit down dinner. The Greek restaurant directly opposite is fantastic. Don't bother with this place.

Authentic Italian restaurant ran by Italians!!! The food was amazing! We ordered the San Daniele pizza which was rich in flavour and very generous with the quantities!! The Linguine all’Arrabiata is a simpler option but still really delicious, the tomato sauce had a lot of taste (it’s hard to make a tomato sauce this good and tasty). The girl that served us, Natalia, was really nice and made sure everything was perfect during our meal. 100% recommend

Super Disappointing. Vegan Pizza was ok, ingredients were good. Focaccia was too dry with row onions. This is not the way to make focaccia. 3 years ago it was run by very competent italians, now by unprofessional and unfriendly abrupted disrespectful staff with no connection to Italy. The guy gave bad looks to my husband with no reason and put him in condition to hurry up and pay. When we left they didn't thank us, they even didn't say hello. Very disappointing and poor service. Atmosphere was very intimidating. No more! I do not recommend. No more like 3 years ago.

Food was fine but staff was super unfriendly and the waiting time was long. We had a 10£ voucher from Neo Taste which we booked in advance but when we wanted to pay the waiter just said: “Nah I don’t do that, you have to pay now!” Additionally he charged higher prices than on the menu. Can’t recommend

I’m giving it one star because I can’t give it no stars the man who pretended to be serving me made me wait 20 minutes to repeat that I’ve seen put in the box not 10 minutes before and when I spoke to him about it he had as much interest as a paperclip in my Whole situation. I’ve lived in Portobello Road for 40 years and I’m really sorry for all the tourists who think they might be having something nice to eat because the service is no stars.

Miettete scuorno!!!!! utterly shameful excuse for a pizza! the impasto *dough* wasn't rested or hydrated correctly resulting in an almost impossible to chew dough and crust. the amount of toppings was also shameful. this pizza isn't worth €5 let alone £18!

I was really liking this little pizzeria where everything was authentically Italian, like homemade and very delicious. Yesterday we have visited this pizzeria after a long time and we have been utterly disappointed. The £10,50 Bruschetta was really bad, the bread was stale, everything was overpriced compared to the quality. They served very little amount of overpriced mediocre wine and most of all, the staff was not friendly and they were rude. That was nothing like the last time we left this place very satisfied. Such a pity since this was a nice little tasty stop after a nice Portobello Market tour.

I ordered two pizzas online. I waited for 1h30 for them to bring my pizza (1hour and 30min!) and the pizza was cold I had to re-heated at home. And why is the burratta looking like that? What is the point? Very upset.

I am utterly appalled by my experience at this establishment. To begin with, the pizza was astoundingly salty—so much so that it was virtually inedible. One would expect better from a place purporting to serve authentic cuisine. However, what truly ruined the evening was the attitude of the staff. The men working there were shockingly dismissive, rude, and patronizing, bordering on outright condescension. It was painfully evident that their behavior was rooted in a deep-seated sexism, as they showed no respect or courtesy towards me as a woman wishing to dine there or order takeaway food. I felt belittled and unwelcome throughout. For an establishment in London, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, this level of disrespect and poor quality is simply unacceptable. I strongly advise against dining here—there are countless better options in the city where both the food and the service are far superior.

Booker beware! I booked for a table well in advance but had to cancel (5 days before) and was wrongly charged £200 despite being more than 24 hours notice. Multiple calls and emails over 4 days to have the money returned but sub-par response and no refund.

I loved my visit to Cinquecento Portobello. The food was so tasty, and the service was excellent. It is one of the best restaurants in London, and the prices are quite affordable for the quality of the food.

Cosy atmosphere with friendly staff! Loved the Al pollo salad and wine options. Will definitely return in the future.

Horrific service experience. I have never been to such a rude restaurant in the UK. The manager, sebastian, yelled at us and dismissed everything we said out of hand. We got to the restaurant at 12.00, it was raining and we wanted to get inside as quickly as possible. It took 35 minutes for someone to come take our order. There was also a large group that came after us and then they got their order taken first and food made first. At 12.53, our food still hadn't come. This is fine, the restaurant is busy and it's understandable. However, we didn't have any of the tap water we asked for nor the drinks we ordered. We then complained to Sebastian about the experience we had and he dismissed everything out of hand. We complained that we had been waiting for 'an hour' for food and we still didn't have anything. He then said 'we open at 12, only 50 minutes ago, how can you be waiting for an hour?'. This kind of attitude characterises the interaction we had. Nit picking over a 10 minute difference, which was easier to say than we had been waiting for '53 minutes'. Sebastian was rude and dismissive, especially when we just wanted an apology for his attitude, the service, and an updated time for the food. The food was good, but the argument with the manager ruined an otherwise lovely day.

It used to be good, but now it is absolutely a disgrace. I ordered three pizzas: one regular Margherita and two kids' pizzas. The regular Margherita's dough was still raw in the thicker parts. The two kids' pizzas were both raw and overloaded with garlic! A Margherita with garlic? I've never heard of such a thing. As for the red Margherita, I explicitly asked for only red sauce, but it was inedible due to all the garlic—for kids! I called the pizzeria back, and they: 1. Denied that I asked for only red sauce on the pizza. 2. Implied I was lying about the garlic in the pizzas. I hung up, saying they will never see me again. I strongly advise avoiding this place.

We went to eat, while we were walking through the Portobello market, we accidentally arrived at Cinquecento and it was a great success. Sebastián's attention was wonderful, the pizzas baked at the time were delicious☺️.

The pizzas are very good, we have ordered the Tartufata and Ripieno, highly recommended and the attention of Sebastián of 10, super nice and also speaks Spanish :)

Stumbled on this cosy restaurant in Notting Hill, and the food was so comforting and delicious. Jan was amazing at attending our table. The ambience of the restaurant just made me feel so comfortable. Definitely a must visit

5 people and they put us in a room that I don't even give to hobbits. Everyone packed there. An overwhelm and claustrophobia that you can't see... And its score doesn't surprise me. They try to extort a 10% discount if you give it 5 stars. You can imagine that they didn't do it to us. Find another better place...

Went there because of the NeoTaster app, which I booked my deal 10 minutes before getting to the restaurant that would give £10 discount when spending more than £25. The service was off from the beginning but I didn't think too much about it. I asked to add burrata on my pizza, but when the pizza arrived it came without it and I had to ask again. At the end of the meal I showed them the app with the discount, and they said they didn't take these anymore. So why is the restaurant still showing on the app? They said they supposedly got in touch with the app to ask to be removed but I truly doubt they have from the way the manager spoke to me when the waiter rang him. He was really rude on the phone, terrible customer service, telling me I was being repetitive and there was nothing he, Sebastian, could do but in a very condescending way. Leading me to believe they don't take the discount intentionally and haven't been removed from the discount app as a way to get people to go the restaurant. Alternatively, I would've expected a small discount or an apology for the situation and more initiative to not mislead customers. The app has been a nice experience and had never caused issues before. It has encouraged me to try different restaurants. On the app there was a review from 4 days ago that seems like the customers didn't have any issues. So quite strange they don't take the discount when they're still available on the app and then treat their customers rudely. How convenient to them. Misleading, deceptive and the pizza got cold really quick, which is counterintuitive to the name of the restaurant '500 degrees' in Italian.

Cozy and well-kept place with an open oven, an authentic gem in the heart of Portobello, we were pleasantly impressed by the quality of the pizza, perfectly cooked and very generously seasoned, I had a very good sausage and friarelli, better than many pizzas eaten in Italy, don't miss it 'Great coffee that's hard to find in London. 10+

The pizzas deserve 5 stars, however this restaurant is let down by the service. We booked for 7 people on a Friday evening, but when we got there the manager (Sebastian I believe) told us he didn’t have a record of the booking. We offered to show him proof of the phone call but he refused to look and kept telling us that we hadn’t made a booking. I completely understand mistakes happen, and it wasn’t an issue as there were plenty of open tables. But he kept accusing us and making it seem like a massive favour to arrange a table, which is pretty poor behaviour from someone who works in the service industry. In addition, there was only one waiter serving the upstairs section and he spent half the night downstairs and wasn’t familiar with the menu so several orders were incorrect. If the service gets corrected, I’d happily visit again for the food.

The food was actually good, but sadly the service didn't match. The waiter mistakenly brought two pizzas to the table when we only ordered one. We corrected him, he understood his mistake and apologised. However our bill still included the extra pizza, and I paid the bill without analysing the receipt properly. I realised the next day that we had been overcharged. I went to request a refund but was faced with a rude and accusational attitude from their staff, saying that without a receipt I cannot get a refund, and they refused to ask the waiter that had served us and made the mistake, and they would not check the CCTV even though I gave them the specific time of the transaction. I've never been treated so badly after spending near £100 on a meal for two, especially considering the mistake was completely there's. The same staff member was incredibly lovely to the white man that came before me, leading me to feel that his treatment was potentially racially charged. I did enjoy the food, but sadly some of the staff do not know anything about customer service.

Waited over an hour. Not worth the wait. When you keep having to get up and ask the waiters why a 3min pizza is taking longer than it takes to get to Rome… it gets beyond frustrating… and insulting when they hand you a bill with service charge. Totally inept business. The pizzas… ok… just ok.

Is a disgrace to find out that a great place is completely ruined. I’ve received the Romagnola that is always more smaller and and not reflecting at all the Napolitan techniques. If I compare with the photos I see online seems to be a pizza frozen from the supermarket. Paying a pizza 20 pounds I expect much better.

We spent a Sunday lunch in this Italian restaurant for a pizza and we were completely satisfied. We ordered a Bosco and Capricciosa pizzas and everything was so delicious and ingredients really Italian and fresh. The owner Sebastian was so kind and it take 2 minutes to explain about origin of ingredients and restaurant. We are Italians so we had high expectations and were completely satisfied. We recommend it and for sure for next trip in London we will come back again!

Don’t bother with delivery or takeaway. Waited an hour and a half for my pizzas to be made because they were ‘too busy’. Decided to continue with my order as I had raved about how great the romagnola pizza was to my friends who were round that night. Almost two hours later only 2 margarita pizzas arrive because ‘they were too busy to make the others’. If you are too busy to make deliveries don’t accept them. To then only receive a partial refund from Uber which did not cover the food not delivered. Avoid!

We needed to feel the quality of Italian food after 7 days in London, and here we found it from the excellent Italian pizza and espresso coffee. Absolutely low price. We highly recommend

The food is good, but at this price? We were seated in a narrow aisle where I literally sat in the middle of the aisle. But it wasn't the biggest problem, the food was ok, not much seasoned, the prices were high but bearable, but when I paid, somehow the waiter covered the terminal so that I couldn't see how much it was and somehow I paid 69 out of 55 pounds????? I'm sorry but how? How is it possible that the service was included in the price of £55, which is a bit of an exaggeration. I will never go there again

Very nice pizza but the service was very poor. The waiter was not informed of the menu and he was not able to answer any of our questions..he asked for assistance from another member of the staff for anything we asked or kindly requested. When one of the dishes we ordered was wrong, another member of the team started to speak Italian to us and didn’t make any sense.. I’m sure you can do it better guys..

The food was really good and tasty. Prices were fine according to UK general situation. But when it comes to the service level I would very gently say just dramatic. 1st we relieved a wrong dish for one friend. 2nd after the first dish we were waiting for at least 15’ for the next one, so one person was eating and we were watching. We asked for a pizza cutter and we got a dirty one. Speed of service was equal to the speed of „replay” at a football match.

We have kinda small appetite so we ordered one pizza, one starter, green salad. The pizza was amazing, really chewy and taste dough, fresh tomato paste, such a really nice cheese. I’ll say the pizza is the best thing I’ve ever tried in London!! Also the staff were really kind and amazing!! I’ll go this restaurant again If I go Portobello market! High recommend!!

Excellent quality pizza with a diverse selection of toppings, in a beautiful venue! For those who prefer a white pizza base (my favourite), they have options available too! The pizza at this restaurant has a very fresh flavour 🍕We will definitely visit again!
