Terrible coffee. I ordered a cappuccino and got a large cup of scalding hot water with no taste. Disguised with some foam on top.

If you're ever in need of a restaurant experience that leaves you questioning humanity, look no further than Cinq. This place was half-empty, but the head waiter, who could very well be the owner, made sure to fill the air with his obnoxious presence. From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like unwelcome intruders. He shouted at us to sit at the back and huffed and puffed around like a headless chicken, seemingly annoyed by the mere existence of customers. The highlight of our visit came when we dared to order coffee and cakes from the menu. With a level of rudeness that could win awards, he abusively informed us that cakes are off-limits at lunchtime. When I challenged this absurd rule, he just escalated his abusive behavior. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, I told him we were leaving. His response? Sarcasm and teasing about looking forward to our review. Well, here it is: Cinq, if your goal was to create the ultimate Karen/Kevin-themed restaurant, congratulations. You're doing a stellar job. For anyone else, avoid this place unless you enjoy being berated and belittled. The food might be a mystery, but the hostile service is guaranteed.

Visited this restaurant today..... good choice for me as it was dog-friendly to begin with.. A member of staff invited me to sit where ever I liked... The menu caters for a wide variety of tastes....with vegetarian options....I ordered an aubergine dish, which came with rice and salad....it was delicious, I also ordered a side order of olives, which was more generous than I had anticipated. A lovely mug of coffee to top it all. The staff were friendly, food was good and prices reasonable.....I will definitely visit again!

So we went there with my family, saw a table and sat to order food. To my surprice the manager started to be very rude and asked us not to seat and was addressing us in a ill mannered way saying to order first. When I asked him politely to not be rude he started shouting at me and my family, my kids who were 8 years old and 11 years old were traumatized. And I could clearly see the rudeness was due to my racial differences as other people with similar mistakes were treated differently. I reported them to the property manager, us embasy and police. Stay away from these racist people and dont ruin your day.

ABSOLUTELY disgusting! If you fancy a bowl of sick for breakfast here’s the place to go! Friendly waiter and waitresse. Shame about the old guy who wanted to make an example of his staff all because they forgot a spoon for my tea not a very nice attitude to have towards people that work for you. Also please do not tip here as I found out the staff don’t receive any of it! Feel really sorry for the staff do yourself a favour and try find somewhere else to work!

Awful rude service from terrible staff and a rude female that when I asked her to slice the mushroom for my sandwich said NO I CANT DO THAT. The pasta dishes are full of oil. There are better cafes to go to in the area so avoid like the plague.

It was been a couple of years since I last visited but the sandwiches were just as good. My mum and I were quickly welcomed and seated, we both ordered soft drinks and two toasted ciabatta which came with a nice dressed side salad and a few crisps. We opted for bacon & Brie, and cheese, tomato and pesto both were delicious and served quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout altho the guy who I presume was a manager was often abrupt, sarcastic and almost verging on rude with some of the staff. A little kindness goes a long way especially for waiting staff who are run off their feet! Really nice food tho and I will be back in the future because it’s very reasonably priced for the area and Hays Galleria is lovely too.

If I could award no stars I would be extremely happy. I went to this restaurant yesterday and ordered their Mexican panini which, according to the menu, came with avocado and a salsa sauce. When I took a second bite into one half of the panini my mouth suddenly felt like it was on fire. I had, unknowingly eaten a red chilli! When I looked at the second half of the panini there was another red chilli embedded into the bread. When I complained, once my mouth had cooled down marginally, I was told that is how their salsa sauce is made! Where is the warning that this sauce contains these raw chillies? I wasn't given any apology nor was I offered any refund on the second half of the panini which I was unable to eat as my mouth was still burning. I think this company seriously needs to look at its customer care/service. I will never eat here again and I will pass on my experience to friends and family so they too, will avoid this eaterie.

Check your bill particularly if paying quickly by card. I was charged double for a not so good coffee and dry croissant. Didn’t realise until I saw my bank statement.

Was looking for a simple meal (with wine) near The Thames. It was a hot day and the schools summer break was well underway on ….so many bars, cafes - all overpriced. Then we came across Cinq. There were no seats outside so we settled indoors. We had no idea this was self service or waiter service but were abruptly told it was waiter service and the fact we had sat inside without authorisation was not really acceptable! Anyway we ended up being served by a delightful man who was obviously rushed off his feet! Food was nothing special (we had pasta) but for £5.95 a dish and a fussy vegetarian (me!) it was perfect. White wine at £16.99 a bottle was good too. I would recommend but do not expect the Ritz or Savoy service or food. NB. A service charge was included without diners being advised. Also the toilets were far away. All in all, I would recommend and we will return.

Stopped by for afternoon coffee and cake. Met by one of the rudest servers we’ve ever experienced. Fortunately, he was otherwise engaged while we placed our order with one of the two lovely female servers who were also on duty. The coffees were lovely, but unfortunately, the cakes were not. They had either been kept too long in the fridge, or previously frozen, but they were not fresh, and didn’t taste very good. We told one of our female servers, who was very sweet and apologetic, and she went to fetch the rude man. He bowled over to our table, said really loudly “YOU DON’T LIKE THESE, THEN?!”. Without waiting for us to explain, (not complain, I hasten to add), or without apologising or offering an alternative, he whipped all the cake off our table and we had to watch in astonishment as he theatrically scraped the cakes with gusto into the bin near our table. He then marched off without another word. We asked the female servers if we could talk to a manager, and we expressed our dismay that they have to work alongside such a rude colleague. I went into pay, but the manager (who had said he would be coming to our table but didn’t), didn’t want to engage with me and I had to be served again by Mr Rude, who thought he was doing me a big favour by announcing loudly he had taken the cakes off my bill! I should flipping hope so, I wasn’t about to pay almost £12 for 3 slices of cake that I’d just watched be launched into a bin with all the drama of Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares. I can’t decide yet, whether I want to return to this café. If I do, it will just be for the decent coffee and the entertainment of watching the rudest man on the south bank of the river, theatrically lose his sh1t over 3 slices of stale cake….

Lunchtime visit - massive overcharging Charged for 2 extra meals , 2 extra drinks , a large pizza instead of a medium and 2 draught beers when we had bottles . A total around 35 pounds extra. Queried the bill with the manager who was impolite and aggressive. Eventually got our money back. Food was OK

Whilst on Jury Service myself and a few others decided to go and get a cold drink. Which I may say was very nice, we were deciding whether we to eat and had finished our when we were asked by a very rude member if staff to go and pay inside.
