ASK Restaurant London - Spice Quay in Southwark

He estado aquí casi innumerables veces con familiares y amigos y solo he tenido una mala experiencia (donde un camarero fue grosero cuando le preguntamos por nuestra comida cuando se había pedido hace más de una hora) y Ask Italian lo resolvió rápidamente y ofreció un comida de dos platos gratis. Seguiré regresando en los próximos años, las vistas del Támesis son brillantes y la comida siempre es excelente.

Muy decepcionado. Llegó a las 6 pm, solo unas 5 mesas más en uso. Dos camareros que parecían aburridos. ¡Pedí una pizza que llegó fría! A pesar de tan poca gente en el restaurante. Mi amigo tenía el postre de chocolate bomba que cuando se vierte con caramelo caliente actúa como un volcán. La salsa estaba fría, así que no pasó nada. El camarero se alejó. ¡Pedimos 2 limoncellos que están destinados a ser fríos y no lo fueron! Muy mala noche.

Esta fue nuestra primera visita a un restaurante italiano Ask, la ubicación era buena, a un paseo de nuestro hotel con una hermosa vista del Tower Bridge iluminado. Era un gran restaurante echoey con poco ambiente. Pedimos un entrante compartido que estaba bien, pero apenas podíamos probar el calamar que estaba tan finamente cortado. Tuve la pasta de mariscos y mi marido tenía una calzone nuevamente bien pero nada especial. Terminamos con un poco de helado. El personal era atento y el servicio era bueno, pero no estoy seguro de que volvería otra vez.

3 course set menu. Good choice fof each course. but very noisy and slow service. Food was good when it arrived. Reasonable price but spoilt by noisy uncontrolled children screaming and shouting.

Me and my wife went for a meal, we booked the table for 9.15, we got there on time and on arrival we were told kitchen is closing in 5 minutes even though there were later slots available online. Rushed to order, penne arraibiata had no salt and customer service was appalling. Only good this is the dessert hence the 1 star. Save your money, eat in or go elsewhere.

Have been using this restaurant for many years and have always found it excellent. In the last couple of years though, there has been an employee, who I suspect maybe a manager has spoiled it. On the tables are small glasses, which if anybody else is there, are filled with Lemonade. If this indiviual is on, they are taken away without being filled!! This visit was in December..obviously not full of Xmas spirit!! Furthermore the Xmas menu wasn't offered to anybody whilst we were there, unless they asked for it. Usually this is presented with the full menu. Obviously only concerned with making maximum profit. Food is still good, but I just hope he isn't around next time I go!!

TIMO / ESTAFA , MUCHO CUIDADO EXTRANJEROS CON ESTE BAR, mi pareja y yo fuimos a comer después de ver el famoso puente de la torre de londres, cuando llegamos al local, le pedimos la comida y una botella de agua de medio litro para compartir, al camarero ( Thomas ) parece que no le sentó muy bien que pidiéramos un solo agua, y nos trae un solo vaso aún habiendole dicho que era para compartir, decidimos obviar el detalle y no decirle nada, nos sirven la comida (nada del otro mundo por cierto) y le pedimos la cuenta, pagamos, y como estábamos descontentos con la atención, decidimos esperar por la vuelta para no dejarle propina, tanto mi pareja y yo nos llamó la atención como el camarero rebuscaba en su cartuchera las monedas, y nos las trae, nosotros las cogemos y nos fijamos que las dos libras que nos da, no son las monedas que habíamos estado viendo hasta ahora, pero no le dimos importancia, hasta que las fuimos a meter en la maquina del metro y no nos las aceptó, pues si señores el CAMARERO THOMAS nos dio de vuelta dos MONEDAS QUE ESTÁN FUERA DE CIRCULACIÓN, que no podemos utilizar, y todo hecho a propósito, de ahí la tardanza buscando las monedas en la cartuchera, una vergüenza que por ser turistas tengan la cara de hacer eso, TIMADORES.

This was my first try at Ask Italian and I was not disappointed,friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In our group was 1 meat eater 3 vegetarian and 1 vegan yet it was so easy to order from the menu having a lot of choice. The service was perfect the food was absolutely gorgeous I highly recommend this particular restaurant even if you have such a mixture of dietry requirements,definitely dine here

Ask Italian is one of our favourite chain restaurants so decided to visit this one on a Saturday evening. We were seated outside in a lovely spot pretty quickly, however, the experience went downhill from here.

We visited this restaurant as a family, for an evening meal. We booked ahead, which was a smooth process. When we arrived we were shown to our table, and we chose to sit inside. We then realised that this was our downfall. It became apparent that the customers sitting outside, were provided with a quicker, more efficient service, whereas we, we were forgotten about. It wasn't even busy, so we couldn't understand it. My husband asked for a starter, and the waiter returned with a large jug of water. However, despite our negativity about he service, when the food did arrive, it was hot and delicious.

A lovely ask with a friendly efficient staff, yummy food and a great view of London! Would definitely recommend the pizzas and Lemon meringue pie!

Llegamos al restaurante alrededor de las 2 de la tarde. Nuestro camarero Patryk nos encontró el lugar perfecto en el jardín. Rápidamente nos dio nuestras bebidas y nos ayudó a elegir platos del menú. Su recomendación resultó ser correcta. Comimos fonduta y bolas de masa increíbles como entrante y carbonara con canelones como platos principales. El camarero era muy agradable, sirvió comida lo hizo con la clase y profesionalidad correctas. Cuando regresemos a este lugar, espero que vuelva a hacer nuestro servicio.

Fuimos a este restaurante en nuestra última noche en Londres con la familia, buen ambiente, excelentes vistas sobre el río al lado del Tower Bridge y buena comida. Tengo la lubina que estaba muy bien preparado, las pizzas eran una delicia, así como la pasta. La camarera, no recuerdo su nombre, fue atenta y atractiva.

Visited here last night with a friend and was very disappointed. My starter of mushrooms on toast were so over cooked they had shrivelled up and the toasts were burned. My calzone was ok but quite bland and the side salad was brown and wilted. Service was awful, so so slow and the waiter couldn’t have looked less interested if he’d tried! Won’t be going back to this one.

Esta situado a la orilla del rio, con unas bonitas vistas del puente de la torre, la zona está muy bien para pasear. En cuanto al restaurante, las pizzas están ricas, pero el servicio es muy malo. Te hacen esperar mucho sin atenderte, ni traerte la carta o las bebidas tan siquiera. Las cervezas nos las pusieron calientes! No volvería la verdad. La comida estaba rica, pero el servicio es muy muy malo. Lo siento.

We were recommended to go here by our taxi driver. It was practically empty when we arrived but was chockablock by the time we left so it took a while to get attention to be able to pay and leave. The service was good, nothing outstanding. The food was lovely and tasty, I really enjoyed my pasta and the lentil bolognese was really good, according to my daughter. Value wise it was worth it.

Tasty hot food and excellent service. We went for lunch at Ask italian we be seatead straight away to our table the staff were friendly we were served by waiter who is working for long time there. The view was so nice definitely worth a visit for stunning views and exellent service.

Visited with my friend whilst visiting London. We were served by Patryk and he was absolutely wonderful, such good service! The view was so nice and we watched the sunset whilst eating the amazing food!

Visited with my friend after a long week at the New designers show in Islington! We where given a beautiful table without reservation and enjoyed a wonderful meal watching the sunset! Our waiter Patryk looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble! Definitely worth a visit for the stunning views and excellent service!

Terrible customer service! Came as a family of 3 adults and 3 children and had to ask for everything. Even put the table together ourselves.

We ended up at ASK because the other places around were fully booked, and now we know why it was empty. Service doesn’t care about customers, our friend JF got hysterical. They didn’t want to explain anything about the dishes. Our friend JC found a rat leg in his Lasagna!!!!

Visited this restaurant today with a friend. As the day was sunny we sat outside and therefore had a lovely view of river traffic going up and down the Thames. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. I will certainly be visiting this restaurant again. One point to mention is that the ladies loos are downstairs.

A lovely location with outside seating beside the river and with great views. There were 5 of us, including one child. We had a variety of meals and all of us were very pleased with quality. I especially loved the pizza. Prices are not too high considering the location.

I was visiting Ask Spice Quay on Monday lunch with my friends. The food was great and first class service from Rob . Great location and nice outdoor seating. Great view for Tower Bridge . I am really recommend this place and definitely we will coming back soon.

This place literally made me create a Trip Advisor account it was so good. The best three course meal I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting London particularly the the Tower Bridge I would 100% recommend coming to give this place a try as it is only a 10 minute walk from there.

Ask food is always reliably tasty. This is a great setting just east of Tower Bridge so excellent views.

We had a pleasant meal served by Agris. Seeing some of the recent reviews which were not good we had the opposite experience. The food was very good and we did not have the problems others have experienced as we did not have to wait and there were noissues. Because the antipasti fritto and linguine con Frutti de Mare were very tasty we actually asked for the name of the chef to put in the review as a deserved compliment; Pierpaolo. The location is superb over looking the Thames. Would recommend that the cheaper lunch menus are displayed outside and automatically placed with main menus on tables as Prezzo do and it might encourage passers by to try. If not provided ask.

I never leave a bad review but this time I had to.

I have only given this place one star as I cannot give zero... Avoid this shoddy place at all cost. We were waiting to be seated for over 10minutes... This should have been a red flag as it wasn't busy and there were many dirty tables. However; with it being mothers day we wanted to make it an enjoyable evening. When we were finally seated we had to point out to the waitress that the chair had food on it. She apologised and cleaned it which was fine. We had to wait a long time to be asked about our orders. We ordered our drinks and waited a while for them to arrive. When they did arrive our over priced cocktails were very underwhelming and my mums "twinkle" was warm. My sisters mojito had no mint in it, blocks of ice as oppose to crushed and looked like a diluted squash drink from Robinson. Our starters arrived and was mediocre. Once completed we then waited an age for our main meal. When this came the sea bass dish was burned to a crisp but yet the potatoes were pale and under cooked. We told the waitress who apologised and then brought us back a new one which looked a lot better. The taste was average along with all of the other mains ordered (lasagne and a pizza)

Poor food in a chain restaurant that benefits from a great location. We went and the service was ok, the view great and the ambience ok. The food however let the whole night down. My meat calzone was cold in the middle. Others food was tasteless and bland. I complained and was offered a couple of free main courses on another visit. I’m not that bothered about redeeming them, and to be honest after 6 of us dined there I’m not sure it’s a particularly magnanimous gesture.

The food was excellent! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I've been twice with my family and I would highly recommend the Pollo Milanese!

We had pizza, some flatbread type dish and a couple of drinks. All was fresh and tasty. Nice outside setting which we enjoyed. Service was good, actually much better than most of the places along the river.

Good was ok but more than 1h to be served is way too long. Maybe the team is understaffed but as a client the result is lot acceptable

Unfortunately "average" is about the most generous we can be. It's a pity because the location is brilliant. Service was good, staff were friendly. Maybe we just had an off night, but the calamari starter was below average, too oily and well overcooked. The mains - ravioli, asparagus salad, chicken salad - had a sense of reheat about them, lacking the zing of quality fresh Italian, and the side rainbow salads just short of the crunch of freshness. A further pity as the prices were decent, wine selection good, and service good as mentioned.

Visited late lunchtime midweek when it was very busy but the restaurant quickly cleared. However service although polite was slow. Had long waits between courses. Food okay. It was obviously a good location for the Tower of London, London Bridge etc.

I recently visit this restaurant and I must say I was very surprised. I really like meal,staff attitude and in general I had very nice evening. I did use a voucher that I found on internet and that made me even more happy. Restaurant is in a very nice area with nice view. Overall I must say I will be back with voucher or without. Lovely setting by the Thames. Short walk from busy areas like Tower Bridge but not overrun with tourists at Sunday lunch time. Enjoyable pizzas and salads. Very good gluten free selection - including most pizzas. Given it's a chain Italian we were very happy.

Unassuming Italian restaurant with good dishes and the best pistachio and olive oil cake we have had. Girassol spinach and cream pasta, excellent. And the fettuccine bolognese very good downed with Primitivo Puglia wine.

We just had a dinner with my boyfriend and I must say the food is just amazing and the view of the Thames is worth to go for on a beautiful day. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Something I'd like to come back for more.

I've been here so many times with my girlfriend and that's because we always have a lovely and relaxing time.The staff are always very friendly and helpful.The menu is varied and well priced.The food always tastes superb and you're never rushed.If you sit outside,you have great views of Tower Bridge and all the comings and goings along the Thames.Ask Italian also have vouchers for 25-50% off the main course or total bill,which is an added bonus.An ideal place to eat.

This is a chain restaurant so you don't expect too much but I've been to one in Glasgow recently and it was great. Anyway it was a lovely day and we were sitting outside admiring the view of the Thames. Just as well because we had a long wait for anything. The place was empty but it took ages to get served then get the meal. My prawn pasta was tasteless and it was a case of, ''Spot the Prawn''. The girls had a salad which they said was poor too. As someone else said, ''Tourist Trap''. The trouble is nowadays it's the same dozen or so chains that dominate all the big tourist spots. Bad Service, poor food, I'm glad we were meeting my cuz to have a blether as it would have been a disaster otherwise. With a couple of beers and a glass of wine it came to £70.......too much for that experience.

Recently ate here with my wife and 8 year old daughter. Secluded spot with a teriffic ambience. Service was quick, efficient and the staff were most accommodating. Great choice of pizzas and pasta dishes were delicious. Fantastic views of Tower Bridge and the Thames. Ideal location for eating outside.

On a stroll down the southbank with my parents and fiancé we thought the view from Ask Italian on Butler's Wharf close to Tower Bridge would be lovely. Well that was the only thing that was (although the staff were quite friendly). Note: the serving team is clearly UNDERSTAFFED.

Such shocking experience, despite reservation we have been ignored for 40 minutes!!!! Staff deliberately ignored customers and ignored everybody! I am so appalled I cant even express my views.......

La comida es buenísima y la ubicación, pero el servicio era una enorme decepción. Somos grandes fans de nuestro preguntar en Lincoln, así que tenía ganas de comer aquí. Esperamos unos minutos, y luego tuvimos que preguntar si podíamos tener una mesa. Luego tuvimos que pedir menús como todavía nadie vino a nosotros. Pedimos y cuando nuestra comida llegó una orden lateral que faltaba. Pedimos 2 veces, y cada vez nos dijeron que sería de 5 minutos. Nunca llegó! ! Cuando pagamos la factura nos dijo que no estaba contento con esto, especialmente porque había pedido dos veces y el camarero simplemente se encogió de hombros! !

The pasta quality was poor and the service at best average. The ice-cream was melted in the cup when delivered (use of hot cup) and was far from the description in the menu. Frankly to avoid!

Fuimos después de un ajetreado día para cenar en una gran ubicación. El servicio era muy bueno y todo el personal era muy educado y servicial. Tienen muy buena pizza y pasta y no excesivo. Gran ubicación, lejos de las aglomeraciones más por el agua del río con la bonita vista de puente de la torre. Creo que vale la pena una visita para una buena cena y algunas bebidas.

What could be better than lunch by the Thames? The food was good, the service was excellent it was the perfect venue to meet up with friends.

We made reservations for a travel group of over 50 people. The staff - from the manager, to the wait staff, to the chefs, managed the large group with grace and efficiency, plus the food was good! Very grateful for their service!

We were around 50 people from a college group. They served everything on time and provided a good table so we all can enjoy together. Staff was cooperative and took care of everyone's need. The taste of the food was really great with good visual decoration. It became my favorite restaurant to visit in London. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We were looking for a place to dine and my friend had read some not-too-complimentary things about Ask. We were sceptical but decided to try it anyway - and what a good surprise it was! The rosemary bread and tapenade were lovely. The purple basil pesto on the pasta was divine - with a kick just enough to make it interesting. The pizza was thin and crispy and came with good chilli oil which we used liberally. The baked broccoli also had a zing and the zucchini fries were so moreish! Oh and the prosecco was really nice too!

Service was excellent for a group of our size (about 50). Staff was absolutely attentive and the food was excellent. Of all the places our group went to, this one stood out as the best and I would recommend it to anyone else.

Sur le Spice Quay, non loin de Tower bridge, dans cet ancien quartier des dockers, nous sommes très agréablement accueillis, Ask Italian est une enseigne assez courante à Londres, on nous installe en terrasse, même si c'est une belle journée, le soleil est sur l'autre quai, coté City et ses immenses buildings que l'on peut apercevoir, nous demandons à être seri à l'intérieur, ce qui ne pose aucun problème à nôtre hotesse, qui effectuera un service, agréable et professionnel, notre pause dans nôtre course touristique du we, trois pizzas, et boissons pour un total de 45£ soit 49 € .

Visited here after a walk down the river what a great setting. Ich habe eine Premium-Pizza mit Gorgonzola und Fleisch (Rind) bestellt. Doch, ich bekam ca. 20 Gramm Fleisch und kaum Gorgonzola. Das Fleisch hatte keinen Fleischgeschmack und wurde vielleicht 3 Stunde gekocht. Nur die langweilige Tomatensauce gab es genug.

Had a great meal at Ask with friends and we were served by Monika who really impressed us with the service - Ask is definitely that bit nicer than pizza express with a lot more variety to choose from and it's the same price!

My son and I were meeting up with my brother and his son from Australia ( last seen 11 years ago!) and my cousin whom I haven't seen for years too!!My cousin recommended the Resteraunt because she had been there before. It did not disappoint, place was modern and very clean. Service was swift and with a smile. Very welcoming. Food was brilliant. We were there for hours chatting and we were never rushed. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. My brother said it was the most relaxing lunch he had ever had. We were there for 4 hours Time just flew by! Big thank youJane Dow
