The best Indian for miles. The restaurant is newly refurbished and has a modern yet authentic feel, the food is absolutely delicious and very good value for money. The staff are on hand to help with anything and the whole dining experience was incredible. We can’t wait to come back!

Look its quite simple, the service here needs a good kick up the backside. The servers are non-communicative and with little social skills with the guests, almost like they didn't want to be there. Been twice now and it was the same both times. There was absolutely no connection between the restaurant staff and the guests, I am guessing they have some communication skills so wonder why they choose not to show it to their paying guests. Do they not like the guests, because even when you try to engage they don't bother. The restaurant is small and you can't have a conversation without being overheard, table space is fine, and the décor is nice. Maybe some music would help fill the void of staff friendliness. Food wise, its basic with little in terms of being subtle, but the flavours are strong. Starters are large, so take this into account when ordering. Overall it isn't a terrible overall experience, but for sure it would be better if the staff could be bothered. You know people love a good relationship with the owners and staff, bit of banter, harms no one. It's great that you can bring your own drink. This place could be a local gold mine and star in Lightwater, at the moment it isn't shining.

Booked a table at 09:00 Friday morning for 20:00 the same day for a table of four adults via their website. I received an email confirmation of my booking. However at 17:10 I received a phone call from a gentleman from Cinnamon Palace mumbling that they were full for the evening and our booking would be cancelled. I was informed that they only open at 16:30 and this was not their fault even though the website allowed me to book a table. I asked if they had any earlier or later tables but was told no. No apology or care which is a shame as I regularly order take out and dine in. Won't be using this establishment again.

Went over Summer and while we were disappointed with the service, the food was fairly good. We therefore decided to give it another go and called ahead on a recent Saturday night, and got a booking for 915pm. Being a Saturday night I didn't think it would be a problem at that time. When we arrived, a couple of tables were finishing up, and still some takeaway orders were being fulfilled. However....... being 915pm on a Saturday night we didn't expect no music on whatsoever, our order decision being rushed, and the bill arriving before we were even asked if we were finished! Staff were also sitting on phones in the bar basically waiting for us to have our last spoonful to bring the bill. Adding to that, once chicken dish was lovely , but the other was very dry. Won't be returning.

Fourteen members of the club came to this, until now never visited as a large group, venue. One or two had been in the past and the recommendation was followed up for our ‘dress down - Summer Special’. The restaurant is not licensed, so warning, bring your own alcohol or you will be left with the flattest Coke on the planet! (Other soft drinks are available). After a little bit of what appeared to be ordering chaos, as our large group was split across three tables, all seemed in order and we enjoyed poppadoms in this small, brightly painted venue. We feared that a late night was on the cards as the clock ticked round, then the main meals all appeared, piping hot, accurately delivered to the right table and very tasty. The restaurant’s signature dish of Viceroy Threvuje, a mix of chicken, duck & lamb was a popular choice, along with an unusual but delicious pumpkin side dish. Overall, I think it’s fair to say that a decent meal is on offer here, although it proved a tad expensive considering there were no drinks on the bill. We’ve had better curries elsewhere but I’d visit this one again - GW

Food is nothing special - lamb was pretty chewy - portions are generous but there are a lot of better places than here locally . Service wise it's all pretty amateur - sort of laziness - only seemed to want to clear the table when it looked like there might be chance of refilling it. Wouldn't go back again not get a takeaway

Nice food, although on weekends service can take much longer than usual. The collections for takeaway is a bit disruptive as the customers need to queue and are often hovering over the tables.

Myself and a group of friends visited on the 15th August. 9 of us, the occasion was a few birthdays Arrived at 7.30, took 30 mins to place the order. We had to ask the waiter he did not approach us. he was very reluctant to take the order, kept saying it will be 10 mins starter arrived. OK mains arrived at 9.25, food was OK nothing great, bearing in mind we waited this long with no apology for lateness. we were the only diners in there all night, so they couldn't even say they was busy we asked for the bill and despite there being no alcohol on there (it is bring your own) the total was 330 pound, including a service charge The bill was all hand written and when we refused to pay the service charge, because we in our opinion had a bad service, the waiter got very confrontational and said we had to ! we again refused and he said we had to for tax reasons what a load of rubbish service charge is for a service and we feel we did not get this after a lot of hassel from the waiter we only paid for our food, this worked out at 33 a head which is a lot for starters, mains, sides all of which we shared between us A few of us now actually have bad stomachs, so it is safe to say we will never visit again and I urge others not to either

Early evening meal on Sunday. We wanted to taste the food and we were not disappointed. They serve large portions so we ended up taking some home. The service was excellent, the decor is unique as they have hand painted walls. You don’t see so much fish and duck on a menu it’s all Bangladeshi. We will definitely be going back again.

Tried out the delivery service, which was very efficient from online order. I had a great main dish of Viceroy Threvuje, containing chicken, lamb and duck, very generous portion. Also Mushroom rice and a very tasty peshwari naan. Will definitely use again. Opted to pay cash as not able to use card on line without ringing up, which would make life easier.

Been meaning to go to this place for ages. Went for a takeaway on Saturday evening. Wife had Lamb Bhuna, I had Chicken Tikka (starter) and Chickpea and Potato curry to eat together. Both meals very good, nice spice kick and flavoursome. What really impressed me was the lamb, TENDER!! I like lamb but have for years avoided it from Indian takeaways as invariably the meat resembles the consistency of squash balls! I will return and order lamb next time.

Lovely staff, amazing food! The service was outstanding and the food was even better. The chicken tikka was the best I’ve ever had and the saag aloo and aloo gobi sides were fab. Can’t wait to come back, thank you Cinnamon Palace!

We came here as a larger group last week. The restaurant has been converted from a takeaway so it is very small, and can get a bit cramped. I would suggest booking is essential as space is a premium. The food is really good, highly recommend the Butter Murgh and the Shashlik. Unfortunately they dont really cater for kids and have no options for smaller portions or a kids menu - which i believe is an oversight. When I asked it was a 'no', with no flexibility to do a smaller portion. No problem also that they do not have an 'on licence', so you can bring exactly what you want to drink with you. Just make sure you have a cool box, or facility to keep the drinks cold as they have no onsite fridges or facility to do it for you. There is a coop next door with plenty of choices! Will definitely come back here as it is only up the road and the food is good.

We visited as a group of friends - one visiting from abroad - having booked a table of 6 a week earlier. I received a call to confirm but they asked us to let them know in advance if we couldn’t make it which was fine. Two days before the visit, one member of the group had to withdraw due to family commitments and I immediately emailed the restaurant to confirm the change in numbers. The previous day, the restaurant called to ask us to delay our arrival by 45 minutes which I reluctantly agreed to. On the day of the visit, the restaurant called to ask us to move it back again by a further half an hour and I said that this wasn’t ideal but said we would try to get there as late as possible. Having postponed leaving home until the time the table was originally booked for I then received yet another call to say the table was ready. There were now 4 of us as another member of the party had been taken unwell on the day. When we arrived, the older waiter was extremely rude and approached the table, shouting at me that he had repeatedly asked me to confirm how many there were. i said that I had emailed him about the first person withdrawing but the second had only happened that day, and in fact he hadn’t mentioned numbers but called to repeatedly move our booking. He continued to shout at me and then refused to look at the email I had sent when I pulled it up on my phone. I was shocked at his rudeness to a customer and it certainly spoiled my evening. The food was delicious and the younger waiter was extremely helpful and pleasant, but due to the extreme rudeness of the older waiter we certainly won’t return. Sadly it seems he has form for this and he is damaging the reputation of an otherwise very good restaurant.

I had such a lovely experience at cinnamon palace. Ali - I think he’s the manager - helped me with the menu, he was so attentive and advised me greatly to try different dishes. Would 100% go back! Lovely place and amazing food.

Really fresh light food, Not greasy and heavy. Delicious flavours, and great service. This is a bring your own alcohol restaurant, but amazingly no corkage charge. However we were happy with soft drinks.

Cinnamon Palace is now a fantastic little restaurant with amazing Bangladeshi and Indian food menu. Well worth travelling to for the experience. The decor is superb. Thanks a lot guys.
