Pretty little cafe , I don't go out very much and can go day's without speaking to anyone. I decided I would go out whatever the weather and maybe stop for a coffee or cake I had been in here a few times and noticed it was quite cliquey but hoped it was my imagination. I noticed that large table was set up for a birthday which is fair enough.I went sit in window seat as I usually do and was told I couldn't sit there as the birthday group ' might want to reserve that one as well' they hadn't reserved it,I made to go and was offered a small table with wooden chair , or a seat at back of cafe . The back was empty, defeats the object of me trying to get some company really ! I can't bear places that are like this, all on first name terms and think they are entitled to everything, why not put the large group in the back so they can be noisy and expand if they wish to.The owner was polite but I was quite upset at that point.I have been silly enough to take in old crockery for their use before didn't even get a thank you , I could see a teapot on shelf I brought in. I hope your groovy gang spent lots of money, iwont be spending any of mine in future .It takes a lot for me to go in any cafe by myself but won't go in this one again .

The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends eating here! What a super cute place! We had been looking for the perfect place to have our very first “afternoon tea” in the UK. We went to all of the top rated spots in town, all of which were closed or unable to seat us, so when we walked past Cinders we decided why not. It ended up being the best “why not” of our trip! Meg was so great. She could tell it was our first time and she gave spot on recommendations. She was also so good with our toddler and even made her a balloon animal! The biscoff rocky road, cherry almond scone, crumpet with honeycomb butter, and the pesto mozzarella croissant were the highlights of our tea! Everything was super fresh, crisp vegetables, and perfectly sweet. So much food for such a good price. The inside of the restaurant is clean with cute decor. There are also a bunch of toys and books to keep the kids busy while you relax! Thank you so much for the best afternoon tea experience! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Shanklin!

Cinders serves up good honest food. Nothing terribly fancy (it doesn't need to be) but fresh and decent ingredients. Where it scores highly is the friendly and charming service and the attention to detail. They made us a salad not on the menu and the drinks all came with small biscuits etc. Nice People - recommended.

This is a lovely cafe - bright, clean, fresh and run by a welcoming and friendly mother and daughter team. My favourite coffee is a soya flat white and I've tried to order this at various places across the Isle of Wight without success. What comes back is always frothy and pretty undrinkable. But this time it was great - just what I was hoping for. So if you, like me, are off cow's milk in your coffee, this is the place to visit!

My wife, myself and two long-time friends, all in our sixties, had coffee/tea and cake at this café and it was such a lovely experience. When we arrived they didn’t have a table for four, but someone kindly moved from their table to let us have two tables for two side by side. I’m guessing that this person was a local so it showed just how nice the people from Shanklin really are. The staff were equally as pleasant and made us feel really welcome. The food and drinks were excellent value and superb quality. We were really glad that we found this little gem of a café and can highly recommend it.

We were holidaying in Shanklin and it was a dull dreary day. We came across Cinders and decided to have a cream tea. A lovely friendly welcome and a really lovely cosy tea room. We were asked what flavour jam we would prefer. When the scones were brought to us we were told that they had run out of cream so we had less than normal BUT it really was plenty for us. However they reduced the bill for us which was very nice of them , even though we really had enough. Exceptional customer service. Thank you.

We visited Cinderella's Tea Room in Shanklin whilst on a weekend coach tour of the island. We had an afternoon to explore Shanklin and was looking for an afternoon tea.The tea room is situated in Shanklin High Street at the junction with Languard Road, and we found it whilst walking back from the ‘Old Village’ area of the town. Although away from the more obvious tourist areas, it is worth a visit if you are an aficionado of cosy ‘English’ tea rooms. We were specifically looking for a cream tea although the tea room appears to cater for other forms of refreshment judging from the menu and specials board inside. On the afternoon of our visit (Saturday in March), the tea room was empty (although another customer came later), and we found a table for four near the window easily. The tea room is not large but the interior is very light courtesy of the large window looking out onto the High Street. The interior is very nicely decorated and gives the visitor a welcoming and ‘homely’ feeling and creates a relaxing atmosphere, possibly due to the lack of any significant passing traffic either vehicular or pedestrian during our visit. We all opted for a ‘Cream Tea’ and there were several options as to the content for this with our group opting for a mixture of fruit or Ginger scones. There was also a choice of jams and we chose either strawberry or ginger & rhubarb which tasted very nice. We chose decaffeinated tea and this was served in a pot together with additional hot water for a refill. The tea was made with tea bags so there was no need for a strainer on this occasion. Milk was served in a small jug and we received a refill on request together with some more hot water. The crockery was all china tea cups and pot and although we did ask for a fresh cup and spoon, this was provided with a minimum of fuss. The lady serving in the shop was friendly and helpful when we spoke to her and obviously takes a pride in both the shop’s appearance and the visitor experience. If you are in Shanklin and looking for a more intimate afternoon tea experience away from the busier and more populous areas of the town, then we would certainly recommend a visit to Cinderella’s.

We got to our last day on the Isle of Wight, and having been to many eating establishments through the week, the other half and I had not yet managed to sample a cream tea. Unfortunately, our ferry was scheduled for 12 noon (I won't make that mistake again) so I was resigned to the fact that the tea would not be happening this visit. As we walked through Shanklin just after 9am we noticed the Cinderella tea room was open. You could imagine my eyes were the size of saucers and my heart just leapt on seeing 'cream tea' on the menu in bold letters. The lovely lady kindly served us the tastiest scones, which were well worth the wait, along with the clotted cream and a range of different flavoured jams. We ended our lovely holiday on a high note and I got my cream tea, or should I say breakfast?...

We were attracted to the pace by Talulah and Florence, the owner's 2 Imperial Shih Tzu dogs who were curled up fast asleep on the chairs. We were given a very warm welcome by them and also the proprietor. The rooms are small, but intimate, with lots of porcelain on display. None of the porcelain used for the tea matched but this adds to the quirkiness of the place. We had a cream tea - the scone was still warm and delicious, tea cakes were lovely and the tea and coffee were great. Prices were very reasonable too. We came away with smiles on out faces and revitalised. Strongly recommended if you need a snack and a cup of tea.

This is a delightful little concept tea shop combined with a dress agency. It's delightfully feminine, but you don't feel out of place as a man, just welcome. The owner works out of a tiny space making tea and sandwiches for her customers and producing wonderful scones and jams. Everything is served on bone china crockery made in the latter part of the last century which gives you that feel of retro, but that's not overdone, so you don't feel like an extra for some tv series about policemen and midwives struggling with the day job in the benighted sixties....enough! I must mention Tallulah and Florence, who, along with the host entertained us and made us feel most welcome. By the way, this is very important to point out, this tea shop was open after four o'clock, which is unusual these days.....lovely.

Wandering around Shanklin on our last day this little café positioned on a corner caught our attention. There were four tables squeezed in this tiny café, tables had pretty tablecloths and everything was served on an assortment of vintage china. There was a good choice of cakes - all homemade, my husband had a piece of lemon cake and I had fruit cake, which was very moist and tasty. I had green tea and my husband a large hot chocolate with all the trimmings which he thoroughly enjoyed. There was a little extra of a Cadburys chocolate button on the teaspoons, a novel idea and a lovely one! The shop also sells evening/prom/special event dresses with alterations if necessary. There is a mixture of craft items for sale and some vintage china as well. The owner is very friendly and obviously talented at crafting and baking. What a fun place to visit! We had a ball (pun intended -sorry!) or at least I did. My husband patiently sipped his tea while I had a ball looking around at the items on offer. We stopped for the advertised homemade soups and were not disappointed; the soups were excellent. However, there was so much more to the shop. The small tea room was full of quaint touches that I found delightful. I especially liked the Alice in Wonderland mannequin at the entrance, complete with the Mad Hatter's hat and the Queen of Hearts cards that adorned the frothy skirt of the dress. The sale or hire dresses were lovely and would be such fun to wear. The little girls' dresses would delight any child who loves to "play princesses" such as Cinderella or Elsa. Visit Cinderella's Tea Room, you won't be disappointed!

We can't believe we have never been here before! We saw this cafe mentioned in the latest copy of This England and as we were going to shop in Shanklin thought we would pay it a visit - great decision. An old fashioned type of tea room with lovely 'back to basic' sandwiches, bagels, scones and marvellous home baked cake selections plus tea served in china cups. (Don't worry coffee lovers are well catered for as well). The two lady owners are friendly and the service they provide is excellent. On a horrible day weather wise ( raining with heavy downpours) Cinderellas was like an oasis in the desert. Mind space is limited with seating for only twelve persons on 5 tables but well worth the effort for a visit if you yearn for a tea room with traditional style. We will definitely be back.

Cinderellas is a beautifully laid out cafe in the heart of shanklin town. Sarah and Toni made us feel more like old freinds there for a visit than new customers. Great home made food with locally sourced condiments (try the ginger scones with rhubarb jam) and the home made soup of the day is also highly recomended to set you up for the rest of your day. You can enjoy & buy the crafts and watch Sarah make them too! This is a "must see" cafe if you love drinking tea from fine bone china and enjoying good home baking. If you are looking for that "perfect ball gown" for a prom or black tie event, look no further than cinderellas and enjoy the warm welcome and incredible food whilst there.

We visited last year and I had to go back, only a small place but so 'well formed'. Served by a lovely lady it is tea and scones, cakes etc. You have to try the scones and jam all homemade, my favourite are the ginger scones, jam and Roddas cream, absolute bliss. You can also buy the jam and I was offered scones to take away too, if only I wasn't travelling by train with luggage, but a jar of jam was fitted in. The cakes look delicious and my partner says they were too. They also do dresses obviously!!

Tea was really good, can't fault it.....Environment/Cleanliness: wonderful cosy little shop with a few tables surrounded by different chairs felt very comfy and relaxed.Value: cream tea for 3 of us, less than £12, an absolute bargain for lovely fresh scones......Other (wifi, Parking etc): parking at St Johns Road, £2 for 2 hours, free from 6pm. Did not need wifi as I had a signal on my EE network..Overall Summary: A real treat, takes you back in time to a classic British tradition of cream teas, I highly recommend going here you will not be disappointed....

We were looking for somewhere to have tea and cake after having just arrived in Shanklin for the weekend. I spotted the ballgowns first and then saw the chairs and tables. It all looked very quaint, so we had a look at the menu. It looked reasonably priced so in we went! We opted for the cream tea each - large fruit scone, little pot of clotted cream each, butter and jam with a pot of tea. It was lovely! What impressed me more was that there was a choice of jam. I can't eat strawberry, which is the traditional offering, so often end up not bothering, but here, I could choose from a selection, which was great. Sometimes, it's the little things like this that make it much better. It was all presented with old fashioned china and the whole tea shop is quite 'retro' and quirky, which I liked. The ballgowns hanging up on the ballgowns side are also fabulous!! The lady was lovely. We were the only ones in there as it was quite late in the afternoon, but we enjoyed our cream tea in peace, though she was on hand if we needed anything. I felt it was also priced very reasonably in comparison to some other places. A lovely experience which I'm sure we'd repeat when next in the area.

Me and my friend popped in here and had the loveliest experience, with tea served in cups and saucers and a lovely selection of nibbles, including homemade ginger scones and crumpets with jam and butter, it was heart warming. The owners were kind and friendly and they have a stunning collection of gowns which we had a browse of as well as a knitting club happening. Although small it felt more intimate than crowded. It was warm, friendly and visually pleasing, I highly recommend a visit :0)

Found this place by accident one cold Saturday afternoon, every other venue appeared to be shut so decided to try this, very glad we did, it was quirky, fun and the lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. The place had been very busy that day and most things were sold out but the cake and tea we had was lovely. Would recommend as somewhere a bit out of the ordinary and fun!

As 2 places with the same name, so not sure if this is the same place we went to , near the police department in Newport. This cafe is owned by a super friendly and funny Irish lady who came there in the 90’s and didn’t leave. I’ve never had such a delicious breakfast, as the menu was so different. My friends had some favorites from Ireland and we were all so impressed. I asked her to come to Long Island and set up shop there. There will be lines around the block.

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx

The staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating. We went with my elderly, disabled parents, and they couldn’t do enough for us. The home-made cakes are to die for and the view. I could’ve sat there for ever.
