We come here regularly and it is always great. Lovely food, friendly staff and excellent service. Authentic Italian style pizzas and a good range of pastas. Had a taster of their new lunch menu last week and it was fantastic - really tasty selection of focacia sandwiches on freshly baked bread. Best place to eat in Oxton village by far.

It's one of those amazing finds that you don't come across every day. Little restaurant in a lovely village where everyone is so nice. 5* food and 5* service and an amazing evening. A small number of tables means the quality of food and service is 20x better than big chain restaurants, and you get to actually talk to people and have an enjoyable time. I didn't actually get a chance to get any pictures as it was delicious and I simply couldn't wait but next time I go I will certainly get some pictures as it looked as good as it tasted. 100% will go back for more.

We have been regulars since they opened. It's so laid back and the staff are super friendly and always make us feel so welcomed. The food is sooo good; you can tell everything is made from scratch...the arancini...omg! Loving the new menu and so happy that pasta is back on the menu!

Walked in and no staff there to welcome us. Didnt get off to a great start. After 6 minutes waiting, a waiter greeted us as we were just about to leave. He sat us down and took our order. A little strange how our drinks were brought to us by hand and not on a tray… but alright. Spaghetti bolognaise for £14 not great. Just a lump of mince and pasta that tasted as if it was from my local aldi.. Got to work on this to be charging that price. Most places in liverpool dont charge this price, so dont get what the fuss is all about. Staff werent so friendly so no tip was left at the end. I recommend you order pizza if you come here as the pasta was not good value for money. Could’ve cooked my own spaghetti bolognaise and it would have tasted better! Pizza looked alright though so that was a positive.

REALLY good food, and GREAT service! Absolutely loved the Bolognese and wit went very well with the red wine that was recommended by the waitress Nathalie. Barely waited for the food and was such a nice chilled vibe inside!

Awful. They charge an extortionate price for the spaghetti bolognase. £13 for a lump of bolognase and store bought pasta???? Wouldn’t charge that price for something not so nice. Staff were friendly but the prices are just not acceptable.

For the price they are clearly trying to position themselves as above the average pizza place. This is the criteria to judge them by. For the price the base should be cooked thoroughly and the pizza itself larger. Every pizza that I have eaten (I lived in Italy for three years) was at least 12". They have pretensions. They should at least try to live up to them.

Very small place with few tables so offers an intimate dinner space. Staff super friendly, service a little chaotic. Pizzas good , had the Nduja one but picked up barely any spice from it. Not sure there was enough put on pizza. Starters were good. Tiramisu was not classic tiramisu , not much coffee flavour , in fact could not taste it at all , just tasted of vanilla! Espresso there was good so curious why the sponge fingers did not have any flavour. However , Would come back again.

Gorgeous fresh Italian food ran by family, can’t beat independent Italian restaurants. Can’t fault the staff, service or food. Especially the cheesy garlic pizza bread 😍

Pizzeria with a few twists; great dips, both outstanding and out of the ordinary! Good food served with a personal touch. Lovely little place found down a side street if a vibrant village.

An outstanding evening for a family night out. My 85 year old mother has NEVER eaten pizza before and not only loved her pizza, took the leftovers home and even raved about how tasty they were 24 hours later. They say its the sum of the parts. That's what makes this place. The "parts" First the staff. cant be faulted, friendly, welcoming, engaging. Lovely!. Next part. Ingredients. Fresh. varied. interesting. The food here is excellent. Genuinely not your run of the mill Pizza...different level. The company, OK they came with, so cant blame the restaurant that they only get two stars!!! To cap a perfect evening the place is superb value for money. We will be back as soon as possible. 100%

Takeaway pizza was delicious. Finally a woodfired pizza on the Wirral that really executes a traditional woodfired Italian pizza. Lovely to meet the owners also. Top credit to you for bringing such lovely pizza. However, the Spaghetti bolognese for £14 was literally a scoop of pasta and a tablespoon of meat/little sauce. The container was half full and store bought pasta. Got to work on this for that price. Maybe it’s better dining in but on this occasion the pasta dish was disappointing. 2 pizzas and a pasta nearly £50, half the price in venues in Liverpool and the pasta dishes far exceed this. Again however, the pizza really is exceptional. Best wishes and hope you grow with the feedback.

Very cosy, very friendly, excellent fresh food. We had pizza and were able to bring our own wine after a long day at The Open in July 2023. We saw the table beside us order a charcuterie board which looked fabulous. Lovely experience and would have gone a second time but were not visiting there long enough.

Bizarre customer service... We enjoyed excellent meals at Portofino New Brighton, over several months, but on this occasion we have have been put off from going there again. On the plus side, the food quality is normally excellent , and on most visits staff were attentive and helpful, but one of the young Italian waiters is unfortunately not good at English, and this impacts on service; he often has to refer questions to his manager, because he doesn't understand them. He doesn't even understand some basic restaurant terms, such as 'gluten' On this latest occasion though, it was the manager who took our food orders; his English is good, but the Sea Bass my partner ordered, came with a completely unrecognisable sauce, not one described on the menu. She also suspected that the sea bass was mackerel (or another different fish). When my partner questioned him, he was adamant that it was sea bass, but bizarrely said that "we sometimes change the sauces". Er, no....I thought, restaurants do not "change sauces" without discussion with the customer. The manager also offered to go to the kitchen to discuss the matter with the chef and he would " come back shortly" But he didn't return. At all, ever..... He hadn't left the restaurant because we saw him chatting to other customers at the bar, on our way out. At the same sitting, I was given Ravioli in a rather sickly cream sauce, instead of the Canneloni dish which I had ordered. I didn't complain because we had already questioned my partners dish, so I just eat the meal, which I didn't enjoy. So this restaurant has lost 2 regular customers due to what appeared to be odd, bizarre behaviour by the manager. I notice that Portofino, New Brighton, don't respond to any of these reviews; They obviously don't care, not interested. They should be . If you go there, be careful that the staff have properly understood your order, and reject it if it isn't exactly what you ordered , is my advice.

Visited Villa Venezia with friends. As it was lunch time we took advantage of the small dishes which were in fact a very generous portion. The service was excellent with no waiting for our meals the staff were very friendly hope to return soon
